Oregon Will Soon Become First State to Mandate That All Taxpayers Pay for All Abortions, No Matter How Late Term, No Matter What the Motive

#ButRussia, the NeverTrumpers, full of principle and devotion to "conservative policy," whimpered.

Last week, lawmakers passed a bill that would require insurers to pay 100% of all abortion-on-demand costs no matter how late-term they may be, and regardless of motive. It would also require insurers to pay $10 million into a fund for public funding of abortions in what is clearly a gift to Planned Parenthood...

Governor Kate Brown, who previously worked as a lobbyist for the abortion industry, cheered on these government mandates for abortion at all times for any reason...

117 Lets say you're a person who rejects all meaning, truth, and goodness in life, considering it all subjective and up to the individual. Let us further say that this life leaves you with no hope, no purpose, and no meaning. Because of this, you seek moments that help you forget this emptiness and yawning chasm in your soul, moments of orgasm, intoxication, excitement.

What's a human life when it gets in the way of that? Especially since you can just redefine humanity into nothing so there's not any sense of guilt or wrongdoing. There is no good, there is no evil, there is no truth. There is only what you can grasp and enjoy for the moment and what you have the power to force upon others. Having a baby interferes with that utterly selfish and soulless life.

Of course you cheer getting rid of babies.

Political symbol or mass killer?

Most abortion supporters prefer to use euphemisms and slogans because they know that to graphically name and describe it is repellent. Even most who think it should be legal (with or without limits) understand it is ending a life. So yeah, when someone finds out you're the one who makes a living ending lives...they're gonna flinch.

126 I often wonder what exactly the interplay between God's calling, His saving will, and human self-determination is. Where the balance lies.

How much of a person's decision to choose God's way is of the human's own thinking? Romans 9 often makes people wonder about this topic.

I bring it up now and then, but I passionately recommend Thomas Talbott's book, The Inescapable Love of God, to any who are interested in such a topic. It is a book primarily about Christian universalism, not to be confused with liberal universalism which thinks that there's more than one road to God - there is not, 'tis Christ alone - but the book delves deeply and offers poignant thoughts on the nature of human freedom and God's will.

Them: It's a clump of cells.

You: This law allows abortion up to the moment of birth. That's not a clump of cells, that's a baby.

Them: How dare you force a woman to carry an unwanted fetus to term? Are women just brood mares to you?

You: It's their choice to have unprotected sex. Once the egg implants, science dictates that's a new and unique human life and must therefore be protected.

Them: But not all protection is 100% reliable.

You: Then use two forms of protection, the chance of procreation in that case is vanishingly small.

Them: Fuck you.

Me: Fuck you and your baby heart eating mother.

Go back to Kennedy and Bork.

It's abortion above any issue that has divided us.

It was also jaw dropping how the overwhelming number of people at the County/State seminar I attended were interested in Foster Parents Only, and they were nearly all underclass people wanting that Paid Babysitting Money State Stipend

Look at how blasé Christians have become about pre-marital sex, cohabitation, unmarried parents, etc.; e.g. maybe it's not for them, but they can't possibly say or do anything that might be seen as judgmental.

This may well be true - but the book is still quite good.

Speaking personally, I feel he worries about human freedom of will too much, but he's quote right in quoting George Macdonald in saying,

"Let no one persuade you that there is in Him a little darkness, because of something he has said which His creature interprets into darkness. .. . Neither let your cowardly conscience receive any word as light because another calls it light, while it looks to you dark. Say either the thing is not what it seems, or God never said or did it. But, of all evils, to misinterpret what God does, and then say the thing as interpreted must be right because God does it, is of the devil. Do not try to believe [therefore] anything that affects you as darkness. Even if you mistake and refuse something true thereby, you will do less wrong to Christ by such a refusal than you would by accepting as His what you can see only as darkness."

It is a good thing for us to be skeptical, indeed cynical, about even church leaders and their positions. None can deny the harm done by ostensibly righteous men mishandling and maligning Scripture.

I think it a fine book worthy of addition to a person's library. Whether the man holds other views (a couple I think I could identify, based on some things he said in his writings) that are wrong or unScriptural, well, haven't we all at some point or other?

I'd be grateful to hear any thoughts you might have on the man, actually. I quite enjoyed his book, but I have a couple of points of contention with his ideas (or seeming contention, the ideas in question being mentioned only in passing in the book I referenced.)

They are weak personalities who couldn't handle the normal guilt mechanism used by individualistic societies. Their imaginations run amok and generate guilt out of nowhere - like children who see a horror movie and can't stop their imaginations from scaring the shit out of them for months afterwards. Leftists place blame for their overwhelming, illusory guilt on their fathers, primarily, and develop intense hatred them. They want to destroy their fathers and everything that reminds them of their fathers ... which includes pretty much everything they are familiar with. This makes them develop into twisted, self-hating, nihilistic ghouls who dream of seeing their fathers, their families, and their whole society burned to the ground.

This is what becomes of weak personalities in individualistic societies. But, you have to take the bad with the good and that is just the price we pay for the power and advantage of an individualistic society.

We used to keep these mental defectives in check because none of their idiotic and suicidal ideas were taken seriously ... but then good people decided that they had to be nice to these lunatics and act as if they weren't the societal cancer that they obviously are, so we started letting them express their insane views without smacking them down and saying what utter lunacy and bullshit they were spewing. People who used to be laughed off of the public stage have been allowed to stay there and even patronized by people who didn't want them to feel bad about themselves. But feeling bad is what the Western left is all about.

Per Guttmacher, rape and incest excuses are something like 2.5% of all abortions, so it's probably closer to 1% in when the modern reality of fart-rape mentality is taken into account.

It's interesting to note the (D) mirror image of abortion and guns, though.

1% of abortions involve rape and incest, so ALL abortions must be legal.

1% of all guns (far fewer I know, but go with it for the discussion) are involved in crime, so ALL guns must be illegal.

284 To all those who have actively procured abortion, either for herself or for others, or paid for same, the penalty is the same. Even if you don't believe in God or the afterlife, you will pay for it here on earth during your life. Having murdered, you will live with the consequences.

Science and medical studies indicate that the results of abortion are drastically lowered self-esteem, to the point of depression, greatly higher incidence of breast cancer and cancer of the cervix, and an inability to maintain meaningful relationships. I heard another dishonest statement on the tv news about how black women have a much higher incidence of breast cancer, but they did not state that black women have a much higher incidence of abortion as well. Funny how that works together, huh?

Abortion does more than murder a baby, which is horrid enough. The evil it spreads goes a long way to demonstrating just from whence it came. Ending this scourge in America is as pressing as ending slavery was in the 19th century.

The authors of the book Freakonomics posited that legalizing abortions was the cause of the drop in crime starting in the 90's.

States that legalized abortions saw their crime rate fall earlier.

The crime drop in high abortion states is concentrated among the age groups born after Roe v. Wade.. older populations saw no drop.

just sayin'

Personally.. I was born and raised Catholic, but have since decided to let God sort it out.

wonder if the Catholic Diocese out there will sue the state for forcing
this upon its believers."

I would think so. Coincidentally (or not), the Catholic Church in Oregon was at the center of a landmark SCOTUS religious freedom case in 1925 (Pierce vs. Society of Sisters), in which the state had attempted to outlaw all non-public schools and SCOTUS eventually struck that law down.

It won't happen. What WILL happen is an increased callousness towards abortion in particular and killing in general. Look at how blase Christians have become about pre-marital sex, cohabitation, unmarried parents, etc.; e.g. maybe it's not for them, but they can't possibly say or do anything that might be seen as judgmental.

My nephew was flabbergasted when I told him that he was welcome to spend the night at my place: his girlfriend could have the guest room, he my room, and me the sofa. Don't know what the gf thought and don't care.

You CAN adopt, but not a baby. There are lots of kids in the system, who have been abused and have serious health issues, all of whom need a stable family, and the cost is not severe. But, you have to be prepared to take that burden on, and most people looking to make a family are not so prepared.

Most adoptable babies are aborted, hands down.

It is sick and disgusting.

Do NOT let anyone tell you that any children are unwanted. There are plenty of potential adoptive parents waiting, and many end up aging out.

Interesting though, that until Koeppler figured out the arc of the planets, Heleocentrism lost scientific debates because it varied from empiric measurements more than the pre-Copernican model.

385 It's all connected.

Young females get an abortion, which they regret.

Their regret becomes a psychological disorder.

She needs a psychologist, who tells the girl that she has identification issues.

She then enrolls in a college to take womyn's studies to improve her self-esteem.

She is then told men are bad, heterosexual sex is rape and lesbianism is liberating.

She files a lawsuit against all men for discrimination and insensitivity.

Obamacare certainly was designed to do this.
Then you have activist entertainers like Samantha Bee specifically attacking Catholic hospitals over abortion. http://preview.tinyurl.com/z4zjqt9

Young females get an abortion, which they regret.

Their regret becomes a psychological disorder.

She needs a psychologist, who tells the girl that she has identification issues.

She is then told men are bad, heterosexual sex is rape and lesbianism is liberating.

416 So...insurers will simply leave Oregon.

Because if Oregon is like most states, they control insurance premium rates.(In case there are still people on here who believe we had free market health care pre Obamacare(yes Mark Levin, I'm talking to you ...) and when the insurers come to the state insurance czar and tell him/her that they need to raise rates by 400% to cover the cost of free abortions(imagine what planned homicide will start charging insurance companies for their procedure), the state will say no.

And the insurers will leave.

Then Oregon will declare victory over the evil insurers and proudly create a single payer plan for every resident, and illegal .

By the way, didn't the SC say that Catholic schools, Christian workplaces, and other objectors cannot be mandated to pay for abortions or birth control? So the AG of Oregon is now willing to spend more taxpayer money on previously decided cases?

Don't. Write for his competitors under a pseudonym in a slightly different style. Make sure you write for more than one with each a different pseudonym. You have no obligation to tell him provided it is not in a contract you signed with him. Getting caught and sacked is a risk but with diversified client base your blow will be cushioned.

The inconsistency of the left's logic just amazes me.
