The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

It is hard to admit we are sexist. I, for instance, would like to think that I possess genuine feminist bona fides, but who am I kidding? I am a failed and broken feminist. More pointedly, I am sexist. There are times when I fear for the “loss” of my own “entitlement” as a male. Toxic masculinity takes many forms. All forms continue to hurt and to violate women. George Yancy, Professor of Philosophy Emory University

Quote II

“In 2018 our ruling class, in unison, set out to destroy all but the biological life of a political adversary. It substituted vehement assertion for truth, cast aside argument, foreclosed questions, celebrated its own deed and vowed to persist in it. “ Claremont Institute Senior Fellow Angelo Codevilla

Quote III

It assumes his usual above-the-fray pose, as if he’s looking down on us unruly ruffians. We simply need to stop all this unseemly disagreement and – what was it? – oh yeah. Heal.

I don’t want to heal. I want to crush the leftist creeps who hate me. Kurt Schlichter

Quote IV

Then too, given the overwhelmingly biased, dishonest, and incompetent media, it is only too easy for people to believe the moralistic simplifications that are constantly disseminated. In this regard sportswriters are predictably baleful. Turn on ESPN and lo, there they are, those squeaky-voiced, effeminate liberal men offering their worthless two cents on “racial inequality.” (So faithful are these spineless bores that Rich Lowry, Ben Shapiro, and other lefty hacks may wish to recruit them for Conservatism Inc.) France's economic woes are over with. Their strife with Muslim immigrants has come to a stop. Now they can tackle their last big problem, mocking regional dialects.

Reuters reports that Laetitia Avia, a member of the French parliament, has said she is proposing a bill that would classify mocking a regional accent (so called "glottophobia") as a form of prohibited discrimination.

Avia’s proposal comes after former presidential candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon, a long-time member of the Socialist Party, mocked a journalist’s heavy accent by asking if someone else had a question in “understandable French.”

Avia said she and other members of France’s ruling party would be proposing legislation to save people from public humiliation.

This position is so f*cking stupid. Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity, what good is inclusion and diversity if you ask students to "sign a pledge promising not to appropriate any culture."?

"The Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity invites students to a discussion about awareness of cultural appropriation on college campuses, and the social effects appropriation creates," the event description reads. "Students will have the opportunity to sign a pledge promising not to appropriate any culture and may also buy a shirt from the office for $5 in the Brew

Ransom Olds, an American invented and patented the assembly line. Guess people who aren't Americans using anything built on assembly line are appropriating American culture and should be ashamed of themselves.

Once again a school pleads "ignorance". Anti-firearm PSA filmed in CA school.

The Washington Times confirmed at the time that the ad was filmed at the North Oakland Community Charter School in California with the school’s permission. The school’s executive director noted though that officials hadn’t been aware of its controversial content when they’d granted permission.

The content is controversial because it encourages children to partake in crimes — including “weapons theft, illegal concealed carry and carrying a weapon on school property” — and places kids at the risk of becoming school shooters or falsely being labeled a school shooter.

Imagine a pro-life PSA being filmed in a school? Ha, are you kidding me.

Remember your health insurance plan before Obamacare?Whatever happened to the promise of "if you like your plan you can keep your plan". Seems The JEF is busy lying again.

Via Daily Caller:

Former President Barack Obama lamented the state of political rhetoric in the U.S. at a rally in Wisconsin on Friday, saying politicians are “just blatantly, repeatedly, baldly, shamelessly lying.”

Obama traveled to Wisconsin to campaign for Democratic candidates including Sen. Tammy Baldwin, gubernatorial candidate Tony Evers and others. Obama accused Republicans of lying about healthcare, namely that GOP politicians would protect coverage of pre-existing conditions.

Should we get into healthcare pricing promises President Four-Putt?

They were invaded. They were subjected to the scourge of communism. Now they want compensation. Baltic countries looking for payments from Russia.

The leaders of the Baltic nations have declared publicly that they doubt their people will be compensated for ‘Soviet occupation’ damage.

Viktoras Pranckietis, speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas, said the Baltic countries “hit the wall” every time they tried to raise the issue of compensation for occupation damages.

“Perhaps we should set ourselves goals that we can achieve,” he told reporters, reported The Baltic Times.

Dear Baltic Countries,

Please don't hold your breath.

Modern day love. Old fashioned guys aren't so bad after all.

I didn’t normally go for guys who said things like, “I’m the man.” I usually fell for men who didn’t argue when I said it was my turn to pay for dinner. These men noticed my intelligence before my looks, or at least they said they did.

If one conducts a thorough background check, wouldn't an attempted murder charge show up? Genius Award Winner

YONS, Ill. (WLS) -- Parents in west suburban Lyons Township School District 103 are demanding answers after a teacher was hired despite a charge of attempted murder against him. The district has since fired the teacher, but there now calls for administrators to step down.

At a school board meeting Monday night there were many angry words and parents up in arms.

"We got a teacher that shot somebody seven times coming here to teach? Shame on everybody!" said Bob Floss, Lyons real estate agent.

Imagine if they had said the science was settled. It isn't. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

For a decade, Roy Palmer had multiple sclerosis and no feeling in his legs. The 49-year-old father had to use a wheelchair to get around.

But last year, he received a life-changing treatment called HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation) that restored his ability to walk.

Palmer heard about the treatment in a BBC program in 2016.

"Two people on that program went into Sheffield Hospital in wheelchairs and they both came out walking," Palmer said.

"As soon as we saw that, we both cried," Palmer's wife told the BBC.

The Official Opinion of Vendette.

Machado is this year's version of ARod 2004. ARod did that "smack the ball out of the glove and be shocked when called on it". Machado has done worse in these playoffs by stepping on a first baseman's foot not once, but twice.

Not cool. I'm sure that he'll rake in a bunch of bucks as a free agent, but I hope his future manager will cut that crap.

Given that Massachusetts is a state as blue as it gets, the Red Sox really should change their name to the Blue Sox (actually, there was a minor league team in Toledo, Ohio, between 1883 and 1885 called the Toledo Blue Stockings; it was noteworthy for having black as well as white players on the team).

I think the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning on Pitt's campus are safe for the time being. There are 30 of them; they were furnished/donated to the university by the ethnic and national groups that contributed to building the city of Pittsburgh, and have been designated a historical landmark by the city. Most of the Nationality Rooms (28 of the 30) are used as classrooms when Pitt is in session, but people can tour them when they are not in use.

Images and short videos of the rooms are available on the Pitt website at https://tinyurl.com/y7t9rasd

The committees of the various Nationality Rooms continue to sponsor various events that showcase their cultures. The most recent was a Celtic Culture event on October 14, sponsored by the Welsh, Irish, and Scottish Nationality Room committees.

I do hope this particular feature of the Pitt campus will not be demonized/destroyed by SJWs.

Posted by: lin-duh at October 28, 2018 10:31 PM

We're hoping it's a jammed baby tooth. Vet thinks she's a little older than we thought, maybe 10 weeks, so hard to tell. The dogs are starting to accept her, cats maybe. Her interactions are all supervised. I wouldn't say the wife has completely forgiven me, but the cat will stay. She seems to have a scarily accurate precognition of how things went at the MoMe.

162 I understand, but if he's doing well why not keep him in? Yes, it could go badly, but I think managers are playing the stats too much, just like the hitting tendency is going towards home run or not at all.
Posted by: Vendette at October 28, 2018 10:30 PM (tT986)

That used to be the philosophy, back in the day: you stayed in until you lost effectiveness or started walking guys. Then that hairball Tony LaRussa came along with his 100 pitch shit. Now if someone throws a meatball for pitch 101, everyone howls for the manager's head for leaving the guy in too long.

I suspect that a big factor is the stock analyst effect. If you go against the perceived wisdom - I'm laughing at the use of "wisdom" in reference to baseball guys, who are notoriously stupid - and it works, you're a genius (luck notwithstanding), but if it doesn't, you're fired.

OTOH, if you go along with the herd, and it doesn't work out, you can always bleat that everybody thought your move was smart, and you'll probably keep your job.

In this context, I always think of Jeff Vinik 20 years ago, when he was managing Fidelity Magellan fund. He thought the market was overbought, and liquidated a lot of holdings. Then the market skyrocketed, and he was out on the street. Six months later, he was vindicated.

Moral: there's safety in staying with the herd.

BTW, this is nothing new for France. THey've always been insane about
their language. Back in the 70s the French had some weird thing where
they declared computer languages couldn't use keywords from other
languages (not that keywords tend to even be whole words ... but still
...) so whiel the rest of the world was using the computer languages
developed in the English speaking world (America, mostly) French
programmers had to do some weird workarounds to have frog keywords in
their source code. It cost them quite a bit and hampered their entry
into tech. Typical French.

I had to deal with a French (four months outside of Paris - yay) firm that was doing some control stuff for a big-ass installation at my firm. The programming was in FORTRAN, and the variables were in French. That was interesting.
Two funny stories related to that. One guy was part of the crew to come to the States for installation, and he marveled about the four-way stop signs. He said that wouldn't work in France - everyone would try to go first. LOL.
The second story was that this guy was excited to spend a long weekend visiting Quebec. When he got back, he sadly informed me that 'they really don't speak French there'. That cracked me up.

Don't have to go back that far. Back in the day, striking out was a no-no. When you had two strikes, you choked up and put the ball in play (the "choke and poke," which Freddie Freeman still does).

Now, there's no opprobrium attaching to striking out. Guys come out of their shoes swinging at third strikes.

Of course, back in the day, guys could bunt, too, and failing to get a bunt down the first time was a no-no. And if you bunted a third strike foul, you just ran down the baseline and kept going.

I'm helping my nephew out with his math. They taught him basically nothing in elementary school. It was awful. And he thinks that his teachers are geniuses.

The new curricula are awful. The idea that they ever needed to change instruction for material that, itself, hasn't changed in centuries is pathetic. Of course, colleges do the same thing with their math courses. Same stuff but they demand that the students buy different books or different editions to go over the same exact math, much of which hasn't changed since the 18th century.

It's one thing to rip off college students - they're adults, after all, but what they do to the poor public school kids is criminal.

And I won't even get into the gender insanity that seems to be washing over everywhere at light speed. My sister-in-law is livid about what they are trying to teach in middle school about this insane shit.

> I have a 14 year old son who is autistic and non-verbal. Last fall, he got very ill, and after being rushed to Children's Hospital LA with what they told me was "probably leukemia", they discovered that what he actually had was flesh eating bacteria - started on his backside, and had migrated into his insides. After a 6 hour emergency surgery, which included removal of a large portion of his little butt and a big chunk of his bladder...16 days unconscious on a ventilator...2 more surgeries including a colostomy...and 2 months in the hospital, we brought him home. He was unable to walk for weeks, and they inserted a feeding tube through which he now has to be fed...autistic kids are notoriously bad eaters, and his poor nutrition habits contributed to the bacteria ravaging him so completely - his body just couldn't fight it. So flash forward a year, he's through the worst of it, but still will literally eat nothing but mcdonalds French fries. Which is fine since he gets his nutrition thru his tummy tube...except for the past 4-5 months, he all but refuses to let me feed him. He's 14 and almost my size and if he doesn't want to do something, it's not getting done. His health is starting to suffer again, his doctor is at a loss, and the only option we've been given is the possibility of "inpatient feeding therapy". Insurance doesn't cover it and we have a $950,000 bill from CHLA staring at us already. When he first got sick, his team at school set up a gofundme acct, which I'm going to include here, even tho it makes me sick to do...any and all prayers/assistance would be appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. www.gofundme.com/pullingfortyler

The problem is simple: education majors are dull, generally speaking. They're sensitive about it, and hence go in for all manner of nonsense, by way of a pathetic attempt to prove they're bright.

I saw this most appositely in looking at the chemistry textbook of one of our kids. Page 70 talked about atoms, and page 71 talked about glycosidic linkages in DNA. WTF?

Why? Because the comrade authors were all high school teachers - i.e., washed out of graduate programs, and ended up teaching HS in Hemorrhoid, ND - who wanted to show that they shouldn't have been washed out after all, and so they racked up the level way too far, way too fast.

I went in to see my kid's chem teacher, who (implicitly) agreed with me, and said that they didn't teach pH because it was too difficult (?) for the students. pH was too demanding, but glycosidic linkages were A-OK? Which is more important?

A Belgian friend of mine called up a Canadian consulate in the US. The person who answered said: "Hello from the Canadian consulate, how can I help you?", in French.

So my friend thought "Great", and immediately launched into French to describe the issue that she needed the consulate to resolve. It turned out the Canadian diplomat knew only enough French to answer the phone, and had to embarrassedly ask her to speak English.

361 I'm beginning to realize that my advancing hearing problems are not all because of me.

People are talking in such different patterns of cadence, rise and fall on syllables (or not), high pitched and 'frying' sound (mostly from females), along with a rapidity of verbiage that overwhelms my capacity to understand because I'm missing so much of the words that I lose track of the rest of what the person is saying.

This is of course exacerbated by dealing with people on the phone or some other means of electronic processing (say through a speaker at a drivein window) as this chops a lot of the harmonics off the tops and bottoms of frequencies and along with not being able to see the person speak is also deleterious.

But then I'm not married and there's probably a reason for that. Other than my not wanting to pollute the gene pool any further.

It turned out that it wasn't accent - mine was unchanged - but rather cadence and inflection that had changed, the better that people understood my speech. In short order it changed back.

Jeeze, that's stupid. I agree that it's stupid, but disagree on the negative log business. Chemistry is a quantitative subject; there's no getting around it. If they taught pH without getting into the negative log aspect, i.e., using pH values effectively as ordinal numbers, they might as well use letters, and talking about pH A being more acidic than pH B.

But if the kids (teachers?) are too dumb for the math behind pH, what are they going to make of glycosidic linkages in DNA? The Guevara spawn did OK in the subject because he was almost eidetic memory, but wanted no parts of chemistry thereafter, and of course has long since forgotten anything he was exposed to then.

Great job, education majors.

You may have heard a native Quebecer. Mangled is how they speak it. And our education departments, in English Canada, in their infinite wisdom, require that all students take at least 2 or 3 years of high school French, invariably taught by teachers with a perfect Parisian accent. Why not have Quebec teachers teach it as she is spoke, by Gar?

I took French right through high school, and always got B grades or better. So I go to Sturgeon Lake, Ontario, and work on a site with half a dozen French diamond drillers. I got about one word in ten. Great guys, but they were not speaking Parisian French, not by a long shot. Cajun French is closer.

I believe they lowered the mound in the late 60's, just because of Bob Gibson. I like pitcher's duels but I wouldn't want every game to be one. And to people new to baseball, pitcher's duels are not interesting. It just looks like nothing is happening.

The game has swung back and forth between favoring the pitcher and favoring hitters for a long time now. In 1920, they started making baseballs out of different materials and guys (including but not just Babe Ruth) suddenly started hitting them out of the park.

445 I agree that it's stupid, but disagree on the negative log business.

Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at October 28, 2018 11:31 PM (YqDXo)

You have to teach the derivation eventually, I agree, but you can get the kids using pH in practical experiments without them knowing that, and once they get used to using it in some ways, then teach the theory behind it. Go from the practical to the theoretical, and then back to more complex practical, informed by the theory.

They also have some Caribbean islands, a huge chuck of territory in South America, Clipperson island... not to mention their territory through the rest of the Pacific and Indian oceans.

Of course, the Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, and Danish also have territories outside of Europe.

When the E.U. self-destructs, we must be prepared to seize all their non-European territories... amongst other contingencies.

492 3 I ran across this thing about the advantages and dangers of escalators.

My brother almost lost his foot (or a severe mangling) as a little boy. Still recall it vividly. The thing that saved him was my mon had put him in rubber boots that were too big, so he had his shoes on under them. It chewed off the front part of his boot (it was still too big) and gave my mom time to pull him out. It ate his boot. It was scary bcz there were a lot of people behind us pushing forward. She only saw it out of the corner of her eye.

Like I said, I remember if vividly. It was at the top of the escalator. He was on the left, I was to his right. I think it was the crowd that pushed him to far left (innocently) He was a little boy and was totally clueless.

Boy, I'm chatty tonight.

Fun fact about Deion's mother. She used to work at the hospital my dad was comptroller of, and she and Dad used to have lots of conversations about Deion. She'd say to Dad, "Mr John, that boy is my meal ticket for the future." Because Deion's dad wasn't around, and his mom worked at least two jobs, she used to send the Ft Myers police or Lee County Sheriff's department after him when he wasn't home on time, to make sure he didn't get into trouble.

One thing I will say about Deion: when he made it big, he took care of his mother. Beautiful home here - with a pool that spelled out "Primetime" on the floor of it.

Well, of course...the tech oligarch was gonna go after it. They can't allow it...no free enterprise there. Also, it messes with their social engineering.

However, I do know some of those who were championing Gab went off it when they allowed doxxing. People here too talked about it and tapped out when it happened. Especially bcz some even went after their places of employment. That is not exactly protecting free speech. That is punitive and suppressing it through fear. Don't know if it has changed.

Well, to be fair, the "mechanically unreliable" part can mostly be blamed on the cheap-ass cars they made for the export market to North America, especially the Renault models.

I have a 1960 Panhard PL17 sitting in my driveway, and it has a 2 cylinder air-cooled hemi head engine of only 850 cc's, and it makes 50 horsepower at 7000 RPM. Roller-bearing crank, don't you know? That's close to double the specific output of a 283 Chevy of the same year.

I don't think she is. The Democrats base of power in the 6th is in Roanoke City, and for a Democrat to run well in the district, they need to be from Roanoke, she isn't. Luckily, a few years ago, the Roanoke Valley got split into the 6th and 9th so we should have GOP congressmen for those 2. I don't know how much Corey Stewart will hurt the down ticket Republicans in the state.

The one district that I'm watching is the 5th. It's a strange bird. The retiring congressman is a one termer GOP who took over for a 3 term GOP who defeated a 1 term Dem who defeated a 6 term GOP in 2008. That district stretches from Danville to north of Charlottesville, and in 08 that Charlottesville-Danville duo was what led to the upset. The current critter is leaving because he is an alcoholic and used his DC staff to run personal errands (they all do it, but it's only bad when you hire shitheads that don't know that) and that set off a kerfuffle. The Dem chick is a stark raving moonbat, but it all comes down to if the kids at UVa register to vote there or at their home districts.

If you look at his justifications of each state back in 08 and 12, he would discount polling company X in state A, and tout polling company M in that state. In state C, he would tout polling company X and discount M. Why? The Obama internals he was getting lined up that way.

559 And then there's the Muslims who are actually practicing a form of invasion.

Their religion predicates them converting the entire world to Islam. (they never stop to think how bad this would be even for them. Most all Islamic countries are poor and backward)

The South and Central Americans are also practicing a similar ideal of transforming the US back into the original Spanish culture that first seized it in the 16th century.

Yes Virginia, the Hispanics are the offspring of vicious Europeans who stole the land from the helpless Indigenous peoples.

Which is why there's two types of hispanics.

1. are those who descend from mostly european stock and they stay in their country because they are the elite and have the most privilege (heh)

2. those descended from mostly indian stock and who are the poor and the farmers and the laborers. There are way too many of them due to cultural and religious reasons so they have to dump their excess.

On us. They too don't think about what would happen if the country turned all hispanic.

Down the tubes they'd go.

Generally they have created a culture that doesn't do well with creating and maintaining technology. And yes that's stereotyping but stereotyping exists for a reason; it has some basis in fact.

ME ppl are notorious for lousy maintenance. Hispanic are notorious for procrastination and hair trigger violence.

This does not bode well for a cooperative technological society to grow and expand.

So they would take over and the infrastructure would start to deteriorate and eventually the Chinese or Japanese would take over. As they are already doing.

Bon appetit to you who will live to 2050. A turning point I believe.Come piss on my grave when you find out I'm correct.

But Hong Kong is a trading economy. Manufacturing is a very small part of what Hong Kong's about.

There is always going to be outliers. But neither of the central american countries have a large enough economic base and resource availability to ever become a large country like the US.

And thousands came from and still come from Hong Kong.

there's ways for small countries to get rich but it's tricky and takes foresight and planning and investment. No one wants to invest where the gov't is unstable. And corrupt.

568 And I would add that Central and South American countries have the historical advantage of being situated very close to the greatest economic engine the world has ever seen. If they could just keep their countries from being total shitholes and work to be friends with America (which we have always tried, as we always just wanted to do business with everyone and anyone) then they would have economies that would be going gangbusters just from the wake of ours.

The greatest example of this are the two countries that border us. One has a tiny population, pretty bad climate, and not much to attract people, but it's rich as all get-out (all their main cities are right on our border). The other has a decent sized population, tons of natural resources, easy access to two oceans ... and is a total shithole that just ekes along and does everything it can to antagonize us and get us to blow the shit out of them.

600 How is it that ppl with phd's and very smart are unable to see that true freedom and liberty stem from letting ppl do what they wish with only a few limits.

Someone always thinks they can do better or are smarter.

And it is amazing how smart guys from the 18th century had such a good grasp of what true freedom was and what it could mean.

But there's always folks who want to control others actions. For whatever reason. Usually to them a good one. Or one that seems to be good.

Best thing is to leave stuff alone.

To me Heaven is where there are few laws or restraints but very quick response to violence.

Hell is where every action is choreographed morning noon and night. There are no choices, there is no new thought, everyone is the same.

It makes me feel like weeping sometimes.

Many of these "small" countries are not that small. Honduras and Guatemala are significantly bigger than, say, Austria and nearly 3 times the size of Denmark.

As you point out, it's the instability and corruption that keep these places down --- and those problems hurt LARGE countries just as much.

606 Americans have little concept of how the rule of law and the rights of property have made the US what it is.

They've never seen what happens in Europe and other places in regards to property rights and how justice is administered.

Because of our laws we also have enforceable contracts. Without some way of redressing a violated contract growth is nigh impossible. No one will invest their money for fear it will be stolen and lost.

They should spend some time studying histories of other countries and how they do things NOW compared with the US. They would be surprised how tricky it is to buy and sell and own property and not get ripped off.

America is an investors dream. And that's one of the keys to our richness.

Start screwing with the rule of law and make it capricious and unpredictable and our economy will disappear.

618 Netflix has new episodes of "Rake", an Australian comedy/drama about a dissolute lawyer (err...barrister). Anyway, it is season 5 and now the main character (Cleaver Greene) gets elected to the Senate on a platform of saying and doing nothing, and winning because of the confusion between him and the Green (two 'e's) Party.
The American Secretary of Defense comes to visit Australia to sign some pan-Asian treaty and decides to go missing on a days long bender. (Anthony Paglia is the actor - damn he porked out - lol). They make the unnamed President into a warmonger and idiot (surprise, surprise). However, all of Paglia's Secret Service detail and mincing ponces with women's names (Carole, Ashley, Ellen, etc....).
In spite of the minor intrusion of the crazy lefty thought, it was pretty funny. They were much harder on their own political system re the satire.

619 Socialism has only 'worked' when it has a growing economy to parasitize.

Either itself or a foreign source.

I know what you mean though it's not in their interest to have educated voters.

It's f**king criminal.

I can understand the frustration that affects those who go off the deep end and start shooting. But that never helps anything but at this point it's difficult to have patience and hope for the right conditions to come to the fore where things can be realigned. And you just wonder if that will ever happen.

I have faith that things to swing back and forth and no particular evil seems to maintain a grasp for infinity but it seems a long time (all my life) where it's been one threat after another with little time or money to actually make things better.

But that sort of frustration is what drives so many on the left into doing what they do. They think they have the answer and want it implemented now and anyone opposing them is evil.

And some are tagging alone for the power and the position and the money.

I looked up some stuff today and realized this crap has been going on for thousands of years. Faction fighting. Revolution, counter revolution, counter counter revolution etc.

We're a sick species that seems to be unable to find it's place.

Scariest thing I ever saw, well the aftermath not the event itself, was this time I was at Shea attending a Mets game. Me and my friend had just gotten off the escalator on our seating level and this father comes running by carrying a screaming (about) 6-year-old boy. As the father runs past, we can see the bottom of one of the boy's feet had been sheared off by the escalator, leaving the bones to his foot exposed on the underside.

Personally, I've been very careful on escalators ever since.

Working at home is pretty cool, especially when you look out the door on a cold winter morning at the frosted over car and walk back and crank up the computer and monitors and get the coffee going. The bad part is what no one ever considers...you are always at work!

Look at counties without basic property laws that allow free and clear titles. And a court system that allows rightful owner rights. Main reason this is not taught as it is directly opposed to the usurpers of land in local, state, and fed government. Imminent domain for many projects is just transfer of wealth from middle class to the state or the rich.
