Two troubling stories though. One, the walls of the festival, built to keep people from sneaking in, made it a prison when people were trying to dash out. Hopefully that is looked at and modified for future outdoor events, better exits planned.
The other is that the emergency rescue vehicles refused to come to ground zero of the attack, you had to drag or carry victims to a zone of safety before they could be loaded into ambulances. So it's possible people died that might have otherwise lived. At the same time, it was utter chaos, and they needed to keep the rescue people safe too. Probably the right call to make for the logistics of the area. I'm sure that will be looked at.
But those are two minor quibbles. The first responders, off duty military and police, and regular joe civilians that stepped up to help others, all the good they did...no words. So utterly, profoundly proud of them.

I think all if us would offer our vehicles without hesitation in the circumstances, and it seems like the owner was there or nearby so he or she probably understands fully the circumstances.
It's a small thing to deal with in the aftermath compared to so many but could be a financial hardship depending in their circumstances.

Bump stocks allow you to pull the trigger, the recoil pushes the gun backwards and breaks your fingers hold on the trigger. The stock has a spring that was compressed by the recoil of the gun. The spring then uncompresses pushes the gun forward, and your finger again "pulls" the trigger and the next round is fired. --- Repeating the process.
Bang, bang, bang, bang.
Makes it hard to aim, but it is a fun way to shoot lots of expensive ammo.

The other is that the emergency rescue vehicles refused to come to ground zero of the attack, you had to drag or carry victims to a zone of safety before they could be loaded into ambulances. So it's possible people died that might have otherwise lived. At the same time, it was utter chaos, and they needed to keep the rescue people safe too. Probably the right call to make for the logistics of the area. I'm sure that will be looked at.
But those are two minor quibbles. The first responders, off duty military and police, and regular joe civilians that stepped up to help others, all the good they did...no words. So utterly, profoundly proud of them.

Any place that has controlled entrances and exits has this problem, like theaters.
As for where emergency vehicles would go, the question is when they arrived. Supposedly the shooting lasted for 72 minutes. Any vehicle arriving during that time would be a perfect target. Having said that, moving wounded, especially under such conditions, is extremely difficult.

I think the left saw how quickly they were able to turn Charlottesville's "take down all confederate momuments" rhetoric into action, a "victory" for them. They small blood here, a chance to do the same and take down the gun industry. Sick but efficient of them.
Not gonna happen the same way though. They "won" last time by pushing and overwhelming the narrative so fast, and manipulating guilt so strongly, they could strongarm change. That wont work here. First, congressional gears on changing the second amendment creak slowly. Second, gun owners don't feel guilt for the shooting, nor should they. A madman got illegal firearms, that has no bearing on a legal gun owner, for sport or for safety, just living their life in a lawful way.
I don't think this convo will turn out how the left envisions it. I pray not. The idea of a future with no access to guns and the left in charge terrifies me.

According to their super secret LE source who supposedly provided them with the photo(against department rules, I would imagine) it was outfitted with a bump stock.
When I hear it from the LV police department itself, I will believe it.
Also, if my facebook feed receives one more nasty post about how this is the NRA's fault and how horrible it is that the shooter has a right to a gun, but the 500 injured don't have a right to health care to save their lives, I'm going to start sending this shit back with nastygrams to the senders.

I watched his first show & stuck with it. He was indeed a person who wasn't all that political and took shots at both sides. Good friends with Adam Corolla then too.
When I noticed the huge shift was when he became friends with Howard Stern. He went from Jay Leno's friend to hating him during the Conan/Leno debacle.
But even after that was over, he went from kind of a humble guy to a mean-spirited one. In my head I peg it around the time he began his Howard Stern vacays.
Something else I found interesting was when his neighbors Emily Blunt & John ? moved. I have a very strong sneaking suspicion that it was partly due to the changes in Kimmel. Not that they aren't still friends, but as a neighbor he got to be a little much. That's another story for another time.
Haven't watched Kimmel in years. He got too crazy for me. Too mean really.

Yeppers. As I posted up thread, follow the money. I have seen on FB that he took 10 suitcases into his suit. Even if he picked them up at garage sales, that's a cost. I would think they were probably nicer than garage sale luggage, after all, he was a known high roller, so 10 ragtag dirty cases might've raised some eyebrows. One has a bipod and it is unclear if it has a bump stock - I think, no, but it could, but if it does, it is a different one than on the one I mentioned above.

Well, if the gun equiped with a bumpfire stock was an AR10 type .308 I'm suprised he hit anything, especially if shooting offhand. Probably hurt more people with ricochets than with direct hits in that case.
