Senior Official in the Trump Administration: Keep the Shutdown Going. We're Getting A Lot More Done Without #TheResistance Sabotaging Us At Every Step.

Only senior officials are at work in many departments, which means #TheResistance of do-nothing bureaucrats -- who are actually doing something under Trump, to wit, subverting and sabotaging his orders -- aren't present.

The official submitted this article to the Daily Caller anonymously.

President Trump can end this abuse. Senior officials can reprioritize during an extended shutdown, focus on valuable results and weed out the saboteurs. We do not want most employees to return, because we are working better without them. Sure, we empathize with families making tough financial decisions, like mine, and just like private citizens who have to find other work and bring competitive value every day, while paying more than a third of their salary in federal taxes.

President Trump has created more jobs in the private sector than the furloughed federal workforce. Now that we are shut down, not only are we identifying and eliminating much of the sabotage and waste, but we are finally working on the president’s agenda.

President Trump does not need Congress to address the border emergency, and yes, it is an emergency. Billions upon billions of hard-earned tax dollars are still being dumped into foreign aid programs every year that do nothing for America’s interest or national security. The president does not need congressional funding to deconstruct abusive agencies who work against his agenda. This is a chance to effect real change, and his leverage grows stronger every day the shutdown lasts.

The president should add to his demands, including a vote on all of his political nominees in the Senate. Send the career appointees back. Many are in the 5 percent of saboteurs and resistance leaders.

20 I think one thing that could come back to bite Trump is the TSA people aren't being paid, so a bunch are taking sick leave increasing pass-through times at airports.

Frankly, I'm all for scaling back the TSA/eliminating and replacing it with something less bothersome and hopefully more efficient (and actually able to find problems, 95% failure rate for TSA says what). But in the short run it could become a problem.

58 I was actually wondering about that a few days ago. Without the drones dragging their feet, I bet they can get a lot more done.

But here's where they should be taking notes: these are the people who were our biggest problem. FIRE THEM.

The shutdown is actually starting to bite some people a little, not a lot mind you. They've gotten to the point where they aren't getting paychecks now (although many, if not most, are paid monthly and already got their December check). This whole "I'm working without being paid" is largely theoretical to at least some, since they weren't going to be paid yet anyway.

The thing is, its hard for me to have LOT of sympathy for them, because many people live paycheck to paycheck without benefits and some aren't sure if they'll get a paycheck next time or if they'll even have work. I have a cousin who is a welder. He makes pretty good money when he works... but he doesn't always work. I write and illustrate for money but I never know if I'll have any money next week, let alone next month.

So this isn't exactly an inconceivable situation.

96 The only people I have seen on the news complaining about how the shutdown has hurt them have been activists.

You can always tell the activists because there is a light of joy in their eyes as they do their little academy award performance and ask questions about what they're supposed to do now.

I suspect it had any higher ratings at all was largely due to the Black Panther effect where a certain part of the population promoted and adored it not because they were fans or even watched it, but because they felt they were supposed to and it helped the narrative.

188 Fire TSA.

Make the Airports and Airport Commissions responsible for security. They hire the screeners. They hire the armed guards. They buy the screening equipment.

The TSA should set the standards and regulations for security. The local people should be responsible for EFFECTIVELY Implementing Security.

Last I heard, TSA missed 85% of the guns and bombs being smuggled by the TSA test and quality assurance folks.

Eighty Five Percent! 17 out of Twenty!

Return responsibility to the local airport. Make the standard 50%, which is still three times better than the TSA.

Don't meet the standard of finding contraband? You get one month to improve. Still don't meet it? Shut down the airport for a day. The airlines will force you to meet the standards. They cannot afford ANY shutdowns.

Get rid of TSA.

Posted by: Ignoramus at January 14, 2019 04:00 PM (iW7OB)
++++++++++
It's not about the money. If only the most expensive come back because of stacked seniority rules, then fine - whatever. Net reduction in workforce is net reduction in workforce. So few of any of them are doing worthwhile work. Shuffling it around and keeping the comparatively expensive folks by rule is stupid (a stupid rule). But it is, in the grand scheme of things, not particularly important and we will still see a federal workforce reduction and a lot of jobs closed down at that level. This is in all probability a net gain even with the stupid rules.

And yeah, Mulvaney is a badass and who knows what jiggery-pokery he can come up with. He is like the ultimate bureaucrat (and somehow, in this context, I mean that in a good way(.

343 The thing is, a female Dr Who doesn't bother me. The Doctor is not human, its a human-appearing alien. So what the doctor looks like is kind of irrelevant to the character, other than some amusing gags you could work into the story. But no, they had to make it WOMAN WOMAN WOMAN GRRRRL DOCTOR and that's just annoying.

The PC stuff makes it unwatchable to be sure (they had an episode about Rosa Parks). But Anna Puma made a good point the other day.

They're acting as if they're doing something bold, innovative, breaking glass ceilings, etc., etc. with a female Doctor. But it's ridiculous posturing because they've done this all before with Romana.

She was the Doctor's peer and they did the give-and-take in a very fun way - seeing the unflappable Tom Baker getting all taken aback because for once he wasn't dealing with stupid humans. And she had some zingers "I expect things get a bit foggy after the first 700 years".

Anyhow, I always got the vibe that they established Time Lords do have genders that persist through regenerations, the same as their memories persist. The Doctor, the Master, Romana, and probably some others I'm forgetting. So if they wanted a female Doctor, they should have given Romana a spinoff. Do the American thing: spinoffs!

It brings up the problem that wealthy women always run into, as opposed to men. Men mostly just want someone who looks great who will give them sex, easy to find if the price is right. But women usually want someone who is actually going to care about them, and the perverse reality is that the more money they have, the less likely they are to find anyone like that, as opposed to someone who's just looking to cash in and then hit the next 19 year old he runs into.

Pretty much. Just a cursory glance at most government employees (any level) is enough to tell you that they couldn't get much in the way of a job in the private sector - and they don't do much of anything in their silly governmental positions. Big thing at my doc's office is doing "mental health screenings". So wanted to reply with snark to some of the questions, by decided they probably didn't have a sense of humor about things like that.

525 This sort of thing happens all the time. There was a strike of hospitals by the interns in LA a while ago (years).

The death rate went down.

It's why you should never take those good sounding sabbaticals or special time offs even though you're getting paid. It gives your employer a chance to interview and test out your replacement while they have to hire someone to fill your spot anyway.

This is especially true if you work in a really good paying job that isn't all that hard and something any idiot can do.

526 Trump could post an RIF schedule, by agency, by the hour.

You want to save the Department of Education? Best pass the bill by 2 PM. Ooops. Whose next? Oh, Energy at 3 PM. Would be so sad to lose them.

+++++++++++++
Nah, just let them know after the letters go out.
"Today, we RIF'd Department of Education"

-------------

Except, AMAZINGLY McConnell and the US Senate actually passed a few budget bills for once. We can't RIF Departments that are actually working (ok, are showing up).

That is why we aren't worried about the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines. Those budget bills passed.

Nice attempt at male shaming though.

535 Oh and to all those who think they can just ignore those questions on their so called physicals (the ones where they don't examine you but ask you questions)?

If you don't answer or give a weird answer they will enter "answer not responsive" get enough of those and the doctor takes a hit on their 'point' rating with the medical association. They also take a hit if you refuse to even get a physical. Same for refusing some preventative shots and exams.

Eventually they will drop you and you will have to find another PCP (personal care physician) or you will have to justify to the insurer why you have refused to answer their questions.

Eventually when it becomes harder to find willing PCP's they will refuse to cover you except on an emergency basis.

I'm guessing that's one point on the way but it's logical as to how bureaucracy's work. Wait till they tell people who don't conform to the 'goals' the PCP has set out for their blood pressure, weight or other points they have determined you need to hit for the payment of your care to be justified.

Once they've made paying for a private physician, they will begin telling everyone exactly how to behave or else they lose their health care coverage.

Remember the Bible where it says all those without the mark will not be able to buy or sell? Yeah well that's going to apply to medicine first.

Yeah, but that's not 97% of government employees.
That's just 97% of those that made a contribution to a POTUS campaign --- and only a very small percentage do that.

It's safe to say that nearly all federal employees who are big into politics are lefties, but beyond that.... I dunno.

I think more people voted for Hillary in DC than actually live there and almost no one voted for Trump. That says something.

OTOH, the split might be closer to 50-50 among employees in Podunk, Arkansas.
I dunno.

Change the mindset. Focus for a few years on yourself. Lead. Avoid all temptation. Don't act like a hypocrite. Act and don't talk. Look for women in healthy places. Look for women who have functional good parents and family. Protect yoursefl. Don't ignore red flags.

I'm not saying the state of women is rosey because it's not. I am saying the tide is turning and women are thirsty for decent men to act and behave like decent good men and will likely follow. Also if you are a 5 don't feel like you are entitled to a 7 or above.

There is zero guarantee, but taking the black pill is worse. Like anything in life, the work you put in will be returned in some form.

I know for a fact that there are good single women in red traditional counties who have set the bar so low that you literally just have to be healthy, work any job, be faithful, and don't use and abuse drugs and alcohol.

I give him some credit for recognizing what the internet could be (although many before him tried the same thing, even intenet "malls" in the Compuserve days). Sears, Wards, etc could have been there, but missed the boat, stupidly. But honestly it wasn't that big a leap to see that online banking and sales were going to be the future, just about everyone thought so.

He was just the one that managed to figure out how to get investors to stay with him despite losing money every year for over a decade.

The Bible and the old ways is new age? Are you effing kidding me? Acting in a masculine way is new age? Being and acting right wing is new age. Being right wing is the new rebel and counter culture, which women are attracted to.

Nothing new age about my approach and change over the last 6 years, it's the old ways and Biblical. It works.

554 Close family worked for Bezos, the culture at Amazon revolves around his views of business, some peculiar, like desks made of old doors and sawhorses, to cutthroat competition between teams.
For twenty years or so Bezos didn't spend much corporate cash on civic welfare (if any). I bet the ex will rule the left coast as civic doyen giving away Jeff's money to every charity worldwide.

555 This official sounds very fascist. I could easily hear these words from Lenin, Marx, Stalin, Hitler and other fascist leaders. People who don't agree with me are deplorables as Hillary Clinton said. The Republicans and Democrats are the same extreme and polarizing fascists. Now we have them engaged in a battle over nothing. Neither party wants to do what is best for our great country. If you choose one of these sides, you will be against the best interests of the American people!
