Well first people are going to need to come to grips with the fact that the conventional wisdom on much of the right, that Sessions was doing nothing, was completely wrong. Like the opposite of correct. This document is the Rosetta Stone for everything. It explains that the Carter Page FISA application was based on the phony Russian dossier, a dossier the FBI knew was fake and was created by the Clinton campaign and they committed a fraud on the FISA court. And not just anyone can sign off on a FISA warrant. It is assistant director level and above in the DOJ and the FBI. And it states there is a foreign agent in a foreign country involved. It is likely Alexander Downer, the Australian diplomat who is also being investigated for his ties to the Clinton Foundation but its possible it could be Steele or some other Brit. This is the document that incriminates all of them and that is why it has been held for so long. It is the core of numerous criminal cases and they didn't want it going public before they were ready. It's not a coincidence that Sessions hired a spook who used to work for Flynn at the NSC and is the guy who first alerted Nunes to what was going on when he called him to the Executive SCIF last spring that set this whole thing in motion. Did you notice that Nunes had no problem with the information he saw today despite the redactions? He knows. Things should be getting sporty soon. Unredacted
++++ Actually, that should read mostly unredacted. From The Hill: [...] According to a Justice Department official, the remaining redactions in the document are "narrowly tailored to protect the name of a foreign country and the name of a foreign agent." Specifics have been replaced with identifiers like "foreign official" and "foreign government," the official said. "These words must remain redacted after determining that revealing the words could harm the national security of the American people by undermining the trust we have with this foreign nation," the official continued, adding that they appear "only a limited number of times, and do no obstruct the underlying meaning of the document." (link) However, thanks to leaks from John Brennan (CIA) and James Clapper (ODNI) to the New York Times we already know the ridiculous content of the redactions. The "foreign nation" was Australia, and the "foreign agent" was Alexander Downer. http://tinyurl.com/y7rbcedf (Conservative Treehouse) Posted by: Anon Y. Mous at April 11, 2018 08:38 PM (pvjTE) 103

the problem with the "they had to defy congress or congress would leak" thing ... as I understand it, evidence that needed to be withheld for that reason could have been redacted, but it would have been a judge (or some such) that would confirm it should be redacted.
The "sleepy Sessions" part is not just on whether he is doing anything at all (and really he is just giving approvals, more than actually doing) ... the Sleepy part is how he stands down as Rosenstein approves actions far beyond the scope of what Sessions recused himself for. But much is still hidden ... maybe there are good reasons for keeping congress in the dark ... we just don't really know yet. The Clinton Foundation is so friggin dirty, pay to play on such a massive scale ... Deep State would kill to stop real progress on that ... maybe they have killed. Rosenstein and Mueller are now good guys? After decades of covering for Clintons? OK ... soon we will know I guess. #2weeks Posted by: illiniwek at April 11, 2018 08:45 PM (bT8Z4) 131

As far as I can tell, those donations weren't exactly authorized by the Australian government. More like Downer lied his ass off to funnel the cash to the Clintons. How Rosie can stay un-recused on the FISA matter is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps there's a tortured diagram that explains it, but using standard, abundantly cautious principles for conflict of interest, he himself would have to be cut out of everything connected to that topic. Maybe he's cut out of only the last FISA warrant renewal aspect, his direct conflict.
The US attorney brought in to facilitate document production for Congress today repeated what has already been mentioned in DOJ comms with the Hill - "grand jury materials". So there is no doubt a grand jury, or multiple, exist on these matters. Without knowing every detail, it's often difficult to see why many of these documents cannot be shared. Once again - absent bad-faith grandstanding from Goodlatte, Nunes, Meadows, Jordan, et al - one thing that is inexplicable is the 11th hour compliance routine we saw one more time today. I assume Lausch will be talking to Hill investigators instantly whenever a request is received, to brief on any issues and possible delays. DOJ/FBI credibility and reputation have been damaged as never before in our history. Needless drama with the Hill - in which requests are eventually honored, anyway - really needs to stop. Yesterday. His wife wanted a "girl's day" with her two sisters still living in Athens. My friend hired a cab for the morning, and although his Greek was excellent, he got a cabbie who wanted to speak English. My friend asked the cabbie for suggestions on what to do, and the cabbie, what with the Generals being in charge of Greece at the time, suggested seeing some Communists being executed by firing squad. Alex said he told him, in accented English, "Everyone will be there".

It happened when Obama sold out Israel at the UN, at the end. Somehow I saw Dershowitz talking about it, and it was indeed devastating for him. Anyone who has ever been betrayed knows that feeling. Unfortunately, other people live in detachment or denial about facts and don't face it becz they don't want to deal with the pain. He faced it. I respect him for it.

Mueller reportedly values his reputation and it is of value to him. Even though the SDNY oversaw the Cohen raid, it has Mueller's imprimatur and even among rabidly partisan attorneys the search and seizure at Cohen's office is distasteful, whether they admit it or not. So it seems there had to be some desperation on Mueller's part to be a part of something so unseemly

Haven't the foggiest why any of this would have been pursued - only persuasive speculation at this point is campaign finance violations. 147 >>I have faith in both Sessions and Trump. I also have faith in our politicians and law enforcement to ensure that there remains two distinct sets of justice, and little to nothing* will come of any of this.
So if I told you that there already is a grand jury, has been for quite some time now, and there are also already indictments with many more likely to come, would that make you feel a bit better? 353 Professor? What if... Sessions came out and endorsed Trump just because it looked like Trump was going to win the GOP nomination and the Deep State wanted a mole on the inside just in case?
Posted by: Prothonotary Warbler- a Shrub is a guy who can't get no vote from me. at April 11, 2018 09:51 PM (wSC8T) I hear ya, and yea, no. Sessions lost friends over that endorsement. And maybe it is because I read the original memo Sessions wrote that I feel the way I do. Or maybe it is Trump's inference that without Sessions there would not have been his successful campaign. Also, he has been a terrible mole. As one of the few Trump trusted, he could have taken him out by now, figuratively. Jeff was called the Silent Executioner, back in the day. I think that is what we are seeing now....his M.O. He is a stabilizing influence to all DJT's fire and fury, bull in a china shop behavior. Quiet, unassuming, doesn't try and hog the spotlight. Not a Bannon. I don't know Sessions personally, and of course, I can be wrong (that hurts), but right now he is the one player who earned and sacrificed to get my trust. I can't say that about many/any of the others. Posted by: prof disarray, gumdrop gorilla channel at April 11, 2018 10:08 PM (V9sPV) 367

Don't know if anyone brought this up, but we USED to have a law that stopped the President from firing certain officials.
Search "Tenure of Office Act" Stated that the President could not fire certain officers without the Senate's approval. Andrew Johnson fired Secretary of War Edwin Stanton, not only to remove a block towards stopped the Congressional Reconstruction (this was after the Civil War), but to make a case to the Supreme Court on the Act. Johnson was impeached, but escaped removal of office by 1 vote of the Senate. By 1887, it was repealed, and in 1926, SCOTUS determined the Act and other similar laws to be unconstitutional. --------------------------- Thank God that Act isn't here. But the talks about a bill to protect Muller is very similar to this. Posted by: Delaforce and his bitten tongue at April 11, 2018 10:10 PM (eVIA2) 370
The artists have a fun. Theory about the Cohen raid. Theory is that the whole stormy thing is a counterintelligence op.
Stormy leaked a pic of a DVD in the safe of Cohen intimating that it was a vid of her and trump. I.e. he did not pay her for sex but for a video which is legal not prostitution. She then says someone threatened her. Mueller has N.Y. feds raid the office. The take a bunch of stuff including DVD. So what's the op? The DVD is a video of Hillary committing a crime or twelve. The my feds have it and can't unsee it. Fun story but doesn't make sense. Also fun story, all the Russia syria stuff is a cover for us going at Iran hard. Misdirection.all expecting a Syrian attack but we Would be on top of them before they knew it. Russia cooperating and Syrian chem attack was staged. Dont buy it. Lot of good fiction being written. Entertaining. Something is up for real, but who knows what. Posted by: Simplemind at April 11, 2018 10:14 PM (ZuGkg) 371
One more thing about Sessions...
He put his country before himself. I don't know of, or don't see, any of those other Howdy-Doody Motherfvckers elected to Congress doing that. It's like they don't even understand duty or service. They just get elected, see themselves as kings, and live off the fatted calf while they line their pockets and laugh at us little villagers. Lord Ponces of the Manor. So yea. Sessions, FTW. Posted by: Farmer at April 11, 2018 10:43 PM (yJ1e6) Yes, but constitutionality doesn't seem to be holding back the Deep State FBI Mueller-Rosenstein-Wray production so far. Dershowitz is spot on when he asks what sacred relationship guaranteed in the Constitution is next,, after Attorney-Client. Is it Doctor-Patient, Husband-Wife, You-Your Priest or Rabbi? Because after the Cohen-Trump raid that exposes all of his most personal dealings to his enemies who are out to take him down, none of these other relationships are safe. Some junior level AG is given the power to unearth anything between Trump and his personal lawyer. This is a travesty. This is flat out crooked. And it is our FBI leadership. Posted by: LeftCoast Dawg at April 12, 2018 03:11 AM (UsCnO) 383
289 Mueller reportedly values his reputation and it is of value to him.

Posted by: free tibet, with purchase of equal or greater value tibet at April 11, 2018 09:31 PM (CL76w) Uh, let's see what is the answer to this? Who was the head of the FBI during the time that the Clinton Foundation received $145 million in donations from foreign corporations with a direct link to a Russian bank, and at the same time had an undercover FBI contact in the middle of it for 6 years, with audio, video, bank records, emails, all showing the foreigners paying off the CF, and justifying their pay for influence payoffs, yet he kept it quiet while SecofState Clinton signed off selling 20% of US uranium to said foreigners and later exported it illegally? And zero was done to stop it or make the committee to export aware of these facts prior to the vote to export. Why, yes, that WOULD be Robert Mueller! Crooked as a mountain country backroad Mueller!
