Comey Tells Congressional Panel: Classified Emails from Hillary's Server Were Forwarded to Anthony Weiner

So, it appears there was something in that re-opening of the email case.

I guess Comey took the position that given that he was giving Hillary a free pass on transmitting classified information via an unsecure email to unauthorized persons anyway, it didn't matter that her emails were also being sent to compromised, easily-blackmailable Anthony Weiner too.

And yet Hillary Clinton still claims that Comey's late announcement that Huma's emails were being given a look in the wake of Weiner's computer being examined was totally unfair and unwarranted.

Hillary Clinton emails containing classified information were forwarded to former congressman Anthony Weiner, the director of the FBI testified Wednesday as he defended his handling of politically sensitive probes surrounding the last year’s presidential race.

Under questioning from the senior Democrat on the committee, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), James B. Comey revealed more details about how Clinton’s emails ended up on Weiner’s computer.

Weiner, a New York Democrat, was married to a top aide to Clinton, Huma Abedin. Weiner was being investigated separately for possible inappropriate communications with a minor.

"Somehow, her emails were being forwarded to Anthony Weiner, including classified information," Comey said, adding later, "His then-spouse Huma Abedin appears to have had a regular practice of forwarding emails to him for him to print out for her so she could deliver them to the secretary of state."

The two were investigated for possible mishandling of classified material, but the FBI ultimately dropped the matter without seeking charges because they could not show either of them intended to violate the law, Comey said.

Ah -- the old "we have to prove intent to make a case in a law which intentionally has no 'intent' requirement," precisely because you're supposed to know the rules and follow them and signing a statement to that effect is required to get your security clearance in the first place.

Update: Comey's answer as to why he announced he was looking into the emails -- "thousands" of Hillary Clinton's emails found on Weiner's computer.

8 I'm a bit miffed at Legal Watch for not going after this hard enough. You want a good time? Argue that using a private account for work related items turns the private account into a de facto government account that is governed by the same disclosure requirements of a government account. Then let the good times roll as we get to see those yoga routines and wedding plans.

101 I've often said that we are merely going through the motions of still having a Republic and I've also said that it is difficult to put an exact date to such momentous, historic occasions, e.g., what day did Rome fall - was it the Ides of March, was it the Battle of Actium, was it when Augustus was declared Emperor? Opinions differ, But:
I can definitely put a date to the end of the American Republic (in my humble opinion) and that was the 6th of July 2016, the day that Comey (may his name live in infamy) released his finding to Congress on the illegal Clinton e-mail scandal and declared that the FBI would not be proferring charges.
That for me was the day that the rule of law died officially in this great country and we were all instructed that there was a ruling class in America that was immune from the laws and sanctions that applied to all the rest of us peons.
Americans Don't Serf needs to be our battle cry! Either that, or meekly surrender and scramble pathetically for the crumbs that our rulers allow to fall off the table.

Or will she pressed to admit that she set up Flynn in a perjury trap, using classified information given to her by Susan Rice, and then leaked it the press.

Susan Rice will testify later in the week.

As I've noted before, the problem is that, as a practical matter, Hillary is unconvictable. She would be tried in DC or NY. There is zero chance of getting a jury of 12 people in either place that does not include at least one die-hard Democrat who would never, ever vote to convict her, no matter how damning the evidence. That is the reality, grim though it might be. At best, we might get her named as an "unindicted co-conspirator" by a grand jury that goes after Huma, Cheryl Mills, etc.

To be fair-

Obama and the Democrats told you exactly that their new healthcare plan was all about denying care to infants and the aged.

That's what all of those speeches about "bending the health cost curve" and Rainbow O'Death graphs were all about.

Obamacare was always always about denying healthcare to those who aren't actively contributing money (taxes) to the state.

What the liberals don't realize is that the rule of law is there to protect the powerless in society. The powerful will always do fine, but when the rule of man replaces the rule of law, those without power are the victims. Liberals should be the greatest defenders of the rule of law.

1. Mohammed
2. Muhammed
3. Mohamed

See, traditional Londoners...there's no need to worry.

-- forward the classified emails to her sex-crazed pedophile husband so he could print them out illegally on their home printer, but as a side-effect...

What are political instincts? The guy was a designated attack dog in the House. He was rather effective in the role, because he looked the part.

He was young, brash, good looking (from a certain perspective), and he was connected.

He had no reason to believe the paved road was not going to lead eventually to higher office. Maybe the highest.

We know now of his penchant for sending out photos of his junk, but really, he misunderstood social media. That was his crime. Nothing else he was doing was a crime, as far as politics goes.

The difference is that the Chinese have never had any sense of personal rights. People are, basically, fodder. Have always been. That explains the "get what you can" mentality of their business practices, their inability to respect things like copywrites or even safe means of production, and their use of all of the peasant class as a commodity. They have no God, so they have no personal autonomy or sense of personal responsibility.

So, Mao was just gettin' his own.

I guess Clinton fits that description, but Kennedy at least should have felt shame for his actions. He was raised at least nominally Catholic. Now I suspect he is dealing with the barbed cock of Satan, but as a good Catholic, I can't wish that on him....

471 Rush gave an excellent presentation today on healthcare insurance and pre-existing conditions.

Spelled it out so it can be understood.

There is no such thing as healthcare insurance for pre-existing conditions. Insurance is a financial product that looks to future, and pays for incidents that are at risk.

A great majority of Americans now believes that the State should pay your doctor and hospital bills if you are sick, though, and so elected officials cannot be reelected unless they agree.

So what Rush is now saying makes total sense. If a person is in a physical condition or goes into one that means essentially that they will require care for that condition for the rest of their life, however long or short, they should then enter or be entered into a special class.

The class they are then in is one for which medical expenses are paid from a nationally-funded system that is separated out and independent from all the other "normal" insurance pools.

So yeah, it's a tax. It's a tax because we all agree we (because WE are the STATE) should pay for the kid with cancer, or your niece with MS, or whatever.

But since the public is stupid (thanks, Gruber), we'll call it all "insurance," but somehow will separate it out.

So, for all these charges, while today the hospitals and doctors submit bills (unless we are talking Medicaid or Medicare) to insurance companies, under a new program the bills would be submitted to something new, maybe call it We All Love You and Are Paying Your Bills Because Love.

Julia, John Tyler's 20ish second wife, was also a knock-out.

But note that these two great beauties married when their husbands were at the height of their careers.

Most FLOTUSes were married when their husbands were nobodies. Hence the lack of pulchritude you might expect for wives of super-big-shots.
Also, most FLOTUSes are middle-aged by the time they are in the WH. Laura Bush is a lovely woman but was no spring chick.

And then there are a few wives who were chosen only because of political connections. They tend to be borderline ugles.

Nothing so complicated. Simple: If you are denied private coverage for medical insurance due to a pre-existing condition, then you are eligible for Medicare/Medicaid. No new program, no more staff. This way we get around the parasites not buying insurance until they need it.

I read somewhere that only 40K people took advantage of the Obamacare pre-existing condition stuff over the last 5 years, so it shouldn't be a major burden.

With $1,000,000, I could organize an electoral surge to take out the 8-10 least conservative Republican state legislators in a deep red state.

Thoughts?

Expanding MediCaid is the worst thing you can do (and one of the most dangerous aspects of BarkyCare). MediCaid has no business at the federal level, in any way, and really should be done away with. Those are solely state decisions ... and state expenses.

People with such health problems (who couldn't afford treatment) used to rely on charity, and that is the way it should be.

Medical expenses are a bottomless pit. You can ALWAYS spend more on medical procedures, tests, drugs, ... There is no end to it. So it CANNOT be paid for by the entity that is in control of the creation of money. To do such a thing is nothing short of societal suicide.

I've wanted to follow through on Ace's idea to decimate Republicans and replace them with real conservatives for a few years.

I actually sat down a did a bit of research, and I think it's possible to do within an individual state's legislature.

Definitely don't want those questions asked because the American people might wake up and start hunting down the Democrat Party and it's acolytes with dogs.

In this visual day and age, it's all about the archival footage. The Cheka/NKVD/KGB didn't film their exploits for posterity. And I can't remember the head of the (pick your name) agency visiting the gulag for a photo op as Himmler did.

I seriously believe that is why Bill Clinton went into politics. He figured out early on that he wasn't going to attract the kind of trim he wanted, so he needed to be powerful to be desirable.

564 487 If I believed in that kind of crap I'd say the Kennedies were cursed. So many deaths in so many odd and sudden ways. Joe Kennedy dies because of a faulty relay on a drone/bomb. JFK gunned down by a communist, likely at the bidding of the mob. His brother gunned down by a Muslim nutjob. airplane crashes, on and on.

And somehow, the worst of them, Teddy dies of old age and eighteen different STDs.

They were cursed because their dear old daddy made some of his dirty money from child prostitution. This was also the fuck who lobotomizied his own daughter. The kennedy's were scum.

565 Wasn't Weiner in NY? Why would she be having him print emails, for the SoS in DC?

Posted by: Jean at May 03, 2017 03:33 PM (LpSwC)

566 So, let me get this straight:

-- A half-blind old granny didn't want to squint at her classified documents on a screen, so she...

-- emailed them to her addle-brained chick assistant for printing, who couldn't figure out how to run the printer, so she...

-- forward the classified emails to her sex-crazed pedophile husband so he could print them out illegally on their home printer, but as a side-effect...

-- his emails were also auto-forwarded to his phone, which he used to communicate with every sleazy teenage wannabe porn star on the internet, half of whom were spies and hackers trying to gain access to his unsecured phone.

Do I have that about right?
