There are hundreds of thousands of them, and they are carefully cultivated so that they can be called up at a moment's notice to swell the crowds at whatever protest needs bodies. It is a testament to the superior organizational ability of the left, and a very dangerous thing indeed.
This video has been floating around for several days (I think it was posted in an ONT last week), but I think it is worth watching again. And just to be clear; the graph of the IQs of Down Syndrome people overlaps that of regular folks. That means that there is a segment of the Down Syndrome population who have higher IQs than a segment of the non-Down Syndrome population. And if you compare them to Congress it's even more impressive.
But on another level this is simply chilling. Nazi Germany has nothing on the modern European state. Here is the Washington Post's pet "conservative."

Was there a thread on the Panera data leak yesterday?
What a cluster that is. Their Director of Information Security was Equifax's Sr Director of Security Operations. A white hat informed this massive black hole of suck that Panera's website was broadcasting customer information to anyone with a web-browser and the right URL. After first accusing the white hat of being unprofessional, and warning him they weren't going to be blackmailed, they finally accepted the tip and promised to work on it. Seven months later, after seeing zero progress, the white hat passes the information to other security researchers, who go on to publish the information. Panera goes on Fox two hours later and claims only 10K users are affected, the problem is fixed, and they somehow know nobody used the leaked information. Big problem though, they didn't fix anything, and Krebs estimates 37 million customers affected. After demonstrating the website still was gushing customer PII, and finding some more Panera websites were affected, they took all their sites offline. So basically if you used their online systems to order Panera, your information is probably out there. Posted by: bonhomme at April 03, 2018 11:14 AM (iv0p7) 64

Marx found that often the strongest defenders of capitalism were the petite bourgeoisie that had elevated themselves from craftsmen or workers into shop owners. They barely qualified as capitalists, but they saw their membership in the ownership class as essential to their self-definition and fiercely defended it. Today the lowest members of the knowledge or professional class are journalists, and that's why Jennifer Rubin is so sneering and nasty.

It amazes me (well, not really I guess) how much the left viscerally HATES differing thoughts/opinions.
Take FOX news. Look at the rabid, foaming at the mouth seething hatred a single solitary cable news network gets. There are literally 20 left wing 'news' outlets to for every conservative 'news' outlets. It boils down very simply and frighteningly to this: They wan't total eradication of anything and anyone that dares to have a thought outside those that are currently sanctioned and deemed 'appropriate'. Mobs of uneducated hateful slobs roaming our cities and towns in search of the next life to set on fire. Action needs to be taken against these insane people. They need to be shocked back into their own little safe spaces and learn the hard way that maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't run around threatening to kill those they disagree with and instead could attempt to open a real dialogue that they clamor on about Ad nauseam Take the second amendment issue as a perfect example. They start out with phrases like "comprehensive reform", "bi-partisan solutions", "national discussion" and "gun control" at the beginning. Then as they get more bold, the truth comes out which is complete and total confiscation of all firearms and a repeal of the second amendment. Even just last week we were lectured on how silly a notion it was for us Deplorables to even FATHOM such a ridiculous and fear mongering idea. We get lectured and laughed at for trying to sound the alarm on the very thing the left claims we were so bitterly clung to but is attempting to do exactly that. I get a little tired of people telling me that cause I I'm white, male and conservative that I am not allowed to express my opinions unless I agree with them, because of reasons. Sort of sounds like they want me in the kitchen, making them barefoot food, on the back of the bus, on the outside looking in, being seen and not heard. Or, Shut up, Ms Rubin explained. So, a Subway with delusions of grandeur, then?
No. Subway has bread that wants to kill me. I assume it's the bread, the meats and veggies look harmless enough. There's something about the way they have the dough ready to be baked in store that must be full of death. I went through a Subway phase because hey cheap fast looks and tastes good, but always ended up with an aftertaste of death. No, Panera is an entirely different animal. The Mexican Economy minister in Auguest 2017 threatened to flood US with third world immigrants if they did not get a favorable deal on NAFTA.
https://tinyurl.com/y9lbzdbg bold move since they make out like bandits on the deal. And they make out like bandits on sending illegals here that send back billions in remittances. The "you didn't build that" quote works in this instance. America built the infrastructure and educated the builders and entrepreneurs, and the profits should go to the communities where those (built) resources are deployed. But instead Mexico comes up here and rapes us, does the work and lives partly on welfare, and sends profits back to Mexico. And it is not only the dollars the exit, it is the confiscation of our culture as our population is flooded with 10 illegals for each one that gets a visa, and they live in their own communities, breaking codes and laws, dependent on others that pay taxes. Something that may be interesting in the future is that there is now a blood test to confirm autism with a very high level of accuracy. Perhaps the test will be even be able to be performed on the fetus. Since the Obama administration lumped both autism and high level functioning Asperger under the same name of ''autism'' it's going to be an interesting event for the abortion supporters. Yes, but with at least a couple of advantages.
1. If you hang out at a Panera, you don't come out smelling like Subway. I'm not being snarky about this one by the way, my wife can literally smell Subway on me without me telling her I was there. 2. Rubin doesn't consider herself "white." That's the problem with a lot of #NeverTrumpers who though lily-white, believe that the fact that they are Jewish allows them to stand outside the white line, or box and that they are somehow protected from the mob---while allowing them to throw the bolt of "whiteness" at others.
I know this is uncomfortable for a lot of folks here to admit, but what else accounts for the fact that so many Jewish pundits, writers and intellectuals on the "right" hate Trump --and his supporters so much? Posted by: JoeF. at April 03, 2018 11:57 AM (7uYFy) 270

Hikaru #72: ...at what point does commenting on an old thread become unadvisable?...
3 threads old = Autoban, I think. First time I ever saw that one (3 threads old). I've read a few times that if it's still on the recent-posts menu on the front page, it's safe to comment. /rant-on Some suspect the actual timing is based on a complicated formula involving the weather in New Zealand and the phase of the moon. Nobody really knows. No cob, not Ace, not Pixy, not the hamsters, maybe Bob at the NSA but he's not talking. It's all murky and arbitrary, and worst of all threatens banning unwary innocent customers of the site, just to thwart spammers. Seems simple enough to me that if a thread is (a) a certain age or (b) so many posts down or (c) comments slacked off to zero for more than two hours... whatever the criteria... when that thread is aged out and flagged as no longer open for comments, just replace the comment input with a line that says comments are closed. I think they should just shut down the border. Completely.
They can't allow one of these invaders in. Oh and hows about arresting these people who sponsored this stuff? They violating the law. The entire problem would be shrunk to manageable dimensions just by putting businesses who hire illegals out of business. Go in, weed them out, fine the business enough to pay for the arrest and deportation, fine the business for any illegal who has stolen an ID. Make the illegal pay a fine also. Anyone wants a Visa, they must produce a return nonrefundable ticket back to their country and must carry it on their person at all times. We can track airplane tickets can't we? That ticket number will be on the Visa. Overstay the visa, escort to the airport and off they go. No muss, no fuss, no court proceedings. Frankly they should have certain sections of border declared a free fire zone. Posted by: jakee308 at April 03, 2018 12:05 PM (yT99I) 303

287 okay, before everyone freaks out about the Caravan of Lost Souls, reflect that this is a media op. Maybe the story is being helped by some on the right, smart move if it is.
BUT IN REALITY - the so-called caravan is stuck in a field over 1,000 miles away from the US border and all of their transportation and plans for transportation have broken down. Interesting. Doing some math, I can walk at about 3 mph with ease. Maybe eight hours a day continuously, so 24 miles a day. So over forty days to go 1,000 miles if I accept your distance. It's not all flat ground so I think you're 24 miles a day estimate is too optimistic by half. Posted by: Flawless Male Logic at April 03, 2018 12:09 PM (lKyWE) 323

Has anyone (thinking Jack Straw, perhaps?) seen the Rosenstein memo of 8/2/2017 that gave Mueller the green-light to go outside the Russia mandate? Filed last night to counter Manafort's argument Mueller went beyond his scope. Daily Caller said it was "heavily redacted" which makes me wonder if the redacted part dealt with permission to also move into Trump's personal finances, etc. Seems interesting that Rosenstein did not make this public, if just Manafort focussed. Also, would have been right after he signed the FISA extension on Carter Page.

Posted by: Huck Follywood, I'm your Huckleberry! at April 03, 2018 12:09 PM (LISuA) I haven't used LibreOffice for any work-related stuff. Works fine for my limited personal needs. I have OpenOffice on this Win7 box right here, and it sort of chokes on the work-related files I do, both .docs and spreadsheets. It will open the MS-native files, but it loses some of the formatting, and my modified files, once saved, have formatting fuckups when re-opened in Word or Excel. "Tables" in Word documents are particularly bad. To get nit-picky, using Word and Excel, I can open a text file of data, say well survey numbers obtained from the directional driller, by importing it into Excel, then re-arrange the columns to fit the standard format of the report I generate, and paste from Excel into a blank Word table in the template report. Which is a huge time saver over retyping it all. That won't work in OpenOffice. I need too buy a copy of Office 2007. My leaders at work are also resisting moving to Win10. Doing "confidential" work in a cloud environment is worrisome. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at April 03, 2018 12:19 PM (vUFR0) 379

This talk of long distance traveling reminded me of a family story I never knew about til recently. My father's father died in 1974, and he was always a sick man who didn't care to talk much when I knew him. I could never think of him as anything other than that, but talking with my dad recently he told me a story that gave me a whole new light on Grandad - he had wanted to sign up for the Army in WW1, but he was 17 and an older brother had already gone, so his parents wouldn't let him do it. He got mad and left home in South Dakota to go out and be a cowboy on a ranch in Wyoming.
But he got homesick as Christmas approached, and so in December 1918 he rode his horse all the way from Cody, Wyoming, to Sisseton South Dakota, a distance of about 700 miles. Timed it so that he surprised them all and rode in on Christmas Day. Now that was one hell of a ride. Posted by: Tom Servo at April 03, 2018 12:35 PM (k1TUh) 449

Posted by: JackStraw at April 03, 2018 12:31 PM (/tuJf) --- Neither do I. I'm not partial to one law-breaker as another. But it's the "lying to the FBI" charges that are BS. Also I read of Manafort's work in the Ukraine, he was a media and campaign consultant for politicians of thawing tyrannies that were just starting to get to the point of needing consultants. He even suggested a very-pro-Putin client of his appeal to the West (to strategically move away from Putin). How trying to smooth relations between the Ukraine and the West became a case that he was an unreported agent of the Ukraine is beyond reasonable inference (from what I read). Also, Sessions only recused himself from "all matters" having to do w the election. I honestly don't care about Manafort or Gates. They are apex swamp
creatures and seem to have no problem taking money from some pretty nasty people to try and influence US policy. I'd rather he was prosecuted through proper channels but the DOJ has let this kind of stuff go on for years so I can't say I'm going to lose any sleep over Mueller putting the screws to him. ===== Unfortunately, the old saying 'there but for the grace of god go I' is operating here. Yes, nobody really cares about the individuals involved, but I truly care about our laws being subverted. The nastiest alleged murderer is still entitled to a vigorous defense and if the prosecution, with all the weight of the government behind it, cheats: the government has failed. They may all be swamp things, but I will not sit aside and allow our laws to be twisted because someone is not taking money from the 'right' people. 425 But Linux has improved a lot since then.
Yeah. Improved. That's the ticket. I've been working on an embedded application for a while. Theory being that Linux automatically logs into the account that runs the app and when the app exits, the system shuts down. Now that I've got it all figured out, I'm putting together a unit for cow-orkers to fiddle with. Instead of shutting down, I get error messages that make zero sense. Well, just in the couple years I've been dicking around with this app, things have changed. Instead of just plunking the appropriate entry in sudoers, something called PolicyKit has sprung up. Except its official actual name seems to be "polkit", despite what the mysterious error messages say. Now I have to figure out how to make polkit bless a user account shutting down the system. This was also apparently a surprise for the folks that put the distro I'm using together, since they didn't bother to install polkit, so I have to figure out how to do that, too. And the system involved isn't connected to the network, so that means I have to figure out what bits it needs to download, download them to something else, then move them to the target system. grumble, grumble, grumble.
