Finally: White Women Can Go to Social Events Where They Can Be Harrangued for Their Complicity in Racism and White Supremacy

Saira Rao, who ran for Congress in 2018, has co-founded a group where white women can go to dinner to listen to why they are complicit in racism and white supremacy.
Attendees' only job is to "bear witness" to the pain of "Black and Brown" women.
Race To Dinner invites women to "set aside their white women tears" and schedule a dinner with the co-founders.

Race To Dinner is aimed at white women and was co-founded by Saira Rao after her 2018 congressional run, according to the website.

The group’s website points out that the company's goal isn’t to make white women comfortable. Its aim is to be seen and heard by white women, whose only job is to sit during the dinner and "bear witness" to their pain, which they say white women have caused.
These dinners aren't for people who want to feel good, learn or be an ally, and it is not for white women or about white women, the website states. White women already know everything about white supremacy, because "you and your dudes wrote the book," the Facebook page notes. The website says that it isn't personal, it's just how things are.
Even if you don’t think that you are racist, you are, according to Race To Dinner. Denouncing Trump, the KKK and Nazis does not exempt you from racism, this group says. Rather, "as a white person in America, you are an active participant in upholding white supremacy." Everyone is a part of the system, the website says, but "Black and Brown" people are "on the receiving end of white supremacy" while white women "are on the giving end."
Race To Dinner is co-founded by Colorado resident Regina Jackson. Jackson is a self-employed real estate broker, according to her Facebook page. Her bio on the website talks about her life growing up in Chicago during the murder of Martin Luther King Jr., the Goodman, Chaney and Schwerner murders, and other violence “perpetrated on innocent people” by white people. This is why she is driven “to push for real change in America,” and why she agreed to be a co-founder, the website says.
Rao ran for Congress in 2018 and the website says that she is a racial justice activist. After she lost the primary, she tweeted that she should "give up on white people" with a link to an opinion piece that she wrote for the New York Times. She also said that she was taking her children and moving out of Colorado because of all of the racism that she was subjected to.

And the rot is creeping. I work for a big tech firm. We have a referral bonus program. If you refer a candidate and he gets hired and stays with the company for some length of time, you get a nice cash bonus.

That bonus is now going to be increased by 50%-100% depending on a few factors - but only if the candidate you refer is in an official victim class.

This isn't the government, it's a company (though I think the laws regarding protected status are necessary to enable a blatantly racist and sexist hiring policy - so long as you're only discriminating *for* those groups).

169 Oh, and Denver has a huge community of Asians. Several of them, in fact, spanning the whole socioeconomic gamut in the large sections of town they own outright. They get along fine with the white and Mexican neighborhoods they abut, and I go to their neighborhoods (especially the poorer ones) all the freaking time.

Since I was a little kid, the Little Saigon neighborhood off Alameda & Federal was THE destination for my family when we'd venture into the city. Never skipped it.

Never once have I experienced racism of any kind there. Though I will say, that while it's a mixed Hispanic/Asian area with lots of white customers, it's rare as hen's teeth to see a black shopper there.

OJ was a yuuuge eye opener for me. I was in college during the trial. I was kinda apolitical. I was conservative-ish and I voted for Republicans in 1994, which was my first time voting. But I did that more because my parents were Republicans and I just kinda voted R cuz, well shit, why not.

Race was never an issue with me, I grew up just hanging out with everyone. Same in college. It wasn't really a thing. And then when OJ happened, it really shocked me how black people basically said fuck it, we know he's guilty, but he's black, he killed a white woman and we're cool with that.

I recently stumbled on to the Twitter feed of a woman I used to work with a few years ago. We were friends during that period and occasionally went out together or in groups. I don't ever remember talking to her about politics or race (I'm white, she's black), and we got along well (not that I expected us to be in agreement on all issues, but our friendship was based on other things). And that should be fine, right?

I haven't talked to her in a few years at this point. She has a good job and, by all accounts, a good life. But her Twitter feed has so much venom on it and so much hatred toward people who disagree with her or don't vote the way she wants them to vote. She includes broad-brush mentions of "white people" and how they should just be quiet and listen.

I'm guessing we wouldn't be friends now (especially if I showed the temerity to disagree with her politically), which is sad. But I suspect if I stated any opinions that contradicted hers I would be labeled as "part of the problem" in her view.

I agree. I was in the military back in the '80's, in combat arms which were about 40% minorities and I swear we were all brothers. The only color that mattered was green. I started seeing the change when Clinton got elected, along with the divisiveness that is the hallmark and only real tool that the Democrat Party has.

A telling example of the change IMO was a brief scene in City Slickers (1991) where the black father and son dentists join the group and the young dentists cops an attitude and the father corrects him. It was downhill after that IMO.

As a little white boy growing up in the South in the late '50's during government-sanctioned segregation, I constantly got my small thirsty ass forcibly yanked away from water fountains for reasons I didn't understand. Mumsey Dearest was one of the most hateful bigots you'd ever seen, again for reasons I didn't grok. I've been in the belly of the beast.

We outgrew that phase, thank God. Race relations are exponentially better these days than they were back then. I've experienced it firsthand. It was and continues to be morally wrong to hate anyone who hasn't harmed you. Your conscience will tell you that, as any child will show you.

Also, you cannot be Christian and a bigot. We're all children of God, created in His image and trying to navigate this occasionally hell-filled place as best we can. Everyone is alike, searching and sharing life together, seeking peace where we can find it and goodness, too. We're all in the same boat, so to speak.

Hatred of someone due to their skin color is a true sin. Yet the forces of division seek to make it much more than it is so they can pursue their sick goals of conquering us with them being in charge of the remains. The people in that post are sick as are the people who amplify their sick and divisive message. They deserve to be called out and denounced for their hatred, not anyone else's. It's nobody's fault but theirs for the way they feel. That attitude is immature and childish, and usually outgrown.

Yeah, India's infrastructure is laughably bad.

Roads capable of supporting normal vehicular traffic are rare, and rolling blackouts are the normal outside of major cities (and even major cities experience a lot of power outages.)

A good buddy of mine is from Mumbai, but some of his extended family life like an hour outside of the city, and they get, on average, 4 hours of electricity a day.

The utility companies refer to it as "load shedding" and not "rolling blackouts," but that's shitty AF.

I told him I'd be furious if I only had 4 hours of electricity a day and he said "well, when the only thing you're really using the electricity for is a ceiling fan, it's not that big of a deal."

It was kind of eye opening when he put it that way. I was more thinking about how pissed I'd be when by battery backup died and I lost wifi.

I was always under the impression that you don't want to allow your vegetable oils to get to the smoking point in your pan/skillets because that's when they release bad things. I try to always be mindful of that. Some oils have lower smoke points than others.

As far as colonial masters went, the Brits were pretty good. My parents grew up under them and I never once heard them complain about them. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.

On Forensic Files, they always show experts who identify dead people from their remains - skulls, pelvic bones, etc. They start with the sex (only male and female) and race- caucasian, mongoloid, or africoid. Their are another 3-4 minor racial categories, but those are the main ones. Scientific facts rule.

Yeah read about it years ago. I stick to butter, olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil. Last two have high smoke points.

Canola oil is particularly nasty...IMO.

I've been thinking that way too. Not a lot of movies surprise me anymore. I mean there are only so many stories to tell and only so many ways to tell them. That's why I usually steer clear of all Big Hollywood stuff which is nothing but remakes or remakes of remakes these days. But if you look around there are still some cool indie movies out there that nobody every talks about.

Now it is always foolish to say that "the Science is Settled!!!" on anything, but I don't see any problem with saying that Homo Sapiens began in one specific place, and then their descendants went out and eventually replaced every other existing Homo species in the world, because they were smarter and they did all of the same things better. I think some are trying to say that Homo Sapiens developed out of Homo Erectus slowly and in many places simultaneously, but that seems to me to be a much more unlikely way for things to happen. Could it have been someplace other than Africa? Sure, but there's more evidence for it happening there than for anywhere else.

Agreed. With indie productions of course, quality can vary greatly. But I'm just not surprised anymore, and I think it's pretty much the same with big sports. I've seen it all before, and frankly I don't like the way they package it anymore. So I leave it to the next generation.

All of this is true. In 1990, I was dating a recent graduate of a women's college that was working in the administration of said college, and she was really ticked about how it was becoming a "thing" back then. I'm guessing that the people above her didn't like her concerns because they fired her a few years later and now the school has really embraced the lesbian culture and lifestyle.

It is funny to see the cute little freshmen decide to butch themselves up during their first year in college, become militant "lesbians", graduate, and then dump the whole lesbian culture once they don't have daddy footing their bills and need to find themselves a partner to live with. They usually remove all the piercings, get the gauges in their ears fixed, and let their hair grow out and return to its natural color.

Not that the company did anything wrong, they just figured it was easier and cheaper to settle quickly than run up huge legal bills in winning the case Usually the insurance company makes the company hire these people or do the training to get the target off of the company.

I think you may be misunderstanding the nature of the "questioning" of the "out of Africa" theory.

The odds of two or more completely different proto-humanoid mammalian/ape species evolving from scratch separately in two or more places on the globe simultaneously and yet ultimately evolving into very similar species that can interbreed -- the odds are just about zero of that even being possible. Ultimately, all humans simply must have originally originated from a single line/source/precursor species. And from every evidence ever found, the place where that happened simply must have been in eastern Africa. So, yes, ultimately, if you go back far enough, all humans came "out of Africa."

What's being questioned is "How long ago?" and "How many times?" as regards to the out-migrations.

The PC-influenced prevailing theory is that "modern man evolved into his current form in Africa and only THEN began to migrate to elsewhere in the world, where races only very recently emerged in response to recent environmental factors." However THIS is the theory that is now being "questioned" (and more than just "questioned" -- it's been pretty much debunked).

We know know that proto-proto-proto mankind emigrated out of Africa multiple times, and spread around the world multiple times, not just thousands of years ago but MILLIONS of years ago. And that the human groupings we call "races" are not "recent" evolutionary developments, but in fact have their roots going back millions of years to these very earliest out-migrations. Yes, each successive wave of out-migrants encountered the earlier migrants and often wiped them out, but not always. And the final wave of out-migrants, the Cro-Magnons who were formerly (and mistakenly) thought to be the sole ancestor of all modern humanity, turn out to NOT have "wiped out" the pre-existing humanoid predecessors, but simply to have interbred with them, so that the modern-day ethnicities around the world are partly ancient ancient populations - - not all 100% "new" Cro-Magnon. THAT is what has been questioned. But ultimately, ALL human ancestors come from Africa. We used to think they all came from Africa 35,000 years ago. Then they pushed it back to maybe 100,000 years ago. Now we think -- as much as 5 million years ago, in some cases.

I applied for a job 10 years ago with a company I used to work with. The guy I was applying to said he'd be happy to have me. I didn't hear anything and finally called - turns out HR hadn't passed on my resume.

PhD. National Lab background. Not qualified in their eyes. I finally interviewed against some SJW who was trying to escape from where she screwed up. No competition of course. Got the job.
