5 Rob Emanuel is catching a lot of grief for blaming Chicago urban violence on a lack of morals and character. As predicted by Patrick Moynihan, I blame it on LBJ's great society and war on poverty. A lot of us will cheer Rob Emanuel's problems and likely defeat at the polls, but remember, he will just be replaced by someone who is the same or worse.

7 Virginia communist Sen. Mark Warner on Friday said he plans to present an amendment preventing President Trump from 'arbitrarily revoking security clearances'. This idiot knows that such an amendment is unconstitutional, however no person of his political party gives flying rat turd about the constitution. But he also knows it hasn't got a chance in hell of passing and probably will never reach the floor. But all he wants is publicity from a far left MFM.

Am I missing something here, or is this another trademarked Trump Trap maneuver? Why give him a heads up? Intentionally force his hand to gobble up as much intel as he can, but feed his suspected sources fake intel to help continue mapping out who's in bed with who in the Swamp? Figure out any unknown inter-agency shenanigans?

Or is this just how things are done?

Pretty sure Ohr has been busy being interviewed by the OIG for the past year. He's already been demoted *twice*. Ohr's fully aware his goose has been cooked. This is Trump letting the rest of the world in on it and that he's probably also the next to be fired.

Have to say, Trump has been quite effective at Alinsky-ing each of the conspirators (pick a target, freeze it, polarize it), introducing each of them to the public via twitter, foreshadowing their demise, and then stepping back and letting their bosses drop the hammer. He's putting on quite a show.

Simply reply that with the media's recent attempts to Doxx Jurors, you feel threatened and intimidated.
And therefore are unable to perform the duties and responsibilities of an impartial Juror.

Given the sky-high price of an NFL excursion, the increasing risk of crowds, the unavoidable political correctness of the announcers, players and now the game itself (concussions...) I submit that by the end of Trump's second term, the NFL will be begging for paying customers to come help the owners belt out the Star Spangled Banner before, during and after the game.

The first time, I thought that it'd be a good way to see the justice system in action. No action other then people not showing up for their trial and the judge apologizing to us for wasting our time.

133 Interesting day yesterday. On the phone and I hear what sounds like a geyser in the kitchen. Water everywhere. The cold water filter under the sink blew a connection. Come to find out we had a pressure surge on the incoming water and it was strong enough to break the fitting on the filter. The filter was removed and will not go back in.
Plumbers checked our fire sprinkler system and it was reading a pressure of almost 120. They like to see it at 80. Fire sprinkler company wants it at 95. Husband released pressure from it and it's back to normal.
We knew when we moved to the Dayton OH area that water was not an issue. We have more then we can consume. Had no idea that these pressure surges are common.
Lucky for us this didn't happen when we were out of town for 2 weeks.

135 Elon Musk might have gotten himself into a huge heapin' pile of trouble with his comments that there might be a private buyout at a much higher than market price, which sent the share price soaring, briefly. The problem he now faces is that there is a huge short interest out there in his stock - that is widely known, as is Musk's battles with those who hold it. His comments caused them to lose millions of dollars, but IF he just made that story up to give them trouble, then that is stock market manipulation on a major scale and Musk has just committed a serious violation of federal law.

One of the first things Obama did when taking office was to remove nearly all of the 1998 Welfare Reform reforms - work requirements, time limits, etc. It was reported on at the time, anodyne and tepidly.

We're actually back to the pre-reform system for all intents and purposes.

Am I missing something here, or is this another trademarked Trump Trap maneuver? Why give him a heads up? Figure out any unknown inter-agency shenanigans?

Or is this just how things are done?

212 re: Jury Duty
Since there are now so few trials now due to plea bargaining and the "jury tax", if you get on a jury:
1) the defendant will be obviously guilty and has nothing to lose with rolling the dice with a trial,
2) obviously innocent but the prosecutor doesn't want to concede,
3) arguably innocent with a record they want to keep clean.

Finding an innocent man "not guilty" probably feels more rewarding than finding a guilty man "guilty".

I would've done anything for 20 hours a week, but absolutely couldn't get a callback. It was a really long year.

In Michigan, at least, the benefit was about $190/month on a card. The card only worked at grocery stores, and only for actual 100% food items. So I could get coffee, but not filters, for example. Maybe I wasn't scamming it right or something, but I wasn't quite living the high life with it.

If they find dad's DNA under their nails and on their necks it's even more bad news for Dad. He may try to make claims to mitigate his culpability. His DNA in those locations would prove that he really had to work at it while they were begging him to stop and trying to fight him off.

Government price Controls what a bunch of bullshit. So my grandmother bought clothes at thrift stores, torn the stitches out and remade them for my Mom and her family. So cloth sat on store shelves overpriced or because people had no ration coupons. Everything big govt touches with pricing is fucked up.

I expect much of the news media relies on leaks from folks with clearance to know what is going on. When the leaks dry up, they may have to go out and do, you know, actual reporting. And that's just too much work!

I know that it would be impossible for upstate New York to form its
own new state, but could it petition to redraw state boundaries to move
everything outside of NYC into Vermont?

There have been actions in the past to split upstate away from NYC and Long Island. The Democrats in congress will never allow it.

343 The California bill doesn't prohibit parents from purchasing a soda with their kids' meal, it just makes milk or water or fizzy water or nondairy milk substitute the "default" drink that comes with a meal that is marketed as a Kids' Meal.

So it's a stupid law in the first place. Ostensibly to prevent childhood obesity (with no means of measuring whether it is successful), and to help kids "learn to make healthy choices" by imposing a predetermined choice upon them. This is not a proper role of government, by any stretch.

On a related note, Chuck Dixon, who's probably written more Batman comics than anyone else, has a new comic coming out -"Trump Space Force": a Trump & Co. fight aliens. Looks like a fun book. Make Space Great Again!

Since legislatures are bound and determined to impose social engineering laws, there should be a requirement that the law have not only a stated purpose or identifiable goal, but also include a time-limited trial period with measurement of the achievement or progress toward that goal, (linking cause and effect) and an automatic phase-out if the proposed goal is not attained. To be funded out of operational funds of the Party that sponsored the legislation.

376 Good Morning Morons; today is Saturday, August 18, 2018. On this day in 1920 the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified, giving women the right to vote.

-
I wanted to post in memory of the Battle of Amiens on its 100 year anniversary. It was the day the morale of the German army collapsed, the day Ludendorff called the black day of the German army, and the beginning of the so-called 100 days offensive that won the war. Unfortunately, I remembered the date as August 18 but it was actually August 8. So jump in Ace's time machine and go back ten days.

379 Interesting op-ed piece by Newt Gingrich over at Fox about the "demons" Democrats are unleashing and how they are trying to paper this socialist movement over as a fringe element. Spoiler alert: they are not.

Apparently their magazine is called "Jacobin". Any person who even tangentially knows about the French Revolution realizes the Jacobins were behind the reign of terror and virulently anti Catholic (really anti Christian).

Their endgame is to essentially install socialism, by force if necessary. Their entire agenda is anti democratic and despotic. It's also very quickly overtaking the Democrat Party- and is really their mainstream agenda, which they are once again trying to hide.

Read the article. Understand the implications. You'll want to go vote tomorrow.
