Lulz: Tony Podesta's Law Firm Sends a Threatening Letter to Tucker Carlson, Threatening Suit and Even Threatening a "Copyright Action" if He Reads the Letter On the Air; He Reads the Letter On the Air

I'm sure Jake Tapper will go into his typical theatrics about this effort of politicos caught in the Mueller probe attacking the sanctity of the press.

Video at the link.

As the Bible says, "You can't cuck the Tuck."

Thoughts from another site re: Johnny P.:

To summarize the irony in these tweets, here is our loose understanding of how we arrived at this point:
John Podesta lost an election; He and his party enlisted the support of media partners to launch an
all out crusade against the newly elected administration alleging,
among other things, treasonous collusion with a foreign government to
effectuate a coup in the U.S.; That crusade, while resulting in no actual evidence of collusion
with the newly elected administration, has now engulfed his own party in
a collusion investigation of its own.

70 The cease and desist language is blah blah blah standard boilerplate before filing a defamation/slander suit. Depending on jurisdiction, you have to give the alleged offender a right to correct and retract so that's normal stuff.

The you can't quote this because it's under copyright is hilarious. Utterly hilarious. That is actually a sovereign citizen tactic.

Eh, lawyers get paid all the time to write stupid stuff. We're in the middle of a situation here where the Boss has used the puppets to explain to a client why what the client wants us to do is very much not a good idea. But the client wants us to do it and it's not unethical and we've told the client the options and explained the situation and stupid thing we shall do.

Once upon a time, at the old firm, one of my bosses came to me and said "you can't really expect me to take this position in court" and I said "sure I can, because that's all we have."

Sometimes you have to do the stupid thing because that's all you've got.

There is another way to look at this. That is, like the Zimmerman case and the St. Louis Michael Brown one where one of the effects was to make good people more afraid to get involved in things where they might end up a target for the vindictive left later on.

Papadopoulas pled guilty to lying about a Russian official offering thousands of Hillary emails. Why would this Russian official's offered emails be any more believable as being true than the dossier Russian officials "spoon fed" to Christopher Steele?

The whole of the Russian effort was a disinformation campaign of lies they made up to cause chaos in the US political system. Due to Democratic Party and Obama administration officials swallowing the bait whole this has worked like a charm.

Wouldn't it be more believable that the Russians and the Democrats colluded together in this effort or are we going to get the usual excuse that the Democrats were just stupid not evil.

To be clear, it is tens of thousands spent by "individuals or organizations with ties to the Russian government" which doesn't mean any of it has any actual ties to the Russian government.

But the interesting thing here is what is not being reported. How much money did "individuals or organizations with ties to the Chinese" government, or Saudi, or hell British government spend on the election? No one knows? Interesting that...

114 Nice that Tucker is smart, and has lawyers and Fox resources.

Show me the man and I'll find you the crime ... that trick runs right over most men, especially when it comes from a thug like Mueller. It can take years, millions and the Supreme Court to correct those attacks. (as it has in Mueller's previous assaults) And many never get corrected.

Lawfare needs to be a crime itself ... the use of prosecution or civil action as the actual punishment ... often by the crooked, as warning to the innocents. Thug tactics. Snitches get stitches ... or expensive and disruptive malicious lawsuits.

Besides the fact that Soros & Buffett et al were funding bigly, anybody could go to the website and donate, and allegedly many did from overseas.

194 Doesn't matter, by the end of next month, there will not be a Podesta Group. Podesta resigned, and they are liquidating the old firm. They are forming a new firm as fast as they can, so the new firm gets the clients.

It will be run by Podesta's senior execs, and probably hire all the previous employees.

Wasn't an excuse at all. I was simply saying that I don't know what Sessions is doing if anything. But I was also pointing out that he has had the FBI files that nobody outside the Obama administration even knew existed for 7 years and he also has control over a confidential FBI witness who also was hidden for 7 years since he took the job.

And now that information is being released to Congress. Perhaps he is also using it to look into what has been going on. The DOJ doesn't typically put out press releases when they do investigations until they are finished.

Just about a week ago the FBI announced that a long term surveillance investigation resulted in the arrest of a jihadi wannabe in Florida. The buy was planning to set off a bomb in the Dolphin Mall in Miami. Nobody knew it was happening until after the investigation was concluded.

That is how the DOJ is supposed to work and did pre-Obama.

219 Story time!

*waits for everyone to get popcorn*

The short version (don't do it Horde). We had a client with severe social anxiety who used puppets to communicate. If you asked her a question, the puppet would answer for her, that way it was the puppet speaking to you, not her. Sweet woman. Cray cray but sweet.

We handled a case for her and sent her on her merry way. A year or so later, she was in another accident and came back to us. A new lawyer was assigned to the case and she stuck her head in my office before meeting with the client to ask if there was anything she needed to know since I'd worked with the client before. I said nope, nothing at all.

Cut to half an hour later. I'm sitting at my desk, all innocently, when my office door is thrown open. There was the lawyer, all stabbing her finger in the air at me and yelling YOU KNEW! YOU KNEW ABOUT THE PUPPETS AND DIDN'T TELL ME!

I may or may not have started laughing so hard I was crying.

And even though it was a floater, it still feels so good to smack that thing out of the ball park.

Your right to counsel at government expense is for certain types of legal matters (think criminal and in NYC, residential tenants in landlord-tenant proceedings) and depends on how much money you have. If you have insufficient resources as determined by the Court, you get court appointed counsel you do not have to reimburse.

He is directly responsible for the situation the Trump administration finds itself embroiled in.

Over the course of his tenure, I have seen nothing that indicates he is doing anything with regards the wonton and out of control corruption that is being discovered on a daily basis.

If by summer of next year multiple indictments of high officials in the Obama administration, Clinton World or the DNC for the MULTIPLE crimes we know were committed, then they aint ever happening and
Jeff Sessions will go down as the most repugnant and disriputible piece of shit to ever hold the tile of AG and that's saying something.

360 >>By next year we should know whether or not Sessions has failed Trump. It's just a bit too soon yet to judge.

Ever heard of Dana Boente? Up until last Friday he was the US Attorney for Eastern Virginia, he was an Obama holdover. His office assisted in the raid on Manafort's house last summer.

He was also the acting head of the National Security Division of the DOJ which means it was his office that would be overlooking things like US government officials taking bribes from foreign governments. He was also briefly, like a couple days briefly, the Acting Attorney General when Trump fired Sally Yates and before Sessions was confirmed. He abruptly resigned last Friday and virtually nobody saw it coming.

In March, Trump also altered the line of succession at the DOJ through an EO that would elevate this position to 3rd in the DOJ pecking order.

Sessions is working to fill this office along with the other 93 vacant US Attorney seats but this one is very important for a number of reasons not the least of which would come with an investigation of Uranium One issues.

361 I am reserving judgement on Sessions because of the following train of thought:

There is a certain sort of Southern male, who is twice as smart as everyone around him, tenacious as a bulldog, and works three times as hard--but, he never lets on about that. He just quietly assembles his win and then hands you your guts on a big old family heirloom silver platter tastefully garnished with parsley and radish roses.

Yeah, she wasn't a phony. And considering that it was the same contingency fee as everyone else, it wasn't a play to reduce fees. If anything, it worked against her because there was no way in hell any decent lawyer would let her anywhere near testifying under oath.

She was just very sweet and very kind and very much on the edge between she's just the oddest duck and she needs professional help, voluntary or otherwise.

>>He inherited an awful mess, after all.

Indeed. Probably a toss up between State and DOJ for the most corrupt agencies under Obama.

He is not just replacing people like Boente, which is potentially huge for Russia related investigations, he's restricting the agency and hugely importantly it's relationship with state and local police departments that Obama worked hard to federalize.

Things in DC don't move at internet speed and that goes double for anything legal related. Doesn't mean nothing is happening no matter how much some people rage about it day after day after day ...

I hope you've seen Boston Legal. There was a character on it that they called Hands (I think). Your story reminded me of that show.

391 Isaiah 23:1-8

23:032:001 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

23:032:002 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

23:032:003 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

23:032:004 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

23:032:005 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

23:032:006 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

23:032:007 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

23:032:008 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
