Saturday Night's Alright For Baking

***

The Saturday Night Joke

A man was telling his buddy : "You won't believe what happened last night."

My daughter walked into the living room and said : Dad, cancel my allowance immediately, forget my college tuition loan, rent my room out, throw all my clothes out the window, take my TV and my laptop.

Please take any of my jewelry to the Salvation Army or Cash Converters. Then sell my car, take my house key away, and throw me out.

Then disown me and never talk to me again. And don't forget to write me out of your will and leave my share to any charity you choose."

"Holy Smokes," replied the friend, " - she actually said that?"

"Well, she didn't put it quite like that. She actually said :

"Dad, meet my new boyfriend, Mohammed. We're going to work together on Elizabeth Warren’s Presidential Campaign." H/T “Blake - used vacation salesman.”

It's the internet, is it true? Is it false? We here at The ONT have no clue. But, it is an interesting situation.

Man’s Parents Are Pissed He Reported Car Stolen After His Sister ‘Borrowed It’ Without Permission

Siblings can be the absolute worst sometimes—right? No matter how many times you tell them “no, you can’t borrow my shirt,” they’ll somehow walk out of the house with it on. They just don’t understand the word “no.”

***

How was your vacation? Well, the accommodations sucked big time.

It seems that no matter how hard Airbnb’s staff tries to secure and guarantee a welcoming experience for their clients and hosts, the Internet still keeps on posting the most absurd and sometimes even scary Airbnb stories. In fact, there have been some really terrifying ones. Luckily, the one we have prepared for you today is more funny than bad and it does have a happy ending. But just like any other unsuccessful Airbnb story, this one does remind you to always read the reviews and check for the safest options on Airbnb because you never know when you might end up sleeping in a shipping container.

My suggestion, for what it is worth. Don't forward this to any self-righteous "media" on Twitter. You might just find yourself suspended.

Practice makes perfect, Unless you're a naked Florida man. Then you get arrested.

A Florida man caught playing basketball naked at a public park said he thought it would help improve his skills, according to police.

A park employee said he saw a man playing basketball while in the buff at Candyland Park in Longwood, Florida, Sunday evening and immediately contacted authorities.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, i don't see the beauty or have the $91 Million to buy it.

A 3-foot-tall silver bunny just set an art world record. Rabbit, by the playful and controversial artist Jeff Koons, sold for more than $91 million at Christie's Auction House — the most for work by a living artist at auction.

Robert Mnuchin, an art dealer and the father of the Treasury secretary, had the winning bid on behalf of a client.

The stainless steel sculpture is a faceless space bunny, a balloon that's not a balloon. The piece was one of 11 works that were offered from the collection of magazine publisher S.I. Newhouse, the longtime chairman of Condé Nast who died in 2017.

As to the moose guy - that looks like a fairly young female. A full fledged male, with antlers, would have run him down and not even noticed that he had a stick or, if he did, it would have just pissed the moose off even more.

That being said - still pretty impressive to stand your ground against any wild animal that size.

Do these bints ever stop to consider the reality of what they're supporting? That maybe their support for tearing a viable baby to pieces in the womb isn't going to play well with some of the people they're broadcasting to?

Ugh.

Go to the Babylon Bee. This week they have had two great articles. And today they had a "you can't oppose killing puppies unless you are willing to adopt all dogs" "opinion" piece

Well of course that's what they SHOULD be thinking, but since there's some kind if IQ test you gotta fail to be a Dem Candidate today, that will never occur to them.

Yeah, the Liberals (i.e. Conservative) vs Labor (whack-jobs). And the "National" party is now aligned with the Liberals, and they are called the Liberal-National party (according to the BBC story I read).
I think the fact that the center part of their country has their time zone on the half-hour really screws them up ( or else they really don't like Perth, and want to be 90 minutes away from them).

My grandparents were tough; my great grandparents were even tougher.
I wish I was able to know them all."

The one great grandparent I knew well was Katie Pettis, an old scottswoman. I think she was born in the early 1880's. She lived out on a farm in Wisconsin her entire life, the last 30 years of it by herself. (husband died) she was my mother's mother's mother.

We stayed at her place a couple of times when I was 6 or 7. Old, old house, as old as she was. One time the tornadoes rolled overhead and the outhouse got knocked over. Another time it was lovely, and I woke up very early at dawn, and walked outside to see the sunrise - everyone else was still asleep. I was amazed, as I went out in front of the house, to see Granny walking out of a stand of woods about 100 yards away, headed back to the house. I met her and said "Granny, what are you doing out so early???" and she gave me a strange look with a half-smile and said "I'm not your granny, I killed her and left her in the woods, I'm a witch and I'm just wearing her skin." The she looked straight at me and laughed and went on into the house.

that scared the shit out of me like nothing ever has, before or since. I was so terrified I couldn't say anything at all to anyone, and she knew it, because she would look at me and grin. Months later, when we were back home, I finally got up the nerve to tell my mother about it, and all she said was "ha! Well that's granny, she thinks its funny to say stuff like that. And she's gotten kinda strange now she's got old and lives by herself."

Damn, granny. You sure knew how to mess with kids minds.

With subwoofers, which they hardly ever put my bass through because everybody's usually eating when we play. They do crank 'em up for the All Star Band, tho'. As they should.

263 that scared the shit out of me like nothing ever has, before or since.

284 so a betting house called SportsBet paid out $1.3 million days before the election to punters (weird English/Aussie term) who bet on the lefties in Australia. That means the guys who bet on the loser got paid off as if they had won. The same thing happened with some Irish (as I recall) betting house during the 2016 presidential election. The Irish blokes, as a stunt, paid of those who bet oh Hillary days before the election.

Now let me ask you, how is this even possible or legal? Sure, they can do what they want but who pays off a bet before the contest occurs? Would any American casino or sportsbook pay off a bet as a winner just because someone made a bet? Would any human pay of a sports bet before the match was played? Yeah, they screwed up, but there is something else to this. This is not normal human behavior. Just off the cuff it seems like a payoff to the left, a heads you win tails we lose type of thing.

Someone on their twitter feed mentioned that this could help the conserves because if someone bet on the left and got paid off, they could now change their mind in good conscious or just for fun and vote in what Aussies consider to be conservative. Yeah, it is a stretch but there is a point there. Either way, the world is not getting smarter with social media it seems. No social media or net, no way this happens. They wouldn't even be able to contact the punters before the election. Just weird, these days.

Trust me, international gambling is -highly- regulated. Highly. The credit card companies will come knocking on your door if you attempt gambling fraud, and the sites themselves will be burned to the ground for the slightest infraction. I can't even place bets at most of my Euro haunts anymore with a North American credit card. Point is, even if you found the mythical punter ready to lose a shit ton of money just to give Soros his money back, the Australian Liberals, for one, can and will mercilessly investigate anyone looking to exploit links with anyone at the gambling site. We're talking PMITA prison sentences.

More likely they offered cashouts to get people to withdraw their bets at a premium, before the official results were declared and they had to pay out the full winnings. Lots of sites do it. Always have.

EXCELLENT advice.

Another bit of advice: don't monkey around trying to time the market. By trying to time the market you will successfully avoid the run ups, and consistently hit the downturns. Most run ups occur over a very short time. If you're out of the market then, and pile in when they occur, you're an excellent bet to be paying top dollar. That's giving hostages to fortune.

Does anyone here have any experience with the R-134a stop-leak crap they sell? My F-150 has a slow leak and I was wondering about that.

I have been to Las Vegas New Mexico.
It is actually quite a bit older than Las Vegas Nevada.
You can have some fun there if you are interested in old buildings, and they have some nice restaurants and such.
I drove through in July one year and they had just received about a foot of hail on the road so it looked like snow.

No, I live in WI.
But see quite a few shows there.
Have a daughter who lives there
Go fishing there usually one week a year.

Minneapolis is a bit closer to me than Milwaukee is.
Madison is closer but they don't have a lot of shows there that I would want to see.

351 1) Fund your employer-sponsored 401k the second you become eligible to contribute. Capture the employer match even if you have to sacrifice on something else.

2) There is a time value to money. Over any 10-year period since 1900 (I think), the stock market hasoutperformed EVERYTHING. That's where you want your 401k money be! Buy a Vanguard Total Market Return Fund, or one of Vanguard's other index funds. You won't have to worry about anything, ever. (This assumes that you aren't interested in actively managing your own investments.)

Posted by: mnw at May 18, 2019 11:19 PM (Cssks)

401k are awesome, but not all will offer Vanguard, so basically whatever index fund you're 401k offer should be good in an up market. In a bear market you'll suffer in an index fund. That's fine if you are young and working still, the index fund will rebound quick, too.

365 What happened in Australia?

The New York Times and Washington Post had their front-page stories already written - this was going to be the Climate Change Election.

The stories would say even Australian rural farmers now accept the reality of climate change, since there have been some bad fires recently (because Australia has no history of fires, of course).

Apparently the logic these voters was supposed to follow was:

1) Climate change is real, because Australia has fires.

2) The Australian economy should be wrecked to reduce the 1% or so of global CO2 emissions that Australia emits, while the Chinese laughingly build more coal plants.

3) As with all "Green New Deal" proposals, the whole point is to transfer wealth and political power from rural and suburban people to inner-city "activists".

Unfortunately, actual voters disagreed with this.

If I really had to guess, it is lefty hubris and this company was trying to spike the football in conservatives faces, conservatives on both side of the planet.

I am not a gambler but you might want to look into the story more. These were bets made for labour to win and the payoff is set when you make the bet. The odds don't change latter, the bet is made and that is your payoff amount if you win, it is on the ticket. They paid off the losing side. Some random thoughts on retirement gleaned over the last several years.

Old age isn't what kills retirees, it's the honey-do list.

The first year, you may consider going back to work to get some rest.

Finally, if you are stressed out with so much to do, realize that it's self inflicted--you DID retire.

412 I am not a gambler but you might want to look into the story more. These were bets made for labour to win and the payoff is set when you make the bet. The odds don't change latter, the bet is made and that is your payoff amount if you win, it is on the ticket. They paid off the losing side. And again, this happened in 2016 too.with the Irish bookie Paddy Power.

Online sites are a different kettle, which is why I insist on this. Bet365, for one example, offers "cash out" awards that ate designed to get people to withdraw their bets before payouts must be made. The amount you get back from a cashout may be partial, or your whole initial bet, or whole bet + a percent of what you could expect to win. Lots of sites use this to get people wary of last minute hykey doings (like in Michigan at 3 AM) a chance to get out early, in exchange for losing some of the payout they may expect.

Until several people starting passing out and a few died from the oxygen displacement. The boiling, cool N2 gas lowered the O2 concentration.

427 About recent elections and the "shy right-wing voter" hypothesis:

It occurs to me that after Obama's victories, many people kept their Obama bumper stickers on their cars in Portland for years afterwards, to celebrate, and to show how virtuous they are.

I live in a suburban Oregon county that voted more than 45% for Trump, and there are no Trump bumper stickers on cars. None. People realize that it would be an open invitation to have their car vandalized, particularly when they drive into Portland.

Wearing a MAGA hat in Portland would likely get you assaulted, of course. The cops would do nothing.

As the Left successfully narrows the range of political views that you can express publicly, it becomes increasingly difficult to determine how many right-wing voters are actually out there.

LN2 boil off is extremely dangerous because you have no sense of danger. You just get sleepier and sleepier, until you die. Peacefully.

Dry ice is another story. Inhaling CO2 is actually very unpleasant, causing a burning sensation (try it from a container of soda water), and an increase in the CO2 concentration in the blood triggers panic (respiration is not triggered by lack of O2, but by excess of CO2 in the blood).

I understand. I only mentioned this because I thought people would be interested. I said a company paid off the losing side in the election bet as if they were winners. https://tinyurl.com/y6dppke2

they say are their twitter feed that they paid out $1.3 Million to the losing side. All anyone has to do is google sportsbet australia etc.

I also mentioned Paddy Power in the 2016 election pulling the same stunt and it costing them over a million. It is on the web too, try paddy power clinton. https://tinyurl.com/y2clmskx

I do think we are discussing to different things and that is ok, it is no big deal to me. I get that someone can be paid off at a lower rate early if the other side fears a huge future loss on the bet. But as reported all over the news, that was not the case this time. I believe a bet for labor was paying something like $1.20 to $1 bet and a bet for the conserves was paying almost $7 to $1. The polls and odds said a labour landslide. Again, this company paid of labour bets three days early.

Anyway, there it is if someone is interested fine, if not, fine too.

Yeah, that does amaze me. Corruption? What corruption? Hillary has all the warmth and personality of a hungry rattlesnake.

Thinking about it, dangerous I know, if Hillary had campaigned with Bill on a literal leash, at every photo op there he is, next to or behind her with a leash and a collar on, with Hillary holding the leash, the election might have been different. A campaign slogan could have been 'She's In Charge!' or something along those lines. I honestly think if that visual had been a part of her campaign, she might just have won.

Don't be so sure about that. As I've rewatched the 2016 election results videos for laughs, I notice the last districts to report are always Dem strongholds. Now I will stipulate general incompetence among Democrats, but I can't help but think there were conversations about how many votes were needed before results were reported and they were late because they were trying to figure how much fraud they could get away with.

There's a reason the results weren't out until 3 in the morning in major states. The Dems -always- cheat, and while they will try to go even harder in 2020, they have a huge disadvantage with the DoJ under Trump's orders, not Obama's. The only way they'll have a big enough margin is if it's overt. But Trump had a plan to shut then up in 2016- think anyone would report it if Michigan "magically" swung to Clinton, AGAIN?

Hell, no.

Dunno.

The bag trick works for people who are hyperventilating because by doing that they lower the CO2 concentration in the blood, sometimes enough that they stop breathing. Breathing into a bag means that they inhale a much greater concentration of CO2 than is present in air, and so continue breathing.

It's perfectly nasty in every respect. The pure stuff is a viscous liquid, rather like maple syrup. Too gooey to weigh out, too viscous to transfer by pipette, so tough to handle. Its vapor pressure at RT is about 1 mm Hg, so kinda low to transfer by vacuum line techniques, but more than enough to burn the shit out of you.

Next, you don't feel anything for about four hours after exposure. That means you could slap the shit as aftershave, and have no ill effects for that time. After which, you'll be in agony for the month or two.

Last, but not least, the vapor dissolves in rubber, and so goes right through rubber gloves. As I found out, the hard way.

This. Always.

The Governor's race in Georgia is a good example.

Same thing happened in NC Governor's race. Durham County, a solid red district was the last reporting. Sadly, in NC, McCrory a damn fine Governor, lost.

I think the plain vanilla advice you & I offered the poster who asked, "How do I plan for retirement?" was perfect. You don't have to be E.B. White or William Faulkner to teach 8th Grade Language Arts.

When it comes to financial planning, what I want to know is, "Does investing your life savings yourself fascinate you?" If NOT, then what we said. Period, the end.

If it DOES, then it's a whole different world. I don't agree with you COMPLETELY about market timing, only to this extent: an investor can look at the S&P 500 P/E ratio & tell whether stocks are expensive or inexpensive by historical measures. I think one can, & should, adjust a portfolio toward or away from cash equivalents, based on that. However, I think ALL retirement portfolios, prior to age 65 or so, should be majority equities.

But returning to first principles, if you don't make any effort to save, then nothing can help you. That's why cat food cans say "All Meat!" in big letters.

470 Dems cheated in 2016, sure. They always cheat. But they didn't cheat in PA, WI or MI. And even in their normal cheating ways, they probably didn't go all in like they did in 2004 or 2012 (2008 was a gimme as well, didn't need to cheat then either as vigorously)

Fair enough. I said that because I would guess that 98% of people trying to time the market end up hosing themselves by buying high and selling low.

It takes an iron constitution to buy when the market falls out of bed, and to stand down when it's a record highs. Few people have the nerve or the judgment to do that successfully.

Phosgene is toxic as all hell, but I'd work with that long before mustard gas. You just need a good fume hood, and decent Schlenk line technique, and you're good. IIRC, phosgene is only a problem on inhalation, and that's easy enough to avoid.

There is some weevil killer stuff, made to kill weevils in grain stored in bins.

It is aluminum phosphide tablets, with some inert buffer. It reacts with moisture in the air to form phospine gas. I would get that confused with phosgene. Phosgene has no phosphorus.

Anyway, you open up the top of the bin, then throw a quantity of the tablets in and shut it tight. The gas is denser than air and sinks down through the grain. But you've got to be careful. That stuff will kill you dead.

To avoid just that problem, we recently invested in long term care insurance. If you croak before you need LTC, it acts as life insurance. And if you buy it when you're young and healthy enough, it's not that expensive. I strongly recommend that to those in the Horde who are in a position to do so. It just lays off risk, which at this juncture, is a high priority for me.

529 And for all the talk on finances, I understand it's pretty much futile now to do the "offshore account" thing.

U.S. banking laws and treaties have all but done away with "secret" accounts, be they Swiss or Cayman.

Bastards.

Bitcoin (and the rest of the crypto-currencies) are the new-fangled versions of the numbered account.

Other than that the only way you can keep truly anonymous holdings is physically - gold (the best) and other metals, collectibles (though you lose anonymity when you transfer them), etc. Diamonds, also, but they are difficult to price and you lose too much buying and selling with dealers.

The government has gone so far against letting you have any financial anonymity that you have to report when you take something like $5,000 OF YOUR OWN MONEY out in cash. Banks will interrogate you about what you plan to do with your own money. It's crazy and so un-Constitutional it isn't even funny.

But this is a good part of why cryptos have gained so much popularity for so little reason.

I've heard stories of men killed in grain/silage cave-ins. They were desperately trying to claw their way out, but their sense of up and down got confused and they were digging themselves deeper.

And that reminds me of a job I'd love to put the precious snowflakes to, shoveling grain out of a bin -- those without the unloading auger inside.

We had one like that, and a buddy came home to visit from college one year, and it was time to shovel in that bin. He thought he was in good shape, working out and all that.

He got in that bin, and didn't last 10 minutes. He crawled out, covered in sweat and just collapsed. It blew his mind that I and the others, who were much older, could last so long.

The trouble was he didn't know how to shovel grain, and wore himself out expending way too much energy in too short a time.

547 Does anyone here have any experience with the R-134a stop-leak crap they sell? My F-150 has a slow leak and I was wondering about that.

I noticed the thing was cycling and picked up a couple cans of R-134a. Then got home, and noticed I already had two full cans and a partial one left. It took a little over a can to get back right.

It will last all season, but leak down by next summer.
Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at May 18, 2019 11:28 PM (NMAzL)

The stop leak is "probably" a seal swelling agent. Might work, for a while. If you can get by with one can of R134a per season, just keep on refilling it until that no longer works. Stuff is pretty cheap now, compared to a tank of gas, for instance.

The sooner, the better, my brother, because like life insurance, it's cheap when you're young and healthy. We transferred a hefty sum over to the insurer, who takes the annual premiums from the proceeds of investing what we transferred. But that's it. End of story.

The insurer gets the use of our money until we need LTC, at which point we get use of our money back, in essence, and in the meantime we get peace of mind.

I don't recommend specific stocks period. Anyone can research companies a lot less cyclical than GM that have paid dividends for many, many decades, some increased them regularly like Altria. And you are right about inflation. Sometimes people forget the risk of not getting a return.

And to be clear. I am not recommending Altria and I don't. It is an example of a long time dividend payer and stock winner, but that is history anyone can look up. Hell tootsie roll is another example. Again, this is just history, i have no clue what is coming ahead. The government for example is getting more involved in these companies outcomes, not less.

I"m not a financial planner, but I know the first two things many financial planners ask, is:

1) Do you have a will & an Advanced Healthcare directive? (i.e., who decides if they turn off your respirator); &

2) Do you have LTC insurance? If not, RUN & get some.

Nursing home care costs will make your hair stand on end. Plus, you can use LTC insurance for in-home healthcare services too.

As Jay said, LTC insurance is pretty cheap if u r youngish.

Posted by: Lurking Lurker at May 19, 2019 12:29 AM (FiUMj)

Making all counties report before any official tabulations are given out sounds like a great idea, and a kind of expansion of the 'no calling states before the last state closes' rule.

After Germany-Austria in the 1974 World Cup group play last game, where both teams knew before the game if it was a draw, they would both advance, similar changes were made. Both teams literally kicked the ball around, drawing the game and advancing, creating howls of protest against what was obviously a violation of the spirit of the game but also, more importantly, boring. FIFA made a rule where now all group stage last games in a tournament must be played at the same time to prevent such {WINK, WINK} collusion. Even leagues now have the last game of their seasons played at the same time to prevent any quid pro quo hanky panky.

If you know in advance how much vote fraud you'll need, you'll find it. If you don't know in advance, then things get dicey (for the vote fraudsters). Too much and it's not good as it's too obvious and not enough, of course, loses.

No problem, think of all the jobs the young people will have taking care of the old people. They'll be in high demand, and thus make big bucks!

Whose going to pay them those big bucks? Well, the old people, with their retirement assets.

Oh, what are those assets?

Paper. The point is, wealth is stuff, and stuff that has to be made. Paper assets are nothing without production of that stuff.

If everybody is busy trying to take care of the surplus of old people, who is going to do that production?

I'd avoid whole life like the plague. If you can't describe the deal yourself, in your own terms, RUN! Any ambiguity in the deal will end up being stuck up your ass, guaranteed.

We had a guy come into a company I worked for who was flogging off a whole life type of deal. Their brochure showed whacking great returns on investment. PITA scientist that I am, I analyzed the numbers, and realized that those returns DID NOT INCLUDE TAXES. Surprisingly enough, if you don't pay taxes, your money accumulates quickly.

I put this to the guy, who foofed it off by saying he didn't know what our tax rate would be, and so didn't include it.

Turned out that the first 36 months of payments went straight to this asshole as his commission, so if you could bailed at month 37, you had your dick in your hand, and had just pissed away $36,000.

It further turned out that he bought a house down the street from us, and bought the lot next to it, on which he constructed a fancy garage (with a polymer floor) in which he could wash his exotic sports cars in the dead of winter.

I used to imagine how pissed I'd have been if I'd invested in his shit, and hence had helped to pay for his garage.

It is, and it isn't. Let's put it this way: a complicated deal is an invitation to screw you. So I hope you're right, but let me play devil's advocate.

"Instant cash value?" Frankly, my antennae quiver on hearing that. You give me $10, and I'll give you $5 in instant cash value. How MUCH cash value, compared to your investment, is the question.

Honest insurance sales people? Do you think people who come across as grossly dishonest make a living at this? The garage guy I described above came across as an honest Gomer Pyle type, largely because he was too stupid to realize he was screwing people.

Hell, I worry that I got screwed in the LTC deal, despite consulting an attorney and doing a lot of research on my own beforehand.

That type of insurance is most likely a holdover from when jobs were more dangerous and losing a limb was a real possibility. If I remember my History, one of the Pullman strikes/riots in the 1880's-90's was over a railroad worker getting a limb crushed and, being unable to work, was fired. I'm sure it's now the type of insurance where if you have a job that would need it it's probably pretty expensive (due to said job).

I will add, they should sell ennui insurance with every smart phone.

599 It is, and it isn't.

Stock? You mean like stock car racing? There used to be a dirt track close by -- very redneck, high tone redneck shore 'nuff stuff. Back when I was a kid they used to race every Saturday night.

They'd start up around dusk and you'd hear the engines revving and racing for hours in the distance.

One Saturday night, they all started up, and the roar lasted only about a minute, then got quiet and never started up again.

Turned out they had massive pile-up on the first lap, wrecking ever damn car on the track.

Another big redneck event that has to been seen to be appreciated is the tractor pull. It's big, loud engines blowing fire out the headers, but on "tractors" which see you can pull the "sled" the most distance.

The sled is this thingamabob that's mounted on tandem axle trailer. It has a huge weight that slides foward as the thing is pulled, making it progressively harder to pull.

They have different power classes. This is souped up tractors. Hell, we went to one years ago, and some fool had rigged a gas turbine jet engine on a "tractor". That was a big crowd pleaser.

677 Does anyone here have any experience with the R-134a stop-leak crap they sell? My F-150 has a slow leak and I was wondering about that.
-----

Something sticks in my mind, if you DO ever take it in to a shop for a proper repair, they will not be happy with you, something to do with the fact that all refrigerants must be recycled/captured. They have a very expensive machine used for AC work, and the "stop leak" in your system will bugger up their $$$ machine. That's what I've heard.

Heard stories about "fix a flat" in tires, at tire shops. Be sure to tell them beforehand. They do not like that, it gets slime all over their equipment.

If I ever repair that A/C on that truck, I'll be the one doing it, not a shop. I had to put a new compressor on my '92 F-150. It was R-12. At the time, I had some buddies who could still get R-12. Still do, but it might as well be gold for the price.

Anyway, I remember researching and I went with a blend refrigerant. 134a systems need a bigger condenser, and this blend would do better with the smaller R-12 condenser.

R-12 was chosen for a reason, and it was ideal for automotive applications.

Bill would have had to consent to that, which means it never would have happened. He was in a weird place in '16 -- forced to pretend to support her candidacy, the way he was forced to pretend she didn't bounce heavy ashtrays off his head and pretend that they had a normal marriage etc., but clearly he was not really on board with the idea of President HRC. His appearances at campaign rallies and his half-hearted endorsements were coerced, and the equivalent of a leash.

The internet is often a study in both the fascinating as well as the horrifying.

You know something I cannot get enough of? Urban Exploration photos.

There was one I saw several years ago from an abandoned office building in Detroit. This was of an office where there was a hole in the roof where light was pouring in, but the remains of a desk blotter were still on the desk and a corroding fan set beside moss growing on a table top. I thought 'Some guy worked there many years ago. He may have worked there his entire life and worked to get that office, put a couple kids through college. Probably would hate to see his office in this shape.'

I am strange, but I always think that way when I see anything historical. Rome was a lot of fun. The Colosseum. The Forum.
