Nolte: CNN Has Lost One-Third of Its Primetime Audience, and a Whopping 55% of the Most Important Demo (25-54 Year Olds)

Trump Bump, followed by No Collusion Collapse.

The far-left CNN's ratings death spiral marched into last week as the fake news network lost one-third of its primetime audience and a breathtaking 55 percent of its demo viewers.

When compared to this same week last year, CNN also lost 21 percent of its total day viewers.

How bad is this?

Well, you can’t blame a slow news week because not only was President Trump on an overseas trip, but as you will see, CNN stands completely alone with this massive audience implosion.

By comparison, in primetime, MSNBC and Fox News only lost four percent of their viewers compared to last year and seven and five percent of their total day viewers, respectively.

Let me lay this out for you as starkly as I can.

Primetime Viewership Compared to Same Week Last Year

Fox News: -4 percent

MSNBC: -4 percent

CNNLOL: -33 percent

More details at the link.

The only people watching CNN are Comfort Dogs lost in transport and waiting in the Dallas airport lounge for a new flight.

And they're like, "Can't we just watch Paternity Court?" And also, "Brian Stelter looks like a plus-sized snausage."

Thanks to Guy Mohawk.

Big: Greg Gutfeld's weekend show gets higher ratings that almost all of the horrible late-night "comic" shows, but the media constantly talks about them, and never mentions Gutfeld.

It's been tried repeatedly (OANN, et al).

Cable companies won't give up the channel slot.

What you'd have to do is buy some non-news network already carried on cable/satellite/streaming systems and re-brand it to a news channel.

Just got Levin's new book, and in the first chapter he cites a comprehensive analysis of media coverage of the first 100 days of PDT's Presidency.
Guess what? Of the big MFM networks (he mentions eight of them, I think), negative coverage ranged from 90% (CNN), down to 70% or the stories being negative.
The surprise for me was Fox News. They were 52% negative vs 48% positive. So, even though they were demonstrably even-handed, the *perception* that has been manufactured by the MFM is that Fox News is 'in the tank' for Trump. In reality, during that time period they were actually 'fair and balanced'.

Jeez, I was just reminded that Oberlin was the scene of a hate crime hoax in 2013. For months, Oberlin allowed the drama of a campus besieged by racist threats to play out in the national media. And, in the end, that drama was exposed as a prank. What was particularly an eye-opener is that Oberlin campus officials apparently had known that the racist, anti-Islamic, homophobic threats plaguing Oberlin were the work of a couple of students who (when caught) claimed they were trying to "raise awareness".

Oberlin never admitted that this drama had nothing to do with real, actual hate. Basically, they participated along with the "pranksters" in perpetuating the hoax.

198 The film-noir alley has become the high point of the week, over there.

I'm at the point where I just fast-forward though Eddie Muller's jabber.

He talks for nearly 10 minutes before the film. Dude! Shut up! I'm not here to see you!

I also can't put up with his all-too-standard opinions: blacklist bad, blah, blah, blah, pre-code good, blah, blah, blah.

199 Bandersnatch @ 161- I goggled that Doris Day/Tonight Show thing. Reminded me of my unrequited love for that beautiful woman. Thank you!

200 @180 Yes, that was my point. Even Eddie is less black-list than Mank.

In the golden years, which we did not know were golden years, when everything else on all 600 channels sucked, you had a 2 in 3 chance that TCM would be watchable. Now the 600 suck more than ever, for their own reasons, and TCM is about 1 in 4.

201 Film noir host Eddie Muller ALWAYS brings up the "blacklist" and proudly bragged about doing so after mentioning people were complaining about it.

Who in the hell is the red-headed Brit woman that they have hosting? She's lame.

She's an Aussie. And I don't mind Muller's jabber, the one I hate to listen to is that prog Mankiewicz.

203 I pray I live long enough to witness the complete obliteration of these media assholes. They have made careers out other people's misery and when there wasn't misery to be found, the would manufacture it.
There is a special place reserved in hell for these foul and putrid motherfuckers.

204 Big: Greg Gutfeld's weekend show gets higher ratings that almost all of the horrible late-night "comic" shows, but the media constantly talks about them, and never mentions Gutfeld.

I watch it every week, usually on Youtube on Sunday mornings with my coffee.

Wonder how Youtube viewers fit into those ratings, or do they?

205 FWIW, I only watch CNN at the bar. And the only reason they've got it on is that there's a certain liberal couple that come in around 4 PM and demand that they turn off Fox News. This is (unsurprisingly, perhaps) in DC.
