Because they didn't want to show them scowling angrily at denunciations of antisemtism.

From an electoral standpoint, it should be impossible for an openly Moslem candidate to win a federal office. Even in a heavily Moslem district, there should be enough hostility to this coming from the broader society to prevent it.
But at least Keith made an attempt to disguise his true beliefs, which was made easier because he's culturally "American."
Omar is a foreign born radical Moslem who wears a hijab, makes no attempt whatsoever to conceal her radicalism, and is also a known bigamist who committed immigration fraud.
The fact that this woman is a United States federal representative is shocking, on its face.
The fact that she is welcomed by her caucus, publicly, with no attempt to disguise their acceptance of her radical beliefs as part and parcel of their coalition is downright disturbing.
Even ten years ago such a person would be held at bay, frozen out of committee assignments, ignored on everything, and punished in budgets. IOW, the Congressional equivalent of being run out on a rail. Even by Democrats.

Well, I don't really know the context on all of this, but in general, I think it's fair, if not a bit cynical, to say that "congressman [x] supports policy [y] because his donors / lobbyists support policy [y]."

I will look for that on YouTube. I never saw Hannah Montana because we've never had cable, but I had friends with young girls who loved that show and the parents liked it too. As soon as she decided to throw that image off, it was downhill for her. I think you're probably right that something happened, somewhere. I could never understand how her parents could let her do all she did at a young age without being there every second of the time.
I think the days where a childhood star could have any semblance of a normal life are far, far gone.

But... before the Nazis, existing communities of assimilated Jews in Western Europe were quietly embarrassed by and resentful of the "new" Eastern European orthodox Jewish immigrants. They viewed them as rural and backward, poor and ignorant Jews who gave the "good" German or French ones a bad name.
The tension between Westernized Jews and the traditional orthodoxy remains to this day in Israel.

AIPAC is successful because it can motivate voters. Policy Conference is one example. There is a day there devoted to having AIPAC supporters go to every Congressional office IN PERSON to talk to their representatives or senators. These people are FROM THOSE DISTRICTS. And there are a lot of them.
Just as the NRA doesn't have to bribe elected congress critters, AIPAC is effective in the same way. They don't need to bribe people. They have the facts, and they have the voters.
The demonization of AIPAC, or of Jews in general, is a pushback against their very real influence. Thing is, that pushback is grounded in the most vile and base motives...the Left cannot win the argument on the merits, so they retreat into the same kind of antisemitism that has plagued mankind for decades.
Not very "progressive" if you ask me.

I also predict there will be nothing coming from the Dems that Trump can sign and the news will shift from VA to this Budget Circus. He should Judge Shop first, get a Judge on board with the necessary documentation to declare it legal to bypass the Hawaiian judge, then start building the wall via the DoD.

I've seen pictures of her arms, and they are covered with small scars. I think she self-harmed for some time, and that is usually due to a trauma of some sort. I don't care for her politics, but I think that is part of the environment in which she has been immersed since she was little. And yes, that is squarely on the shoulders of her parents, who allowed that to happen because she made money. It seems akin to prostituting her, which is vile.
I hope she becomes healthy and is happy in her marriage.

moki, I hope her husband,who seems like a very down-to-Earth young man, takes her to Australia away from all the Hollywood nonsense. They're both young and career minded, so probably not, but it would do her good.
I was delighted to see that they did without a media-circus wedding and seem to have had a ceremony and reception at someone's house. Maybe losing their own home make them realize what really matters in life.

As I posted last week, indentured servants were required to serve their indenture for 5 years in most cases, then they were released. This was to cover the cost of their voyage to the new world which in those days was very expensive and had to be paid in gold up front.
Now their servitude was not a bed of roses, but it wasn't much worse than the people they were working for. And they were actually paid up front.
