With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Iranian officials are plotting with U.S. allies across the globe to develop a series a measures meant to counter new sanctions by the Trump administration following its abandonment of the landmark nuclear deal, setting up a global economic showdown between America and its allies over their future business dealings with the Islamic Republic.

Iranian leaders disclosed on Tuesday that they had recently held high-level meetings with European Union nations and leaders in India and Thailand to explore options for skirting new U.S. sanctions.

Or "attendees could bid to join Bill on a Clinton Foundation trip to the Caribbean, touring what it said were 'sustainable energy' projects in the islands, and visit Puerto Rico to see reconstruction efforts after last year's devastating hurricane," the program said.

Do we even care if this is true? Or Fake News?

Ousted “Black Lives Matter” activist Shaun King (nickname: Talcum X) spread a dubious rumor on Twitter that several top NFL stars are considering boycotting the upcoming football season until unemployed NFL kneelers Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid are hired by a team.

King tweeted, “BREAKING: Several star NFL players have told me they are considering sitting out the season until the de facto ban of Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick is removed and both men are given spots back on rosters. They aim to get 25% of the players to sit out with them.”

Perhaps a Coffee/Caffeine IV drip is needed. Caffeine makes you like other people.

A new study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology found that people who consumed a moderate amount of caffeine before doing something with a group were not only more active participants, they also evaluated their own performance, and the performance of other group members more highly than in groups where the participants had not consumed caffeine prior to working with one another.

30 I was very disappointed to see in the OAN ticker on my lunch break that India has said they will only comply with Iran sanctions if it is a UN resolution. We were so close to gaining a strong ally there in Bush 43's "4x4" Pacific realignment. Then Obama went mewling back to Europe. I don't know if maintaining that Pacific realignment would have prevented this (it well may not have, India has long been something of a wild card), but I do have to wonder.

113 The Solo post earlier today mentioned that the SJWs are blaming the poor performance of the Star Wars movies and DC movies on "series fatigue" - i.e. that viewers are getting fatigued by seeing too many of the movies within too short of a period of time. That, of course, means that they have to ignore the spectacular success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is currently releasing 3-4 movies every year. The most recent, of course, are the wildly successful Black Panther and Infinity War. In short, Marvel's releasing 3-4 times as many movies, and yet somehow the viewing public isn't getting "fatigue" from all of it.

So, so true.

*sigh*"

I would say in a societal sense, yes, that's true. But Christianity has always been an individualized religion, with a focus on the individuals relationship to God, and his/her responsibility for their own behavior.

And in that light, there actually have always been a few people who *have* lived up to it, and whose lives are a blessing to all around them. They don't call attention to themselves, and they don't make a show of what they do. But I have been fortunate to have met a few, and I suspect you have too.

I took the truck to my mechanic and he tinkered with the switch (listening), then gave the spot of the door frame where the motor is a Whap with the butt of his hand and the window Shot Up.

Damn.

Most things can be fixed with a hammer. The real skill comes in *knowing* where to whack it.

But there is a certain satisfaction in whacking the damn thing all over the place. Fixing it comes in second.

193 Want to know how mad (as in "insane") this country is?

Just keep an eye out for a few days, and you'll see a story about the fallout from the treasonous Iran deal. A deal that Valery Jarrett was undoubtedly a key player in making. A deal that gave religious fanatics eager to martyr themselves all the money they could possibly need to build nukes, all the terms they need to do so in secret, and conveniently lifting any restrictions on that once Obama was out of office.

Then watch all the junkyard dogs - even on the supposed Right - tearing into Roseanne, for aying unacceptably nasty things about her.

In reality, it's really just not possible to say things about Valery Jarrett that are nasty ENOUGH, and I am happy to look the other way. Nothing Roseanne could ever say could be 1/1000000 as damaging to anybody as what "VJ" was involved in.

The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult and left untried. Gilbert K. Chesterton

Ennnhhhhh... Sounds like what the Commies say about Communism, it's just never really been tried, they keep saying every time it's tried and fails.

The liberation of the spirit works through individuals. The ideals of Jesus are tried, and prove true, even though fallible humans must ever fall short of perfection.

And that photo up top looks just like the view out my window, except, no ocean, no sea grass or reeds or whatever that is, just prairie grasses, and no big mountain in the background, although there is a hill. And we've got lots of trees. Other than that, exactly the same.

It seems like it's always useful to have a "forward base", if that's the right term. You often hear of military being flown to a base or two in Germany, to be handled in some way on their way back to the States. It might also be a good place to keep combat aircraft, in case they're needed somewhere over there.

Our German bases have never been used to actually defend Germany, but they HAVE been USED. Probably a LOT.

Considering the German enthusiasm for being colonized by fanatical enemies, and the Polish appreciation for freedom, it seems like it would be a wise move, indeed.

We should put our ABM system back there too. Poland is along the great circle route from Iran to Washington.

* deport all illegals, even by airdropping if their countries of citizenship refuse them.

* deport people with "chain migration" visas, like that guy in NYC who ran over 8 people

* execute Tsarnaev and Nidal Hasan

* prevent any federal funds from going to any state with a sanctuary city or a state sanctuary policy

* declare a revision of immigration quotas. No more Muslim immigrants. No more people from shitholeistani countries. Just people from Europe who want to escape.

* declare antifa, ACORN, etc. to be terrorist organizations. If any professors use bikelocks, send poop grams, etc. imprison them for 20 years. If students "shout down" conservative speaking events, round them up and throw them in jail until their hair turns grey.

Are there any women who are so widely respected that their admirers cross party lines, so to speak?

I think there was a time when you might be able to name a few such critters, whether they deserved the naming or not. Marie Curie. Helen Keller. Mother Teresa. Eleanor Roosevelt (blech, but...)
You might even find a handful of show-biz gals, such as Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, or Lucille Ball, who were respected by the public at large.

I think there are still female celebs that are liked, of course, but widely "admired and respected?" I'm at a loss.

And I can't help but notice that nearly all of the examples I come up with date from a period before the big feminist wave of the 70's.

They should have focused on making a quick-change battery pack that can be swapped out automatically in less than 5 minutes at a service station, and then recharged. You drive into the changer, it swaps out the pack, you pay the recharge fee and then away. You can buy a pack that's fully charged, 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 charged. If your's is damaged by accident, your warranty covers the replacement and damaged or worn out packs are returned to the factory for refurb. All models use the same pack.

If they can not find a judge, send the Chief of Staff of the Judicial Committee on a unaccompanied fact finding mission to Venezuela, Somalia, Zimbabwe or North Korea.

The educational system of the US will emphasize the US Constitution, rational thinking, real skills, real science and math, and absolutely no PC stuff. Toughen up buttercups.

Teachers have no tenure, there is no mandatory attendance, home schooling and charter schools for everyone, and the most a school system can tax a community is 25% of the total.

340 They should have focused on making a quick-change battery pack that can be swapped out automatically in less than 5 minutes at a service station, and then recharged.

Proven registration frauds to be prosecuted, and those that are able, sent to do 30 days HARD LABOR on The Wall... even if all they can do is to scrub out port a potties, vs. actual construction work.

414 Now, you've lost me. I don't know what you're talking about. I thought you were talking about people who want to turn right but don't know, or think, that they are allowed (for whatever reason).

No. I'm talking about retards (who are disproportionately of the distaff persuasion) who at the last second, as they approach the stop line, weave to the right, leaving four feet between them and the lane marker, but about 0.9 car widths between them and the curb.

A subset (also disproportionately of the distaff persuasion) who want to make a right turn, but sit at a red light with their thumbs up their ass because there's only four feet of clearance on either side of their cars.

Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara, now with a spark of divinity at May 29, 2018 11:25 PM (htRaj)

415 No. You misunderstand. I'm talking about the retards who, when they stop at a red light, do so hugging the curb, so that others can't get past them to turn right.

-------------------

I live in a town of 70k blue collars and am constantly pleased with the courtesy of the drivers.

On the main drag cars coming to a stop light will leave a space at store entrances for cars to exit/enter and (it's two lanes each way with a turn isle in the middle) most cars not turning right will ride in the left lane ceding turning cars the right lane.

And there are few laggards; if the light's green you make it and if it's not quite green - well, you've got to clear it for the others (like three).

Fully agree, but we're talking about processing hundreds of thousands, if not in the low millions.

All at once. No, I don't want the taxpayers to build that many prisons just for this offense.

The Thirty Days at Filthy Labor, for all but the most wheelchair bound (and there's things we can find for them to do...such as laundering Hillary's Depends) are intended to send the message, that ALL will be prosecuted, it will NOT be Club Fed, and that ALL come away from it with a FELONY on their record.

Thirty Days is only the time they serve. We can still hang 'em on Parole for however long you might wish.

THEN AFTER the first waves of offenders have served their time, we ratchet the penalty curve radically upwards. With ample publication, warning and lead-time for it to be immune to court arguments to the contrary.

It's not that I disagree with you, 'cause I don't.

I'm just aiming at maximum effectiveness in minimum time.

Offenders who persist, may be well and truly imprisoned, if not shot hanged.

If it please the Court, with apologies to MisHum.

Alienate as many of your remaining fans as possible, and make it impossible for already alienated fans to return.

599 434 ... IVV,

These are percussion revolvers, 6 shots. The 44 caliber versions use .451 round ball for the Colt repros or .454 round ball for the Remington repros. I use real black powder but percussion cap guns can use Pyrodex just as well. (Pyrodex is a black powder substitute that is safer to ship and store. Even Wal-Mart carries it.)

At a minimum, you will need powder, an adjustable powder measure, felt wads that go between the powder charge and ball, a nipple wrench (yeah, I know, but that's the name), and a powder flask or cap that fits the powder container.

Keep in mind, a BP gun MUST be cleaned after every session. I use hot water to clean and gun oil or a rust preventative before storing them. These guns are a lot of fun and can be quite accurate but they require a bit more effort to maintain compared to modern guns.

There are a ton of Youtube videos about using them and even more info on the web. But these are the basics.

If you have a Kroger's store in your area, give their house brand a try.

Simply labeled "MAYO", it is flavor-wise, superior to Hellman's or Blue Label.

Duke's has it beat on the smooth texture, but the Kroger brand wins on flavor.

Won't cost you much to try the smallest jar. You won't regret it.

629 Shikwasa gummies. Shikwasa is a sour citrus native to Okinawa and Taiwan. In Okinawa, the major Japanese candy company that makes gummies (forget the name) sells skiwasa-flavored gummies. I've looked and looked over the years and never found them elsewhere. You can get shikwasa juice concentrate in Japanese stores; you sweeten or dilute it for drinking, or use in cooking. But the gummies - only in Okinawa.

Kind of surprised I haven't been able to find any mention or listing of them anywhere, since the company that makes them is a giant Japanese company.

So there's your (incredibly) obscure candy whine of the night.

I recently tried feeding them Whole-Hearted turkey formula, but it was giving them both horrible constipation.

I'm hoping the Luvsome Sensitive Systems formula, which is turkey-based, will work for them.

Pure Balance turkey formula seemed to work well for them when I could get it, but no shops near my new home sell that. I may have to start ordering that through Amazon if this Luvsome doesn't work so well for them.

644 Hi. I'm home and 'way back in the comments. So?

...SJWs are blaming the poor performance of the Star Wars movies and DC movies on "series fatigue"...

Never occurs to them that it's SJW FATIGUE!

Watched the latest Supergirl tonight, but I stopped the player several times to scream at the screen. I will stick with it to the end of the season, because, closure (of a sort; always another cliffhanger, thanks Stan), but it's painful.

They've dropped the lesbian smoochfest thing, but tonight had Black Jimmy Olson complaining about being harassed at 7 years old by racisty mean cops when he was playing hide'n'seek, and how bad racist racisty the world is, according to the successful news photographer close friend of superheroes turned major magazine editor poor poor black guy who's worried folks will find out his superhero identity is really a black guy. WTFFFFFFFFFF? SJW turned up to eleventy.

Sooooooooo tiresome. Sooooo stupid. More contrived than the lez bit. Like folks who whine what a racisty racist country we are who would never elect a black guy to be President. Well, it's true, we are still waiting on a real black American man in the oval office, but still...

And decades ago I had one of my kids cuffed "as a joke" right in front of me by a a'hole cop when the kid was 10, doing nothing. (I did restrain myself from going ninja on the armed officer, but I should have objected louder.) Having raised them, IN CHICAGO, to respect police, it at least gave me an opportunity to explain that cops are human, too, and not all of them are good guys all the time. And it weren't nohow racist.

Flash season closer was tolerable, at least.

646 In most of Texas, the H.E.B. grocery store chain reigns supreme.

They started over 100 years ago in Kerrville, TX, and grew.

Moved their H.Q. to Corpus Christi, TX in the 1920s, and continued to grow.

Moved their H.Q. to San Antonio round 1990 or so. Might've been earlier or later, but close enough.

So great was their marketing horsepower, they ran both Albertsons and Kroger's, completely OUT of the San Antonio market area.

Just 'cause they could. And so, they did.

But also, H.E.B. deployed SIXTEEN mobile kitchens (18 wheelers) into the Hurricane Harvey area, within mere HOURS of the roads being opened enough to let 'em in.

Followed by HUNDREDS of truckloads of foodstuffs, with which to supply said kitchens, as they cooked their way through the inventory.

Those kitchens were in place for MONTHS, after the storm.

Not much fanfare.

But those neighborhoods... they know. They remember.

You'll pry their H.E.B. outta their cold, dead hands.

And etc.

669 Mindful, sorry to hear about your experience with your kid and the cop. It's usually hard to know what to do in that type of situation. You can talk it thru with your child now.

I told my kids not to let cops search their stuff without a warrant, just to make the point that we have the right to say no. Once my son was stopped and he did let the cop go thru his backpack, nothing there of course, and it caused less problem that if he had done what I said, so it's hard to say what is the right course.

681 Neither candy nor music, but since things may get sporty before you know it given the trends - Iran's economic situation certainly looks to be grim under new US sanctions.

Oil customers lining up other sources, major banks ending transactions, shipping lines cutting services. The threat of secondary sanctions seems to be achieving its purpose even before things get rolling. And despite EU public fuckwittery about not cooperating.

Inside Iran merchants', truckers', and sympathy strikes have snarled lots of things.

There is zero coverage of all this in the most prominent US media. So *if* the regime crumbles or things get splodey and fightey inside Iran all of a sudden, the "press" will have a second enormous story to suddenly cover after covering it up - the other being the mega-scandals whose public airing will officially kick off with the IG report (since the extensive congressional activity on these topics has been ignored, distorted, or actively resisted by the "press" - whereas not long ago, and certainly with a different cast of villains, the saturation coverage would have made the weather forecasts hard to find).

Posted by: AmericanKestrel at May 30, 2018 01:34 AM (IDhUW)

685 AK, Senate Judiciary has scheduled a hearing on the IG report for June 5.

But congressional committees have scheduled, then changed, such hearings before, due to the IG's fluid calendar (the IG office pursues fresh stuff that comes up in the course of its investigations).

So - we'll see.

688 Randomly, just remembered:

Called my mommy tonight just to say hi. She sounded bright and chipper, but I suspected I'd interrupted a nap.

I told her, I don't want to call when she's napping, but there's no telling when that might be. She replied: Oh, that's okay. I can always just go back to sleep.

She said her cleaning gals had been there today (nicest Christian ladies you'd ever want to meet), after us Memorial Day weekend picnickers.

So I said, oh, good, we can come down and mess it all up again.

She replied, not before the party. (She turns 98 next month, and family will be coming in from all over the country for it.) I said, uh, Mom, that's a few weeks away yet.

She pondered and said, Oh! It is? Well, you'll probably need to come down and swim before that. I said, yeah, I needed a swim this morning!

It was funny. She's not top-notch anymore, but not really losing it. Always has been super-organized. Her reply confirmed for me that she was just foggy from interrupted nap.

I love my mommy and I don't mind saying so.

697 House Amendment 2 to House Bill 2354, sponsored by Rep. Kathleen Willis (D-77), would allow for the issuance of protective orders to infringe on Second Amendment rights based on third party allegations with little, if any, real evidence and limited "due process" for the respondent. Hearings for the orders would be ex parte, where the respondent is not present to challenge the accuser and defend against allegations made against them. The issuance of an order would immediately prohibit the respondent from exercising their Second Amendment rights. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms should not be treated as a second-class right and should only be restricted consistent with the constitutional requirements of due process.

Further, for truly dangerous individuals, this bill does nothing to incapacitate the subjects of the orders, as there is no requirement that they receive mental health treatment.

I mean, cats will eat anything else, right? My maine coon likes plastic, especially plastic films, cellophane etc. He'll dig out a whole garbage pail to get to cigarette packaging. But he turns up his nose at most canned cat food. What awful ingredient is so foul a cat won't eat it? Signed: DXM.

Trump's disgraceful treatment of "immigrant" children, as demonstrated by photos of caged [illegal alien] children during the Obama administration?

Curious how in the lefty outrage over those Obama photos (which they assumed were Trump photos), nobody mentioned the fact that it was Obama who put out the invitation to the third world to send their "unaccompanied" children across the U.S. border. All part of his attempt to "fundamentally transform" America by making it more "brown." It was Obama, and the kids' parents, who put them at risk. The ones in the "cages" were lucky. They'd been intercepted by the U.S. government, and were placed in air-conditioned buildings, fed, and looked after. Many others were not so lucky. They were raped, tortured, or killed by cartel members, or used as drug mules, on their dangerous trek into the U.S. so that their illegal alien mommy and daddy could use them as defense against deportation.

Well, John Meecham is a poorly educated dumb-shit who is ignorant of the history he thinks he is talking about. Having grown up in the south during the days it was a Democrat stronghold you would think he would equate the word "Republican" with increased freedom and inclusiveness, values he says he prefers and that history teaches him are Republican virtues, but either he doesn't understand the history or he's just such an ideological lefty that he thinks he can get away with lying on national TV.
