When Steele asked his FBI handler to come see him in London to hear the wild and crazy things his paid cut-outs were hearing from their paid sources in Russia, the handler needed a go-ahead from someone in State. Enter Victoria Nuland. If Victoria Nuland sounds familiar, it might because she straight-up lied to James Rosen when he asked if the US was engaged in bilateral negotiations with Iran in 2013. The State Department then deleted that lie from the official video record of the presser, in order to erase it from reality. The saga began in 2013, when then-spokeswoman Victoria Nuland blatantly lied to Fox News correspondent James Rosen that the U.S. was not engaged in bilateral talks with Iran. This was revealed to be false. Asked in December of that year if lying was necessary to achieve policy goals, Psaki told Rosen that diplomacy needed "privacy" to progress at times, appearing to acknowledge that Nuland had lied earlier. Last month, Rosen revealed the clip of that exchange with Psaki had been excised from the public record. Initially, the State Department blamed it on a "glitch," but spokesman John Kirby admitted Wednesday that in fact it was an intentional deletion, although he said he couldn't say who had ordered the deletion. Psaki denied having anything to do with it.So let's just say while she's not credible, she's reliable, at least as an apparatchik for her masters. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

NYT story out speculating that Shulkin may get the boot at VA and be replaced by Rick Perry. Of course, it's the NYT, so who knows, but I think that would actually be a very good move.
Shulkin in an Obama holdover who should never have been retained - I always thought he was one of Trump's few bad appointments, and now Shulkin is just letting the rot get worse and worse while he vacations in Europe. Energy is a pretty sleepy agency and Perry has sort of disappeared over there. That certainly means he's doing a good, scandal free job, but he's got the stature and experience to do a lot more then just be a glorified office manager. Giving him a mess like the VA to clean up would suit him perfectly, and he's just the right guy to do some serious house cleaning. Posted by: Tom Servo at March 13, 2018 05:46 PM (k1TUh) 38

So far, it kind of looks like a Russian intelligence operation.
Russian intelligence agents, who previously had paid both Steele and FusionGPS (for supposedly unrelated work) concocted lies about Trump and fed them to Steele, who may have been paid by both FusionGPS and his Russian contacts for this "work". Clinton hitmen Sid Blumenthal and Cody Shearer also contributed some fantasies to the collection. Assisted by Nellie Ohr (who was some sort of editor/ghostwriter for Steele), Chistopher Steele then polished those reports and passed them to the State Department, FBI and John McVain, as well as to every single news organization with whom FusionGPS had ever cultivated contacts. In addition to the Russians, FusionGPS had long been employed by the DNC, the Obama campaign, the Clintons, other enemies of the United states, both foreign and domestic, and PerkinsCoie (the money laundering firm of choice for the DNC). Is this correct? So far, I mean. Posted by: Huck Follywood, anti-weather at March 13, 2018 05:52 PM (rBnYq) 60
This is fake news to attempt to keep people off the real story. Mike Rogers shut off FBI contractor access on April 18. The next day Glenn Simpson's wife makes her only visit ever to the White House, on a 'tour' that was scheduled just two days prior on the weekend, unlike everyone else who has a minimum of 2 weeks, according to White House website.
New book by Steele stenographers says Fusion GPS was hired by Obama campaign using the same law firm as a middleman. After visiting White House, Fusion GPS within a month was hired by Hillary campaign and hired Nellie Ohr and Chris Steele. Fusion GPS was likely an FBI contractor that had their access shut off. They then hired Steele to launder what little they were able to pick up. Posted by: MikeN at March 13, 2018 05:52 PM (o/eHL) 61

Trump's talk to the Marines in the hangar was OK, not great. Not great only because when he mixes in too much political stuff, it just seems not to fit for such an audience. They have license to roar for red meat like destroying ISIS - but references to political opponents, past/present, just don't flow as well in that setting.
Didn't see any "protesters" at the base - just cameras. And my gawd, the SD mayor is a ridiculous tool of the first order. Jeezus. A "Republican", too. This time he beclowned himself by implying that Trump opposes trade - and you see, SD benefits from trade. Trump made, for the 2nd time, an intriguing reference to CA "begging" the feds to erect border barriers in some locations. He didn't specify, but repeated that the entire border will be done, not just segments. Can't figure out what this all means, can't imagine which border sectors CA cares about (SD sector, which has had barriers for decades, is only part of CA border with barrier). The ones I know, spouit this kind of stuff of the top of their heads, swear it's true, then start arguing about it with you by throwing in additional incorrect facts until you can't argue with them anymore as nothing you are talking about is true or accurate. Just watch Jessica Turlov on Outnumbered at noon. She does exactly that, she begins a comment then says something completely false, as others are trying to correct her or get her to admit she is wrong , she then starts rambling on with another falsehood. There are a dozen in a row before she takes a breath and by then, everyone is chiming in , at which point, she will stop everyone and make a simple proclamation that is universally accepted, but has nothing to do with the lies she just spouted. My girlfriend said to me Sunday evening, "I still remember to wash my hair every day" and laughed. She was totally in the moment then and it felt like I was with my dear friend. I wanted to cry. A few minutes later, she held up her sunglasses hanging around her neck and said, "Are these mine???" Damned f***ing dementia. She's so young. OT, local story:
I know some of you have autistic kids, but as a general interest in political malfeasance story this is a bad one. Here in Rochester, a 14yo boy Trevyan Rowe, who was autistic, got off his schoolbus during a snowstorm and nobody knew where he was for 4 days. He was recently found in the river. The school never called the parents because 3 different teachers marked him as present. It was only the substitute bus driver that called it in, approximately 6 hours later. Missing child alert went out about 2 hours after that, with the wrong description, wrong direction. The schools superintendant today accepted full responsibility, full stop. While the teachers, 911 and the police [and the media] all dropped the ball, he sat with the mother first, told her he was responsible, apologized without equivocation, then obtained her permission to do the same publicly. He will also force through changes in procedures before resigning. People are angry but I do have respect for that guy. He didn't weasel it in the slightest. Hmm... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Kagan "Robert Kagan (born September 26, 195 is a neoconservative American historian and foreign-policy commentator. Kagan, however prefers the term "liberal interventionist" to describe himself.[1] Some have characterized his approach to international relations theory as realist.[2] A co-founder of the neoconservative Project for the New American Century,[3][4][5] he is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.[6] Kagan has been a foreign policy adviser to U.S. Republican presidential candidates as well as Democratic administrations via the Foreign Affairs Policy Board. He writes a monthly column on world affairs for The Washington Post, and is a contributing editor at The New Republic. One word: Unions
The unions are particularly powerful in PA-18 (Pennsylvania does not have right to work laws) and they are all backing Lamb. Posted by: Surfperch maybe they don't like the tariff. maybe trump will leave it in place if that happens. who knows? Posted by: x at March 13, 2018 06:15 PM (nFwvY) Leo Gerard, the president of the United Steelworkers Union, which is the umbrella organization for a number of other unions, was standing right beside Trump in the Oval office this past week when Trump signed the tariffs. He has been a Trump supporter for quite a while. Except for concern from some of the parts industry for machines and autos due to possible rising steel prices, the steel union guys are on board with the tariffs and know where they came from. Unions aren't really the problem. From what I understand, Saccone is less than a stellar candidate. I've known that little tidbit of information for years. I'd love to come before some Congresscritter committee and ax one of those idiots, "Hey, if you're so smart, then what's the answer to that question?" "OK, how about non-ferrous metal?" OT, but I looked at that clip somebody linked of octo- and nonagenarians filmed in the 1920s and it was fascinating to think some of them fought in the civil war. One guy was a Whig! Very eloquent for toothless old gaffers.

Here's another great conspiracy. Cars don't actually burn gasoline. They run off of the explosion created when you compress the oxygen and nitrogen naturally in the air. Gas pumps don't actually pump gas into your tank, they merely run the counter and let a little dribble off of the tip when you replace the spout. This secret is kept by millions of gas station attendants/owners gas distributors, auto manufacturers, auto mechanics. YouTube it. It is a hoot.

Posted by: #neverskankles at March 13, 2018 06:42 PM . . .It ain't just animals. On the flight we took from Columbus to Dallas last week there was a mexican guy with two huge duffel bags that he carried on the plane. So what are PM May's "retaliation" options?
Unleash some urban yute of undisclosed background on the Russian embassy in London? Have one of the Royal Navy's ships do a port call at Severomorsk and, like most of that Navy, be unable again to leave port due to funding issues? A strongly worded letter from the First Sea Lord? What? Posted by: Very Unstable Semi-Genius, AKA rhomboid at March 13, 2018 06:46 PM (OkKDg) 272

Think of all the BS from the tarmac, the deleted emails (accidentally of course) the basement server, the DNC refusing the FBI to look at their server, the Clinton fund (atm) the bullshit dossier paid for by team shrew, fostered and promoted and stories from her hacks Blumenthal etc. etc. etc. etc. The list goes on.
