One of the things Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan's new democrat governor beat her opponent, AG Bill Schuette with was his joining in the lawsuit of numerous states to roll back Medicaid expansion. I must have seen(despite trying to avoid local tv) 50 repeats of her commercial claiming Schuette "wanted to remove health care insurance for 450,000 working families in Michigan." Notice how the claim is always "working families", as if these are 100% made up of mom and dad and two adorable children.

Her platform? Straight out of Occasio. She advocated free college, universal health care via Medicare for all, minimum wage at $15, etc. She used to be , about six years ago, the mayor of a very small town, where her politics would have NEVER gotten her elected. So she kept them to herself until she decided to run six years ago against said House Rep. She was defeated, and then ran for Michigan House . Won that seat, then totally came out full force for socialism this year when she decided once again to run against said House Rep. She lost.

The judge said "due process" hadn't been met because Acosta was notified by Tweet, lol. I guess I can see his point. I trust the WH will have its act together before this goes any further.
In the meantime, I would like them to temporarily restore Acosta's hard pass (because they have to), but simply not hold ANY press conferences until the matter is settled. Just release statements. Kind of like Obama did for the entirety of his regime.

They learned their lesson in 2016: they didn't cheat enough. So now they're going to cheat harder, and since they aren't being in any way punished or stopped here, in 2020, it doesn't even make sense to vote. Trump could win by 20 million votes and they'd recount and invent their way to a win for whatever human detritus makes it through the clown car mob that the Dems throw up.

I believe Congress passed some stupid law years ago that required the WH to have an entire process in place to revoke someone's press pass that included notice to the employer of said journalist with time for rebuttal, etc. That law was challenged in court and of course, since most of our judges neither read or support the constitution, it was upheld, even though it is clearly an infringement on separation of powers.
I don't believe anyone has ever taken it to the SC.

I had emergency surgery to avoid sepsis, was in the hospital for a week, and am now trying to schedule a second operation to finish up what they couldn't wrap up during the emergency surgery because I was too sick.
I believe Boulder Terlit Hobo also had a recent round of this. Trust me, the ER hassle is a lot better than what the alternative can be.

The election was not great, but taking the long view, it was better. It is already causing Pelosi to sputter even more. And to assume that there's not going to be blowback for either not voting for her or voting for her after stating you wouldn't and then following her agenda will prove to be a good thing for the Rs.
Trump's 2020 run will fuel turnout and in doing so, down vote balloting for Rs. We have seen the true colors of many a "conservative" the last two years and this is a good thing.
Finally, let Cocaine Mitch do his thing regarding judges. Not casting negative, but hopefully he gets another SC appointment and the filling of lower courts will continue apace. Thank you Harry Reid !!

The judge didn't say they had to let him in because of freedom of speech, he said that they can't kick any of the ones they let in out, without some procedure and advance word. The Morning Report yesterday linked to an article where a moderate announced that he was going to run against a hard-left candidate for Seattle City Council.
A deluge of threats on social media followed, targeting the guy, his family, and specifically his young children, naming the school that they go to.
He has since withdrawn from the race.
The left-wing weekly paper in Seattle wrote an article about this, and a number of commenters were completely unrepentant about what happened to the guy - if a candidate isn't a left-wing "progressive", any tactics used to drive him out of the race are justified.

In my opinion the core of our problems are that our society has been dumbed down by our public schools and our idiot loving culture for generations and we now have an electorate that is comprised of a good number of people operating on a 4th grade level of understanding of history, civics, economics and pretty much everything else save for popular culture.

I am a little skeptical of that, since Iceland is part of the mid-Atlantic Ridge, which is a spreading center, and the basaltic magma there does not usually cause explosive eruptions. This isn't a new idea. There are certain intellectuals who do debates on college campuses - they used to take live questions, but they stopped that. The people in the audience asking the questions were so rambling, incoherent and beligerent, that they adopt the policy of making audience members write their questions on index cards which are then collected at the end and read and answered by the debaters.
People are too narcissistic to realize when they are being rude or obtuse or taking up too much time. This is a human problem, Acosta is just an exemplar.

You pay federal taxes, you get to vote in federal elections.
You don't pay taxes, are on the dole, or get a tax refund, you don't get to vote.
This is so common-sensical that many judges will rule it unconstitutional.

We should have had the hot civil war back in the 70's.
But the American people discovered Xanex and Zolof. Pot has become acceptable. Too many people are too high and/or tranquilized to fight.
There's generally no sense of sacrifice for doing what is right.
And schools are churning out millions of little marxists every year.
I'm not optimistic about this country.

I wrote 2,000 words 25 hours ago exactly about what thoughts just ran through your head - how coincidental - later I read the same elsewhere. There is a quickening. I am forbotten for sharing it. It is bad. I spent 30 minutes and distilled it to this paltry form by removing many key points and rendering it like the other useless, futilere, repetitive arguments we make day after day (basically I sold out to the man)

So it's not surprising the wall openly requested will be hard to procure.
The Left screamed for single payer and came away with a slow walk to it. (Hmmm.. piecemeal... interesting synonym for step by step)
One disparity is that, unlike Obamacare, there aren't many more extreme believable starting positions than wanting to enforce a nation's borders, or verifying citizenship to vote.
This may be a fundamental disadvantage for the right in this game we are choosing to play ( that being being pinned against a wall of tradition and sanity - metaphorically speaking ).
Invertebrate representatives don't help either, of course.

I'm by no means a professional at this, I'm a mechanical engineer, but I have had some Persuasion training and some Ericsonian hypnosis classes.
So, from that, I would bend their victim claiming along the lines of Kanye's reply when he was in the Whitehouse and asked about racism. Flip it to a question that assumes the person claiming victimhood in actually charge of their own failings
"Are you going to stand there and let racism (or whatever it is) hold you back?"

Shadow of the Thin Man - My wife's uncle composed music for that film. David Snell. He was mostly a band leader back in the 1930s-1950s but also composed music for MGM.
He wrote a song for a boxing film that Myrna Loy starred in called The Prizefighter and the Lady (1933). It was forgettable and he was a mediocre composer but my mother in law still gets checks from ASCAP for royalties. The movie The Prizefighter etc was also pretty mediocre.
