Trey Gowdy: I Supported Mueller, Until I Saw the Still-Classified Papadopolous Transcript and the Exculpatory Information Therein

And withheld from the FISA court.

Trey Gowdy said Sunday that an FBI transcript he reviewed while in Congress changed his "perspective" of the Mueller investigation.

Republicans have alluded to the mystery transcript, which is believed to be from an FBI informant’s interactions with George Papadopoulos.

Gowdy has previously said the transcript is a potential "game-changer" in terms of the public’s opinion of the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign.

...

"I was supportive of [Robert] Mueller. I was supportive of the idea to initiate, to investigate what Russia did, but when I saw this transcript, it actually changed my perspective" Gowdy said in an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."

Republicans have hinted at the existence of a transcript that contains exculpatory information for Papadopoulos, who the FBI claims was the catalyst for its counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign.

I don't think this article is worth a full post, but a man released from jail after raping a woman tracked the same woman down and assaulted her again.

You have to read down into the story to find out: Yes, he was an illegal alien, the subject of not one but two deportation orders.

And the Democrats are still fighting to keep this man in the US, where he'll be captured-and-released to rape and rape again.

12 Gowdy's problem is the same thing that Session suffered from: he trusted the system and his peers too much. Anyone with eyes should have been able to spot the problems right away but he trusted them to be straight shooters because of their position and job.

That said, having him go from a Mueller booster to "I saw the evidence and its crooked" helps the case with the non informed.

I'm tellin' ya - if Trump has a lick of sense, he'll make the Divine Spark Francisco Carranza-Ramirez into his own Willie Horton.

This spark embodies everything wrong with the immigration system, the Democrats, the Sanctuary Cities, all of it.

I know it's crass because it's an open case, and the dude is still on the run, and the victim is doubtlessly terrified, but politics ain't pinochle.

Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at June 24, 2019 05:49 PM (AzW6q)

30 Trump needs to make that particular illegal alien a campaign theme. The story is awful:
* Illegal alien rapes disabled woman
* Illegal alien is arrested
* Charges busted down to misdemeanor because illegal alien and don't wanna let ICE know
* Illegal alien released within 12 months to prevent his transfer to federal custody
* Illegal alien re-rapes the same woman upon his release

This story is sickening and wraps a bow around everything wrong with the sanctuary policy madness - from letting them in to begin with, to elevating them over citizens when it comes to crime, to releasing them back into the wild to offend again, all of it.

56 Backing the Mueller thing from the outset is beyond problematic.

Not a legit appointment under the rules - and if you read the reg and think there *was* good reason, then we're in la-la land where anything means anything and nothing means anything.

And the conduct and product of the exercise - jeebus. It's actually part/parcel of the mega-scandal but nobody wants to even talk about it. The report is as farcical and out of line as any garbage you'd expect from Weissman or Rhee. With barely any of the source material to work with, amateur analysts have torn holes in it and demo'd how distorted, dishonest, and tendentious it is. An examination with full access to the material would leave it in ruins.

But nobody cares. Lindsey can't be bothered. Even the WH changed from a full refutation to a 2-page letter from the counsel.

The corruption of DOJ and the FBI go beyond the marquee names we all know. Whether that will even be touched remains to be seen.

Seattle declared themselves a sanctuary city a while back. Then Governor Jay Inslee, the second dumbest human from WA state after Sen. Patty Murray, declared WA state a sanctuary state.

87 61 By the 3rd rape he'll really know if they have a future together or not.
___________

The victim is partially paralyzed and in a wheelchair. The illegal alien spotted her and her 3-year old son, getting their mail at some apartment mailboxes, so he followed the woman back to her apartment and raped her.

He didn't rape her the second time, he tried to kill her (he choked her and beat her and gave her a concussion). Apparently he was angry that she had called the cops on him after the rape.

Didn't she realize that illegal alien criminals are a protected class in the U.S., and that nobody has the right to hold them accountable for anything?

Under pressure from US President Donald Trump to slow the surge of Central Americans crossing the border, Mexico promised earlier this month to reinforce its southern border with 6,000 National Guardsmen, but had not previously disclosed the extent of the crackdown on its northern border.

"We have a total deployment, between the National Guard and army units, of 14,000, almost 15,000 men in the north of the country," Defense Minister Luis Cresencio Sandoval said at a press conference alongside President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

Asked whether those forces were detaining migrants to prevent them from crossing, Sandoval replied: "Yes."

This point is being made above, but I'm repeating it--no one on our side believed for a minute that their was Russian collusion, or a need for a special counsel, and we mostly all agreed that Jeff Sessions was a dirtbag for recusing himself, and everything went downhill from there.

If you feel the need to fly the "hey I was on team Mueller at the outset" flag for credibility, you're seeking credibility from the left, not the right.

That is the dumbest argument ever anyway. The only possible argument against the rape death penalty is false accusations and the sometimes uncertain state of rape cases. It can be somewhat ambiguous and relying on trust of the witnesses rather than actual evidence.

136 I>>s Jack Straw around? I'd be interested in his take on why enforcement seems to be taking so long. What will be the triggering event?

Just my guess but outside the normal lengthy time this type of investigation normally takes I think the scope of what they are uncovering is enormous and in the very real sense of the word, scandalous. There has never been anything remotely close to this in terms of scope.

Just one part of this, FISA abuse, was going on for years. I'll be real disappointed if they just go after the stuff from the 2016 cycle and ignore the rest.

And I also believe they are working people over and getting some to flip on others. I think Page flipped and I'm pretty sure Bruce Ohr did too. That's why he's still at the FBI, they are working him.

And then there are the diplomatic niceties. As satisfying as it would be Trump is not just going to start accusing allies like the UK and Australia among others of spying on him and his campaign. But I have no doubt he's talking about these things with the respective countries behind the scenes.

No doubt in my mind that people are going to get indicted, though. As others have said, I don't think Barr came back to the DOJ to push papers and take abuse and that goes for Durham.

There is a tiny scar but on the periphery, not in my field of vision and it may even continue to fade. But my eyesight is fine and I am better and I am very, very grateful for all your prayers. IT'S TIME TO LET CLASSICAL MUSIC DIE

BY NEBAL MAYSAUD
ON JUNE 24, 2019

"Western classical music depends on people of color to uphold its facade as a modern, progressive institution so that it can remain powerful. By controlling the ways in which composers are financed, it can feel like our only opportunities for financial success as composers are by playing the game of these institutions.

"It's time for us to recognize that engaging with these institutions, that contributing to the belief that our participation in composer diversity initiatives is doing anything to reshape the institution of classical music, and that classical music is an agent of cultural change instead of a placeholder to prevent composers of color from forming our own cultures, is ultimately furthering colonization and prevents us from creating artwork capable of real, genuine expression."

Only they'd better hope Iran never tries that, because you could "solve" the issue by putting a lot of guns into the hands of the EDL. Now, you might believe I'm some kind of soppy liberal, and I can imagine few culture war issues on which that is remotely true, but one thing I have noticed? I've never met a single minority over 30, not one, who doesn't have a story about the racism and nationalism of the English.

Maybe Tony Blair is right and they're all just one huggy multicultural society now. Maybe I'm right and something far darker is under the surface, ready to drown the island before letting it fall to the hands of the EU without a fight. Bluebell shrugged off the injury, fashioned a hook from a spork but, somehow forgot she was wearing a hook and scratched her eyeball, necessitating removal of the eye and the gaping wound is now covered by a patch.

I believe she's been parrot shopping, too.

352 Bonasera: I believe in America. America has made my fortune. And I raised my daughter in the American fashion. I gave her freedom but I taught her never to dishonor her family. She found a "boy friend," not an Italian. She went to the movies with him. She stayed out late. I didn't protest. Two months ago he took her for a drive, with another boy friend. They made her drink whiskey and then they tried to take advantage of her. She resisted. She kept her honor. So they beat her. Like an animal. When I went to the hospital her nose was broken. Her jaw was shattered, held together by wire. She couldn't even weep because of the pain. But I wept. Why did I weep? She was the light of my life. A beautiful girl. Now she will never be beautiful again.

[He breaks down at this point, and the Don gestures to his son to get him a drink]

Bonasera: Sorry...

[He regains his composure and carries on]

360 >>JackStraw and others have made the point that Congress has no real powers of investigation.

My bigger point is that while they can investigate, which usually involves just oversight of other investigations, they can't prosecute. The only body that can do that is the DOJ.

I understand why people get frustrated with Congress for holding endless hearings but that is all they do. This idea that they are going to lock people up in the jail in the basement of Congress is silly. It's being used as a storage closet and houses the caisson that carried Lincoln's casket. That's how long it has not been used.

Congress made a number of criminal referrals to both Holder and Lynch. Is there really anyone who is shocked that they declined to prosecute anyone in the Obama administration?

402 >>Nunes is an exception, but by and large, the Rs have been useless as tits on a bishop.

>>For instance, if Gowdy saw something, why did he wait til he was out to even bother mentioning it, even obliquely? He did nothing but blather when he had the platform to influence events.

Interesting fun fact, Gowdy wrote much of Nunes heralded memo that has proved to be exactly correct.

Honestly, I think a lot of it boils down to people on our side play by the rules almost to a fault. Leftists have never carried the burden of honesty and obeying the rules. Gowdy is a lawyer's lawyer and all he knows is playing 100% by the rules. He comes from a different time when everyone did.

And they have the media covering for them and pushing their narratives. People talk about Watergate but the real reason Nixon was forced out is when Republicans turned on him. Do you see that happening ever on the left? Which lefties are going to turn on Obama, Brennan, Comey et al? None, that's who.

No serious person can read the Strzok/Page texts and not understand what happened. They talked about "stopping" Trump and briefing Obama. What did the media do with these bombshells? Buried them.

We have precious few allies in the media, we are up against a lawless government run by leftists and statists and they are fighting for their lives. It was never going to be fast or easy to drain the swamp of these people. It is going to be a long, hard, nasty slog. I can't understand why anyone ever thought it wouldn't be.

One of the moms has lost two kinds to the trans madness. She was there to document what these unaccompanied teens were exposed to at this event at a public library. They were raffling of 10 chest binders that girls use to flatten their chest, and these things are dangerous.

In this day and age it's not realistic to say parents are responsible when teens are caught up in the trans madness - events like this one, the trans propaganda at schools, online, in mainstream entertainments sites (teen vogue) bombard kids from all angles. Schools, medical professionals, and the courts are happy to encourage the trans stuff, even work around the parents to do so. Parents do have to push back like these 3 brave moms.

If Mueller had recommended charges or "found collusion," Trey would still be backing up this investigation.

The GOP has been an ideologically incoherent pseudo party as long as I can remember.
***

How does one create a successful political party around the notion that politicians should do less?

This is why the left always won. Because they promised to do ...something...and this led to a cottage industry of "moderate" conservatives splitting the baby and giving the left half of what they asked for.

Of course Trump has sort of shown the way out here. Instead of doing nothing the right will do things that favor members of the right - small business, military/ex-military, taxpayers in general etc
Is it ideologically pure? No. Do I care? No.
