Brazil's army needs to seize Columbia's southern border, and Columbia's army needs to seize the western border. They could do it quite easily, Venezuela doesn't have any serious amounts of troops stationed there, they're needed to keep the lid on the rest of teh country. That'd give Guiado some space to set up a provisional government. Let Caracas rot for a while. There would be almost no actual fighting, especially if Brazil and Columbia both came in with at least division sized strength.

legal insurrection wants you to know that snopes fact checks the babylon bee:
While Empire actor Jussie Smollett has been having a tough week so far, there appears to be a silver lining: cable news channel CNN has offered Smollett a job as an investigative reporter and on-air anchor after witnessing his skills at fabricating a story entirely out of thin air. CNN producers were reportedly impressed throughout the ongoing saga of Smollett's apparent hoax attack on himself. They realized early on the facts didn't add up but were fascinated with how well the actor kept the narrative going. An HR rep quickly reached out to Smollett to see if he'd be interested in taking on a position at the news organization after news broke that the entire thing was probably fabricated. I underestimated how good Larissa is, and Dave is also super good. Posted by: Who is broseidon, semi-official komodo dragon shifter? at February 21, 2019 10:13 PM (icI8A) 106

Speaking of movies I saw Hereditary recently - some spoilers below.
The movie centers around a cult trying to summon a demon called Paimon. So after I watched the movie I searched and sure enough the film makers had used a demon from actual medieval demonology sources - way to go script writers! And then I noticed my google search was full of people talking about how *they* summoned Paimon in rituals of various stupidity/silliness (before the movie came out as well). Welcome to 2019 everyone, we can access medieval demonology manuscripts and try to summon them in our own homes. WOOHOO. We live in stupid times. All right, I'm going to throw this cover letter out there for the Horde to critique. This is a compant that was not advertising specific openings, but accepts inquiries from all. Any input would be appreciated.: ---------------------- Good Afternoon! I am writing today to express my interest in an Inside Sales/Customer Service position with Everdry. As the attached resume will show, I have bee in Sales, Account Management and Project my entire career. I would appreciate the opportunity to talk to someone about the possibility of putting this experience to work for Everdry. Client satisfaction and technical understanding of services/products has been a passion my entire career. A little bit about my situation. An injury has left me partially handicapped about a year ago. This only involves some difficulty with mobility and a partial use of my strong right hand. The only accommodations I would need would be a headset/mic for phone work and the ability to key in all necessary forms/correspondence rather than handwriting them. I decided to approach your company after speaking to some friends in the area that know my situation about companies to look at working for. Everdry came up not just once, but several times. This was due not only to your quality of service, but also the friendly work environment there. This a company I feel I could represent with enthusiasm and confidence. Thank you for your time and consideration today. I will call tomorrow afternoon to follow up on this message. Best Regards. Posted by: Calm Mentor at February 21, 2019 10:48 PM (ffYR/) 243

I can't trust myself to proof my own work because I unconsciously 'fix' a lot of my own grammatical errors when I read things back to myself; hearing it read in a neutral voice can hilight awkward phrases or verb tenses or number agreement issues that I wouldn't notice otherwise.

Calm Mentor:
This is how I would make edits. I hope this lead pans out for you!!! Good Afternoon! I am writing today to express my interest in an Inside Sales/Customer Service position with Everdry. As the attached resume will show, I have been in Sales, Account Management and Project for XX years. I would like to use this experience for Everdry. Client satisfaction and technical understanding of services/products has been a passion my entire career. I would require minor accommodations for the position. An injury has left me partially handicapped about a year ago. The injury creates some difficulty with mobility and allows a partial use of my strong right hand. I would need a headset/mic for phone work and the ability to key in all necessary forms/correspondence rather than handwriting them as accommodations. Everdry came up not just once, but several times as I spoke with friends in the area about potential employment opportunities for my skills and my physical requirements. This was due not only to your quality of service, but also the friendly work environment there. Everdry is a company I feel I could represent with enthusiasm and confidence. Thank you for your time and consideration today. I will call tomorrow afternoon to follow up on this message. I look forward to an opportunity to discuss in person my qualifications for an Inside Sales/Customer Service position. Best Regards. His name is Justin. He goes by Jussie, not sure why, as I had never heard of him before this went down, but it sounds like a Billy-for-William type nickname. I do not like the Shaquiqua crap, but it's mostly in ghetto areas, and poor blacks are not the only poor people who give their children what they feel are fancy names to offset the poverty they are reared in. (They also tend to name their kids things like Prince, Queen, etc. I dully expect a crap of Duchesses in the near future) I think at one point there was also an intent to make it seem exotic and African in an attempt to connect to some sort of heritage.Doesn't bother me as much as people like the Geldofs and Zappas giving their children bizarre names. There is no way you can ever put that much into Social Security.. simply impossible with the current limits. Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry He said 'on his behalf', so that counts the employer half of the contribution, too. So, with the 2018 withholding limit at an income of $128,400, and the combined employer/employee pay-in of 12.4%, that's $15921.60 "on his behalf" this year. At that rate, to get to "over 600K", you'd have to pay in for just under 38 years. 38 years from 67 is only 29. Yes, the limits were lower in the past, but they'll be higher in the future, too. The thing about Dem panic over black male political temperature is plausible.
Recall the unbelievable "put you in chains" outrage by the dimwit Biden. The degradation of the Dems - and their racially defined target voter groups - is so profound that even the most outlandish explanations deserve a look. Endorsing REPARATIONS? Introducing an ANTI-LYNCHING LAW? They pay zero penalty, but the heavy-handed racism, cynicism, clumsiness, and arrogance of the Dems are mind-boggling. One other related thinggy. One of their presumed favored mindless race/gender vote-generating gambits - black female candidate!!! - is of very dubious value when it comes to precisely the demo in question (black males over 30, I'm guessing). I don't think black Chicagoans stuck with a third world murder rate are going to side with a ghey TV star against a black Police Chief who talked about all the resources sqandered by this punk. They've set this up with the Police Chief (Robinson) and the Asst State's Attorney (Lanier?), both of whom came across today on TV as serious, sober public servants. No television cameras will be allowed within 100 ft of the mayor. (Trip to Miami like Al Capone?) And I don't know what's up with this, but evidently the State's Attorney skipped to California?

The girls were definitely underaged ( mid to late teens, I think) , and therefore unable to consent or legally make any decisions, but most of them did go willingly, and plenty of them knew what they were going to, although I don't think they exactly knew how far they would be made to go. IIRC, they sent young teens out to recruit, and told them they could make thousands of dollars for giving a few older guys messages and blowjobs, or something. NOT DEFENDING HIM. Just saying the news makes it sound like he kidnapped a bunch of 7 year olds and forced them into being sex slaves. And there was a girl who said he kept her as a sex slave when she was 17 and passed her around. Not sure why this wasn't a bigger scandal then, since Clinton and Prince Andrew were implicated, but now I think it's partly also a way to try and investigate Trump further, because they were friends of sorts. Rolls had a flatter roof line, and in side view had an arch motif to them. Daimler were more square, seen side-on. Of course, in that era, both marques could be had with coach-built bodies. A good pic of the radiator grille would tell the tale. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at February 22, 2019 12:51 AM (nPGq2) 550

I think the creek crossing car is something smaller than a Rolls or a Daimler.
Certainly, a Brit or European marque, the lines demand it. But whether it's a U.K. product, or French or German, I simply can't make out from the image. Size wise, it's a notch under those mentioned in the my initial sentence. It's mounted on the chaise though, without wheels or tires. I suspect this is to minimize the total height of the carried load. Best I can make out it has a BIT of a rounded profile at the top of the hood/grille junction. Not quite as sloped as a Renault though. Damn sure not as squared off as a Rolls. Rear quarter windows behind the back seats are full-sized in comparison to the windows on the four doors. That segment of the car seems a bit unique as to it's apparent era... perchance, a clue? Jim Sunk New Dawn Galveston, TX Posted by: Jim at February 22, 2019 12:59 AM (QzJWU) 560

IMHO, adverse possession laws should only be used to regularize existing and long-standing informal easements and land swaps, arising from either survey mistakes or misunderstanding of surveyed boundaries, or old gentlemans' agreements. They should not be used by squatters as a tool to alienate property from its rightful owners.

The classic adverse possession (here in the Land of Cheese, 20 years, BTW) is fencelines. What the surveying *profession* doesn't like to admit is that every survey has a different result. Especially when you start converting from Rods and Chains to Metes and Bounds and then to, heaven help you, UTM. After 20 years -- recently clarified by the legislature -- the fenceline is the property line.

P-51Ds would go for a few hundred. If you are going to time machine, visit Biak Island since 1,000 B-24s were scrapped there along with many P-39s. I read the article but I disagree Democrats are not colluding with the carrels. Their protection of our misguided and boneheaded immigration policies are unwittingly helping the cartels to make enormous fortunes from migrant smuggling but the Democrat party is not engaged in a conspiracy with the leadership of the drug cartels.
As to the Cravans, that is a growing crises and I'm besides myself why nobody in Washington is even talking about solutions. Even Trump (who as far as I know hasn't spoken up recently for asylum reform). I fear a disaster is coming that could have unpredictable political consequences. What happens, for example, that some reckless migrant get's their child killed by attempting to get them over one of the newer, higher 18 foot walls? The cries from the media to tear down Trump's "dangerous" wall could be deafening. The administration needs to take this crises seriously and come up with a solution that ends the chaos of desperate people trying to set foot into the U.S. by any means necessary. The ideal solution is for Democrats to actually agree to change the law to disallow any applications for asylum for those crossing illegally, to remove the incentive. Short of that, my idea for a short term solution -- and this isn't going to be popular with everyone here -- is to literally bus them ourselves from Honduras into the U.S. where they'll be given expedited hearing for their case for asylum -- and if they don't pass, which will be the vast majority, we bus them back down again. The cartels are a terrorist organization, and trafficking Central American's have become their number one source of income. Taking such a drastic and expensive measure to screw them over is worth it. Serious Cat.... The MSM is gonna cry about anything we do, so [push that aside.
What if we just enforce the laws on the books already and: * Quickly deport illegal aliens when we find them during traffic stops and warehouse raids. * Arrest and prosecute businesses who hire illegal aliens. * Arrest and prosecute public servants such as mayors, judges, city councilmen, and congressmen who refuse to cooperate with ICE. There will not be any meaningful reduction in the presence of illegal aliens until there are real, swift and painful consequences for being an illegal alien for facilitating their presence here. As far as 'the cartels' go, they're here and they ain't going anywhere, anytime soon, if ever. They're affiliated with local and national gangs and I'd be willing to bet they're deeply embedded in the government by way of bribery and extortion. If you doubt that, look at Mexico's government and compare and contrast their institutions behaviors with ours. The only way to rid ourselves of the cartels is to kill them and to destroy everything associated with them. Well alrighty then....gotta get a cup of coffee.... The trick to reparation will figuring out a way to make sure only conservative white people pay them. And the benefits go to all non-conservative people of color. South Africa is working on a way to do this now.

Lots of bogus "historical" quotes on the internet, but surprisingly the quote re: Statue of Liberty dedication is pretty accurate. I researched the quote, and it comes from a lengthy speech by politico Chauncey M. Depew at the end of the dedication in 1886. The actual quote refers to the statue: "The rays from this beacon, lighting this gateway to the continent, will welcome the poor and the persecuted with the hope and promise of homes and citizenship. It will teach them that there are room and brotherhood for all who will support our institutions and aid in our development; but that those who come to disturb our peace and dethrone our laws are aliens and enemies forever."
Just in case a lefty questions the veracity of the quote... Posted by: Jeff Powell at February 22, 2019 08:17 AM (hgC3T) Processing 0.07, elapsed 0.0878 seconds. |
