Foreign Actors Had At Least One Hillary Email Marked "Secret;" Nevertheless, The Exoneration Speech Was Edited to Change The Wording That It Was "Likely" Foreign Actors Had Secret Emails to Merely "Possible"

And they shouldn't have even have said "likely" -- they knew of at least one.

Knowing that a foreign actor has a secret email is not a "likely" thing; it's a fact.

The article says the email is "assessed" to have been gotten from one of the people Hillary emailed.

But the fucking emails should never have been on a nonsecure system in the first place.

Catherine Herridge reports:

"Foreign actors" obtained access to some of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails -- including at least one email classified 'Secret,'" the memo says, adding that foreign actors also accessed the private accounts of some Clinton staffers.
The memo does not say who the foreign actors are, or what material was obtained, but it notes that secret information is defined as information that, if disclosed, could "reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to the national security."
The committees say that no one appears to have been held accountable either criminally or administratively.

Relatedly, Fox News has obtained a May 2016 email from FBI investigator Peter Strzok -- who also is criticized in the House memo for his anti-Trump texts with colleague Lisa Page. The email says that "we know foreign actors obtained access" to some Clinton emails, including at least one "secret" message "via compromises of the private email accounts" of Clinton staffers.

...

Fox News also reported in March that Strzok was advised of an irregularity in the metadata of Clinton's server that suggested a possible breach, but there was no significant follow up, according to sources with knowledge of the matter.

John Sexton points out it was the very-unbiased Peter Strzok who changed the exoneration memo's wording from calling Clinton's actions "grossly negligent" to "extremely careless."

Did Strzok also make the edit changing the assessment from "likely" that foreign actors had accessed secret Hillary emails to merely "possible"?

I don't know. I'd like to know.

I know the cucks' favorite bull, Jake Tapper, will be right on that one.

48 The changing of the wording from "Grossly Negligent" to "Extremely Careless" is very important. The statute in question, the one used to prosecute Petraeus, states specifically that it is a Criminal Violation to treat classified information in a "Grossly Negligent" manner. Note that the statute does NOT require "intent", as it is assumed that no one ever "intends" to be Grossly Negligent.

However, by changing the wording to "Extremely Careless", words not mentioned in the statute, it opens the door to skate around a criminal indictment that clearly is called for. That is the reason the change was made.

Concur. But I'm sure somewhere down the line people are going to
raise their eyebrows at the USIC-FBI discussion referred to in the IG
report. The October 6, 2016 declaration that there was evidence of
Russian and US "political organizations". Comey rightfully deferred from
signing on to the statement. From the IG Report (p. 347):

"The
U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) is confident that the Russian
Government directed the recent compromises of emails from US persons and
institutions, including from US political organizations." The statement
then described the nature of these compromises and urged "state and
local election officials to be vigilant."

100 It is LIKELY that several foreign actors, and Johnny Jihad down the street, and the whole Awan family ... had most of what Hillary ran through her private operation.

the good news is it is LIKELY "we" (NSA at the least) also have them.

And remember all that "evidence" that it looked like Russia cuz they left indicators it was Russia ... except every actor knew those indicators (methods) and would use them 1) because they worked 2) to make it look like Russia.

That too was probably part of setting up Trump ... it was ALL to cover Hillary crimes (dirty cops covering up high crimes is the worse crime) AND to frame Trump (not let him win, start the Coup/resistance once he did win)

Hang em High. ( a reality show remake directed by Clint)

As far as what happens to any individuals - immaterial. This is bigger than that. Of course I'd like some of these names to be taken out - I would smile if it ends up happening privately, rather than officially, but we're not there yet.

But there is a HELL of a lot of campaign material here, both for 2018 and 2020. We can now totally discredit the FBI from here on out, and we can discredit the DOJ as well. And once they are discredited in the public eye, they are neutered.

I don't hold out hope we can actually reform the FBI, but we can make it ridiculously weak and ineffective, and after that we can start cutting its budget. Just like is already happening with the EPA.

saddest part for me is that the complete corruption of the Federal
Government law enforcement agencies has now been proven. There is
no longer any question that a government worker with a badge is probably
corrupt, not probably honest. Especially if they are at the top of
the command, where corruption is virtually guaranteed.

All. Of. Them.

Trust nobody. Especially Federal Law Enforcement.

That is what the last 18 months has proven. And this "report" is just the frosting for the Corrupt LE Cake.

So very, very sad.

187 But ace, the IG found that the FBI's investigative decisions were just bad calls - not improper, bad faith calls, based on extreme bias, i.e., obstruction of justice. Ditto for the compromised email conclusion.

As Moron xnycpeasant helpfully pointed out last thread, it's not just the marked-classified comms of a SecState that are sensitive, and obviously always protected - it's ALL of them. Ditto for any high-ranking official - as in, say the 13 who corresponded with Clinton over the insecure channel (incl. the PRESIDENT).

This stuff is just so outrageous and ridiculous - and the national yawn, and institutional arrogance so dramatic - that one might even begin to wonder about the country.

I am trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but struggling.
The fourth message, though, gave me pause:
15:28:50, [FBI Attorney 2] to FBI Employee 4: "I'm clinging to small pockets of happiness in the dark time of the Republic's destruction"

I think it comes down to what "dark time of the Republic's destruction" means. It could mean that this person thinks any of:
1) Trump is the end of the republic
2) What they are doing is wrong, and could end the republic
3) What Hill-dog is doing is wrong, and could end the republic.

I am chock full of benevolence, but I find it hard to believe that #2 or #3 will be the winners there. Especially given this later exchange (page 417 (PDF page 446)):
11:15:01, FBI Attorney 2: "And it's just hard not to feel like the FBI caused some of this. It was razor thin in some states."
[ ... ]
11:15:23, FBI Attorney 2: "Plus, my god damned name is all over the legal documents investigating his staff."

I dunno about you guys, but I am *always* worried about what my name is on after a sure thing fails to turn out the way I thought it would. To me, that just reeks of a guilty (or at least very worried about blowback) conscience.

226 But there is a HELL of a lot of campaign material here, both for 2018 and 2020.

Right, if you have a security clearance you have to explain to your family and friends that YOU would go to jail for sending a SECRET email over the internet. You need to explain to them that classified material is kept on separate and someone intentionally jumped that airgap to put classified material on CANCKLESnet.

The MFM will continue to attempt to obfuscate but I think plenty of people are troubled by how seemingly easy it is to access classified material. When I explain the truth to my family they are stunned.

That's an incomplete understanding. If the IG can identify possible violations of law, that does get said. There is nothing like that, so far, in this report. The only identified violations I've seen so far are five persons possible violations of FBI rules.

250 >>I like Jack. I learn a lot from Jack. But he's a bit moving goalposts today. I say that in the kindest way.

No I'm not. It's just that some of you have unrealistic expectations of what happens at every step of the process and others just flat out deny anything is happening when whole lots of things are happening.

If you read that actual text of the IG report it is devastating as far as the evidence uncovered and the recommendations made against specific targets for internal punishment. But that's really all he can do.

If you read Sessions statement today which I've seen posted on a few tweets but can't find a source to copy it here he makes the points that 1) Huber's criminal investigations continue in parallel 2) information from the IG's report will be added for new prosecutions as necessary and 3) a Special Counsel will be considered based on the new information.

Does that sound like nothing is happening to you? The IG cannot, does not prosecute. That's not his job. His job is to uncover evidence and turn it over to prosecutors.

That was the entire intent of today and those expecting firing squads, frog marches, beheadings or other punishments were setting unrealistic goals. I can't help that and its not me moving goalposts.

I realize the media will do it anyway, and Sessions will need someone to light a fire under his ass. 353 Comey's first draft May 2nd of 7/5 news conference.

Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statute proscribing gross negligence in the handling of classified information and of the statute proscribing misdemeanor mishandling, my judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. At the outset, we are not aware of a case where anyone has been charged solely based on the "gross negligence" prohibition in the statute. All charged cases of which we are aware have involved the accusation that a government employee intentionally mishandled classified information. In looking back at our investigations in similar circumstances, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: (1) clearly intentional misconduct; (2) vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; (3) indications of disloyalty to the United States; or (4) efforts to obstruct justice. We see none of that here.
Accordingly, although the Department of Justice makes final decisions on matters such as this, I am completing the investigation by expressing to Justice my view that no charges are appropriate in this case.
I know there will be intense public disagreement in the wake of this result, as there was throughout this investigation. What I can assure the American people is that this investigation was done competently, honestly, and independently. No outside influence of any kind was brought to bear. I know there were many opinions expressed by people who were not part of the investigation -- including people in government - but none of that mattered to us. Opinions are irrelevant, and they were all uninformed by insight into our investigation, because we did the investigation in a professional way. Only facts matter, and the FBI found them here in an entirely apolitical and professional way. I couldn't be prouder to be part of this organization.

Reality is that Trump has only been in White House less than 2 years!

Considering Russia and all that stray voltage, plus all that he has done, almost single handedly, arrayed against what seems like a "vast deep state conspiracy", it is truly amazing anything like this report got done.

Things are actually going at light speed, even though it doesn't seem that way...to me either. Theory of Relativity and all that.

377 The most disturbing info I have read so far involves the two agents who discuss the interrogation one had with a Clinton staffer. One asks how it went. Other says lied their ass off. First one says it doesn't matter, higher ups will never do anything.

This is a prime example of the cynicism that creeps into the lower levels of an organization when it becomes biased in its operation. Internal rules are no longer looked at as bright lines governing conduct. They are nothing more than guidelines to be swept aside at some parties convenience.

That is really scary. And a reason to think the FBI needs a serious overhaul and reboot.
