When members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russia's role in the 2016 U.S. election have arrived for work each day, they have placed their mobile phones in a locker outside of their office suite before entering.
Operating in secrecy in a nondescript glass-and-concrete office, the team of prosecutors and investigators since May 2017 has unearthed secrets that have led to bombshell charges against several of President Donald Trump's aides, including his former national security adviser, campaign chairman and personal lawyer, who have pleaded guilty or been convicted by a jury. To protect those secrets from prying ears, the whole of the office suite in southwest Washington has been designated a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), U.S. spy speak for an area that has restrictions to ensure secret information stays secure. And, willowed (if I understand that correctly) from the Morning Report, re Pelosi's bs about "wop":
340 The bit about "wop" from Nancy Pelosi is pure, unadulterated bullcarp, and I'm disappointed CNS News didn't point it out."Wop" comes from the Italian "guappo". It means "dude" or "dandy", and is in the Southern Italian dialect, according to the Pedia of Wiki. In some dialects, it comes out as "wah-po" - you know, like the rag that is killing Democracy in the Darkness. Except they also tend to drop ending vowel sounds, so it comes out like ... "wahp".BTW, it isn't really a slur in Italian. It's akin to "homey" in certain US groups. But, it got turned into a slur here because... well, because it could. Also, the Pedia of Wiki says flat out that Pelosi's interpretation is a "false etymology", and that it couldn't be, since the word was in use in America in 1908, while passports and immigration papers weren't instituted until 1918. Since there's a field in the comment form labeled "URL" for exactly that purpose, I would assume the boss is cool with it.
Pimping one's own blog can be a fine line to walk. I agree that those who don't choose to click are very able to choose not to click and the world goes on. I've done it myself, e.g. with the limericks, but do feel like it gets tiresome for others here at AOSHQ. Ultimately, if your blog can't get and retain readership or commenters on its own merits, there comes a point where usurping the comments here might ought to be dropped.

My daughters trick for store bought pineapple is too cut the top back a couple inches, then turn it upside down for a few days inside of a bag. It makes a big difference. Our town got a bunch of Vietnamese/Thai immigrants in the early 80's. Same family, but 4 lines through whatever served as Ellis island at that time. Saesthenglass or something like that for 1/4 of the families. Versions spelled with X and Z in the other 2 lines, and the other was a totally differenttl spelling with S. My own family in the 1800's got separated into Hagerdon, Hagedorn, and Higdon. Nice to see that bureaucratic excellence lives on through the centuries.
