Depends. If they're employees of the hospital, they can get sacked for any reason or no reason, depending on the terms of their employment agreement. To get kicked off the medical staff usually takes something pretty serious, and there is generally a specific process including a hearing that has to take place first. Sometimes it's political bullshit, but usually it's things like wrong site/patient surgery, fraud, killing too many patients, repeat malpractice, substance-related impairment and other bad juju.

East New York, where I was born, has been gone since the early 60s and because of it's distance from Manhattan, I do not envision it ever coming back. That said, other former crime infested shit holes like Bushwick and even parts of Bedford-Stuyvesant are being gentrified, so I guess anything is possible. They also keep trying to clean up Coney Island and make it another Disneyland but that will never happen unless and until you demolish the low income housing projects.

Note that this is totally unfalsifiable, to them. Point out that NYC has extremely strict gun control laws; point out that the Bataclan murderers or the would-be train-shooter in Belgium, in theory, really shouldn't have been able to get their hands on automatic weaponry. To them this simply underscores the need for tighter measures.

Low income housing projects were one of the WORST ideas ever. Yes, they were originally envisioned as affordable places for working class, or returning WW2 vets to live until they could buy a home, but they seemed to flourish at the exact same time as an "exodus' of "the poor" from the South.

The fired UPS shooter in CA from a few weeks back waited nearly 3 months to seek 'vengeance'; it's hard to stay on high alert for that long for an unlikely-to-start-with event. He killed his supervisor and a few others.

Except it was privately developed by MetLife and it worked. It was filled with working class families including a lot of cop families. Rents were relatively cheap. But MetLife was merciless at throwing out the families of anyone who fucked up. Waiting lists to get in were crazy long, unless you knew someone.
After WWII, MetLife copied it with Stuyvestant Town on the East Side of Manhattan. Same program. same results.
Folks like Robert Moses thought the government could do this even better, on a bigger scale, and used it as the model for urban redevelopment. Didn't turn out so well.

Preceded by the National Housing Act under FDR. Those two Acts were the impetus for destroying the West End neighborhood in Boston and turning it into a slum. It's been slowly coming back thanks to the medical community moving in but it still sticks out like a sore thumb when you look at the long time neighborhoods that surround it.

"A disgruntled medical worker dressed in black opened fire and shot at least four people in a Bronx hospital Friday afternoon, police said.

Haven't checked the usual places yet, but many of us have been wondering if/when the Forces of Evil (constitutionally minded, normal, firearms-owning citizens who obey the law) will be able to get us onna them there injunctions to block the ammo law, which kicks in after December.
THAT, in my briefly considered opinion, may be the worst gun law yet in CA - in terms of overall impact on firearms ownership and the shooting sports.
The handgun roster, of course, would be right up there - both in terms of impact, and jaw-dropping, guffaw-inducing, brazen, utterly indefensible constitution-shredding.
