Sham: Transcripts Reveal Comey Decided He Was Going to Let Hillary Skate Long Before Investigation Was Over

Rigged investigation. Pretty much the entire spectacle of American "democracy" is a stage-managed, scripted reality TV show for the rubes.

According to new transcripts released by the Senate Judiciary Thursday afternoon, former FBI Director James Comey made the decision not to refer then Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for prosecution long before ever interviewing key witnesses. Members of the Committee allege Comey made the decision months before FBI agents were finished with the criminal investigation of her mishandling classified information during her time as Secretary of State.

The transcripts were revealed in a letter sent to current FBI Director Christopher Wray, in which lawmakers are demanding an explanation and more documents surrounding the case.

"According to the unredacted portions of the transcripts, it appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton. That was long before FBI agents finished their work. Mr. Comey even circulated an early draft statement to select members of senior FBI leadership. The outcome of an investigation should not be prejudged while FBI agents are still hard at work trying to gather the facts," the letter, signed by Chairman Chuck Grassley and Committee member Lindsey Graham states.

"Conclusion first, fact-gathering second--that's no way to run an investigation. The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy."

This is partly why they're so insanely angry -- they put the fix in and pulled out all the stops, but it didn't work.

They're terrified that they're losing power and may one day even be held to account for what they've done.

34 There are actually three scandals here.

The absurd lawlessness of not charging Hillary and many others for violations of the Espionage and Public Records acts - and publicly announcing this in a way that violated all accepted norms of FBI procedure AND completely misstated the relevant statute.

The process scandal noted here - conclusions before investigation.

The failure of any - any - FBI or other involved personnel to go public as whistle-blowers, or resign, or otherwise confirm what all intelligent outside observers knew to be a lawless farce.

"They" (deep state, FBI heads rosenstein/mueller especially) have some major felonies/treason/sedition .... whatever, to coverup, which is why Mueller hires all the Dem 'mob lawyers". Deep State seems to be still in charge, unless a few brave men are at work behind the scenes.

The senior cabinet member of federal govt. was involved in systematic, histrionic even, violation of the most important criminal statutes in the book, for years, and everyone knows it just from from publicly known facts.

You'd think Sessions would understand the gravity of this situation, and you'd think Trump, though not a govt. guy by background, would get it, too.

149 Gonna dissent on McCarthy beyond his obvious blind spots for federal prosecutors he knows.

Terrorism/jihadism, he's great on those and had done his homework, and is clearly a fire-breathing true-believing warrior.

SCOTUS degradation. While constitutional issues and most SCOTUS issues are quite simple, and there is a ridiculous unfounded air of gravitas and complexity around most of them, McCarthy has been appropriate vicious in pointing out the lawlessness.

After, I think, the second O-care atrocity, in which Roberts figured he'd top his own previous performance by turning statutory construction on its head, McCarthy had a great line about the lawless statist 4 "justices" - "they're there to vote, not judge." Perfectly captures the judicary's conversion into an unaccountable super-legislture for dummies.

176 The central problem is that we've created a scenario where only the feds can investigate or prosecute the feds. It should then come as no shock that these means in practice the role of the *Federal* Bureau of Investigation is to protect the feds.

I think there is a solution to this, however.

Move the appointment of the head of the FBI, or at least the branch of the FBI that investigation crimes by the federal government, to the states.

Every two years the states vote to keep or replace the head of FBI. Each state's governor gets one vote. If there are 26 votes for removal, each state can nominate a new head. If the first round doesn't net 26+ votes for one candidate, there is a run off of the top two.

By making the head of the FBI answer to the States, he will not be incentivized to advance the interests of the federal government, but instead the majority of the states.

Of course this would require a Constitutional Amendment...but blue states might vote for it when there is a Republican president...

The arrogance - and poor judgement - of these people, of course, led them right into this.

In that latter assessment, they have yet to be proven wrong. That's what we're talking about here - action that will disprove that key implicit assumption.

250 Q. Why is TRUMP's Department of Justice redacting all the juicy stuff?
____________________

It's not really Trump's DOJ. It's staffed with a bunch of Obama's leftist loons, and they're being allowed to continue with business as usual.

PJ Media has a story up right now about how DOJ "civil rights" lawyers have subpoenaed a bunch of Christian pastors in Culpeper, Virginia. The DOJ is demanding that the pastors testify about their views of Islam, and also provide the DOJ with any documents they have which mention Islam.

These pastors are not a party to any lawsuit, they are merely residents of a community where the local zoning board denied some muslims special permission to collect and haul sewage off a site.

The muslims wanted to build a mosque on the site, but it didn't have city sewers and it wasn't suitable for a septic system. The muslims wanted permission to haul the sewage off in tanker trucks, but the zoning board said no. The DOJ swooped in and accused the zoning board of religious discrimination. The claim against the zoning board was settled, but the DOJ is still trying to prove that the local community is anti-muslim, and hence the subpoenas against the local Christian pastors -- none of whom were parties to the zoning board suit.

This is the kind of abusive leftist bullshit that Sessions should have shut down on Day One.

251 RoyalOil repeats something I said earlier (well, referred to, with less color).

It is astonishing, in a bad way, that this whole obviously farcical non-investigation was not ripped apart from the earliest stages by whistleblowers.

But remember, just a few years before, vital highly classified intel collection programs (some of them wildly popular with allies and others on the same side of an ongoing hot war) were disclosed, without the slightest repercussion for the criminals who did it.

That's why those who have been paying attention, and were involved enough in some cases to see it first hand, talk about "rot".

Oatmeal, dried cherry, macadamia nut and white chocolate chip cookies are my personal favorite, but I also like rugelach-with apricot jam and finely diced walnuts.

And pistachio baklava, which isn't a cookie, but is very, very good.

Oh, and soft molasses cookies.

(Thumbs through stacks of cookie cookbooks, thinking of things to bake...)

The appointment of special counsel Mueller was contrary to the governing statute, and obviously completely uncalled for. There was nothing to investigate. That "nothing" had ALREADY been investigated - by the appropriate agencies, as a COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE matter, not a criminal matter.

Rosenstein is an idiot if he actually believes there was a "public interest" in appointing a special counsel.

Surprisingly, there have been no long-format interviews by left-leaning news outfits. Dennis asked specifically about NPR.

If you have your own cherry tomatoes, or can get good ones - roast 'em in olive oil/balsamic vinegar, with some pepper and red pepper flakes (hot) tossed in, for 45 min., then add to short pasta (farfalle, etc) with sliced kalamata olives, capers, and feta (crumbled). Nothing but wait for the Republicans to come into their drum circle and start smoking dope.

The GOPe, should it gain seats, will wholly a) misunderstand the mandate the voters have given them, and b) exploit the mandate the voters have given them to c) make government bigger, more controlling, more expensive, and more abusive. IOW Republicans will further the Progressive, globalist, CoC agenda just as it has all along. But faster.

I think there are State-level legislators who are still worth something because they are answerable to their constituency. There isn't that overarching national apparatus to acutely reward/punish members since their obligations are much more local, relatively.

But at the Federal Level? If one percent are honest, fair, and ethical, I'd be surprised. It's one, giant, disease-infected tick sucking the lifeblood of the nation and spreading its corruption, abuse, incompetence, hypocrisy, and theft. That's the best I can say about it.

I haven't a clue. A lot more than inhabit the Federal government and all its tentacles, but probably a small enough number to be dangerous.

"I am pissed that the people sworn to protect us can't even police themselves."

I'm right there with you. I have more respect for the mob. Not kidding. The mob cannot hurt you as bad as weaponized, authoritative government. And the "can't" above should probably be "won't". They won't police themselves which is the Big Red Flag waving to everyone, "You really don't understand exactly how screwed you are!" How ever it is that decent people enter the institutions and become active, willing participants in its corruption is a real stain. Self-interest trumps everything they do which is a bit of an indictment on human behavior. Employees are incentivized to punish their friends, family, neighbors, and strangers if an action might even tangentially affect their position. I don't think there's a solution.
