My guess is McCabe and his friends were into some very illegal activities as the bequest of the Whitehouse. Leaking investigations, covering up and rewriting interviews. Uncovering Americans names. Lying to judges to get surveillance. Makes Watergate seem like High School senior prank.

Wow! It's not often I'm up for the EMT. I crashed early last night before the ONT, and of course woke up early. Luckily it's Saturday.
They let me out of work early. I needed some help from cow-orkers pushing me out of the parking lot, but once I got on the road it wasn't too bad. The main roads were slushy but passable. I just took it easy. There were a few traffic lights that were out, and some people pulled out in front of me from side streets, which kept me on my toes. When I arrived home, about 1/3 of my driveway was in the wind-shadow of a large bush and was snow-free. But there was a pretty big drift between there and the garage. I went into it and bogged down. I backed up to the clear area, got some traction, and went forward again. Going back and forth like that several times, I eventually made it into the garage. Sure there will always be those who held out getting theirs till late, and the widget fanatics who collect them.

I have a big birch tree in my front yard that constantly sheds small twigs and branches. I always have to go through the yard and pick them up before mowing.
Just a couple of days ago I noticed how the yard was covered with them and made a mental note to go out and clean them up as soon a I get a nice weekend. When I got home last night I couldn't believe how many new ones were lying on top of the snow! It was like the storm pruned the tree. Which is a good thing, I guess. 2 killed at Central Michigan University, gunman 'armed and dangerous' still at large
Mount Pleasant officials are searching for James Eric Davis Jr., a 19-year-old black man who opened fire inside Campbell Hall at Central Michigan University around 8:30 a.m. Police described the shooting as a 'family-type domestic issue.' The people he shot were his parents and I am sure the university was a gun free zone. As well as the fact that he was under 21 and he used a pistol which was illegal for him to have. Update @0415: He has been apprehended. Family and friends 'shocked'. He was such a nice boy. http://tinyurl.com/y6wv6jru Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at March 03, 2018 05:39 AM (mpXpK) 27

NASA has always been a jobs program; part of that Military - AeroSpace Industrial Complex that Eisenhower warned us about. Posted by: Skandia Recluse at March 03, 2018 06:22 AM (roQNm) The SLS is definitely a jobs program, but NASA on the whole isn't. The moon race in the 1960s was an important battle in the Cold War, and NASA kicked the commies' asses. The list of groundbreaking NASA planetary missions is endless. Pioneer, Voyager, the Mars rovers, Cassini, and the stunning Pluto flyby a couple of years ago, just to name a few off the top of my head.. Russia has launched about a dozen Mars missions since the early 60s, and not a single one succeeded. They are really snake-bit in that area. Meanwhile, India successfully put a satellite into orbit around Mars on their first try. Go figure. Posted by: rickl at March 03, 2018 07:16 AM (sdi6R) 130
26 Illegals amnesty turds lose a big one.
It is a big one. During TFG's reign of error, illegals set for deportation could only be held for 6 months and if they weren't gone by then, according to another bonehead lower court ruling, they had to be released. No more. TFG refused to make other countries take back their dirtbags, and so they were set loose upon us yet again. Trump is of course using our withholding financial aid packages and other pressures to make moar places take back their wayward citizens, but now even if they refuse we can essentially hold em indefinitely. It's not the best option, but much better than releasing thugs back onto the US population. Buh-bye, catch and release. Well, at least one version of it. The late Dr. John Bremner, the guru of copy editing at the University of Kansas, had a hilarious entry on masculine descriptions in his book "Words on Words." Speaking lotteries, a couple days ago before the torrential downpours turned into snow, the alternator on my car stopped working; fortunately the garage that I use wasn't busy so I took it there and waited for it. It's located next to a Hebrew school and while I was there some Ortho came in and plopped down some cash for one of those lose instantly scam games that the state lottery cottage industry produces to gull the rubes. I told the cashier that I thought the Orthos were too smart to throw away cash on that garbage and she said that he was buying it for his son. Needless to say that initiated a rant on parents teaching their children the wrong fucking thing. I guess the concept of winning through just dumb luck has a universal appeal.

NASA has always been a jobs program; part of that Military - AeroSpace Industrial Complex that Eisenhower warned us about. Posted by: Skandia Recluse at March 03, 2018 06:22 AM (roQNm) Oh please. It was Eisenhower who ordered the creation of NASA (out of the older NACA) to start with, because he wanted the space program to be a civilian operations. Up until that point, it was the military that had been working on the problem. And something else that some people seem bound and determined to ignore are the political realities here. Whether it was back in the late 1950s, when the space program really got started, or today, sure, they could have kept the operation concentrated in a handful of states. But had they done so, we never would have gone anywhere in space. The money had to be spread around the country or else the job would never have been done. It's the nature of the beast. My minister emailed me recently, and as a result of the ensuing conversation I am now a man without a church. Apparently, the Episcopal denomination has too many adherents and so I have to leave. I know the feeling. I've left the local Presbyterian Church I'm still technically a member of for the same reason. I wasn't asked to, but you get tired of being obviously given the cold shoulder by all of the leadership solely because they're hard libs and it's their policy to sideline anyone who doesn't praise them personally. Huck, that's a shame.
I'm glad to be United Methodist. Officially lefty but more moderate in practice. The pastors I've heard steer mostly clear of politics. Sermon a couple of weeks ago was on the Broward killings. Pastor singled out a YT video of a guy who sawed apart his AR-15 because he concluded that it was meant only for killing. Yet pastor didn't go as far as proclaiming that gun ownership is sinful. (We have no firearms in our house.) Now some of this may be because we're in Oklahoma. I've heard that the UMC in other states is more extreme. But I'm not there, so it works out. I don't talk much politics either, but I did cut off a fellow member who started off, "I support the Second Amendment, but --" I interjected, "No. Either you do or you don't."
