Jake Tapper a Former Spokesman for Handgun Control, Inc.?
So says Gateway Pundit, quoting an old news story identifying one "Jake Tapper" as a spokesman for Handgun Control, Inc. (which would later become the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence).
Now, I suppose it's possible that the Jake Tapper mentioned here is not the same Jake Tapper who a large number of cucky "conservatives" have homoerotic (at the very least) crushes on, but I've scanned Jake Tapper's twitter feed for a claim like this -- "Wrong Jake Tapper," that kind of thing -- and as far as I can tell he's just completely ignoring it. And when someone in the media simply ignores a charge that they obviously have the power to respond to -- well, you can decide for yourself. Of course, CNN did not disclose this before, during, or after its rowdy, Beer Hall Putsch-style "townhall," nor have they ever disclosed it, as far as I know. By the way, a father and daughter have come forward to accuse CNN not of "scripting" questions as another Parkland student alleged, but at least of only soliciting a certain kind of opinion for their political advertisement masquerading as news.Two victims of the February 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, have now come forward to say CNN producers filtered out opinions contrary to the rabid demands for gun control and confiscation that dominated the network’s Wednesday night town hall. I hope you are correct. That said, there are a lot of people who believe otherwise.
We are not a majority. Plus I did not say they would win. Just how they would proceed in answer to a question about what they would do in the cities to confiscate firearms from felons.
And let's not get into how the military would balk at fighting citizens. There are a number of assumptions about that that are not guaranteed to happen.
And there are ways to frame the confiscations such that a large portion of the public would not take a side.
It's worked in a number of attacks by the Federal Government in the past. And this time they would be very serious with a law to give them at least the appearance of legitimacy.

I don't believe anyone could predict what will actually happen when it comes down to the wire.
Everyone eventually reaches that point where they must make a choice and take a stand regardless of the consequences.
It will depend a lot on how they go about it.
There are ways they could approach confiscation so that the counter action would be minimized or spread too far so that they could be overwhelmed.
If it happens quickly and in a overwhelming fashion many may be convinced it's not worth trying to fight.
Look at history and how many people did surrender their firearms most knowing inside what would happen but hoping they were wrong.
People need to make a decision in their heart and mind NOW and not when someone comes to the door.

Want to register to vote? Hmmm...looks like in 2011 you purchased a gun. Before you are allowed to vote, we need to see that gun turned in.

There will be a LOT of people who won't go register their firearms.
Then
it will be a waiting game. You won't be able to carry without fear of
being searched, or if an accident happens and your house can catch fire
and they'll discover your firearms that way. The Gov can be very
patient.
And don't forget that this is a liberal bureaucracy. Maybe they'll do it in defiance of any thing said by Trump?

.As I pointed out above we just need to look at CT and NY. 10-15% compliance rate for their new gun/magazine registration laws.
Multiple that by about 10-15 million Nationally who refuse to register their guns. It will become a nightmare if the Fed tries to confiscate guns. Even if they can get LEO's to go along with the scheme.

At this point in my life, I am thinking that how I have lived it is only a part of the story. How I will die is intruding on my thoughts.
In this hypothetical, will I die on my feet or live on my knees? Which choice would allow me to approach my father, God test his soul, and say I did the right thing? What about my kids?
I am sorry this turned morbid. I do think that while it is true no one will know exactly what will happen, that does not mean it will be a surrender. It just means we do not know exactly.

There are 100,000 gang members in Chicago alone. And they probably have more than one gun each. They may hand them over, but they know where to get the next. It will depend on a lot of factors.
Lexington and Concord succeeded because the Brits were arrogant and stupid. They didn't believe the civilians would stand up to them.
One note: the Revolutionary war probably lasted longer because they used mercenaries against the colonists. This aggravated the colonists to no end and made them more willing to fight. Plus the mercenaries didn't fight as well as they would if it had been their country. (maybe)
I pray that Trump has the sense to deny a universal back ground check law.

And yet right now as we speak the ghettos of American are full to bursting with felons who have massive arsenals. Everyone knows this. The cops knows this.
AND YET, the cops do absolutely NOTHING to attempt to "confiscate" the guns of felons. If a felon happens to get caught red-handed at a crime scene with a gun, then yeah, they'll confiscate it. But the cops do NOT -- nor do they have the right to -- kick in the doors of felons and search their houses for guns. Even though probably well over 50% of felons in bad neighborhoods most definitely have guns.
Now, in some putative future gun-ban scenario, multiply that by a hundred. A thousand. There's no way in a zillion years that cops will be kicking in every American's door to search their homes for guns:
a. The cops simply don't have the manpower. Nothing even close to the manpower;
b. The search itself would violate the Constitution, totally aside from the second amendment; SEARCHING for guns violates the FOURTH Amendment.
c. It would be trivial for most gun owners to hide the guns, so they couldn't be found even if there was a search.
d. The police for the most part would not willingly participate in a left-wing power grab, since most cops are not left-wingers.
e. Finally, the "Cold dead fingers" crowd would actively resist. All it takes is a few token resistors to inspire the nation. There would be millions of resistors. The whole confiscation system would quickly fall apart.

Doesn't need to be your average middle class person. There are a shit ton of people in circumstances that would allow someone to "do something". It won't take but a few highly publicized LEO/family, politician/family incidents to put the fear of God and a highly pissed off 2A population in their hearts.

With direction from the Broward deputies who were outside, Coral Springs police soon entered the building where the shooter was. New Broward County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, and two of those deputies and an officer from Sunrise, Florida, joined the Coral Springs police as they went into the building.
Some Coral Springs police were stunned and upset that the four original Broward County Sheriff's deputies who were first on the scene did not appear to join them as they entered the school, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. It's unclear whether the shooter was still in the building when they arrived.
What these Coral Springs officers observed -- though not their feelings about it -- will be released in a report, likely next week. Sources cautioned that tapes are currently being reviewed and official accounts could ultimately differ from recollections of officers on the scene.
The resentment among Coral Springs officials toward Broward County officials about what they perceived to be a dereliction of duty may have reached a boiling point at a vigil the night of February 15, where, in front of dozens of others, Coral Springs City Manager Mike Goodrum confronted Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel. A source familiar with the conversation tells CNN that Goodrum was upset that the Broward deputies had remained outside the school while kids inside could have been bleeding out, among other reasons."

I agree with you. I've known crazy Kennedy assassination conspiracy theorists and my eyes would gaze over as they would explain their intricate thoughts on how Hoover or the CIA or LBJ or Hoffa got Kennedy offed.
But now? Yeah, it's pretty damn clear the media and the Dem party are hand in glove. And government agencies are in league with the Dems. That's not crazy talk - all of those entities have one thing in common - they want government to grow, and they want Americans dependent on the government.
