ONT: DAY OF RAGE! Edition

Nah, not really. It's just the shrieking harpies on the left going nuts over the Congresswoman Wilson Gold Star feud reminded me of this cartoon:

Islamsplaining.jpg

My fondest wish is that I could give them all exactly what they want. Truly it is. If there was a continent like Australia available, I'd favor moving them all there at our expense and I'd sincerely wish them all the luck in the world with their little Utopia. Samuel Adams would approve.

Samuel.jpg

WHY LET THEM GO?

Why, they are clearly our betters, just ask them. But if that's actually true, Kurt Schlicter wants to know why they can't actually be, you know, better.

It's not just the left. Kevin Williamson, who is probably still butt-hurt that he didn't make the Salon 25, writes a long column that he charmingly calls The White-Minstrel Show. The last 1/3 of it is good. He makes the point that so much of the reason that poor people are poor is often due to the poor choices they make. This is a valid point, and one that conservatives need to emphasize to counter the victim mentality. The first 2/3, however....he might as well have written “Fuckin' white trash” and left it at that. That's his biggest problem. He's a smart guy, and he clearly understands and articulates conservative principles well. He writes great short columns, but if he writes anything longer than a 750-1000 words his inner arrogance and ivory tower disdain shines through. (I'm sure his rebuttal would be to point to his upbringing in a shotgun shack in Texas, which he mentions in the article, but the ivory tower attitude can be learned, not just bred. Oh yes it can indeed)

Anyhow, if the Progs were given their own country, there's no reason to believe that they would create anything based upon natural rights and liberty. In fact, there's every reason to believe that they wouldn't cherish those values at all. Why Are Millennials Wary of Freedom? I would bet every cent I've got that they would come up with another Venezuela. At least they'd probably live in harmony with Mother Gaia, right?

Bah, enough of that crap, lets have some fun.

THIS IS COOL

Chevy Vega and the Vert-A-Pac Rail System in the 1970s

When Chevrolet started designing ‘Vega’ during the 1970s, one of the main objectives was to keep the cost of the car down around $2,000 in circa-1970 dollars. At the time, the freight charge for moving a loaded railroad car from the Lordstown assembly plant to the Pacific coast - the longest distance that cars produced at Lordstown would need to travel - was around $4,800. Since the Vega was a subcompact, it was possible to squeeze three more cars on a railroad car for a total of eighteen, instead of the usual fifteen. But that still worked out to around $300 per car – a substantial surcharge for a $2000 car. If only Chevrolet could get more Vegas on a railroad car, the cost per unit of hauling them would go down.

The engineers at GM and the Southern Pacific Railroad came up with a clever solution. Instead of loading the cars horizontally, the Vegas will be placed vertically on a specially designed auto-rack – the Vert-A-Pac. Within the same volume of an 89-foot car, the Vert-A-Pac could hold as many as 30 automobiles instead of 18.

That's damn clever. Now it was in service of the Vega, which was anything but, but still, pretty smart.

I LOVE THIS GUY

Say what you want about his talent, but imagine where the NFL would be now if they had encouraged players like Tim Tebow instead of the current crop of SJW wannabes. One of the marks of a great person is if they are comfortable mocking themself.

Related: Is this heaven? No, it's a Waffle House

Something else I love is Waffle House. Not for the food, although that isn't bad, and they have hash browns NAILED, but for what it is. Waffle House is a glimpse at corporate America as it should be.

NHS FOLLIES

Oh, I just can't fucking WAIT for single payer health care. How's that working out for you UK?

NHS waiting times: hospital bosses fear 'a return to 1999'

If I live to be a million, I'll never understand the inability of people to comprehend that government does NOTHING efficiently. I guess they are blinded by the siren song of “fair” (which isn't true either, single payer systems always lead to a two tiered health care system, but whatever). Still, the one complaint that is surely nothing more than a right wing scare tactic is that government will use its control of healthcare to control the people, right? Right?

NHS provokes fury with indefinite surgery ban for smokers and obese

Well, wonderful. Lets peek at the future:

QUOTE OF THE DAY

I know what men want. Men want to be really, really close to someone who will leave them alone. -Elayne Boozler

I love my wife and there is literally no one on the planet that I would rather spend time with, but Elayne has a point. Indeed, it's one of the reasons I'd rather spend time with Gingy. We both get this.

Penetrating report. This is what happens when your bluetooth bill gets in a-rear-s. I'm sure they'll plug the leak soon, but until then, how many people will have a stroke when they find out they're getting the shaft. This can't be good in the end.

32 I have several Vega stories, but this is my favorite. Clay Matthews, Jr. drafted by the Browns 1978. He drove to training camp in a Vega. Legend has it when he left the Browns 1993 he drove away in the same Vega.

This man should be in the Hall Of Fame. He played for 19 seasons, was an every down player and has 1,561 tackles, for 3rd all time in the NFL, more tackles than Junior Seau, a fellow Trojan and HOFer. His career places him in the top 20 longest NFL careers {278 games}.

Nope.

It's death by a thousand cuts.

They expect when they've destroyed the enemy, a utopia will magically sprout into existence, with any and all previous conflict disappearing because it was all due to the now defeated enemy. That this won't work doesn't matter; that they think it will does.

Also, this way there doesn't have to be any central planner or even coordination. There is not Final Boss; there is no organized conspiracy. It is a Stand Alone Complex where everyone does their own thing, but towards the same goal while learning from each other and adjusting accordingly.

That is why it is so dangerous.

Actually, it was a special version that Chevy cooked up, using a Cosworth designed head. Yeah, it was hotter than the plain-jane version, but the car, in toto, was a POS. Too bad.

Pontiac had the good sense to put the Iron Duke engine in their version (Astra), so the engines outlasted the car.

152 I suspect the Vertical Vegas were shipped thus, sans fluids such as engine oil, ATF or gear lube in the four-speeds.

Conventional automobiles were not then, and generally are not now, constructed so as to contain vehicular fluids at such angles.

How much you wanna bet that some misbegotten "dealer-prep" crew out there forgot to add oil to the crank or fluid to the tranny, before schlepping the damn thing off on some poor, unsuspecting customer?

Pity the Vega all of it's star-crossed problems. It was actually a fairly attractive, well balanced, decent driving car when ordered with the 4 spd. manual. And the Cosworth powered version was a gem.

A fair design, killed by outright lack of attention to details. This IS the story of GM, and not of obummer.

That one was a clear design fail from inception.

I agree with you about the car. Had quality materials and build control been implemented, not a bad car. There is the issue of the aluminum block, but they could have overcome that.

GM has had a history of getting that >< close to a good thing, then dropping it. The last year models of both the Corvair and Fiero were hugely improved over the early models, not even the same car really. They should have stayed with them.

Hope he made a vid.

Even funnier, making a vid where you get the priceless expression on someone's face when they realize their sex toy ias being hijacked in the middle of the session.

202 Greetings, fappers and fappees. Just got home from my gig. We played well with a good crowd.

About the Vega: when those things first came out, they had a few of them at the local mall up in Hunstpatch. One had the hood up, I looked in it and the first thought I had was, "You know, there's plenty of room in there for a small block V-8."

And sure enough, there was. The Great Grumpy Jenkins fielded a few of them during the '70's in Pro Stock drag racing.

Good times.

My Dad showed me how the judicious application of a screwdriver to the starter would get it running again.

My favorite thing about the car, though, was the engine compartment. I remember my Dad sitting *inside* the compartment while he worked on the engine. There was so much space there. You could get at just about anything without having to remove 20 different parts.

LYNN, Mass.

The owner of a Massachusetts coffee shop says she's closing her business because of the firestorm created when her daughter, the store's manager, made anti-police comments on Facebook.

The owner of the year-old White Rose Coffeehouse in Lynn tells The Daily Item she is closing "so I can stop being harassed."

Kato Mele tried to make amends after her daughter, Sophie, wrote on her personal Facebook page last weekend that the business would never host a "Coffee with a Cop" event. During the ensuing back-and-forth, she called police bullies and racists.

Mele fired her daughter and wrote police an apology, calling the remarks "distasteful, biased and hateful." She invited officers to the shop Monday for coffee.

Reverse Carma, if you will. FoMoCo (Mercury Div.) imported the German made Capri in the early~mid '70s. A decent, sporty small car, but being German, totally incomprehensible to the Mercury dealer's service techs.

Many of them found various aftermarket, hot-rodded small block V08s stuffed under their respective hoods.

Quite frankly, I can't remember the last time I saw an intact German Capri on the highway.

Later part of the '70s, Mercury slapped the Capri label onto their version of the Pinto. Most of these had the V-6 engine, which was a bit of an improvement over the Pinto's 1600 inline four.

How much of an "improvement" though, was debatable. It had more power, but it really, really, REALLY screwed up the weight distribution and handling.

Those were the days of truly awful American automotive (attempts at) engineering.

Courtesy of:

* new and unforeseen EPA rules.

* backwards thinking & penny pinching management overriding engineering in favor of "design", "marketing" and "accounting" departments.

* your (not so friendly) leg-breakers at the UAW and all of their FU, work stoppage, quality indifferent and communist-wrecker anti-corporate, self-centered short term thinking and slovenly acting selves.

We do now truly live in a Golden Age of Automotive Greatness.

And the left is always trying to lever us out of our cars, and onto trains, trams, busses and mules.

Fuck them, with thoroughly hacked giant barbed butt plugs, set to puree.

When I first went to college in 1966 my father bought a 1966 Olds Cutlass, metallic blue with the same blue interior and a 2 speed automatic. Looked like something a grandma would drive to church. Under the hood was a 330 cu-in V8 with 10 to 1 compression ratio that put out 320 HP.

I loved driving that whenever I was home. It shifted to high at 70 and could bury the speedometer.

300 So here's a question...will American liberals eventually convert to Islam in mass?

Facts to consider:

Almost everyone deeply desires to have a religion, generally one that reflects their moral and social views.

Liberals HATE Christianity. And Judaism. And they don't really like Buddhism (I'm supposed to give up...all my stuff?!?!)

Liberals know nothing about Islam, except Christians don't like it. Therefore, it meshes with their moral views - if Christians don't like it...we do.

Which means that Islam is perfect for them!

Hinduism would probably be a better fit but everything they know about Hinduism they learned in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

345 I bet the woman yelling at the bear wished she had a gun at that moment.

---

I doubt it. She doesn't seem to understand the reality of it. She keeps asking the bear, why are you doing this, as though the bear should be able to understand English. Or asking fate, why are you doing this to me? Why is this happening to me? I've done all the right things. I am a good person. I used bear spray as a warning. Why is it not working the way everyone said it would work?

The longer the clip went on, the more I began to wonder if she was just narrating the video because it didn't seem to me that she could continue to believe the things she was saying while reality wasn't going the way she expected.

I don't know.

Funny story about a drunk girl a few years ago. Some idiot's truck broke down down the road a few years ago. His wife was in there with him, drunk as the proverbial skunk. Shit faced, stumbling, incoherent.

He didn't seem to be and said he was taking her home. I ended up driving them home, a few miles from here. In the process of getting her out of their truck and into mine, she got confused on which of us was which.

She thought I was her husband. Nuzzled my neck and rubbed Mr. Happy. I said, Whoaa there little lady. She didn't even realize it, I don't think.

Bill Whittle does an excellent job of explaining it at the following link. So good that I often use some of his verbiage when I have to explain it. If you're at all curious how the America you grew up in wound up like.....this, you must watch it. Once you understand CT, lots of seemingly baffeling things make perfect sense. 20 minutes long, but may be the best 20 minutes you spend.

392 So, in cleveland, no traffic sensors. You will pull to a stoplight, when they are working, and have dozens of cars behind you, but nothing happens until the timer on the traffic signal times out, whether or not there are any cars moving perpendicular to your direction of travel.

In Colorado they have sensors for the sensors for every traffic signal. They have a new variation I have not come across before. Usually when you are at a four-way intersection, the left turn lanes for the opposing traffic will change simultaneously. When the westbound traffic signal indicates the left lane can turn left, the eastbound signal does the same. Here, in Colorado, that does not always happen. Sometimes only one left turn lane is given permission to go and the straight lanes adjacent to the permitted left lane are also allowed to go. Even weirder, the left turn lane that was held back will be allowed to go right before the end of the east-west cycle.

406 Well, not entirely true about Cleveland not having traffic snesors. Euclid does have a traffic signal preemption system that gives the buses, the right of way for everything.

When you are in a left turn lane, if there is a bus two blocks in front of you or behind you, the system recognizes the bus and skips the left turn in the sequence so the bus is able to travel through the light without stopping. No limit to how many times you can get skipped.

Cleveland blew their traffic sensor wad on the traffic signal preemption system.

411 GM has had a history of getting that >

Posted by: Mike Hammer, etc., etc. at October 20, 2017 10:59 PM (y3sT9)

In the early 60s GM got really creative with their compact car line. Besides the Corvair, there was the Tempest with the transmission in the rear, the turbocharged 215 Olds F-85, and the V6 Buick Special which also shared the aluminum block 215 with Olds and Pontiac. They were good looking cars for compacts compared to the butt-ugly Valiants and Lancers, or the Ramblers, or the Studebaker Lark. More interesting than the plain Falcons which outsold all of them by very large margins.

GM as usual had cooling problems with the 215 due to using coolant that didn't work with aluminum and they scrapped the engine after 1963. British Leyland took a liking to the engine, solved the cooling issues, and produced it as their Rover 3.5 for the next 40 years.

A rare poster on here went by the name "Citation X Driver."

Every single time I saw that, I would think "who would brag about still driving a Citation X-11"?

And every single time, microseconds later, I would realize he meant he flew Cessna Citation bizjet ... sort of my dream job.

Before this Uber story, anyway.

422 A friend of mine's wife used to revel in telling the story of how he got out of bed, and pissed in the closet.

I was on a trip with friends way back in the day. We were staying in a cheap motel, and they had those X shaped stands at the foot of the bed for putting your suitcase on. Anyhow, one dude gets passing out drunk. We toss him in his bed, and in the middle of the night he noisily gets up, stumbles to the foot of his bed, opens his suitcase (like the lid on a toilet), pisses all over his clothes, and falls back into bed.

Oh man, he was PISSED (no pun intended) at us the next day for the "joke" we had all played on him by pissing on in his suitcase. "IT'S NOT FUCKING FUNNY YOU ASSHOLES! FUCK YOU! YOU ALL SUCK!"

We were laughing so hard that it really took rather longer than it should have to convince him what happened.

I have a drunk guy peeing story. Our dentist friend likes to drink. The guys went on a golf trip to visit the dentists brother in Myrtle Beach. The dentist was so drunk leaving the course he walked down the stairs peeing his pants and the guys left him passed out on the living room floor of his brothers living room floor that had white carpet. The dentist also had a big chew in his mouth that was all over the carpet.
The dentist's brother ended up getting divorced and the guys blame the dentist for getting chew and urine on the wife's white carpet.

At one post, I was living in WWII era wooden two story barracks. Those had a narrow stair to the upper level. One night myself a couple of other guys went out and got drunk at some dive.

When we got back, one guy had passed out, so we set out to carry him up the stairs to his bunk. Sadly, we were pretty far gone, and we dropped him. He tumbled down the stairs. We went down and finally got him hauled up the steps and stowed away.

The next morning, he was in serious pain. Not injured, but pretty beaten up. We told him that he fell off of a barstool.

You get no argument from Al Bundy

Posted by: yankeefifth at October 21, 2017 12:29 AM (vuY5x)

441 They've got these sensors where they can detect an ambulance or emergency vehicle (or police car which is important later in this story) and switch the traffic light to red so that it's safer for the emergency vehicle to pass through that intersection.

Now see how that tech made to help is used in ways to NOT help.

I'm driving home from my job on a New Year's eve one year.

Get to this light. It's out in the middle of the country side but during the day it's a major intersection for traffic. Night time: dead as a door nail.

You can see anyone coming from any direction (which is rare for most intersections) for miles. Actual MILES.

So I'm coming up on it and it's green. At night this light is a triggered light. Traffic will trigger it to go red for any cross traffic. No cross traffic coming so I shouldn't get a red, right?

Wrong. Goes red just as I get to it. NO TRAFFIC to trigger this light.

It's a long light when it goes. So I'm tired and want to get home so I run the sucker.

Boom State Trooper pulls out of parking lot from behind some obstruction or other. Stops me. Probably mostly a drunk check but still. I KNEW she (woman trooper) triggered that light just to see if I'd run it.

And that's what happens to anything the police get their hands on. If it can be used to up their arrest stats, they will use it. They justify this by saying they're stopping crime. But are they really or are they causing crime and then stopping it to up their stats?

I hate the Staties for this little act now. No respect for them anymore.

494 Meh. When I lived in Queens *spit* and owned a car, I often thought, why can't they have mechanical thingies that would extend out into the street, tilt your car vertical, and retract back to the curb, in order to get more parking space. It's not ingenious. It's pretty obvious.

When I used to drive with a company car and had a company cell phone, the phone would periodically "loose the battery" for a bit while I was driving through hilly areas.

I figured that if I needed to mask where I was it would be easier to plead "coverage hole" for dropping out of sight if it happened periodically instead of just that once.

Never needed it, but you know, it might have been necessary.

555 LOL at 'aluminum engine.'

"Hi, welcome to Joe's Garage. What brings you in today?"

"My engine melted."

Posted by: qdpsteve at October 20, 2017 10:58 PM (eMKNe)

Nothing wrong with aluminum engines. Many cars have them. VW Beetles, famous for their durability, had magnesium engine blocks.

Vegas, had Nikasil engine blocks, an "alloy" of aluminum and silicon. The block was cast, cylinders bored, and then chemically etched to leave a meshwork of felted silicon crystals, that were very hard, as the cylinder liner. Such engines can be very durable, indeed, but they absolutely cannot be allowed to overheat. So the GM brain trust equipped those Vegas with a teeny-tiny radiator that would be undersized as a heater core for a Yugo. Result: they overheated in droves, the aluminum in the cylinder area became soft, and silicon feltwork tore out, destroying the engine.

Now some shops were able to repair those engines by boring them way oversize, and then pressing in cast iron sleeves, to bring the cylinders back to standard size. Properly repaire, those engines lasted until the car rusted away beneath them.

I think women have it a bit easier as opportunities come at them all day. (usually. You'll probably now tell me why I'm wrong and that's okay)

Whereas men have to make the opportunity.

It's just biological. Men pursue and and women decline or accept.

Women usually recover from break ups faster than men (in certain ways. Because they're different those ways aren't the same.)

At least that's been my observation.

605 Just finished watching The Pine Tar Incident: The Making of 'Tar Wars' on FS1.

It's a mockumentary of a fake film based on an actual book about a real-life incident: the Royals/Yankees '83 game when George Brett's 9th inning homer was ruled Not A Homer, due to Billy Martin showing the umps how much pine tar GB had on his bat. This resulted in, IMO, the greatest tantrum in sports history, as Brett exploded from the dugout & ran straight for the umpires.

Highly recommended. The true story behind the 25-day delay in finishing the game is a jaw-dropper. And hilarious.

Why 60 is the new 50 or something. Take my cousin. Old bachelor. 50s. He met a Canadian gal somehow, in her 50s.

They got married back in 2005ish. Still happy as larks. They were like teenagers, and still are, I think.

And if that's not enough. There's some recent locally. Poor fellow wife's died. He's in his 70s. He met another widow and they got married just a few months ago. She was in her 60s.

And why wait til they beat down your door? Beat down some doors your own self.

Posted by: Miley, the Duchess at October 21, 2017 02:14 AM (bjlHK)

632 And also Miley.

As you have gotten older, the men have too and thus they're not so critical.

Now if you've got your heart set on someone under 50 then that might be problematical unless you're a sugar mama.

The guys at that age know they're selling a commodity that's in short supply as the ones who are looking for them are many and the supply of unmarried 40 yos who are good looking and willing to hookup in age are fewer.

I've seen some very youthful looking women and although I'm looking through 70 yo eyes, I can see attractiveness and someone who's taken care of themselves.

So there's a bit of competition. Depends on whether you think it's worth the effort.

I always thought it was too much bother. (after my 40's) now suddenly I find that I'm missing that and wish I had pursued it with more vigor when I was younger.

Good luck and have fun whatever you do.

Revelation (IMHO) is the story of a guy that somehow got thrust about 2000 years into the future and came back to describe what he saw the best he could.

This is also why the idea of death doesn't bother me. I'm firmly convinced that our time will not end with our death and that we'll see our loved ones again when we cross over. I'm weird that way.

643 487 Tebow, like him or not, is in the same boat as Kaepernick.

He can't play NFL Football well enough to justify a team signing him. If he could, he'd be on a roster.

Kaepernick had more time to prove he wasn't ready for the big time than Tebow had. I would have given him three years. Many other screwup QBs have had more time than that to prove they sucked.

I got a Chevy Monza one time; think it was a '75. It had the 262 V8 and factory 4-speed. Monza was built on the Vega platform. Dumb kid who had it had been out in a gravel pit, jumping the car, and made a hard landing, and the engine commenced knocking. He thought it had thrown a rod, so I gave him a hundred dollars for it.

I took the oil pan off, and hammered the dents out of it; the knocking was the crank counterweight hitting a dent. The K-frame under the engine was spread, but by pulling it with a hydraulic ram, I was able to get it to just accept a good alignment. Painted it bright red, with a wide black racing stripe. It was a fast car, but a cop magnet, and got me several tickets. I traded it off for a Dodge Omni, plus cash, so I did OK on it.

675 Oh, it's not theoretical, it's quite real. It's just unable to be (here where I give the knowing wink, right? I'm out of practice)...consummated.

What attracts me to women is that I LIKE them. I once had a fling with a woman who was BIG. I mean big, something like 400 + lbs. I never asked ( upside: her boobs were about half her body weight (hyperbole). She told me her cup size once, I forget what it was, but I think it was in an alphabet with many more than 26 letters). It didn't work out, but I just loved her to death, she was sweeter than sugar cane.

I like you. If things weren't what they are, I'd be on your doorstep with a bouquet of roses, slicked back hair, and a hopeful expression on my face in a heartbeat.

But, alas, I met my Queen before I met the Duchess.

Hmmm. Maybe the jack rabbit starts had something to with the cracked (insert technology here)?

Not criticizing or nothing.

I had a 61 chevy coupe white with red interior. Someone shoehorned a 348 truck engine in it with transmission but the linkages didn't fit so it shifted backwards from the correct pattern. Lots of fun learning to drive it without uprevving the engine to shriek speed.

Loved that car. Ran it into a raised center divider trying to keep from getting run over. This too was in Cali. Out there at the time some center dividers were painted and some had actual curbs. At night it could be hard to tell which was which. oops! Totaled the undercarriage. wrecked the front axles scraped the trans and generally turned it into a scrap box. Traded it to a guy for an old oil leaking Triumph chopper. That didnt' last long either.

See now THAT'S fun. Screwing up and getting ripped off and driving your car off the road. Wheee!

it's difficult to be patient when you want to make up for lost time.

And it's hard on the pocket book.

One good thing came out of my zombiefication and subsequent escape; I called an old GF (from 30 years ago!!! She's married now) found we still had a connection only now friendship. And I really needed a friend as I was freaking out.

Lots of tears and laughs and help me get back to me again. Reminded me of who I was and my roots. (or some such shit)

Text or call her still. She's my biggest fan now. And I needed the ego boost. She says I did the same for her.

Too far away for a meet up though. And the hubbie might not approve anyway.

Watch that stuff! That's part of what zombiefied me!

Do not take any more than you absolutely have to for actual pain. Not aches, not strains but actual PAIN!!!

Trust me on this. Oh and stop as soon as you don't need it if the pain goes away and is not chronic. Even then try to tough it out.

That stuff will start causing personality changes. Probably any painkiller will but Tramadol is insidiouS in that you DON'T NOTICE IT HAPPENING!

Forget what the Drs say and take some Naproxen. Unless you have liver disease. then no.

It's true.

I wrote a fantasy story last summer, about an alternate parallel reality, where we return to 1974 (we met in college). And we knew each other and what we had. It was so much fun to write, being 40 years wiser than our classmates (and 20 years wiser than our parents). Made life soooooo much easier.

The point of the adventure was to reconnect with his faith and help me move on without him when it was over. But even after over 150K words, I realized I could never willingly give him up. The more I had, the more I wanted.

I used to talk to him out loud. I'd been out to dinner with his parents and heard a story about his horrible ex-wife, and mentioned it. The pen on his whiteboard flipped into the air onto the floor and the cat started to play with it. I'd never witnessed anything like that and said, "You're here!"
He poured his joy into me, and let me know that we'd shared a life before, and would again. So I know he's fine.
But the loneliness without him is difficult. He was the best buddy and lover and companion.

725 Yes, he was my first love in college, and we split after I graduated. Actually, I told him to fuck off.

He found me on Classmates 25 years later, but he was still married and his youngest was too young to think about divorce. So we corresponded as friends and I went on to date the dentist in Tampa for a few years.

When Tim heard I'd broken up with Dentist, he made his move.

As you say, you want to make up for lost time.

That's similar to the connection my ex-GF and I share only she's still alive but married and so off limits.

Knew each other years ago and made a connection. then circumstances broke us apart. Now She and I are still connected but no chance of closeness. She says I have to stay away as she doesn't trust herself. And I wouldn't cause it would tear her apart. Very difficult but we're getting better at being in contact without pain from the separation.

There is no advice anyone can really give to anyone in situations like yours except to do the best you can to live your life to the fullest as the person you love would most likely wish you to do.

Maybe a visit to a medium might be in order. Go amateur as pros are iffy due to them taking money for their gift.

I'd do a Tarot reading for you but it doesn't work well long distance.

Find some solace somewhere and be careful of going nutso from the stress. Another Old GF told me once to keep busy and don't think about stuff you can't do anything about.

The time may come when you can and you should prepare yourself to do so. In the meantime know that you are loved and watched over. The Dead do live on.

Why are you coming to PA?

I have to get out of NoVA. It's too fucking expensive to live here, and my business here is done. They say you shouldn't make big changes after losing a spouse, not until you've got your bearings back. I really wanted to flee, but I knew if I did that, I'd lose the connection with his family. I clung to that. His mother has been fantastic. She'll be 89 in a few months.

I thought of Pensacola, but can't swing that kind of move right now. A few days ago one of my brothers made this offer to me. My lease is up at the beginning of May, and I really don't want to renew it. So I now have a place to go.

Part of this is another brother who is battling cancer, and he's been living with my mom, who is 83. It just feels like being out of driving distance would be a bad idea.

We'll see what happens over the winter, but PA looks like the plan.

everyone has a burden to bear. Some you can see others are hidden so deep.

But know that care and concern is available.

Do what I'm doing. I'm having fun just looking at all the women who have been brave enough to put their pictures out there for others to judge hoping for some connection to take the place of one they've lost. I'm sure you enjoy looking and good looking men.

Find your pleasures where you may. My fortune keeps coming up that I need to be patient.

So it's a good thing I learned patience the last 15 years. or I'd be bouncing off the walls by now.

I never understood how people could be numbed to life. But that's where I was at. It's terrible and now I have to try and recover somewhat of something of a life before I croak.

So that's what I'm going to do.

Always tell anyone who asks about Tim. It won't bother those who care and it will fend off the egotists and jerks better than a roach spray.
