Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Rand Paul: Fake Libertarian Justin Amash is a Fake Libertarian"The antithesis of libertarianism," Rand Paul says. Indeed, many of our Sensitive Sallies who spring to declaim any untoward police activity are suddenly huge fans of jackbooted authoritarianism. So long as it's directed at Trump, of course. (Or any Deplorable.)"I actually think the libertarian position on the investigation is -- you know, libertarians, we've been very, very critical of the intelligence community having too much power, including Congressman Amash has said, you know, really you should have to get a warrant before you get an American's records," Paul said during a short interview with HuffPost. The Kentucky senator called Mueller's investigation "an abuse of intelligence power consistent with what libertarians have been complaining about for a long time." He also expressed his support for an amendment that Amash supports which would require a "warrant before you target Americans because foreign intelligence warrants have a lower standard."Don't worry, though. I'm sure that Amash has been told he'd be "well looked after" by the Establishment and corporate class should his smug ass be booted to curb. No one who holds any office on the Hill or any half-interesting position in the Deep State has to worry about having to work to make money ever again. They are paid for who they know and the red tape they can sidestep through unscrupulous friends still in the government. The Feral government is little more than a cash machine for these dirtbags. Their useless existences would have been snuffed out by evolutionary forces decades earlier in any society with half a whiff of self respect. Of course he will. And that's why I get - to quote a great American - so pig-biting mad. These nickelfucking assholes never have to worry about making a car payment, or choosing between food and medicine or, heaven forfend, even worry about some catastrophic medical emergency. Thomas Jefferson wrote a line about the vast majority of men not being made to be saddled and ridden by a fortunate few. But in modern America, we beg these bastards to drive their spurs into our flanks. Tell you what - call me when a POS like Amash is huddled in a corner of his house in a puddle of his own steaming urine, his jockey shorts overflowing with human feces and tears streaming down his face as he waits for the SWAT team to break down his door, sodomize his dog and serve him a full dinner plate of hot lead. A bit unclear on what exactly Paul meant in the pull quote, but I think FISA warrants have a *higher* standard than conventional ones.
Either way, issue is *abuse* of the standards. No set of rules suffices when bad faith and corruption hold sway [have you ever read the old Soviet constitution? not half bad - if it meant anything in practice]. Recall the current system was [mostly] set up as a response to abuses prior to the 70s intel reforms. Don't know if there is any credible analysis of how it's worked, or abuse thereof. And as some have noted here and many now generally understand, it's highly likely the surveillance abuse was systemic and pre-dated the 2016 campaign. Difference between now and the 70s - not kidding here - is that the US no longer appears to have both major parties in support of rule of law, in almost any sense. Big, big difference [and it reflects the broader erosion of the civic culture]. Posted by: rhomboid at May 23, 2019 04:49 PM (QDnY+) 122

Thanks Mark. Basically the same menu of pointless harassment measures many states have adopted, even though they're all wildly unconstitutional, and obviously contribute zero to public safety. And the best that can be hoped for is that the "courts", using their ridiculous artificial framework of "scrutiny", will eventually find these dumb things non-kosher.

Listen, your friends have been broken, They tell us of your poison; now we know. Kill them, give them as they give us. Slay them, burn their childrens' laughter On to hell. The fist will run, grasp metal to gun. The spirit sings in crashing tones, We gain the battle drum. Our cries will shrill, the air will moan and crash into the dawn. Either way, issue is *abuse* of the standards. No set of rules suffices when bad faith and corruption hold sway [have you ever read the old Soviet constitution? not half bad - if it meant anything in practice].
Posted by: rhomboid at May 23, 2019 04:49 PM (QDnY+) Exactly. And much of that abuse took place because of treasonous dipshits like Amash who let Barky and his junta run wild, doing any damn thing they pleased .. watching Barky and his gang break law after law, commit impeachable acts one after the other and never did jackshit to stop any of them. Frankly, Rand Paul, who I generally like, didn't do shit to stop anyone, either. The problem is not with the intelligence agencies, as a rule, but with the number and concentration fo treasonous lowlifes we have had in positions of power who were immune to any law. Season is about 2 months too long, too many teams make the playoffs [all?]. Sad! Sinema is the kind of Democrat I'd vote for. And by vote for I mean let her talk me into a dance in the VIP area.

Simply put, Amash's business(s) aren't holding up too well due to Chinese involvement (suppliers etc.). This is not principle he's spouting...it's personal financial self-interest.

I just drove past a house fully enveloped in flames. The fire department is two blocks away.
It looked as though the basement *might* be saved. Posted by: Mike Hammer, etc., etc. at May 23, 2019 05:09 PM (CDGwz) --------- Oh no - how awful. I hope no one was hurt. Posted by: bluebell at May 23, 2019 05:13 PM (aXucN) 260

realtor -ing is a risky profession specially for a woman - you meet strangers in typically empty locations
Posted by: vmom Doesn't seem risky on PornHub. Seems wanted. Posted by: rickb223 at May 23, 2019 05:14 PM (rGtm/) 263
Yup. I have some slight hopes for a legal challenge. Gun laws have gone back and forth, like the assault weapon ban going bye bye. But it's gonna get grim here. Posted by: Mark Andrew Edwards, Angry, Radical, Anti-Liberal, and Dangerous: buy ammo at May 23, 2019 05:00 PM (bcbK Sorry, Mark, not a chance. WA supreme court is completely Leftist / Maoist. It is all about the big, Mommy State and screw the individual. So gun rights? Read the WA State Constitution's Article 1, Section 24: "The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men." I don't know how it can be any easier to understand. I-594 and now I-1639 fly in the face of these plain words. 9 fancy Lawyers who have been elected by Seattle communists and seditionists, supported by a corrupt local press, disagree. This is the level of official corruption has grown in my beloved state in my lifetime. Yes, I'm pissed. Posted by: LeftCoast Dawg at May 23, 2019 05:16 PM (sy5kK) 264
Yes was good. Have them in my rotation.
I went to concert during their 'Big Generator' tour and my buddy's girlfriend won the portable generator they were giving away. Them boys hit notes so high I questioned their gender. Posted by: DanMan at May 23, 2019 05:19 PM (XTiHL) 265
Amash is a libertarian through & through. They are of the left. Betrayal is what they do.

In addition to being a little mavericky on voting for judges, she's talks to republicans on the floor....a lot. More than any other Dem it seems. Amash continued to receive my vote as a deficit / spending hawk. (Near GR. MI.)
Anecdotally he is Post Toastie among "R's" here now. Counting on him being primaried. Big Trump factions in West MI. Posted by: Hiltop at May 24, 2019 07:00 AM (I789T) Processing 0.02, elapsed 0.0354 seconds. |
