I've been called twice before. I've never served on a jury. I'm retired so the time doesn't bother me. I've never seen a jury trial, other then the ones on TV, and I'm guessing the real guilty party doesn't breakdown on the stand and admit to their guilt due to clever cross examination.
I would like to see the process, but I don't want to drive in the snow tomorrow.

I was on a military jury for a court martial. Very interesting to be part of an experienced and knowledgeable jury with the ability to ask questions.

A whole bunch of them are OK with that, trust me.
I joined up with TSA when they stood up and that place was filled with people who wanted to be in control. About 30% of them were people who wanted to be cops but couldn't get through the selection process for various reasons from physical issues, failed polygraphs and failed background checks. At that time the TSA ran a quick criminal check and if you passed that and the written test you were in.
Another bunch were mentally unstable and incapable of independent thought. The group I started with had 4 retired military in it and not one us stayed for more than 6 months before we quit.

I bought a snowblower 9 years ago after I retired (early) That January we had a 20 inch snowfall. A lot of people scurried out to buy the biggest dang snowblower they could find.
The next year, we didn't have more then a 2 inch fall and probably 6 inches all winter.

Tell him Calculus was hard for me, but I still had a sorta successful life. Just not one in Physical Chemistry or any design engineering. A strong background in Trig is a big help. And doing all the problems, even with a tutor, is good. Prior planning and persistence yields success. My higher math skills were crippled by New Math.
Student write-ups are an issue. School Admins do not want to deal with a single one. Discuss, Document, and maybe they disappear. All mine are because of safety violations that I can not correct. I more than hold my own with any attempted disrespect, using skills from my Service time Prayers ascending for a good outcome for all involved.

He mostly works with the cats, but they do have some wonderful dogs there too. We visited him a couple of weeks ago. There was one dog that jumped straight up in the air without even leaning on the door of the cage. Her name was Autumn. Husband said "With the way that dog jumps it should be called "Spring". I laughed! It was a Terrier and probably a pit bull mix. Somebody' s going to get a handful with that pup but I hope she finds a home.I wish my son would go into a career with animals; He does much better with animals than people.

#2 son and I were talking about math and arithmetic a few days ago after I asked him for a simple math problem that I had already done in my head. He got his phone out to use the calculator and I asked him why he needed to do that when he was such a wiz at Trig and Calc. He says that higher math makes you think in a different way about numbers and that even his instructor uses a calculator for simple arithmetic. That doesn't make any sense to me but he understands that stuff way better than I do.

The biggest problem is that far too many people believe that Government Education is the Standard when it should be considered shameful and the last resort - sort of like an orphanage for war refugees.
We see this in housing and food, there is no shame any more in being a Section-8 or EBT recipient. Attending government school should be seen as being the bastard offspring of unloving and irresponsible parents.

Speaking of faulty advertising, I tossed my old Gillette Mach3 in the trash. I had been getting tired of paying so much for replacement blade cartridges anyway.
I replaced it with a vintage USA-made double-edge safety razor and Wilkinson Sword blades (make certain to get the German-made "Classic" and not the Chinese-made "Gillette-Wilkinson"). I discovered Wet Shaving Products and used one of their "Formula T" shaving soaps that features tallow in the soap. I got the closest shave I've had in decades.
There are plenty of alternatives to Gillette and their toxic masculinity(tm) add coincides with a renewed interest in wet shaving. So, their timing is impeccable, if their intention was to alienate an already unsatisfied customer base.

Apparently that is not unusual. My kid is in cal 4 and biochem this semester, and has no problem with differentials and theoretical math, but can't do simple arithmetic.

It's a good start - try adding some leek, topped with a few sprigs of fresh dill and coarse ground black pepper. Remember to simmer instead of boiling (or else it will get cloudy) and remove the leek and skim it before serving.

Yes I made the rolls. I over baked them since the directions said bake at 425 for 10 minutes then turn down to 400 and bake another 20-25 minutes. I cooked them for 15 more and it was too much. They did turn out well taste and texture wise. I will try again but adjust the temperature and time. We wound up eating meatball subs with them.

That won't work for far too many people. Parents/Guardians/Drugged-up-"adult" are usually not available during the day to provide overwatch.
Ergo, why we have these day-care centers, or kennels. How else are these kids going to get a meal to eat?

Well, yes; I think it's mental illness, not organic but instilled. I also think it's a spiritual problem. I don't think the people who say and think these kinds of things have any meaningful spiritual life because certainly Judaism or Christianity doesn't teach that, and people who were good parents without necessarily being religious didn't teach them that either.

I only click those on accident and my teen kids are even less likely to click. If their business model is "Boomers click anything" they should probably stop wanting them to die.
The new ads are even worse (Zips place is full of them). "Chilling last photo before tragedy strikes!" as someone is standing on the edge of a cliff/high-rise, playing with small sharks, etc. Uhm, the only tragedy is that they were so stupid they thought laws of nature didn't apply to them personally.
