Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Republican Civil War: While Charles Schumer and the #SalonHot25 Mourn the Retirement of Jeff Flake, Real Conservatives Point Out His Habit of Carrying Liberal WaterThis guy, Jason Johnson, is a former Ted Cruz strategist, and now is at an outfit called J2 communications. He posted a series of tweets discussing the #SalonHot25's/Weekly Standard's/Chuck Schumer's favorite liberalitarian Senator. The liberal wing of the "conservative" movement has the sadz about this, claiming that we lost a "libertarian" voice and a staunch advocate of limited government. How is the guy voting repeatedly for huge omnibus spending bills and clean (no strings attached) debt increases a fighter for limited government? The guy who fought for the Import-Export bank and for the Newton gun grab is a "libertarian"? At what point do the #SalonHot25/Weekly Standard/etc. drop the pose of pretending they're SUPER-DUPER Conservatives, which is why they're always attacking us, and just admit the obvious truth -- they're left-leaning Rockefeller Republicans who prefer their conservatism, if at all, to be in the form of rhetoric in campaigns, and not in the form of any actual real-world policy expression? @Drew_McCoy -- the coblogger formerly known as "DrewM." -- posted this: Something I don't think enough professional Republicans understand/appreciate about the frustration with guys like Flake... He and other Republicans never talk about liberals, hardcore lefty types, the way they do about parts of the GOP coalition they don't like. You may say that the parts of the GOP they/you don't like are worse than anything on the left, ok. But that's not going to move your voters. Flake is on MSNBC right now saying it's wrong for the GOP to talk about cultural issues. That's not something a Democrat would ever say.I've been saying that for a long time too (though I was reading Drew and talking to him on podcasts, so I may have just been influenced by him). But I began to see what we now call "the Establishment" preached the importance of coalition politics during voting season, and then entirely forgot about coalition politics during governing season, giving the Corporate Class/Rockefeller Republicans all that they wanted (corporate favors) and nothing that they didn't (any icky conservative "social" policy), treating the actual base like whores they just fucked when they needed a quick release. Every two years they'd give us the 2am "U up?" sext and then forget all about us the morning after the election. Both sides, or rather all factions (as there are more than two sides) need to get something out of the deal. One faction can't get everything, or else the other factions get resentful and, ultimately -- mutinous. Drew adds: And don't tell me the professional GOP wing are the adults in the room. They ran on the idea that ObamaCare was destroying the country. They then walked away from it in months after winning. How the hell can you do that and expect people to say, "yeah, you guys are worth following and tying our fate to". Not going to lie, of course I take pleasure in being proven right. But this is scary shit.Welcome to the mutiny, Ye Traitorous, Cowardly Captains. Ye will be made to walk the plank. It might not right the ship, but at least we'll have the pleasure of being rid of you. Oh, and enjoy this clip of Laura Ingraham noting, correctly, that Jeff Flake's speech could have just as easily been given by Charles Schumer or Nancy Pelosi. Obviously true, given that Charles Schumer praised his very good ally Jeff Flake, saying "he will be missed." An extra vote for Democrats on all the tough votes-- yeah, I'll say you'll miss him all right. What would Charles Schumer do without all of his Corkers, Collinses, and Cornyns, his McCains, McConnells, and Murkowskis? There is no more useful soldier than one you've positioned inside the enemy camp, let alone one you've placed in the enemy's command structure. Update: Good Ben Domenech piece about the Legacy Republicans who can't change their corporate/establishment stripes. He includes this fine tribute from that most super-duper libertarian/conservative institution, CNN:

One other vote that always pissed me off is when Flake was a Congressman, I believe he was the only member in the entire Congress that voted against legislation that created the "Do not Call" list that allowed consumers to put their name on a list to not be solicited because he thought it was anti-business to phone bank companies.

Here is how Republicans "negotiate"...
Imagine there is a scale that goes from -100 to +100. -100 is everything conservatives want, +100 is everything liberals want. Republicans start out negotiating at 0. In other words they already cede 100 points to the left. And then the final settlement is at +50. Dems on the other hand always start negotiating at +100. And they are happy as fuck to walk away with +50. Reps get 25% of what conservatives want, Dems get 75% of what liberals want. Every single fucking time. Posted by: #neverskankles at October 24, 2017 08:36 PM (1JAxC) 16
Drew's comment still skirts the issue. These Vichy GOP turds are collaborators with the left. Plain and simple. There's really nothing "Republican" about them.

Other than some temporary tax cuts over a decade ago and two SCOTUS jurists the GOP has produced nothing of value for reoughly 20 years. And for a bonus, the supposedly fiscally conservative GOP, having controlled the House for 18 of 22 years, exploded the debt from 4 trillion to 20 trillion. They have also offered up the first true budget in nearly a decade that's has a 600 billion dollar deficit. The GOP is not a Conservative party. The GOP is a useless pile of dog shit. The GOPe became the party of Little Old Ladies who are unwilling to fight... because its not nice.
Interesting thing about Men I've known... a LOT of Men put up with a LOT of shit from their Women, because its often just easier to not fight about it... And then the Woman is suddenly surprised one day, when the Man has hit his limit. When she does something so stupid, he calls her on it and lays down the law. That's the point we are at with the GOPe, and Washington in general. They are our damn Mother in Law, who is used to being able to tell us silly shit... but they have finally crossed the line. Yup... suddenly Mansplains reality. Posted by: Don Q. at October 24, 2017 08:50 PM (NgKpN) 83

Hey, I was SCREAMING about this and more before the Iraq war, and now one listened to me either! Also, the Republican don't have to talk 'cultural issues', just enforce the fvcking laws they are there for! Like, the Immigration laws. And do their jobs, like Obamacare repeal. And have a replacement. They had a decade to cobble something together. But noooo, they are going to cocktail parties with lobbyists and laughing about the stupid citizens. They don't & haven't cared for the people for a long time. Hell, why should they, other than integrity, honor or ethics. But we don't "do" those anymore. Their calculations are pretty clear. Dems are so far left, Republicans won't vote for them. That leaves the GOP. They just have to make some promises and they keep our jobs. Some hope is better than none at all for the rubes. they won't be satisfied until the hordes of muslims appear on the horizon about to breach the defenses and carry off the women.
The media is like Venice in the time of the collapse of the Byzantine Empire. They claimed they were trying to support the Empire but it turned out only so they could ascend the throne. Trouble is their sack of the Empire let the Muslims in to finish off the Empire and thus the Ottoman Empire was born. To last almost 600 years. And the fables of those times infest the day dreams of ALL the Muslims in the ME. They LONG for the days of the Empire and feel they've been ripped off somehow that the Kafir hasn't laid down and prostrated themselves to them. But somehow may actually be winning (again) alone with the hated Jew. Enough. Islam is an infection that we've been trying to eradicate for centuries and we were almost there until the crypto Muslim took office. Now once again we're back and this time I hope we can finish off any dreams of Empire once and for all at least for a few generations. Sonobi at the Outrage Outlet! at October 24, 2017 09:35 PM (66/E/) Why I don't consider marriage a fair partnership: They don't cook, they don't sew, they don't clean, they don't wash, they don't do much of anything that their mother did for their dads. Yet they expect that you will support them in all things. (maybe money but mostly cheerleading) They want your undivided attention. They provide Sex or sexual gratification reluctantly. with strings. They burden you with their parents. They deflate your ego and every opportunity. They complain you're not the man you used to be. But when you explain all that they have done to make this happen, you're uncaring and cruel. They want lots of material items but her money is her money. You're supposed to provide for everything. She complains you don't go out anywhere. She works in an office where her work load consists of moving papers from one place to anoother while you have to life and carry and sweat. (need I go on?) Now of course it's not that bad in every marriage all the time. But it's almost that bad almost often enough to give an observant man pause for thought. When I'm ready for the feed bag and the bridle, I'll let you know. Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That (Back from the Dead) at October 24, 2017 10:04 PM (cEeb1) 221

Female Democratic politicians (Scankles), pundits and others (Michelle Obama) cry sexism in electoral politics.
So why haven't they endorsed Nicole Mallliotakis for Mayor of New York City over Bill DeCommio, and Kim Guadagmo for Governor of New Jersey over Phil Bernie Goldman Sachs Murphy? I'd love to hear their answers. In truth, they really don't want more women to get elected to high office. They want leftists to get elected. Murphy will be elected Governor of New Jersey, because fatzo's last four years as governor have been bad (Bridgegate only scratches the surface), NJ is a deep blue state, suburban voters in places like Bergen and Middlesex Counties are heavily Democratic, and even with a Republican Governor for eight years, the Democrats held both houses of the state legislature. Many voters have forgotten who Jon Corrine is. DeCommio will be re-elected Mayor of NYC: 40 percent of NYC voters have never voted for a Republican for any office. Trump got 19 percent of the vote in NYC. Malliotakis voted for Trump. Finally, it took 30 years of decay and mayhem before Rudy Giuliani was narrowly elected Mayorr in 1993. Another 30 years of decay and mayhem will be needed before a Republican can win again.
