Spacey is being attacked by other gay actors for allegedly conflating the charge of sexual harassment/assault with just being gay.
Rapp, best known for starring in "Rent," said in an interview on Sunday that he was a teenager when Spacey made a sexual advance toward him and pushed him down on a bed.Here's Spacey's statement about the charge, in which he claims he doesn't remember the incident, but if it did happen he was drunk, and also, he's gay and please respect his privacy.

I mean-- low budget has an easier time of recouping the budget, since they don't require more tickets to be sold than there are people or whatever that stat was for that one expensive movie.

Star Trek Discovery actually managed to be better than The Orville last night, though. A twisty, turny time bending episode with Harry Mudd causing all kinds of havoc. I was shocked at how fun it was, cause the show had convinced me that it was generally terrible up to that point.

I know the fact that he is gay was a pretty open secret but I had never heard he was a predator other than today from Rosie O'Donnell.
Which brings me to my rather large problem with this whole Hollywood scandal... accusations made years after the fact are literally irrefutable for the alleged perpetrator. I have a large problem with "victims" who don't actually complain (or file charges) at the time of time they are assaulted (or flashed or whatever the charge would be). Accepting as truth charges leveled years later, and by people who have something to gain by even falsely accusing someone of wrongdoing, encourages witch-hunting NOT due process and justice.
That, of course, doesn't touch on the level of bad parenting involved in letting a 14 year old attend a grown-folks party with drinking and party goers of questionable morals.

Pretty much all of those fans have a
reverse switch on them. In the winter if you reverse them they circulate
air up and it comes down along the walls so the heat gets circulated
back down and will keep the heat in the room more uniform. Doesn't blow
your shit around. Helps with the heating bill. Maybe you already know
this, but thought I'd mention it.

I agree. I suspect it is possible for male homosexuals to recruit male teenagers who are somewhat malleable in orientation. Getting sex from girls is difficult (or used to be, at any rate), and involved a considerable amount of farting around. I dunno about trauma. I suspect homosexuality is a developmental error occasioned by excess or deficient testosterone in utero, and/or excessive or deficient activity of testosterone receptors in the fetus.
Note that this conjecture would explain the observation that many (but obviously not all) homosexuals display traits associated with the opposite sex.

I think that's true of females, males not so much. I've known women who went though a brief lesbian phase in adolescence and later settled into heterosexuality and got married and had kids. I would say I've never heard of a guy who did the same, but no man would ever tell me, "I'm happily married to a woman now, but liked sucking dick occasionally when I was young."
I guess that those are the guys who suddenly announce they are gay after 20 years of marriage to a woman. My guess is they had the homo feelings when young, fought it, and then either cheated on the wife while married or repressed it until they couldn't any more.

You really should look at the article and the research methodology.
Yes, it would not hurt to peer review. But that's going to be the strangest peer group ever assembled. Computer scientists, imaging experts, facial recognition specialists, psychologist, etc. I can't see how you could get that group to ever form a consensus about even where to order lunch.
But it's results are going to be blasted 24/7 by the gay community. For not dotting enough i's and crossing enough t's.

I don't attend church anymore, but when I did it was a large one. Children loved the Sunday school programs. The church hired an FBI profiler with expertise to interview all people who were going to work with children. Didn't matter who you knew or how much you gave to the church.
They have never had a case of molestation or abuse. There's other pre-cautions they take, but that was the biggest.

There was an awful case in Maryland a few years ago where a pediatrician was charged with molesting many of his patients. He had also taken pictures and made videos of them.
If a pediatrician wants to examine your kid without you in the room - don't let him.

Seems likely. And, insofar as that would suggest a large boundary/potential area to the area of those "born gay", it arguably makes pederasty and pedophilia *more* troubling. The pederast identifies himself as having "helped" someone realize their sexuality, when in reality it would be more like taking someone *particularly* vulnerable and materially affecting their chance at a normal life. After this latest revelation, I've been trying to figure out what is going on here.
I think it's a coup of sorts. Or I did, thinking it's the Grrl Power Movement trying to take over. But that wouldn't explain exposing the gays. Sure, it's male homosexuals so far, but still that's a protected group. Even if we get Grrl Power running Hollywood, the only acceptable males in any of the programming will mostly be homosexuals.
I'm also reminded of something Spielberg said several years ago about how the movie business is changing big time and in the future it's going to be quite different. I don't think he was talking about outing people for this sort of stuff, but I think he was signaling that Hollywood is in trouble financially and soon wouldn't have the clout it's had for decades. A lot of it is how people are consuming media now. It's becoming normal for people to not watch cable television or go to movies. Personally, I haven't darkened the door of a theater since Cloverfield came out and I think that was 10 years ago.
The thing is if it's the Lena Dunham Brigade who takes over, Hollywood will tank even faster because they'll take dreck to a whole new level.
Hollywood isn't really needed anymore because any goon with a camera and some sound equipment can make a film and then distribute it themselves over the internet and through social media. It might not be that good, but most of what comes out of Hollywood isn't good now.
All we can do is sit back and watch what happens...and also cut the cords and help the fire burn brighter.

While working as a bartender in LA, about once every 2 weeks or so, we have one of those guys come in around closing time-
you know the angry or sad or depressed or all three, the guy who was going to drink himself stupid, just slugging the drinks down-
so being a kindly bartender you'd go over there and say something like "Rough day, huh?"-
and like I say, about once every two weeks or so, the drinking his blues away guy would say- almost to a man-
"I didn't want to be gay but my (insert coach, priest, step-father, uncle, teacher, etc) molested me."
and that might be it or more often they'd tell you their molestation story.
So, yeah, I think underage sexual molestation is a big problem in the gay community and yeah, I think it can permanently affect the victims.
Scientific study? Nope. But, it sure was weird how often it happened, and how unhappy these guys were.
