Reporter asks Michigan Senate candidate John James -- who could, maybe, win -- for an interview, then leaves this on his voicemail: "Man, if he beats her [Democrat Debbie Stabenow]... Jesus! F*cking John James. Whew! That would suck! I don't think it's going to happen though."The reporter was fired for her lack of professionalism, but I'm sure the nominally right-leaning Cuck Commandos will start white knighting for her. They always defend liberals' free speech rights. Liberals, and their fellow cucks. (Note there may be some slight overlap between those two categories.) Conservatives' speech rights, on the other hand? Then you get the Muh Private Businesses Can Do Whatever They Want speeches. Oh, and this is pretty amusing:

To be fair, there has never been anything close to a neutral, balanced, unbiased press. The difference, however, is that idiots and leeches weren't allowed to vote and American society was, in general, more sophisticated in terms of understanding their own government and more mature, In the old days, an 18 year old was, without a doubt, an adult and had put away childish things. These days, you can find 45 year olds who still suck their thumbs ... in public .. and are proud of it.

Democrats are like disco fanatics butt hurt after that scam was blown up by punk rock. Posted by: Donnie Rotten There's this sort of historical mass-mis-remembering, where people say that punk rock was a "reaction" to disco and eventually crushed it. But actually, disco and punk emerged almost exactly simultaneously in the mid-'70s, not as a reaction to each other. At first ('76), punk was mostly a reaction to stadium-rock and prog-rock -- not a reaction to disco. it was only about two years later, ca. 1978, when disco really peaked as a mass movement, that the punks turned their wrath toward disco and made every song a "disco sucks!" song. But even that didn't stop disco's momentum. It get going, healthy and popular, until the early '80s, when it mainly just faded away naturally as a no-longer-relevant genre. Electronic dance music (which itself was really just the evolution of disco) and hip-hop killed it eventually, not punk. Since you're very insistent in moral relativism and that we can't make moral judgement about whether things are "good" or "bad" beyond what the majority of people think, and the majority of people are seeming to support Trump, what sort of moral claims can you make about that state of affairs? A summer of smug Lefties lecturing Republican senators and House members and senior administration officials. In restaurants, airports, and at political rallies. Yelling and screaming and ordering paying customers and their families to leave the buildings. Millions of Americans saw that and said to themselves "if they are willing to do that to political leaders, what will they do to me and my family?" And not a peep from senior Dems to rein in the radicals. And then there's the attempted murders and powder poisonings. Can't wear a MAGA hat. Can't put a Trump bumper sticker on a nice car. Have to whisper during a political conversation. Can't have a conservative Youtube channel for profit. Can't make money with a conservative Twitter account. Can't have FB page for revenue if it has a conservative POV. And Krugman doesn't like us.

Electronic dance music (which itself was really just the evolution of disco) and hip-hop killed it eventually
I think the actual progression is more that New Wave killed disco as listening music, and then New Wave spawned EDM, which displaced disco at places of dance after disco had lost ground to hip hop and... whatever borderline new wave/disco things like Was/Not Was and Men Without Hats are. They really do seem blind, too. Ezra Klein wrote on Vox recently about how the news media is in a lose-lose situation wrt Trump. They either refuse to report on him, and so don't report newsworthy info, or they do and people believe him when he tweets "fake news".
The media used to have a stick here: negative coverage. Sure, you could get us to cover you by being outrageous or offensive, but you wouldn't want that kind of coverage. That kind of coverage could destroy your career. The cluebats are swarming over him, and he can't see for the blotting of the sun. Hi All. There is a Go Fund Me page set up for the surviving girl scout from Saturdays incident that killed 3 other girls and one of their Moms. Her medical bills are huge. Please donate if you see fit. Also, your continuing prayers for the dead, injured, and the families are greatly appreciated. https://tinyurl.com/y7abppxd
Madalyn is extremely lucky and is continuing to fight. She has already gone through open heart surgery, has 2 broken legs (needing multiple surgeries to try to fix), a displaced pelvis, a broken cheek bone, a broken wrist, a broken arm, cuts in her kidney and spleen and many other cuts/bruises. It was noticed there is a small amount of bleeding in the brain which is going to make the stay in the hospital a little longer. Unfortunately she won't be able to stay in the hospital too long because she needs to get back to doing what she loves...riding horses, dancing, singing, gymnastics and putting a smile on everyone's face. She was originally taken to the hospital and prior to putting her in the CT Scanner she was asked her name and replied "My name is Madalyn, I'm strong and I'm going to get through this". I don't know how polling places are during midterms because I've always voted before or after work in the past. Based on past performance in Omaha, I would say exceptionally busy for a midterm election. OTOH, there was the state wide question on whether or not to expand Medicaid in Nebraska. Pretty hot issue which might have brought out extra voters.

The problem is that its a polarized media that continues to pretend it is unbiased. And that is what is truly dangerous. Posted by: buzzion at November 06, 2018 03:24 PM (zRwJ/) ============= I think the problem is that one side has so much power over the other. That's equalizing (has been for decades now), but the fact that the Left carries so much more cultural power over the right (and is losing it) creates a poisonous culture on the left that they force on the rest of the country. I'm okay with a highly partisan media bickering all the time, even those that sort of try to hide it. It's the power imbalance, and the ongoing correction to that, that seems to be the source of a lot of the issues with the modern day press. Heh. As I was leaving my polling place (after being in line one hour....which has never happened), there was a Muzz woman and someone I took to be her feminist "handler" standing stone-faced in line. One of my neighbors was standing in front of them, and I told him the wait was about an hour, and the Muzz woman gasped, "ONE HOUR?!?" good people
I've been slowly going through Lincoln's writings and speeches, and everyone is "bad", that is, flawed, in important ways. Lincoln was continually saying really racist things... and then concluding with amazingly good and righteous stuff like: I hold that he [the "Negro"] is as much entitled to these as the white man... in the right to eat the bread, without the leave of anybody else, which his own hand earns, he is my equal and the equal of Judge Douglas, and the equal of every living man. The difference between Lincoln's and Douglas and the other Democrats was that Lincoln held to what we consider today to be conservative values. Lincoln's conservative values allowed him to rise above his flaws, where his contemporaries lacking those values fell below their flaws. The Left has made it clear that you are literally a Nazi if you vote for this. So here's my anecdotal tale of voting this morning. In the 30 years I've lived here (in VA-4), I've NEVER had such a problem parking. We were lined up through the church hallway. After handing over my license to the two women who would check me in, another precinct worker came over and took their stack of blank ballots. Seems they were for VA-7, Dave Brat's district! Apparently the mechanized vote reader spit out the VA-7 ballot, which alerted the monitors!

A neutral balanced unbiased press was a key component of the balance of power of democracy.
Bullshit. Never existed. The "key component" is the multiplicity of views among different newspapers, and that no longer exists. Fox is not terribly different from the Daily News. It's the single view among all the press that is different, the total dominance of a far-left perspective (and not just left-center) that is different, and very dangerous. I don't believe the press has ever been non partisan.
what has been true is that it was balanced between the mostly dual positions. And no party was cast as the guiding post. of course the parties did partake of one or the other positions. It's the total surrender by those in the press to the left's agenda. Either because of indoctrination in college or high school or because they were surrounded and finally gave in.
