Brit Hume Argues With Bill Kristol and His Minion Stephen Hayes Over Kristol's Slur of Political Rivals as "Collaborators"

Bill Kristol, who's always been a vicious little twat, divides the world between the noble "dissenters" (his crew) and "collaborators" (people who disagree with him and his crew).

Good question to ask him and Hayes: Has the Weekly Standard ever fired someone for being insufficiently anti-Trump -- that is, have the so-called "dissenters" ever purged someone dissenting from their conspiracy-besotted Twitter-obsessed worldview?

It's worth asking them. I keep asking them, and they keep on not answering.

Sean Davis lays into this dessicated foppish nepot:

I don't know what this meant, but it's probably true:

All I know is that the same clique calling for a purge before the election are now whining that mean bullies are trying to silence #TheResistance.

49 The Clintons, Obama, and the DNC conspired with Fusion GPS to fabricate a false report about a political adversary. That report was then used by the FBI, under the guise of national security, to get a court to issue a national security warrant to spy on that political adversary.

The report was also leaked to media allies and printed. That in an effort to get a special prosecutor to investigate their adversary, with an eye towards prosecutions and even impeachment.

I think "collaborator" is a perfectly apt term. We just need to use it against the right people. Like Kristol.

This proves to me, at least, that their allegiance is not toward conservatism nor toward America... but toward their little clique, their tribe. They have an elite and a view of things which Trump disrupts more than President Hillary Clinton would have.

279 228 My biggest problem with nevertrumper types is this.

The proper approach toward President Trump is to be glad of him vs the alternative, and to be at least neutral toward him unless he does wrong.

Instead, they despise him and grudgingly will give slight credit if he does right, as if somehow he's a foe they can't stand approving of.

This proves to me, at least, that their allegiance is not toward conservatism nor toward America... but toward their little clique, their tribe. They have an elite and a view of things which Trump disrupts more than President Hillary Clinton would have.

-----

President Donald Trump is an existential threat to their livelihood. He does not need them.

Even worse, his actual accomplishments he has made so far put a lie to their continuous campaigns for more money to advance the "Conservative Agenda" and their bank accounts.

The property tax is a fantastic idea to take the thrill of home-ownership and mix it with useless rent receipts.

I own my home and rent my property. What a fvcking concept.

I pay about $1,000 a month to rent my property.

282 I don't care to make predictions about the future because for the last 10 years or so, politics have made no sense. All the old patterns, indicators, and trends that you could use to see how things were going failed. Nothing follows pattern any more, its like the country has gone crazy.

I suspect, but don't have any real evidence for the belief, that this means we're in a transition period to... something else.

I mean the left no longer is really even the left. They've abandoned pretty much everything they used to fight for, hold to, argue in support of, and seek. They don't even really want leftist ideas any more. They just want power and control, they want a new feudalism where the get all the stuff they want, and a permanent underclass serves them and provides for them.

The right doesn't really stand for what it used to, either. Patriotism, national identity, virtue, constitution, all of it is being set aside and squabbles over who gets to call the shots are all that really matters. We have a president who is nationalistic, but wants to heavily regulate international trade with isolationism. We have a congress that wants lower taxes, but hates nationalism. We have a republican Party that doesn't really seem to comprehend what they even stand for except "not that guy."

What happens next? I don't have the slightest clue. I just have a sinking suspicion that its not good. I think we're in a slight pause before things really go badly. But I've felt that for over a decade now. Maybe its just me.

A 2 km long tunnel extending into Israel. I wonder how they blew it up? I recall video of a tunnel demolition in Gaza, taken from the air in 2014 -- a line of dust about a mile long suddenly appeared on the surface.

I know there's a gopher killing tool that floods tunnels with a 97/3 oxygen/propane mix and then ignites it. If you do the arithmetic, that would leave a 75% oxygen atmosphere after
detonation, presumably red hot. Maybe it extends the explosion by feeding on organic dust knocked loose by the first explosion. Speaking of dead rodents.

__________

If it's offset with an overall lower rate, I'm all for it.

My understanding is just the deduction for state income tax (SALT?) is being eliminated.

Politically, I'm surprised they went after this as there's very little room for error and all it takes is 1-2 Senators to walk and the whole thing falls apart.

Republicans probably should have just gotten an across the board cuts and put a win on the board, but I hope they are able to also kill a deduction that subsidizes the blue states.

Both are good long-term economic policy, but adoption can cause sharp short-term pricing dislocations. The first would be felt across the country, but would be more severe in places with high home prices -- the suburbs of Blue Cities. The second would hit Blue States.

I live in a Blue State in a suburb of a Blue City. It'd be like calling in an artillery strike on my own position, but I'm for it either or both.

And that's just wrong. If they need to use some force to collect unpaid taxes, it should come from another source, some other means of regaining the lost funds. Seizing your home is just proof that you don't really own it. Its unAmerican at the core, proving that there is no right to property in this nation.

We need a team of hot shot lawyers, a foundation whose only purpose is to go and challenge this crap in courts and get it wiped out. One by one, go after every loss of liberty and get the Supreme Court to look at them. At worst, nothing changes. At best, we gain back a little freedom.

338 From my perspective, if you are a landowner, you have a vested interest in the place where you live. Town, county, state, country. You should pay taxes and have a right to vote based on that.

Right, I have no problem with the concept of paying taxes. that's not unreasonable. Its one of those slight concessions to civilization that you give, at a small loss of liberty. But the payment should not be attached to ownership of your home. The state should not be able to take your property for failure to pay taxes. Its like jailing people for not paying taxes: how the hell are the taxes ever supposed to get paid then?

359 All taxes ARE forced seizure of your time and effort at the point of a weapon, ultimately. And that can, in a certain sense, be defined as theft.

BUT, and this is an important one... in order for a society to exist, in order to have civilization and any sense of structure and safety, some small level of it is required. We can't have a nation, or neighborhoods, or any kind of culture if we don't have at least a minimum of government, and to do that, we have to have some amount of taxation.

Its the social contract: we give up a slight amount of non essential free exercise of our rights in order to gain a large amount of stability, safety, and civilization. Its just when that proportion gets out of control that we have problems.

I mean, paying a tax for the general benefits received for your home seems reasonable: roads maintained, street lights, sidewalks, cops, fire department, etc. Sure, I can see that.

But in the end, all it does is end up making your home belong to the state and you paying rent like a peasant every month, to your liege lord. Its you paying for the 'privilege' of them watching over you. You never really own your home.

Don't think that's true? Stop paying the tax and see what happens.

Yeah, I'm not a constitutional scholar like our dear former president, but which amendment is it again that says something along the lines of "Women free of the burden of children being necessary for the functioning of a hyper-sexed-up state, the right of the people to murder children shall not be infringed"?

I think it's after the one about quartering soldiers, but before the one about double jeopardy.

It's about power, prestige and at the end, their relevance.

Guys like Kristol are used to having us plebes as well as politicians come to them to understand the "nuances" of running the country. Trump was a giant middle finger to all of that and said he would do things his way.

What is the purpose of the Bill Kristol's of the swamp if none of us need them?

Fritz @346, by coincidence, the special counsel shares the last name of the long-time head of the Gestapo, Heinrich Mueller. The "e" after the "u" is the way the umlaut is expressed in English, since we don't have that symbol. Of course Mueller/Miller are some of the most common names in the US (and Germany).

Mueller is the highest ranking Nazi leader whose fate remains undetermined, though there is no reason to believe he got out of the area around the Fuhrerbunker.

441 Does Kristol ever list what his biggest beefs are?

Withdrawing from Paris framework/restoring some sanity and science to EPA?
Gorsuch appointment? Other judicial appointments?
Moving (even if fitfully/too slowly) to change/end O-care?
Moving aggressively on ISIS? Other moves back toward sanity in national security? Showing signs of moving out of the disastrous Iran deal?
Tax cuts and reform?

The above listing (incomplete) is more like a wet dream for someone Kristol pretends to be, not an indictment.

He and his ilk are ridiculous, but if their meltdown pushes even a few Americans towards more self-sufficiency in their political analysis, there's some benefit there I suppose.
