I've worked with (legal) Mexican immigrants and they not only love America, but are friendly and work hard as hell. In fact, all legal immigrants I know love America, love it a lot. And I want more of those in this country.

I've been to a few restaurants that seem to be more authentic than most. One Balkan, one (south) Indian.
They are not good at taking the bones out of the meat. This results in a boring and unpleasant experience of doing what the chef should have done.
Also possible that they just don't want Anglo's business so are deliberately fucking over Anglo's meal, or at least not making the effort. Or they're fronts for illegal activity.

That story is a little more complicated than the headline makes it out to be. Both teacher and student were overage (21 and 18 respectively) so this is not a case of statutory rape. She was not his teacher just a teacher at his school so I think there is only a dubious claim of abuse of power. His parents are urging the DA to drop charges saying their son initiated the relationship and that they are serious about each other. It is still an icky situation but it should not be illegal.

Then you should know what it's like having someone cut in line. I have zero problems with Mexicans. I love going there, I volunteer at an orphanage down there once a year sometimes twice. What I have a problem with is someone essentially sneaking into my house raiding my refrigerator and having the cojones to tell me I am out of milk, demanding I go get more. When we staying in Guatemala, we witnessed some guys on the steeply sloped roof of a hotel in construction, about 16 stories above the ground, with no safety equipment whatsoever. No hard hats, no tie-offs, not even sleepers on the roof to catch people or tools, no nets at the edges.
They just monkeyed themselves all over that roof to do the work.
We also did not witness much in the way of progress, but that's also a situation generally south of the border.
And who is OSHA to demand that they give up their native culture, anyway?

Culturally, most third world countries have a pretty low estimation of the value of human life, since they're pretty much surrounded by death all the time. But I do NOT believe it is justified for there to be the possibility of a criminal conviction for the same conduct - that truly is, in my mind, a constitutional violation. Since other 18 and 21 year olds can engage in identical conduct with no fear of a criminal case being made against them, they are not being given the equal protection of our law.

A couple weeks ago, I was marveling while I watched a mexican with a leaf blower down the street - he was on top of a tall second story roof with a 45 degree pitch, just walking around hanging onto his leaf blower because the home owner wanted him to get the leaves out of the gutters and any corners. No safety ropes, no harness, 1 stumble and *splat*.
Amazingly, he made it off that roof in one piece. He probably got $20 for risking his life like that.

This. Vicente Fox was completely open about the fact that he wanted to facilitate his compatriots' entry into the US and ability to take advantage of such things as their "fair share" of SS. He's one of the elites. What do they care if basic things like education and social/economic mobility aren't available for those below? Let them get across the border for their education, major surgeries, and jobs.
Over the long haul, it's bad policy for Mexico just like open-borders is bad policy for us. Can a country prosper when it gets all its cash infusions from elsewhere? Compare Mexico to Honduras, which thinks that the exodus of young workers is a crisis and a threat to its future.
