Fusion GPS was exposed for the peepee party dossier, their handler was relieved of his position at the top of the FBI, the President and his voters were openly furious with them, and the House Intelligence Committee was investigating them.
Any normal company, so deeply implicated in such serious crimes, would pause political activity. Or, just dissolve and reorganize like ACORN did. Instead, they turned around and directly interfered in yet another election. These are the actions of people with less-than-zero fear of the law. Anybody read that book about Theranos, "Bad Blood" by John Carreyrou? People who had worked for Theranos and were talking to Carreyrou said they were being surveilled and intimidated by unknown individuals. As I was reading it I realized those thugs were almost certainly Fusion GPS operatives. The link? David Coie was heavily involved with Theranos (much more so than the other well-known board members).

Yep, the answer as to how we got here is not simple, but a big part of it is also the answer to why Jones beat Moore. The voters. Whether the disappearance of standards started with the electorate or not, it's the electorate that allows it to continue (hell, rewards it). Enough of the medieval peasant act - blaming dark unseen forces. The electorate has shown it can be ignored, abused, bamboozled, rented, and otherwise made to support the degradation of the country. There was even a recent election, you might have heard about it.

Sadly, Ben Franklin was prescient.
Several people, including Montesquieu wrote all about how a republic survives and what kills it in the past. Socrates taught Plato about it centuries before Christ was born. Tyrannies require a populace that is dominated and characterized by fear -- fear of their rulers, fear of each other. Monarchies require a populace that is dominated and characterized by honor -- the honor as characterized by their monarch and between each other. Republics requires a populace that is dominated and characterized by virtue. That has been systematically obliterated deliberately and with full knowledge by the left. The cartels, coyotes, and MS-13 are murderous animals. They *do* kill more than just a few Americans. They just found the bodies of two boys out on the Mesa here and for all we know their murders were related to gangs that operate in that sphere. They ALSO kill, rape, sell, torture a whole lot of people who aren't American citizens. Anyone who is arguing against treating this as a problem is treating those victims as having no value as well. Not-a-crisis-Acosta not excepted. And that's not even starting into the big "jobs Americans won't do" thing that liberals like to trot out as if it's an actual argument in their favor. "Oh golly! Jones, who registered TDIP on Jan. 31, 2017, told the FBI in late March 2017 his organization had hired Fusion GPS and Steele, a former MI6 officer, to continue investigations into Russian meddling in the U.S. elections that began with funding from the DNC and Clinton campaign. Jones also told the FBI the project had received $50 million in funding from between seven and 10 wealthy liberal donors.IRS records suggest TDIP did not receive all of that funding at once. Information from the nonprofit's tax filings show the group received $9 million in 2017.
Around the same time as his meeting with the FBI, Jones reached out to Waldman, an attorney with a myriad of links to players in the Russia saga. Waldman represented Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska and has apparent links to Steele. Waldman told TheDCNF Jones told him that Fusion GPS was involved with TDIP. He also said Jones claimed Soros had provided funding for TDIP's anti-Trump operation. Bloody fucking hell. Posted by: mikeyG at January 11, 2019 06:43 PM (LL1Be) 153

OT: DeSantis did actually s**t-can the loathsome idiot Broward Sheriff. Replaced him (assume it's temporary?) with police chief of Coral Springs, the town whose police actually finally intervened at the school (and I think it was a Coral Springs paramedic who was early on the scene and was stunned the Broward sheriff's people were doing nothing, contradicting established procedures for the situation, and by doing so blocking him from doing *his* vital job).
But will the education chief, deeply implicated in the crime-cover-up program that helped produce the killer (his ability to legally buy a firearm, at a minimum), Runcie, also be canned? sundance pointed out that when Trump backed off on declassifying the FISA warrant(s) on Carter Page that he specifically included concerns raised by our allies in his decision. I think it's likely that some of the info used in the warrants either came from foreign intelligence agencies and/or was laundered through them. It may take decades for the truth to come out, but come out it will. I think they feel the need to sit on it because if people finally see the full scope of what was done there will be a great deal of violence (and maybe Trump likes having the...trump card of holding it over their corrupt heads).
