Morning Report intro.jpg

Good morning and welcome to the Morning Report without the lovely and talented J.J. Sefton. You're stuck with me or some other unsuspecting Cob for the next few days.

Unless you've been off the grid the world famous Maverick Sen. John McCain (RINO-AZ) passed away over the weekend. My thoughts, Attempt to be nice during the comments.

7 From the gun free zone link.

"I am sure the anti-gunners will yet again Blame the Gun, and then claim all law-abiding gun owners are to blame. Isn't that interesting. When an Islamic Terrorist blows up something, we are told that not all Muslims are terrorists. When an illegal immigrant kills a young American student, we are told not all illegal immigrants from Mexico are killers. Yet when a crazy violent psycho shoots someone with a gun, then all gun owners and the NRA (and it's members) are to blame and should be punished. It is a clear double standard."

40 I notice that lanny davis, cohen's attorney has backtracked on every single claim the he made about Trump.

The reports about Trump knowing about the meeting with the Russian spy got "garbled" and cohen can't confirm that Trump knew about the meeting ahead of time.

Now he has walked back his claim that cohen told him that Trump knew about the hacked emails ahead of time. Turns out it was his "instincts" that led him to make that statement.

Whatever is going on cohen's and davis credibility has been shredded and they are of no use to meuller. However, the damage has been done and the LIV's now think that Trump is an unindicted criminal.

That's a very good illustration of the left's hypocrisy and Fens law but the fundamental problem is that the left doesn't care about their hypocrisy or consistency and who is going to hold them to it anyway?

The GOP?

The Media?

The Media are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party, Mueller and his bully boys should look into that since they seem to be fixing on campaign contributions now.

And...

The GOP is a useless pile of dog shit.

A bunch of NJ schools have dropped football due to plummeting participation rates due to demographic change.

Mexicans play European kickball and don't give a crap about Football.

As the US becomes an Hispano-Asian shithole, Football will be the biggest loser in this demographic change, followed by Basketball as those two groups don't generally have the body types to play those sports.

When my daughter was young I sent her to a private school because the public schools here were such crap. Unfortunately the only private school in town (secular) ended after the 7th grade. When I asked the superintendent of the school why they ended at 7th grade he said that parents wanted their children to play football and be cheerleaders which their school was too small to support.

This is where I determined that parents around here cared more for sports than they did an education.

That NC Register article that MisHum linked is very difficult to read, but necessary. I'm about to read the 11-page letter upon which the article is based which I know will bring me even more heartbreak.

By the way, the NC Register is a very reliable Catholic reporting source.

182 It's interesting to watch ESPN do their best to kill football and baseball. Meanwhile they flog you with basketball and soccer. Soccer participation is dropping in this country as well.

Part of what is killing youth participation in sports in this country is the professionalization of youth activities. Tons of practices, year-round requirements, and tons of traveling are driving parents and kids away. In a lot of schools, you aren't going to make the HS team unless you've been playing since late elementary school and been doing it year round.

It is a disincentive. But it's beyond the cost of even having the baby. To raise the kid you have to either move to a good neighborhood or pay for a private school while paying to educate the rest. Then you have to have health insurance for you kids which is higher because you are supporting people that don't pay into the system. It's a death spiral.

Some cable service have tried that, but the unbundled channels simply raised their rates through the roof for each channel.

And the high costs are not always the cables' fault. The local cities, towns, and counties see them as a golden goose to pluck for franchise fees. I dropped my cable after they were bought out by a new owner and the city raised the franchise fees before they would transfer the license. And those fees applied to me even though I did not live in the city.

Okay, given that most things reported about the Pope, and that much of media is fake, I don't know what to make of that. Except for the fact he hasn't said anything. Which he should have.

But let's be clear - the Papacy has known about the sickness in the US church for over 25 years. I am not Catholic, but I thought JPII would come over and bring the banhammer after the NE reports were made public. But he was too physically ill, apparently. (Though he could have banhammered from Rome, so not sure that is sufficient excuse).

265 UN "report" accuses Myanmar military of genocide against the Rohingya, demands they be brought to trial before the ICC. Good luck with that, assclowns. Given the UN's record on human rights and Muslim bias, I wouldn't bet that a single page of it is true.

And in any case the whole Myanmar action against the Rohingya was instigated by Rohingya terrorist attacks in the first place, so I don't see what the big deal is with leaving the situation as it is now: they've fled to Bangladesh, which is a Muslim majority country. Just let them stay there. When two parties hate each other that much, they'll be happier in the long run getting a divorce.

Europe should take careful notes. Europe's Muslim population is for the most part discretely separated, as was the case with the Rohingyas and the Myanmar Buddhist majority. Europe should start to think about simply saying "enough" and driving them out of their countries, like Myanmar.

I didn't start playing club ball until I was a sophomore in high school. By the time I hit my junior year of college, I was burned out. I couldn't have a job because it was a job. I went to two Katy high school practices this week. Lots of normal sized kids on that team. They would be one of the teams most people consider a Mega High School in football, a perennial Texas power house and one of the top teams in the country (2015 "National Champions").

Katy doesn't cut players, if you do the work, and obey the rules you get to be a Katy football player. In fact, the program does the most good for the kids who aren't starters, how many people get a chance to participate in something done at world class levels?

335 311 I think the problem with football (and a lot of other things) is the rise of Mega High Schools. My class had 270 kids. I graduated at 5'-7", 115lbs with 5 varsity letters. Nowdays, only giant mutants may apply. I went to two Katy high school practices this week. Lots of normal sized kids on that team. They would be one of the teams most people consider a Mega High School in football, a perennial Texas power house and one of the top teams in the country (2015 "National Champions").

On the other hand, we've got a couple mega high schools here in my East Texas county, and it was only a couple years ago when the 5 *Teenaged* offensive lineman for one of them averaged 350 pounds each. These are teenagers, remember. Well, this part of the state is known for sending players to the pros - Patrick Mahomes, starting QB for KC this year, was a local hero.

362 On McCain:

You're life is the sum total of your experiences and contributions. McCain served, did his job and had a bad day. McCain and a lot of other people experienced the hazards of being a warrior.
But most of them didn't ride that experience like a one trick stomping pony to stamp out any real philosophical objections to their stupidity or use it as a foil for every intellectual objection to their personal predilections.
Most of those warriors also were not self centered arrogant assholes who trampled across Washington with reckless irresponsibility along with cohorts like Ted Kennedy.

McCain used his ill temper and political office to squash othe POW-MIA investigations back in the 90's and sold out those men and their families. There are a lot of people who served during the Vietnam era who have a special picture of him in their commode. It's why you won't find him lionized in any VFW Hall- more likely the dart board.
The Keating Five scandal was the height of corruption, cronyism and contempt for the American people- yet he persisted. How he didn't get thrown in jail to this day is a mystery.
There's a reason he graduated almost last in a class of 900. He was just another silver spoon in mouth, not so smart son of a military dynasty. His career consisted of being shot down and held as a POW. Think about that for a minute. Then think about the other men who handled that much more valiantly and honorable, some of them killed by it.

He proved his self centered, arrogant, ill tempered personality right until the end. He never relinquished that senate seat which belonged to the people, not some self serving, sociopath jerk who turned his service into a cheap carnival barking act.

I hope he rests in peace and his family get some modicum of solemness. But don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining. His life wasn't this selfless fairytale people are making it out to be.

364 American Hero, American Heel
John McCain Was Both

It took real guts to fly combat missions over North Vietnam, especially under Lyndon Johnson's policy of "Don't Win, But Don't Lose". Nobody can take that from him.

And his children have turned out well. That speaks well of the man.

But there is no getting around the fact that his politics, especially in recent years, have been disgraceful.

"I'm John McCain and I approved this message."

That's the signature line from McCain's signature bill, the Campaign Reform Act. It was meant to stop unaccountable smear campaigns by faceless politicians.

Yet that is exactly what McCain did when he conspired with Brennan to spread the Trump Dossier. Supporting sedition by an anonymous rogue National Security Apparatus is even worse than attacks by anonymous politicians. McCain's role was both hypocritical to his own stated principles and anti-Constitutional.

He told voters that if they re-elected him, he would be "leading the fight to repeal and replace ObamaCare". Instead, he screwed over millions of families for personal pique.

His office conspired with Lois Lerner to have the IRS harass the Tea Party. Anti-Constitutional if not illegal.

He famously said "We have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency". He was wrong about that. too. We had nothing to fear from a patriotic black president, but not from Obama, who did vast damage.

He expected Republicans to support him when he was chosen, which we did--but failed to reciprocate when we chose Donald Trump.

It was a slur against America to equate the targeted discomfort we did to Khalid Sheik Muhammad to get bin Laden's location to the sadistic free-for-all inflicted at the Hanoi Hilton.

And he left Arizonans without a senator for a year, treating his office as a hereditary baronet. That's against the republican nature of our country and putting self before service.

In the end, the Swamp Drained Him. He lost his way.

There's been an awful lot of that going around.

"McCain became the chief symbol of Russophobia," Rossiya 1 television said, adding that he "couldn't stand Russia's independent foreign policy".

McCain "adored war. If you haven't been killed yet, that's not McCain's fault. He tried," wrote pro-Kremlin tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda in a biting editorial.

Accusing the former Navy pilot of lying about being tortured while being held prisoner during the Vietnam War, the popular tabloid concluded with the hope that McCain is now burning in hell.

443 I'd be nicer to John McCain if real conservatives like Maggie Thatcher and Ronald Reagan got respect from the Dogeater's minions. But the reason you don't speak ill of the dead is that they can't defend themselves. Obviously, Sidney never had that problem, so fuck him.

He betrayed the wife who loyally waited for him so he could trade up to a pill-addicted beer heiress, and the Reagans rightly never forgave him. He betrayed his country by aiding the enemy with propaganda, where real men did not. He further betrayed his fellow soldiers by being a bottom 5% classman who stumbled from disaster after disaster as a pilot thanks to his admiral father. He betrayed the soldiers YET AGAIN by abandoning the POW/ MIAs by the side of John F. Kerry. He betrayed his voters on Obamacare and immigration. He betrayed his VP candidate when she was the only thing between him and a Mondale wipeout. He betrayed the American people by running a deliberately inept campaign against a Kenyan socialist traitor. He betrayed his President, Donald Trump, despite Trump being more popular than he ever was. He even betrayed Keating after taking dirty money, just to save his own ass!

John McCain, man of honor. Fuck him and fuck his goniffs. Condolences to Meghan McCain.

If there isn't he lucked out.

That there is a lot of division re his death and just deserts is an indication of his less than stellar personality and integrity over the years.

Yes when he was younger he was brave.

Did that carry over into his Senate career? Apparently not.

He maintained an above average ego and arrogance that seemed to become more and more hard fast and nasty as the years went by. He saw his supposed dream of power shattered twice and was mean spirited enough when given a second chance to try and hurt those who were mean to him the first time.

Petty and pusillanimous. He could've been a big man but he chose to be a big prick.
