The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg
"So the big thing in the anti-Trump protests in London was supposedly a huge inflatable float of Trump which made him up like diaper-wearing baby. Yes, really. The media played this up like this thing was going to be so big it would darken the skies over London and bring on global cooling, but look at it, it's not 20 feet high. It looks like it's not much bigger than one of those bouncy houses for kids. And someone spent, get this, the equivalent of $40,000 on it. Too bad they couldn't get Trump to do it. It would've been huge, classy, and luxurious. Maybe that's what the left needs. They all need to be put in a bouncy house where they can live in a harmless environment, bounce around until they're all worn out and then nap time."

Compare & Contrast:

compare and contrast - trump baby.jpg

And Emperor Trump Prayed To God, Saying, I Do Not Ask You To Make My Enemies Look Ridiculous, For You Have Already Done So, And That Most Abundantly. In Fact, I Don't Think They Can Possibly Be Made To Look More Ridiculous Than They Already Are. And England Said, Hold My Beer:

96 We really ought stop circulating tweets like Edison's.

Some are that stupid, and by sharing stupidity, we all just become stupider, perhaps a bit angrier in the process.

But many are not that stupid. They're the next degeneration of Al Gore: Someone who knows that, by drawing negative attention from the right, their status and wealth are enlarged by tribalists who rush to support any perceived attack on one of "their guys." The authors in no way believe in their hearts what they're advocating, but they know it's spicy and partisan and will see them elevated by the partisans, who will also likely hit their paetron accounts/go to their shows/buy their books to show solidarity with the movement.

By reacting in any way, we become their marketing. Left alone on Twitter, that tweet would wither with a few loony followers clicking "Like." Circulated around the conservative blogosphere, it's suddenly driving massive amounts of traffic and responses and becomes micro-viral. There are a lot of careers built on this, and it's mostly our fault.

This kind of crap just pisses me off. Of course there was "meddling" (whatever that is); there always is, in every election. We do it too (just ask Netanyahu). What there wasn't was any vote changing. No proof or even any serious suggestions that the Russians hacked voting systems and changed votes.

The only parties currently accused of doing those sorts of hacks are the Obama administration, on state election systems is several states.

Why "NEVER WORK"?

Our planet is rich enough with resources that everyone on it could be kept nourished, sheltered, and healthy with only a small amount of labor from each person ---labor of not nearly enough suffering and sacrifice to count as what we currently define as "work".

The reason so many people have to labor so hard and so long right now is that they (we) are supporting a relative few who do not labor at all. If we all labor together, "work" won't be anything like our current conception of it.

They changed it to be politically correct. They added a verse at the end, about setting the table. Everyone helps and then everyone eats the bread.

I voiced my objection (and eventually quit the play over it - I was a precocious 4th grader) that they ruined the moral of the story. The teacher told me that the moral is "if everyone helps, everyone gets bread." I told her something along the lines of, "When my dad read me The Little Red Hen, he told me the moral was that if you don't work, you don't eat. This new way is worse."

People who didn't have their dad tell them *real* moral of the story end up like Avery Edison.

I thought GW Bush - who was treated with adoration compared to Trump - should just send the major news outfits a single-spaced, two-sided fax each day at around noon, along with posting it on the web. If you have a question, you can ask it - on the record - by calling the WH press agent. All questions and answers are recorded and posted online each day. This would enable anyone who wanted to do so to report on equal footing.

Even that might be too good for them at this point.

They all try it. They all fail. Remember in 2004 when British newspapers called for a letter writing campaign to Americans to get US citizens to not vote for Bush?

The USA does it too, sometimes blatantly. Its always wrong and always should be condemned in no uncertain terms. If the US is going to lead the way in democracy as it has for over two centuries, it has to avoid interference while condemning it happening.

And, being intelligent, they actually measure the degree of success or failure. The left doesn't even bother to evaluate the outcome of their action. Because they mean well. Probably like it did before 2011.

In other words, a return to Assad in control. The Russians some time ago actually said the future of Syria wouldn't include Assad, but I'm not sure that is still in play.

The war is grinding down and Assad is reasserting control.

Even if it isn't Assad, it'll be someone amendable to the Russians. They've had a treaty with them for years and years and they're not about to lose access to that port.

I said some time ago that Assad is the best option out of any available. By far. The insurgents are whackos.

Assad whiffed the whole thing by not cracking down immediately, a mistake his father never made. The successor was supposed to be another son but he died in a car accident so the optometrist got the job. He's actually not that effective of a leader. Posted by: The Gipper Lives at July 16, 2018 12:20 PM (Ndje9)

This is the nub of every problem. Trump KNOWS the Russians meddled in the election, but he hates coming right out and saying it because he feels that the media intentionally conflate "meddling" with "handing the election to Trump." He hates that they do this and that's why whenever he's given the chance, he touts his brilliant campaign. He grasps that the meddling or collusion charge TAINTS his victory---and that is the intent.
