What to Expect from that IG Report, and When Do We Expect It? Let's Ask Byron York

From F*** Hollywood, Byron York's thoughts:

Continuing now, but with just the words quoted, ditching the embedded tweets:

First, looks like it might be delayed yet again. Senate Judiciary Committee scheduled a June 5 hearing to discuss IG report. After delay, had to be rescheduled for next Monday, June 11. Now looks like might be delayed again. 2/

Why delays? Feet are clearly being dragged. There are snags over classified information. Also, and this is intriguing: appears in last several weeks IG got new information, interviewed new witnesses. Could have contributed to delay. Don't know what it's about. 3/

So, when IG report is finally released--looking like mid-June--what will it cover? Don't know its conclusions, but here are some subjects you can expect to be reading about: 4/

Expect discussion of 6/27/16 Loretta Lynch-Bill Clinton meeting on tarmac in Arizona. IG has done extensive investigation. What was said? What were the intentions of those involved? Expect it to be covered carefully. 5/

Expect discussion of James Comey's decision to begin drafting an exoneration memo for Hillary Clinton long before the FBI had even interviewed her, or at least a dozen other key figures in the case. Also: Why hand out so much immunity? 6/

Expect discussion of Comey's intentions when he announced re-opening of Clinton investigation on 10/28/16, shortly before election day. Democrats specifically asked IG to investigate that. 7/

Expect discussion of what Andrew McCabe did when he first learned about existence of Clinton emails on Anthony Weiner's laptop in early October 2016. Did he sit on information? If so, why? What did Comey know? 8/

Expect discussion on rationale for Comey's controversial 7/5/16 statement announcing no charges would be filed against Clinton. To say it was unorthodox would be an understatement. What was he doing? 9/

Expect discussion of Lynch's refusal to recuse herself from investigation or to appoint special counsel. Plus, look for discussion of why McCabe waited so long to recuse himself even after public reporting of Clinton-related political contributions to his wife. 10/

Finally, don't expect to learn much new about McCabe 'lack of candor' situation re: leaks. Not clear whether IG will reveal much beyond what has already been released in wake of McCabe firing. End/

Trump suspects the Deep State might be trying to massage the report:

Oh, we've got some leaks about the upcoming report. It will not surprise you to hear that it's Hillary partisans who appear to be doing the leaking, pushing out the story that if Comey erred, he erred in declaring she had acted with great carelessness in setting up her completely illegal, completely hackable secret server.

That's the preview they're trying to get out there -- Sure Comey f***ed up. But only in treating Hillary poorly.

The Department of Justice's internal watchdog has concluded that former FBI Director James Comey defied authority at times during his investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of private email server, according to a report on Wednesday.

Citing a draft of Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report, ABC said Comey ignored objections from the DOJ when he alerted Congress in a letter that the FBI had reopened the probe into Clinton just days before the 2016 presidential election.

Clinton's camp has argued that Comey’s action sunk her campaign.

They're talking about Comey listing her transgressions in the announcement that also announced he would not recommend any legal action against her.

Now, it is true that the FBI's usual rule is to not comment on a case it's decided not to prosecute. But then, Comey wasn't acting in his usual FBI role. Because of Loretta Lynch's fake recusal (where she did not officially recuse herself but offered the leftist media the obvious fudge that she would "defer" to her subordinates... probably), he was actually acting as the de facto AG explaining why the DOJ would not be pursuing criminal charges against an obvious criminal.

Is this against the rules? Eh, probably. But it's curious to me that this this the only solid bit that's leaking, the Oh Poor Hillary part.

This had better not be the IG's only finding of fault here.

More: John Sexton at Hot Air posts the latest-- supposedly Lynch will be faulted for her tarmac meeting, and McCabe will be faulted for delaying seeking a warrant to get the Hillary classified emails from the Serial Sexter's computer.

It's not just against the "rules, it is illegal. The FBI is not chartered to make determinations on whether a person is going to be charged with a crime or not. That is the sole domain of the US Attorney's.

I said this before. Thank goodness for simple Comey's messiah complex. Hillary was to win. He would look bad for the sham investigation, and if he just quietly did not refer the case to prosecutors, he would be the one taking the heat, even though Clinton might retain him as FBI director. (She might still have forgiven and forgotten if she won. It was the safe play - the yeah she took some liberties with classified info, but nobody gets prosecuted.)

Fragile Comey couldn't have that, so he had to come out and tell the story of Brave Sir Comey, that perhaps helped sink Clinton and, in retrospect, help sink him, when it came out there were drafts circulated before the sham investigation was complete.

Thank goodness Comey's higher loyalty was to Comey.

I somehow suspect it will be a case like how certain people will tell us that Hillary not being president and Comey and McCabe losing their jobs will be the proof that justice is served and we won.

Just like how Lois Lerner getting to retire with full benefits was a victory for conservative groups against the IRS.

If nothing was said at all by anyone about Hillary's server before the election the very knowledge about it by the public would have still sunk her. Most voters aware of it knew what it meant.

The excusing of it is the crime by all concerned. If it meant nothing then why have anyone swear not to reveal official secrets?

102 JackStraw hasn't yet been heard from, after his heart exam today, so lets not forget that he would be excited to see the Deep Swampers out today so eagerly trying to shape the news coverage to their greatest advantage, and yet that advantage be so incredibly bad. Comey's best spin is that he's incompetent and insubordinate, so we all know the realistic story is that he's a crook of the highest order. Same for Lynch, and Yates, and McCabe. Et cetera.

These people are fearful of the new sheriff in town (Trump) trying to make people accountable for the coup attempt. They never expected to be called to account (Hillary!) and probably haven't hidden their actions. Horowitz can by trusted, and he is accompanied by an army of true-blue federal prosecutors.

That's how I'd characterize the JS perspective, and I for one hope he is right. I'm skeptical as hell but I hope he is on target.

Posted by: Huck Follywood, Vigilance Committee supporter at June 06, 2018 05:20 PM (LISuA)

103 The report may reveal whether of not Horowitz is really "DeepState".

If DeepState is really mafia like, or real mafia, on a global scale ... then we are in crunch time where people in charge get the serious threats on family from nefarious characters passing in the night.

So if Horowitz flops, can we get a real special counsel to clean up DC, and to raid and arrest the villains (Mueller, Hillary, Lynch, Powers ... too many to name)?

Or maybe Trump just has to declassify everything for the sake of the country, screw all the "that's classified" nonsense that keeps protecting the crime syndicate. Of course "they" have (probably) killed presidents before ... they certainly interfere in elections, including our own. Live Free of Die (fighting, not suicide)

What we need is for people in power, with unanimity and gravitas, to lay out the facts as to how the "Russia investigation" is a groundless frame at best, and in any event shut down immediately, and its authors jailed.

The IG on Hillary will be characterized by the left as an attempt to "change the subject" --when its the Hillary/Obama/Brennan/Reid/Yates/Comey etc etc conspiracy against Trump, and against the American electorate, that is very much the subject.

164 RE: Heart exams, a few days ago I went to the ER because of some unusual stabbing pains in my chest. By the time I got there, after about 30 minutes, they were gone but I submitted to tests including EKG, chemical labs, X-ray and physical exam. Nothing whatsoever was found. All my numbers were good.

The interesting thing I learned is that the ER doctor told me that in about 98 percent of cases where patients present with chest pains it turns out to be nothing. When I asked to make sure what he was saying he hedged to 90% plus. The lesson is that having tests made for suspicious heart pain does not by a long shot mean the subject is having or in danger of having a heart attack.

195 I ask again, what are the criminal penalties for "lacking candor" and can you point me to a single case of "lacking candor" that resulted in jail time?"

The confusion comes about because the phrase "Lack of Candor" is used inside the Federal Employee system as one of the acts that allow the termination of a long time Federal Employee. It does not a "charge" that would be used outside of that system. Any actual criminal charges would have to be for actual crimes (abuse of office, perjury, etc) and none have been specifically named yet in McCabe's case, although it does not seem hard to think of some that would apply.

Legal Time is not people time. Indictments could still be 6 months down the road. Or not. Trump could serve a full 8 years in office and these cases might still be grinding on when he leaves.

230 If there are no criminal referrals specifically based on the failure of the FBI to do a real investigation, then almost regardless of what else is reported/suggested (IG reports typically make suggestions related to any problems they have found), it will be very very problematic.

There were obvious, massive, systematic, ipso facto violations of the Espionage and Federal Records Acts. This is *known*, not "suspected".

Literally *nothing* was done about these historic, unprecedented crimes. Evidence was allowed to be destroyed, immunity was granted outside of any investigative logic, on and on.

I don't know if these deeds fit under "obstruction of justice" statutes, but they should. Because that's what the FBI/DOJ - obviously - did here. They obstructed justice and failed to pursue an historically egregious, slam-dunk set of cases.

Aerial robot that can morph in flight

http://www2.cnrs.fr/en/3125.htm

Marking a world first, researchers from the Etienne Jules Marey Institute of Movement Sciences (CNRS / Aix-Marseille Universite) have drawn inspiration from birds to design an aerial robot capable of altering its profile during flight. To reduce its wingspan and navigate through tight spaces, it can reorient its arms, which are equipped with propellers that let it fly like a helicopter. The scientists' work is the subject of an article published in Soft Robotics (May 30, 201. It paves the way for a new generation of large robots that can move through narrow passages, making them ideal for exploration as well as search and rescue missions.

265 redc, I think we know a criminal referral was made re McCabe (his lawyer said so in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee this week), based on OIG findings. Recall that mini-report issued a few weeks back about McCabe, around the time of his firing.

And no, there have been no leaks from Huber's investigations. Nor, that I've seen, from the ongoing (revived) U-1 investigation, nor from the Clinton Foundation investigation (existence of both confirmed by DOJ).

Just as it usually is, and is supposed to be.

Which just makes the outrage of the Mueller circus even starker, as there have been multiple leaks from his outfit (and even from satellite outfits, as in the SDNY office, in the case of Trump's attorney). Even though Mueller's spokesthing has, I think, tried an old and rather lame tactic of warning that many media reports about the SC office are not accurate - true, but clearly there are actual leaks occurring there.

280 I wonder if anyone in the Senate today is smart enough to play this immunity game with McCabe the way it should be played. Cruz probably is, don't know if anyone else can.

First: Remember that the Senate Investigation is a side show, a completely meaningless farce that exists only to make a few Senators look like they're doing their phony baloney "jobs" when they run for re-election. Nothing of any value is going to come out of any Senate investigation, no matter what is said or not said. Real Developments will happen elsewhere, if they happen at all. The Senate "investigation" is nothing but Theater, it has never been anything BUT theater.

So play it like theater!!! Of COURSE deny his request for immunity!!!!! But then don't just let him now show up - MAKE him show up and get footage of him taking the fifth!!!

"Mr. McCabe, did the money your wife took from the Clinton campaign influence your decision to tank the investigation into Anthony Wiener's laptop?"
"I'm sorry, I cannot answer on the grounds that my answer may incriminate me."
"Mr. McCabe, did you conspire with Director Comey to use the FBI in order to sabotage the incoming administration?"
"I'm sorry, I cannot answer on the grounds that my answer may incriminate me."
"Mr. McCabe, did you join with Directory Comey and James Brennan in a conspiracy to commit Treason against the United States??"
"I'm sorry, I cannot answer on the grounds that my answer may incriminate me."

Unfortunately, Trump could *convict* Obama without such a condition. And I don't think that's what "pardon" means.

Still. In Britain ... it's possible. And his father had British citizenship so perhaps deporting him there might do it. Of course Harry loves him but Harry is quite far down the line of succession by now.

"Mr. McCabe, did you join with Directory Comey and James Brennan in a conspiracy to commit Treason against the United States??"

384 Obama is, and always was, a meaningless figurehead. He can never hold power again, and if you've noticed, he's already out of the game (although his sycophants still talk about him lovingly) Remember when he was going to "Lead the Resistance!!!" and where is he? AWOL as usual, like the slacker he is.

Obama is nothing, and will never be anything again, so what happens to him personally is inconsequential. I think Trump could troll the left masterfully with a full pre-emptive Pardon of Obama, like Cap Weinburger got a few years back. Wish he would do it.

Hillary is also inconsequential, even though I hate her as much as anyone. She does more damage to the dems running around shooting off her mouth than we could ever do. She'll undoubtedly do something stupid in 2020, if she lives that long. Remember, she is a sick old drunk in terrible medical shape. We've won, she's lost.

Who we DO need to take care of, legally - the horde of Obama holdovers still in the Govm't, and all of the Clinton apparatchik's spread throughout the media and major corps. Not to mention any other footsoldiers that hold influence. THOSE are the people who are dangerous, THOSE are the people who we have to identify and dig out, THOSE are the people we have to defeat, especially the ones that are young enough to keep on giving us trouble for decades. (Looking at YOU, Ben Rhodes)

That is where our attention needs to be focused - forget the big names, we've beaten them. But we've still got to destroy their army.

Yes. I had barely-detectable incipient cataracts, but the new implant lenses correct for myopia, and astigmatism (in the left eye). I won't need eyeglasses or contact lenses to drive, but I probably will need low-power reading glasses for really close work. This computer screen, which is about 18" from eyes, is likely as close as I will be able to see without reading glasses. And, yeah, they are single-focus lenses.

I really want the minions to do felony hard time. I want all the up and coming hangers on to see that criminal acts and covering up criminal acts ruins your life.

And, if any of the Congressional Pigs in Office find their balls, I want to see the FBI destroyed. In its place, eight to a dozen regional investigation agencies, and everyone is equal and independent.

Except the agency for DC, NoVA, and surroundings is only staffed by temporarily assigned investigators drawn from all the other regions. They are there only for two to four years, and then leave, never to return.

The lab is split up into three regional labs, and moved far from DC too. Counter Intelligence is moved to its own agency, and leadership is kept far from DC too.

Break up the power. Use it as a template for the rest of government.
