That is a good question. I have no idea. Watercolor is my favorite medium, and we have some lovely originals from a Panamanian artist, and a Fort Worth lady who painted in Saudi. She painted a picture of a part of the Dirah Souk where my kids played, and used their blond, blue-eyed wiles to get free stuff from the merchants.

There are several theories. If the figure looking at the painting is the artist, then it could be a way of signing his work. If not the artist, it could be a way of including the viewer in the event. Artists tried to make art as real a s possible. This was a way to make it feel more real, more relateable. Or it could be a wink at the viewer, saying "Ha ha. I'm here and you're not! Athens man arrested again in assault involving pork shop
An Athens man arrested three months ago for allegedly assaulting his mother with a pork chop was arrested again early Wednesday for another incident involving his mother and a pork chop, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The gist of the story is, his 60 y.o. mother once again forgot to buy him cigarettes, so he threw the pork chop at his mother and head-butted her. His dad had to sit on him to restrain him until the police arrived. Oh, he was also charged with probation violation.
The whole incident started at 2:35 a.m. when his mother called the po-po to report he was trying to fight everyone in the home. He told the police someone ate his pork chop and now he had to eat noodles.

Athens man arrested again in assault involving pork shop
An Athens man arrested three months ago for allegedly assaulting his mother with a pork chop was arrested again early Wednesday for another incident involving his mother and a pork chop, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The gist of the story is, his 60 y.o. mother once again forgot to buy him cigarettes, so he threw the pork chop at his mother and head-butted her. His dad had to sit on him to restrain him until the police arrived. Oh, he was also charged with probation violation.
The whole incident started at 2:35 a.m. when his mother called the po-po to report he was trying to fight everyone in the home. He told the police someone ate his pork chop and now he had to eat noodles.
No, the guy isn't some dumbass redneck. How do I put it....

This time the priest blessed the eyes, ears, and hooves of the old nag.
The bookie knew he had a winner and bet every cent he had on the old nag.
He watched dumbfounded as the old nag pulled up lame and couldn't even finish the race.
In a state of shock, he went to the track area where the Priest was standing.

Thanks for this one. Colors and light. I really like the patrons included in the art -- seems so intimate. They all have different opinions and interests, but are all united in adoration. I know it sounds kinda silly, but rather than a remote objectified Mary and Child, they are all a part of a family. So, I like the temporal anomalies and just enjoy.

I had my own experience with the ghey thing in scouting. Some firing range instructor (maybe 21-25 years of age) visited our troops summer campground and got caught j*rking off someone I knew (14-15 year old) in my troop. Said firing range instructor got packed up and escorted away that same night.
That was it for me and scouting. Never looked back, despite having earned a shitload of badges. Was glad when my own son didn't want to get involved.

The stupid - it just burns. The FBI is not, and never has been, an intelligence agency. It is supposed to do some counter-intelligence work, but historically has proven to be completely incompetent to the task.

Ditto. My son became an Eagle Scout about 5 years ago at a troop that is well respected for turning out Eagle Scouts. And trust me, they don't hand them out for showing up and checking the boxes.
I consider my son's Scoutmaster as family. He drove quite a ways to show up at son's graduation from police academy a few months ago. My son participated in scout activities through college and is now an adult leader who is looking forward to being more active when he settles into his job.

CA effectively went bankrupt back around 2009. They could not pay off their bonds when they came due, and when they tried to sell more bonds to pay off the old bonds they had no takers. The all Democrat congress approved something like $500B to buy up their bonds. And Obama continued to buy their bonds even after all that money was gone.
PR went legally bankrupt last week when they defaulted on their debt and can't even pay the interest. The Democrats have been clamoring for a bailout for them as well but so far they can't get it though congress. So in the end all the banks who ought PR bonds will have to eat it.

I don't think the induced current in 12 gage wire is the issue.
It's when a mechanical field collapses around a bunch of very, very fine circuitry, which suddenly sees amperage it was never designed for.

Uncle Redux, until his passing a decade ago or so (God rest his soul) was actually General Counsel for the BS of A for almost 30 years. He was a very moral guy (despite being Harvard educated - sorry Uncle Redux!) and worked tirelessly to preserve the constitutional right of free association that the BS of A enjoyed (meaning, at the time, the right to exclude openly gay scoutmasters) which was antithetical to the Scouts' Christian calling. And, as he used to relate, that right was constantly under assault - and no matter how many cases they won and set precedent, even at the Supreme Court level, "teh gheys" and the ACLU continued to file suit (in bad faith he always said - sicne they knew that the cases had no chance of sucess).
Ahh the good old days.

There was some Dem congressman on Tucker last night that kept screaming that even though he thought Comey should be fired, the timing is "suspect" and to prove it, the WH had just stated that President Trump had listened to the hearing and went to Sessions(who shouldn't be involved in who works for him, because Russia) and told the AG and Dep AG he wanted Comey out. As I understand it the island itself is relatively clean. The inhabitants were allowed to return once but then when more surveys were done they were evacuated again. The problems arise from the ground water and food sources such as crabs who have long term exposure. Nobody ever publishes what the actual level of contamination is though. What the US did to those islanders is obscene.

There were somewhere around 20 to 25 tests. I think most of them were underwater. The actual contamination is from residual fallout.
