Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Oh: "Republican" PAC That Attacks Republicans Turns Out to Be Bankrolled By... Liberal BillionairesWhat a surprise. Lot of this going on, huh?A prominent 'Republican' women's political action committee that regularly receives national media attention for its criticisms of President Donald Trump and the GOP is bankrolled by three liberal billionaire donors and activists, Federal Election Commission filings show. Republican Women for Progress, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit, was founded by Jennifer Lim and Meghan Milloy, both former employees of Republican organizations. The duo also previously founded Republican Women for Hillary and spoke at the Democratic National Convention in the past. ... Despite Lim's claim that they were supported by donors across the political spectrum, the PAC does not show any Republican contributors after Hoffman's initial donation. The PAC pulled in an additional $200,000 from Kathryn Murdoch, the progressive activist daughter-in-law of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, and $400,000 from Daniel Tierney, the president of Wicklow Capital, a Chicago-based investment firm, filings show. Both Murdoch and Tierney are major donors to Democratic campaigns and PACs.Hey, I wonder if any of these public-spirited billionaires want to buy a used magazine, slightly worn, barely read? The fact that Trump had won after a particularly obnoxious 8 years of Democrat power apparently eluded them. Kathryn Murdoch is an advocate for aligning economic and environmental health. . . Through the Quadrivium Foundation, which she founded with her husband James Murdoch, she aims to apply these successful approaches to a wider range of societal challenges. As an active Trustee of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) since 2009, Ms. Murdoch co-chairs both the Communications and Oceans committees. . . After being elected a Visiting Fellow at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at University of Oxford in 2011, Ms. Murdoch was the Director of ReSource 2012, a conference that brought together investors with more than $5 trillion under management with thinkers from business, finance, economics, military and government sectors to discuss the challenge of delivering economic growth and greater global prosperity in a world of increasing resource scarcity. . . Between 2007-2011, Ms. Murdoch served as Director of Strategy and Communications for the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) where she also managed CCI 's partnership with Microsoft in the development of a global greenhouse gas emissions tracking software. . . It wasn't just theft by Barry and Crew... Congress routinely gave Ofuckstick more money than he actually asked for. In fact one CR had something like 250 extra million dollars designated for "general use" which Ofuckstick handed out to groups like LaRaza, LouLac and PP for walking around money. A good change for tax law would be the elimination of non-profits and tax-deductible donations to non-profits.
The commies are using this as a convenient way to fund themselves and dodge their taxes, what a great twofer. Even "legit" non-profits are extremely profitable, paying their management beaucoups bucks. Take a look at what the heads of the Boys Scouts, or Girl Scouts, or any of the animal protection charities pay, it's millions per person when you count all the various forms of compensation like salary, pension, health care, housing, free cars/insurance/gas, entertainment budgets, etc. Posted by: Boots at December 17, 2018 01:45 PM (jRkIE) 126

Conservative organizations are sellouts. But maybe TWS will start a new trend. When these organizations are tempted to sell out to leftwing donors, they'll realize that it will end in their own destruction and they will refuse to take the bait. They will know that their base will eventually see through it, and when they've outlived their usefulness the donors will drop them.

There already is a Database for Progressive causes that has all this data in. Its a non profit called the Catalist Database. Huh. My mileage varies. I don't think he'll be seriously primaried at all. I also don't think he'll win a second term, and I don't think his loss is gonna be close, and I don't really think the identity of the Democrat makes very much difference to any of the above. Among some mutants on this blog, that makes Zod an "eeyore," even though none of it pleases me. Zod owns the insult.
Posted by: Zod at December 17, 2018 02:14 PM (Bdeb0) He may still win a second term but I wouldn't bet money on it like I would have even 6 months ago. I believe that the long term goal ( if they can't oust him) of the Dems, the media and the GOPe is to simply make everyone tired of Trump--tired of the drama, the conflict, the noise-- the endless stress. It doesn't matter that THEY are the one's causing all that; just like with violence caused by them at his campaigns was tied to him. I predict that the eventual Democrat nominee will run on a "Let's Get Back to Normal" platform. And frankly, I believe a majority might just buy into that. No impeachment likely to happen, and certainly no conviction. Contrary to Limbaugh's musings (and Steyn, in for him today, in just a 45 second riff I caught in the car, displayed more wit and understanding and punch than all of the rest of "talk radio" combined, it was hilarious/depressingly accurate), it's not about "approval ratings" being in certain areas.
The idiots have no even remotely plausible basis, one that would really sell even to dumb Beltway types, much less regular Amuriccans, and politically that matters. But none of that really matters. All that matters is whether - as Steyn was laying out, implicitly, this morning - the still-dominant electorate on select key matters can find a way to impose its will on "representative" govt. I don't think that question is still open. 2010 to today, on certain issues there has never been the slightest doubt as to big majority preferences on many key issues - but action on those items has still been almost nil. Some institutional recovery - the judiciary edging back towards rule of law, reining in the worst outrages of the last few decades, and DOJ/FBI/IC being seriously cleaned up - could slow the descent. But both of those elements remain longshots, at this point. Posted by: rhomboid at December 17, 2018 02:32 PM (QDnY+) 299
