You're Not Going to Believe This, But NeverTrumpers Are Babbling to Each Other on Twitter

This article is amusing: "The Bulwark" is the Methadone Clinic for NeverTrumpers.

Some tweets from the Twitter Based Life Forms below.

Update: Cucks gonna cuck. Are we supposed to be scandalized by this?

Incidentally, Tru Con David French engages with his Very Good Twitter Friend from Vox and impugns, I think, this wonderful site:

I didn't say he was pushed out. I specifically said in a comment he wasn't. But is French denying that he and Jonah have been frequently cited as the reason for a non-donation from previous donors?

French, since you're reading this, I'm specifically asking you if you specifically deny that.

Don't dodge. Don't pretend you didn't see it. We all know you read the site.

Are you claiming that former donors do not frequently cite you and Jonah as the reason for withholding donations?

Can I ask a question? What the hell is it with these fat fucks and cigars?

I'm not knocking cigars -- I'm knocking the omnipresent affectation of them. Is this their way of signalling "I'm bourgeois, but I'm a Bad Boy Bougie?"

Always with the fucking cigars. They're worse than potheads with pot.

Conservative fat guys love posing with their precious cigars more than Goth Fonzie Nick Gillespie loves posing in his brokeass leather jacket.

Is this a "rebel" affectation? What's he rebelling against, his bronchii?

(Sorry -- the only thing more militant than a vegan is an ex-smoker.)

Jonah, if you want to show you're a Bad Boy, do some fucking squats. Then you won't always be hunched over and sweaty like a cuck who's having second thoughts.*

And buy a second pair of pants.

By the way, I have no idea at all what this means:

It's a mystery to me. What is she driving at?

By the way: I'm still not sold on many aspects of criminal justice "reform," but I think this is an interesting admission against interest.

From a commenter, below. Sorry, I forget who. Soothsayer, maybe?

* Joke credit: Infinite Elgintensity. That's one of my favorite jokes.

And see, I credit it every time. Not just when I feel like crediting it.

If he is, does he not see that this is that same kind of thing even if it isn't a genuine beltway cocktail party? Can confirm. They also brag about parties attended as if anyone gives a fuck. One of the suicidal impulses of the GOP was to defer too much to the D.C. insiders who engage in this behavior, which is fine for statists/Marxists who depend on government's imprimatur and largesse and suicidal for a party that ostensibly doesn't.

The cigar thing seems more to stem from the Eighties than anything else. I even have lefty friends/classmates in the bluest of blue places who engage in it. The only common denominator is they came of age at that time. But, yeah, nothing screams "douchebag" louder.

My theory for a while has been that Goldberg and Kristol and Shapiro are Second-Generation-Conservatives. The first gen were the ones who came up during the first part of the Cold War. Many had served in WWII or Korea, and they were shaped by those conflicts and the need to confront communism. In contrast, Kristol and Goldberg came up in the eighties and nineties, when the conservative movement had already established institutions and was a force thanks to Reagan and Buckley, etc. The second-gens needed to know how to move up the ladders already built, not build new ones. Thus they never quite defined their own brand of conservatism, but kept trying to apply everything that they'd learned to parrot to a world that was increasingly incompatible, especially after the fall of the USSR and the attacks on 9/11. The third-gen conservatives are the ones who came about during the Obama years, and often make up the alt-Right.

360 Wildly off topic, but we're deep in the thread now.

In the Federalist satire piece on abortion that Meade Lux Lewis linked in comment 11, there is this perfectly insane comment:

The right wants to outlaw abortion because they hate immigrants. They understand that right now we need immigration to keep up with productivity because our own birth rates are so low. Even among latin American immigrant groups, their high birth rates fall to "American normal" by the second generation.

They think they won't have to let in so many people if they can force American women to have more children.

If the person who wrote that wasn't trolling (and I sort of doubt it was trolling) then I have no idea how to go about trying to unpack that level of delusion.

and these NT dudes - well let's see everything stems from HS/college experiences

I am same time, similar schools, they hate me (possibly? they wouldn't know to look at or speak to me what my thoughts were) and other BadThinkers.

But why? I think because they so desperately cling to their Elite School status, deeply repressing the memories of when cooler Chad-ish fellow students made fools of them (which I'm guessing, happened often). I'm not going to say they're GDIs necessarily, but they're GDI-ish (GDI = GodDamn Independents, aka non-frat members). Being a GDI is a mindset, that of being an insufferable geek who feels nevertheless Very Superior (Mommy said so!) and recalls (and buries) every slight.

there is a lot of deep stuff here, I think. And they've chose to take it ALL out on people from Kentucky, for some reason.

Two mildly overweight black chicks giving a Republican president a shout-out usually would make cucks like Rove freely ejaculate. But, Trump.

my problem would come in the actual learning, which seems pretty hard and would entail hours and hours and days and weeks of awkwardness and embarrassment and muscle ache.

Time, ibuprofen fix most of that. The embarrassment goes away soon, especially when pretty girls are smiling at you and touching you wearing clothes that are either short, revealing or both (for showing off and dancing).

Seriously, just being WILLING to dance is a huge leg up on most of the male competition. Women will cut you a lot of slack even if you dance badly. If you learn to dance well, they'll cut you ALL the slack.

Not really. Group classes can teach you the basics fairly quickly, and for social dancing you really only need to know about five figures for a dance. Anything more is likely to be wasted on a new partner.

Back in the late 70s, my newly-divorced father started doing Arthur Murray lessons something like three times a week. Then weekends at the disco. He lost weight and could cut a serious rug. At my wedding reception it was like a Fred Astaire film - when he started dancing with my stepmom, everyone backed up in awe to watch.

Good dancing is highly respect and women seriously dig good dancers.

A while back my dad brought over some old clothes for me to donate or keep. One of them was a pinstripe three-piece suit.

"What's that?" I asked.

"That's my lucky suit. I got lucky a lot in it."

560 Goldberg wrote something cryptic (at least to me) the other day about not disagreeing with a columnist's suggestion it was not worth it to trash Trump's respected supporters like Victor Davis Hanson. Apparently Jonah trashed the writer over her column, which among other things suggested the NT'ers had no end game and seemed to delight in trying to destroy people like Dr. Hanson....and 24 hours Goldberg's on the Love Boat with Steven Hayes. Seems a bit coincidental coming that soon after doing a semi-mea culpa about dumping on someone who had defended one of NR's last serious writers. If Jonah had upset Jason Steeorts' Manhattan pals we would know the cause of his departure for certain.
