Even fellow CNN host Chris Cuomo, who's usually equally unhinged, wasn't buying it. The look on his face when Lemon suggests a delay is precious -- it really should have it's own "Wut?" speech balloon. "He has his right to make the argument to the American people," Cuomo said. "And by the way," he added, "wanting barriers along the border is not propaganda. It's not immoral, it's not wrong."

I'm not surprised at Don Lemon- I still think the President needs to seize a broadcaster, just to make clear that the American people retain control over their public airwaves- but I am super excited about Chris Cuomo. Between him and multiple House Dems claiming the barrier really isn't -that- bad, it is a clear sign the Dems are desperate to deal. Speaking of BP and the Gulf, the Macando well disaster was basically a worst-case scenario for what can happen there. It wasn't a good thing. There are some modest long-term consequences. That said, we (both the government and industry) actually did very well with that catastrophe (the giant cash extraction notwithstanding, but that was political and not practical) and we learned a helluva lot about what to do (and not do).
I have very little concern about widespread Gulf oil exploitation after that. Disaster is always possible, but we learned a lot about how to deal with it.

Graham didn't give it to her like Trump would have, but he made the point that this is how negotiation works.

Those highway sound barrier "fences" would be difficult'ish to scale.
Any wall is defeatable, but right now, the bigger problem is that hundreds of people are walking unimpeded across the border at virtually all times, which makes it damned nearly impossible to even begin to staunch the bleeding.
If there were a barrier in the way to slow that down, along with cameras, and sensors and whatnot, border patrol could more efficiently intercept people.
All of that being said, the bigger issue is and has always been internal enforcement. Something like 40% of all illegals just ... overstayed their visa.
Flew in for a quick vacation and never left. And no one did anything about it.

70% of African-Americans in the US have one or more white ancestors. And most of that ethnic mixing happened long long ago, pre-1865. How did that happen? Well, obviously, white slave-owners having sex with/raping (however you define it) their female slaves, and then refusing to acknowledge the pregnancy or child, which is then brought up in the slave quarters -- a light-skinned "black" slave.
Multiply this by dozens of generations and you have the modern population of the US, in which 70% of people identified as "black" are actually the descendants of white slave-owners, while only 3% (according to most estimates) of white Americans are descended by white slave--owners, since the vast majority of 21st century white Americans are descended from 19th-century (post-slavery) immigrants from Italy, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Poland, Ireland, Italy, etc. etc.
So, not only are American blacks descended from African slave-traders, they're also descended from white American slave-owners.

Because yes, that would be both difficult to ascend and descend safely.
And yes, I, too, would be terrified to be on an aluminum ladder that high up. Would have to be fiberglass. But fiberglass ladders are much heavier, and I don't think I've ever seen a 50 foot fiberglass ladder.
And descending the other side would be fun, too. Would require some kind of pulley system.

With NYC now pushing for healthcare coverage for illegal immigrants, and Gavin Newsom taking the same fight to '11' in CA, this is the welcome mat to have those folks rush to those (and other) blue states ASAP.
If we don't win on the issue currently winding its way in the courts about getting them counted in the next Census, blue states will only get more congressional representation in the future. Add ballot harvesting to the mix, and if you think that SALT was a great red state giveaway to blue states, this will be for all the marbles.

I don't think so, because by their positions they have backed themselves into a corner. They have said "no wall/border security funding", period. This has worked in the past, but they still do not understand who they are dealing with. PDT holds all the cards here.

We did UNITAS XX back in 1979, which included a West African Training Cruise.
Race relations on the ships was still at a low boil at times, and fights on the Mess Decks was not unheard of.
Many of the black crew members took the tour of the the village the Roots was supposedly based on.
Came back very quiet, and didn't seem to want to leave the ship in Africa for port visits after that.

I think this speech is about reframing the conversation.
The conversation as a whole seems to have moved to whatever damage the media can find from the shutdown. The random campers who died on federal lands. Federal workers going without paychecks.
As long as stories like that top the headlines, the narrative is about poor federal workers and their jobs that aren't getting done.
Trump going on TV and talking about illegal immigrant crime puts it out there to a very broad audience and gets the media talking about that instead of federal worker pay.

Proven fact that people (both male and female) have more positive feelings about those who are attractive (regardless of their gender) than those that are neutral or negative.
It's why the term 'Pretty Prince(ss) exists. Guys or Gals that skate through life on the basis of their looks. He'll say what he needs to say and nothing else.
8 minutes is actually a long time for prepared remarks. In extemporaneous speech there are more and longer pauses. If you are reading a written text 8 minutes is like 8 pages of a book.

I have met some VERY vapid, humorless bartenders with the personalities of wet farts.
Young with ample titties will get you hired into a bartending position even when you cannot pour a proper beer.

I was in Traffic Court once because I got stopped and didn't have my insurance card on me. One of these deals where you go to court with the card and say "See, I was insured" and they let you go figuring you've been punished enough by having to show up to court. While waiting for the judge a quite striking young lady walked in. Long hair, gorgeous face, fantastic figure, the whole bit. She started to ask some questions about how to deal with the ticket she had gotten. There were a few lawyers there and they were all falling over themselves to give her advice. It became apparent from the conversations that while she had often been stopped due to erratic driving habits this was the first time she had ever been given a ticket. She was absolutely clueless about the concept that yes, you get tickets when you break traffic laws and yes, you have to pay them. The consensus among the rest of us was that she had had the bad luck of finally getting stopped by a female cop!
