Inspector General's report on FBI/DOJ's activity vis-a-vis Russian "collusion" drops this month.

Based on the rumblings and what little has been released so far, it's shaping up to be a serious Schiff-storm.

9 Wow! It's not often I'm up for the EMT. I crashed early last night before the ONT, and of course woke up early. Luckily it's Saturday.

They let me out of work early. I needed some help from cow-orkers pushing me out of the parking lot, but once I got on the road it wasn't too bad. The main roads were slushy but passable. I just took it easy. There were a few traffic lights that were out, and some people pulled out in front of me from side streets, which kept me on my toes.

When I arrived home, about 1/3 of my driveway was in the wind-shadow of a large bush and was snow-free. But there was a pretty big drift between there and the garage. I went into it and bogged down. I backed up to the clear area, got some traction, and went forward again. Going back and forth like that several times, I eventually made it into the garage.

10 In supply and demand eventually everyone will have what they need, widgets are nice, and you can have a few and its still nice but eventually everyone who has widgets will say they have enough. When the real heavy snow falls and the plow has pushed up a nice pile of it in front of my driveway, I back into to it. Going back and forth a little at a time. That way with a front wheel drive car the drive tires are in a "cleared" area.

20 I have a big birch tree in my front yard that constantly sheds small twigs and branches. I always have to go through the yard and pick them up before mowing.

Just a couple of days ago I noticed how the yard was covered with them and made a mental note to go out and clean them up as soon a I get a nice weekend.

When I got home last night I couldn't believe how many new ones were lying on top of the snow! It was like the storm pruned the tree. Which is a good thing, I guess.

Mount Pleasant officials are searching for James Eric Davis Jr., a 19-year-old black man who opened fire inside Campbell Hall at Central Michigan University around 8:30 a.m. Police described the shooting as a 'family-type domestic issue.'

The people he shot were his parents and I am sure the university was a gun free zone. As well as the fact that he was under 21 and he used a pistol which was illegal for him to have.

43 The nor'easter took me by surprise. I expected rain mixed with snow, but with temperatures around 40 I didn't think there would be any accumulation. I just thought it would be rainy and windy in my area.

The temperature went down to 34-35 and I got about 3-4" of wet, heavy, slushy snow. Scattered intermittent power outages meant some traffic lights were out, which made for an interesting commute home.

It's amazing what they can do. I went in for an ankle surgery in 2009 and they had to knock me out with a general. And I was out for about 6 or 7 hours.
I had surgery on it again last may. They can now pinpoint the nerve(s) that are going into the foot, numb that all up, and gave me something like Twilight stuff they use for colonoscopies. I was out for the 2 hour operation and maybe an hour more. Half an hour to get my bearings and out the door.

Rain and high winds here yesterday turned to wet, sloppy snow and high winds by mid-afternoon. Power flickered but never was lost.

Mrs. K and I have a gem and mineral show to attend in AM then I hit the gym this afternoon. Snow likely will melt away during daylight hours.

The last time I looked at the SC code the punishment was tailored to the false report. If it was a misdemeanor offense the false report was a misdemeanor. But if it was a felony, the crime was a felony. Accusation of a violent rape in SC is a felony.

My oldest son has gone a couple of times. He is big into lifting now. It is very popular and very crowded.

I'll say that anyone younger than 18 can vote if he or she is married, a high school graduate or earns at least $1,000 in taxable income. Such people have taken significant steps into the adult world.

I'll also say that anyone with the right to vote also has the right to buy cigarettes. I would insist on this point. Let's see how that would fly.

Oh please. It was Eisenhower who ordered the creation of NASA (out of the older NACA) to start with, because he wanted the space program to be a civilian operations. Up until that point, it was the military that had been working on the problem.

And something else that some people seem bound and determined to ignore are the political realities here. Whether it was back in the late 1950s, when the space program really got started, or today, sure, they could have kept the operation concentrated in a handful of states. But had they done so, we never would have gone anywhere in space. The money had to be spread around the country or else the job would never have been done. It's the nature of the beast.

My minister emailed me recently, and as a result of the ensuing conversation I am now a man without a church. Apparently, the Episcopal denomination has too many adherents and so I have to leave. I am very sad about it, because I love services, but I guess it was sort of inevitable.

I know the feeling.

I've left the local Presbyterian Church I'm still technically a member of for the same reason. I wasn't asked to, but you get tired of being obviously given the cold shoulder by all of the leadership solely because they're hard libs and it's their policy to sideline anyone who doesn't praise them personally. Well, I look at national numbers and that group has got maybe 20 years left and they're finished.

I'm glad to be United Methodist. Officially lefty but more moderate in practice. The pastors I've heard steer mostly clear of politics.

Sermon a couple of weeks ago was on the Broward killings. Pastor singled out a YT video of a guy who sawed apart his AR-15 because he concluded that it was meant only for killing. Yet pastor didn't go as far as proclaiming that gun ownership is sinful. (We have no firearms in our house.)

Now some of this may be because we're in Oklahoma. I've heard that the UMC in other states is more extreme. But I'm not there, so it works out.

I don't talk much politics either, but I did cut off a fellow member who started off, "I support the Second Amendment, but --"

I interjected, "No. Either you do or you don't."

Wonder how she'll greet me tomorrow.
