I Have Found The Boogey Man Person And The Boogey Person Is Karen Pence
Meet Karen Pence, the wife of Vice President Mike Pence. She looks like the lady next door.
But to the extreme Leftist 1%er's she is the Boogey man or worse. Mrs. Pence recently went back to work, teaching art classes at Immanuel Christian. Admirable you would say. But not to Jessica Donovan, headmaster of Sheridan School, Washington, D.C. You see Ms Donovan does not want to produce well rounded young citizens. She would like her students to shun the deplorables, the modern day lepers of America.A progressive school in the nation's capital said its students will not be playing sports at the school where Second Lady Karen Pence teaches part-time because of safety concerns. Jessica Donovan, headmaster of Sheridan School, a K-8 institution located in northwest D.C. that has a tuition of more than $36,000 a year, sent a letter to parents saying Immanuel Christian School's policies were an "obvious challenge" given the school's "fundamental belief in diversity and inclusion."
Nothing says I believe in diversity better than I will not associate with you in your gym. The administrator's claim for "safety" is laughable. This has nothing to do with "protecting" the special snow flakes.
Donovan explained the administrators at Sheridan work to “separate the ideals of Christianity with the policies of this particular school, as we play many Christian schools that support LGBTQ rights.” The school will still play against the Virginia Christian school for home games but will wear rainbow socks to express their support for LGBTQ rights.
The Sheridan School isn't the only thin skinned organization regarding Mrs. Pence. The Trevor Project in a provocative move decided to seen 100 copies of "gay" children's book to the school.
Oliver’s illustrated book is a pro-LGBTQ love story that parodies a children’s book the Second Lady illustrated in March called “A Day in the Life of the Vice President.” Karen’s book, written by Second Daughter Charlotte Pence, is a fictional account of how the Pence’s pet rabbit, named Marlon Bundo, views the daily activities of the Vice President. “Our story is about Marlon Bundo falling in love with another boy rabbit because our Marlon Bundo is gay,” Oliver said on a his HBO show “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” when his book came out in March.
What the Trevor Project did was bigotry, no different than me sending 100 pounds of bacon to the local madrassa.
Mrs. Pence's part-time job even made it to the rounds of CNN.
CNN’s John King asked his panel if second lady Karen Pence should receive her taxpayer-provided accommodations, like housing and Secret Service protection, after deciding to work as a part-time art teacher at a Christian school. Karen Pence announced earlier this week that she will be teaching at Immanuel Christian School, a K-8 Christian school in Springfield, Virginia. Backlash ensued because the school adheres to Christian teachings. They reserve the right to refuse applicants or expel students who engage in homosexual or transgendered behavior, or otherwise violate “the moral principles of the school.” (RELATED: PHOTOS: Karen Pence Unveils Christmas Decorations At VP Residence) Karoun Demirjian, Julie Pace and Olivier Knox were on the panel.To the progressive, diversity cloaked secular citizens who believe in a Constitution which is a living and breathing document, it's time for a no-fault divorce.

Speaking of diversity, I was recently schooled on what it is and what it is not.
I was asked to observe and/or explain how diversity was present, among of group of individuals in a setting I won't name, discussing a topic I won't explain.
Anyhoo, some of the people talking had spent some time in prison. Their perspectives on said topic were illustrative and interesting.
I noted that as an example of diversity.
I was told that is NOT diversity. I was told diversity would have noted their gender (pretty much everyone was male), their skin color (everyone was black), or I suppose who or what they like to f**k, which didn't come up, in the discussion.
So now I know what diversity is. Or isn't. And the fact that these guys, the men who had spent substantial time in prison, had some things to teach to people who hadn't (which was not the point of the discussion either)... that doesn't mean a damn thing to these pointy headed twats who make up our cultural elites.

I didn't say there's "nothing wrong" with it. In fact, I would NOT go along with a kid's transgender claims. "Sorry, Jane, you're NOT John and we're calling you 'she.'"
I just wouldn't necessarily kick her out over it. I would if things got ugly and scenes were made, but I'd do that with any problem kid.
Jane will probably get over her delusions in due time. She might even need the support of Christian friends and teachers if her parents are really weird.

It's also known as instant runoff voting. Wiki has a good summary, but long story short, you don't vote for just one person with the largest vote total, no matter how small, winning.
Instead, you rank your preferences from one to whatever, sometimes there's a limit, and then they keep tallying over and over again until one person gets more than fifty percent of the vote.
After each round, the lowest candidate is eliminated, and if that person was ranked first on your ballot, then your vote changes to your next preference, etc., etc.

Currently used in San Francisco, Oakland, and Minneapolis for local elections. Maine uses it for state wide primaries, but their Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional for general elections, and they're still arguing about that there. Oscars use it for Best Picture voting. Some other countries use it for their federal elections with mixed success.

Oscars are a good example. People strategically vote against their strongest opponents. In case of best picture, that usually means rankings your favorite first, your "enemy" dead last regardless of its best picture quality, and everything else, again, no matter how middling or mundane, ahead of your enemy.
Same thing can happen when ranked choice voting is used in primaries. Some people will rank each and every fringe party candidate above major party candidates just because.
Lots of potential and very real unintended consequences.

And if you get very specific in polling, then anything beyond first trimester abortion is opposed, except for the usual carveouts like immediate physical danger to the mother, rape, incest, etc. Mental health exceptions do not poll well in second and third trimester pregnancies.
We're very European in that regard. I like asking young, progressive political types if they've ever studied abortion law specifics in Europe 'cause they're not nearly as liberal as everyone tends to assume.

The gay agenda gets a lot of silly talk going and it aims to create gayness where it doesn't exist, but virtuous same-sex friendships will persist. 2020 did a show about BTK Friday night. He claimed he was not abused as a kid or anything, he was just bent. In elementary school he fantasized about killing the other kids. He was on a date when news came on the radio about the In Cold Blood murders of the Clutters and he immediately wanted to kill his date.
Other weirdness: at his sentencing, the survivors gave victim impact statements regarding their grief and anger. Then he exercises his right of allocution in which most defendants explain to the judge that they're really not that bad a guy. He, however, thanked the police, the DA etc. as if he were receiving an Academy Award. He even apologized if he forgot to thank other bit players in his drama.

I see some validity in this, having coached youth sport,s where the object is to do the best you can with what you have to work with, both as an individual and as a team. One year in girls softball, I coached us to 16-4 and won the league because I had talented players. The very next year I went 1-15 with much much less talent. The latter kids learned more as far as effort and perseverance than the winning team.

I think we would have heard something by now if she were able to make any kind of public appearance. Even something as simple as waving from a balcony somewhere.
Bigger question is whether or not she'll be able to sit in court for oral arguments before end of term early this summer. If not, and she misses the entire term, then there's gonna be some public debate about forcing her resignation.
Even Rehnquist managed to show up for three months of arguments after his initial absence and despite dying a few months later.

And that CONGRESS would decide those issues, not the Courts.
Congress did actually vote ONE person in history to be a dual Citizen, Lafayette. They had a special vote to give him that honor because he was imprisoned after the French Revolution.

Disagree.
Rehnquist was Chief Justice so there was a little more deference. Plus, after missing a few months in court, he still managed to swear in Bush for his second term, and sat for oral arguments again later that spring. Yes, he still died in September same year, but he made an honest effort to keep up appearances.
RBG missing an entire term would be more or less unprecedented. The court has its traditions, and frankly, they don't want to usher in a new era where justices are kept in hiding like ailing priests. I'd be shocked if Roberts himself didn't say something eventually.

If I were running the court, strictly, then yeah, I'd force abstentions for anyone who missed any oral arguments on a particular case. But we all know some justices can barely write their own opinions without a small army of clerks, so there's wiggle room. Letting RBG work from home was always a temporary solution though. Slim chance she'll regain enough strength to return full time.
They all know her replacement battle will be an extinct level event.
Unfortunately, if Roberts does let her slide for the entirety of this term, then "no confirmations during the last year of a presidential term" will become the rallying cry. It won't matter if she's shamed into resignation at that point.
Yes, anyone with half a brain knows the real rule is "last year when the opposing party controls the senate," but that won't stop Democrats from beating this horse to death, and the media insisting Democrats are right.

Here's my question: if she can work from home, and needn't attend oral arguments, why are ANY of the Justices there for oral arguments? Are they completely pointless? If not, and they provide critical information for the Justices, why is RBG allowed to weigh in on decisions when she didn't attend the oral arguments?
They can't have it both ways. Either oral arguments are a substantive part of the process, or they're not.
(And yeah, I know, the Reds will say she read the transcripts. But in that case, why not just have the appellants submit written responses to the Justices' written questions?)

Counting back by sevens is different. The math is simple enough that anyone should be able to do it when they aren't rushed. The real dementia test is seeing whether or not you can remember the previous number.
There's something about doing the subtraction that requires different parts of your brain. It makes people with short term memory issues forget the previous number or what they were supposed to be doing with the numbers in the first place.
