Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | California Democrat Assemblyman Resigns Immediately After Wave of Sexual Conduct AllegationsAs Comrade Arthur says, "So it is possible that a Democrat can resign..." He had previously said he would resign at the end of his term, but now with more women accusing him of "unwanted touching," he's decided to resign immediately.California Assemblyman Raul Bocanegra said Monday he is resigning effective immediately after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment and unwanted touching, after previously announcing he would wait until the end of the legislative term. "Upon further reflection during the recent holiday weekend, and conversations with family, friends, supporters, I have decided to resign earlier from the State Assembly effective immediately, which was my original intention," Bocanegra said in a statement released Monday.Incidentally, Al Franken gave a quick presser in which he basically repeated what he'd said in his earlier statement to local papers -- in fact, he specifically quoted himself. Once again he said his memory differed from Leeanne Tweeden's, but did not say what his memory was. Once again he offered Apologies Without Admissions. He apologized for effects alleged -- making women feel "uncomfortable" -- but not for any specific actions on his part, such as groping, that caused those effects. Franken is basically denying these allegations without saying so. Being a Democrat, he is required to Believe All Women (or pretend to), so he contradicts them implicitly rather than explicitly. He claims to not remember if he groped strangers -- a bizarre failure of memory, as most men, I think, can remember all breasts and buttocks they've fondled. So what he really means when he says he doesn't remember this happening is that it did not happen, but he can't actually say that. He just implies they're liars -- he doesn't say plainly that they are. Such is the progress Democrats have made since they suddenly developed a conscience about Bill Clinton's serial sexual crimes two weeks ago. They've made the huge leap from claiming female accusers are nuts and sluts recruited from trailer parks to make rightwing conspiracy allegations to merely strongly implying they are, while apologizing for making them "uncomfortable" being paid liars for Richard Scaife. Curmudgeon, I doubt there's any hope for the GOP in CA, unless/until it began to offer some dramatic alternative, and not the watered down, "not who we are", Yeb!-like crap that it usually does. And even then, no hope. Because CA voters are - obviously - pretty much incapable of self-government. Lulled into complacency by prosperity and often very competent government in a previous era, now dumbed down beyond recognition.
Given the CPSU-like, degraded state of things in Sacramento, I can imagine the sexual and other misbehavior is epic. There is only one party (the powerless one is mostly pathetic in its own right), and even THAT party doesn't really run anything. The teacher's union, public and select other unions, and a few moonbat cause-f**k groups literally tell the legislature what to do. And now, in his final phase of moral and intellectual collapse, Brown mostly goes along (even a few years ago, he held the line on certain craziness). Is there another state legislature where union lobbyists yell at incumbent legislators, in front of their staffs, as though they are lowly employees held in contempt (which they are)? Jazz Shaw: There's a fine line between respecting constitutional rights and clever lawyering, with this looking very much like the latter. It sounds like the Doctor's attorneys were throwing everything they could find at the wall to see if something would stick. One issue was the practice of the FBI paying small bits of reward money to Best Buy technicians who notified them when potentially illegal images were discovered. Also, the image in question had been deleted (as you might expect him to do before turning over the computer) but was recovered from "unallocated" space. And finally, there was the argument that the picture of the nude child was "child erotica" which apparently isn't illegal (!?!?), so all of the actual hardcore material discovered on his phone was fruit of the poisonous tree. After prosecutors missed a deadline for filing an appeal they basically gave up and the judge dumped the case.
Jazz apparently a big fan of FBI gestapo tactics of getting third parties to rat out their neighbors. People would take their computers to the Geek Squad to get them repaired. The Geek Squad would search the hard drive for images of illegal things and report them to the FBI for a bounty. This is wrong and any case using this type of "found" evidence should be thrown out. Additionally, the single image the Geek Squad found was not technically illegal, but the FBI described it a child porn to get the warrant to search the house and seize other computers, where actual child porn ultimately was found. So, yes, a child pornographer walks, but we can not have government abuse like this. Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at November 27, 2017 06:43 PM (BoMuO) 81

Sadly, I concur. And the last CA politician who saw what was coming, Pete Wilson, was a RINO in so many respects. But Pete understood that the GOP could never win a Hispandering Contest, something Jack Kemp and the rest of the GOPee did not. Granted, NO Republican can win if the A-Word ever comes up--this state is abortion on demand and will remain so until the end of the time even if the monstrosity of Roe v. ace did you know that just a few years ago, at one time, about 10% (3) the ruling state Senate Dem caucus was under felony arrest? Betcha didn't (like the rest of CA and America, cuz, no press, duh).
One for campaign finance violations (IIRC) - the Hispanic guy; one for violating various rules about residence of record etc. - the black guy; and the best, one for *international arms trafficking conspiracy* (not making this up) - the Chinese guy (who BTW was also one of several leading obnoxious gun-grabbing authoritarian pieces of garbage in his party in CA). Yet, mysteriously, this was a non-issue. The "press" inexplicably did not mount an hysterical "culture of corruption" campaign, nor did the "opposition" party, and the stupid lazy electorate remained mostly unaware, and as always unconcerned, about it. Dunno, but can't imagine any of the perps were replaced by anything other than carbon copies (as to ethnicity, and vile alien values and policy ideas) in their districts. Curmudgeon there is key truth in your milestone analysis about how/when CA changed. Added to this of course were mass immigration, much of it illegal, and the degradation of public education and civic culture finally starting to take its toll.
IC, the story of the lobbyist dressing down the office-holder in Sacramento, in his office in front of his staff, actually was talked about briefly, on the fringes, when it happened. Your story surely has been repeated dozens of times. The only limiting factor is that few of these people need to be screamed at to know what they must do. A particularly delightful bit of lawless race-baiting Third World degradation lately has been the public, Saddam-like boasting of a prominent Dem (DeLeon) about all the illegal family members he has here. He may run for governor. Perfect. There is no hope for CA in my lifetime, but it's frustrating that (so it seems, so far) the Trump administration doesn't realize what it's up against, and what sort of serious application of power will be needed to smash the racist lawlessness in this state on immigration. That at least would provide some entertainment, as the vile idiots ruining the state would be smacked down and humiliated to some extent. Posted by: rhomboid at November 27, 2017 07:01 PM (QDnY+) 136

A woman who falsely claimed to The Washington Post that Roy Moore, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Alabama, impregnated her as a teenager appears to work with an organization that uses deceptive tactics to secretly record conversations in an effort to embarrass its targets.
In a series of interviews over two weeks, the woman shared a dramatic story about an alleged sexual relationship with Moore in 1992 that led to an abortion when she was 15. During the interviews, she repeatedly pressed Post reporters to give their opinions on the effects that her claims could have on Moore's candidacy if she went public. The Post did not publish an article based on her unsubstantiated account. When Post reporters confronted her with inconsistencies in her story and an Internet posting that raised doubts about her motivations, she insisted that she was not working with any organization that targets journalists. But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups. http://tinyurl.com/ycqsrhz7 WaPo My response: a swing and a miss. I have in my day been as big a dog as Paul Bunyan's friend Sport. Love the feel, sight, heft, smell, and umami of boobage more than lobster in drawn butter. But a huge part of the thrill is the consent, and better, the desire of the gropee. "Suzy Hotpants let me get to second base" is a thrill and a memory". "I grabbed Suzy Hotpants' boob when she passed out and now her brother wants to beat me up" is just pathetic. It doesn't show anything about your suavity among the distaff. It says you're an ass, so you don't say it. Without reciprocation of some sort boobage is just an interesting texture. It should turn her on, then it can turn you on. rickl, actually a slight variation on your humorous idea is one I think should be part of a federal onslaught here.
Civil rights suits against officials directly involved in release of illegals sought by the feds who then go on to commit serious crimes. Along with the other two elements: * strict reciprocity by federal LE when dealing with "sanctuary" jurisdictions - basically ignore their needs and requests apart from national security cases * simple binding language in appropriations bills making expenditure of select federal $$$ in CA dependent on DOJ/DHS certifying full cooperation by state and local authorities in enforcing immigration law There's nothing at risk in CA politically, and - amazing yet true - you'd have majority support for most of this tough action by the feds in most parts of the state. Speaking of which, I am reminded of a brief period in the 2000s when the American Spectator went haywire and goo-goo-for-globalism, when George Gilder and the other technofuturists briefly took it over.
Maybe in their little enclave immigration is nothing but upside, but not for the rest of California, let alone the rest of the nation. It was a state you could aspire to move to. Now I just wish all the Californicators that have flooded Colorado would just STFU and go home.
