I think that's about right. Any time I hear Dem vs. GOP poll numbers, I take 6 points from the Dem total and add it to the GOP total. This is to compensate for the bias, corruption, and oversampling of Dems that are a part of pretty much every poll nowadays.

I think your points on the last thread are exactly correct. Trump is no worse in private than any of several lionized Democrats.
To lots of people in the middle though, I think they'd argue Trump's *public* persona is more than a bit less polished than JFK and LBJ and others. I've heard several people who are solidly in the middle say they wish Trump would tweet less.

As I mused yesterday, imagine a country in which there was a political party with one, two, even three Robinsons in elected office, with a platform, giving voice to his rather obvious but fundamental truths and criticisms.
The fact that such a thing is just about inconceivable (on the national level) is a good index of how trapped, and leaderless, the American people are.
I'm leaving Trump out of this calculation, because to a great extent he *has* been outspoken on key basic truths that were effectively banned from public discussion - it's why he's president. But he can't row the boat against the surging tide alone. Again, just imagine, in the wake of the FL incident, 10 or 15 Mark Robinsons - congressmen, senators, governors - putting the smack-down on the notably idiotic, misplaced hysteria featuring stupid ignorant *teenagers* as its "leaders".

We talk about how Bill Clinton's foul acts in the Oval Office corrupted our youth and forced us to talk about stuff that was private and supposed to wait until they were grown up. "Extremist Koch-owned Washington Post reports..."
and within a few years, it'll either be defunct or known as a "right wing extremist" type organization like Fox News. Which is laughable, as I'm being generous if I call Fox "moderate" or "down the middle"... in reality, 90%+ of Fox News employees are leftists, with a few squishy center people working as producers, and one or two on air personalities who identify as conservative.

I usually buy plain yogurt, Fage mainly because it doesn't add gums and I really prefer greek yogurt. But the french yogurt is very pleasant.
I was taken in by little jars and tiny portion size and coconut in the bottom.

One piece of advice a family court judge gave a friend of mine who was about to file divorce paperwork against his wife (she was cheating, very sad situation) was to hire a divorce attorney who he hated.
The judge said find some mean son of a bitch who you cant' stand. That's who you want arguing on your behalf. Not someone who seems like someone you'd want to get a beer with.
...and I think there's some truth in that.
(lots of caveats, of course -- you don't want your lawyer to be such a cock that the other lawyer and judges and others go out of their way to fuck you over just because they hate your lawyer.)

Trump was able to overcome the MSM, the Hillary campaign AND Obama WH/FBI/DoJ shenanigans precisely because he's a fighter.
That's what his twitter shtick is: fighting. He has to fight in public thanks to the SC/MSM swamp who will not report what he does accurately. It also knocks his opponents off balance (how dare he say that out in the open?!!!!), which is fun to watch.

I do that stuff too, but there is a sense that I shouldn't because I might get "hurt." You know how I get my lawn mowed when I want it mowed? I say, "If one of you doesn't mow the lawn today, I will." (or a similar type job). All 3 boys and the husband will jump to do it. There is a worry I might not cook? In Sweden it is dairy wonderland, compared to the USA. I thought I'd never see fil (a kind of spoonable but kind of drinkable fermented dairy product) on the shelves over here, but bless me I was shocked to find a Siggi's nonfat version at the whole foods. Fil has a much nicer taste and mouthfeel than kefir.

Depends on the boy. I loved baths, but mom had to direct me to take them from time to time because I'd forget.
Also, deodorant: I was broke for a while in my 20's and I learned to dust my pits down with baking soda a couple times a week. It messes with the pH that encourages the skin bacteria that causes odor.
But it does keep the pits much sweeter.
(My other attempt, brushing my teeth with table salt, was neither pleasant or terribly effective)

My son, off to school right now, managed to do that, and I am having trouble fixing it. The ceiling peeled so much that I must redo the whole ceiling, but some had cracked and peeled off, I can't seem to scrape the rest off, despite regularly nibbling at the edges with a scraper.
I don't want to do a skim coat of plaster or anything. How does one scrape a ceiling were parts are still stuck tight, but the peeling is too much to deal with in any way but scraping?

I had a room that the former owner DIY'd a popcorn ceiling. I just bought the longest drywall knife I could purchase and skim coated drywall compound over it. A light sanding and it was ready for paint. Only took a couple hours.

Not appropriate for a 12 yo. You first need to know some Soviet history to understand it. Secondly, it is two volumes long and wanders around a lot. I would recommend you read Cancer Ward instead. A true piece of art as opposed to GA. I have always suspected the Nobel Committee awarded it to GA in order to make Solzenitsyn hard to grasp by the wider world. There are a lot of Reds on the Nobel Committee.

It's around 1100 to 1200 pages unabridged with footnotes in the paperback edition. I read it cover to cover in college, but I was a college kid. It might be a slog for a 12-year-old. My advice for reading Solzhenitsyn is One Day In The Life of Ivan Denisovitch. Not long, a good read, and it makes the same basic point.
