Happy Sunday. Hope you all have as good a day as I plan to have, or at least no worse a day than mine will inevitably become once all the plans hit reality.

1 Good Morning Morons today is Sunday, December 2, 2018. On this date in 1823 in a State of the Union message, President James Monroe proclaimed American neutrality in future European conflicts, and warned European powers not to interfere in the Americas. This became known as The Monroe Doctrine.

10 Once again The Hill is FOS. They say Trump will have a hard time getting his revised NAFTA treaty through the House now that the Democrats have taken over. Since when did the House get a say on treaties? And even if they did Trump could just pull an Obama and not send it at all. And the Unions communist leader is saying it gives too much to Mexico and not enough for US workers? Where was that sorry jackass at when Clinton gave them even more? The new treaty is more level towards the US. It just shows you that the unions are, in fact, just a wing of the Democrat Party.

I say tough shit if they don't have earthquake insurance which would probably be very expensive in CA. And it is not like "flood insurance" that the real estate developers got passed. Homeowners also don't cover damage from tornadoes which we have here but I don't expect the feds to pay for it. Maybe they should huh, I get to pay for everyone else's mistakes.

50 I would assume that most people who live in an earthquake zone like CA and AK would have earthquake insurance. but if it is very expensive they probably wouldn't. That is why most people who lived or built on the East Coast had no flood insurance before the feds stepped in in the 60s.

It's OK to print nice things about Republicans as long as they're dead. In 70 years or so, Democrats will become ashamed of the things they used to do, handwave about a 'political pole shift', and claim that Republicans back then were really Democrats and the people who did the bad things were really Republicans.

85 I like to read fiction novels with historical facts included, it seems that rioting was pretty common in Paris before WW2. Communist vs Socialists vs whatever. The army was called out often to protect the French National Assembly, then Hitler came along.

I'm not sure I can think of a WWII combatant in Europe that didn't have regularly scheduled riots for years prior, now that I think about it. Spain got into it so hard they didn't even bother to show up for the war.

No worries on me doing that. I was once waiting for a left turn light and watching a guy work the 2 lanes of stopped traffic next to me. Guy was walking with a limp that would have made the Hunchback of Notre Dame say, "That poor man"
Light turns green, traffic starts moving, the guy straightens up, walks to the curb, fires up a smoke and saunters back to light to do it all over again.

Not a problem until they start gathering in packs.

Locally they are sort of protected. There is a hunting season, but very restrictive in how you can take them. But if they are causing property damage it's a free fire zone.

Or, something else that happens is you condition a wild animal to be friendly with food and it loses its instinctual fear of humans. Someone else sees the same animal, hanging around, no fear of humans, has their own pets much smaller, figures the wild animal is rabid, and shoots it dead.

Don't ask me how I know this.

I looked it up and a site that specializes in insurance said the standard homeowners insurance did not cover tornadoes. You must not have the standard policy. Now hail and wind damage ARE covered by the standard policy. A bunch of my neighbors got new roofs after the last hail storm we had.

A less energetic sun -- which we seem to have right now -- also doesn't sheer off cosmic rays, pushing them away from the planet. Instead they hit our atmosphere, create clouds which then dump on rain prone areas.

But we can't factor that into any global warming models because Al Gore never upgraded his Commodore 64 memory. So we're stuck with one variable, carbon dioxide. Which is an insult to science.

Problem with a lot of atmospheric "science" is that it involves a massively complex system, one key part of which is a sustained, but not perfectly constant, nuclear reaction roughly 93 million miles away. If you throw in the earth's atmosphere, and a surface that is almost 70% water, you are just starting ti unravel the variables.
Yet puny political minds are trying to figure out the science of how to get the maximum graft out of solving an ill-defined problem on the backs of taxpayers.

Vic - This seems to explain it working backwards:

The F2 layer is found about 200 miles (320 km) above the Earth's surface and can reflect radio waves back toward the Earth. When the layer is particularly strong during periods of high sunspot activity, FM and TV reception can take place over 2000 miles (3000 km) or more, as the signal effectively "bounces" off the high atmospheric layer.

/ So I imagine the inverse also works... periods of low or no sunspot activity retard the 'bounce' back to Earth.

249 Here in the Berkshires, we have had more steady rain this year than I've seen 25yrs. Which is great for my trees and plants. I have 1000s of perennials and about 300 young trees. I have a 600 gallon watering rig and usually have to water through the summer. Had to water twice this year. And usually the river at the end of my drive is usually down to 1-2 ft deep but now at 3-4 ft.

NAFTA is gone, the China reset, which includes NAFTA though many don't realize it, is well under way, global warming is for all intents a dead issue for economic realignment and US foreign and military policy is in a 180 from where Obama left it.

Couple that with all the progress he has made with the economy, energy policy, illegal immigration, restocking the courts and de-nationalizing our police force and whomever comes after him will be handed a completely different world with the US firmly on top.

Liquid Tide (currency of drug dealers). Pre-treat with Spray'N'Wash. You will probably need to wash multiple times. DO NOT dry in dryer between washings; that will only make the stain harder to remove.

357 Ken Barry. The scene that ever pops first in my head was one from F-Troop

Some German was visiting and Jane was swooning. Dude had a scar on his cheek. At the time, I thought, "just like GI Joe!"

Parmenter decides he needs that badge of manliness, so draws his sable, looks in the mirror, and steels himself to slice his cheek.

Jane walks in and catches him, nearly causing him to actually cut himself. He stammers and says something about that's how he shaves.

I was about 8, so yeah, funny.

Because, if it was just Wilbur, you know, the whole thing could be just his delusional fantasy.

"VideoShop" an episode where Wilbur is talking to the horse, but the horse is just moving his mouth, not saying anything. Wilbur was a complete nutcase.
