The Boston Globe is All Over the Susan Rice Scandal with Hard Hitting Journalism [Warden]

Well, maybe tomorrow. Folded arms are pretty important, too.

Fortunately, the tireless truth seekers of the Boston Globe were willing to chase down the particulars of this weighty mystery.

Mesmerizing stuff. As the Globe boldly declares on its Twitter masthead, #FactsMatter.

Indeed they do.

Bravo, Boston Globe.

Bra-vo.

By the way, Eric and Laura Trump were being interviewed this morning by Maria Baritoromo and were sitting in chairs in the studio with their two doggies, both beagles. Laura is a big supporter of dog rescues and the one beagle they rescued from a shelter in AZ during the campaign. The dog spent a month at a vet clinic to recover from looked like the either the worst case of mange I've ever seen, or he was burned.

They fostered him for three months and then decided they couldn't live without him.

Laura said she is working on PDT to get a WH dog, and since Pence is a dog lover, they both are piling on the president.
Also, Laura was just hired to work on PDT 2020 campaign. Yes, PDT is planning to run in 2020.

Is it her wedding/engagement ring? If so, the of course she should be wearing it.

Why is it that Democrat "public servants" like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi can wear expensive jewelry, but someone who bought/was bought jewelry with money earned outside of "public service" can't? Hillary got jewelry as gifts from foreigners (*wink, wink) and Pelosi used her position to greatly assist her hubby's businesses.

Son, we live in a world that has political opposition to Obama and Hillary and those political opponents had to be surveilled. Who was going to do it? You, Warden? You, "Ace of Spades"?

I had a responsibility greater than you can possibly fathom.

You weep for Donald Trump and curse the NSA. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That surveilling political opponents, while tyrannical, probably protected Obama and Hillary.

And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to patriotic Americans who respect the Constitution, protected Obama and Hillary.

I have neither the time nor inclination to explain myself to someone who lives in an America enjoying the great success of ObamaCare, of cheap foreign laborm and of the fruits of Obama's and Hillary's foreign policies in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and around the world. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way.

298 There's an update to the story about the guy who was shot while taking a shower in the wrong house (link in my sig). Apparently he spent the night drinking with a buddy who was being deployed to Afghanistan the next day. He went for a walk, and came back to the wrong house (the shooter's house where he ran his internet sports business had the same floorplan and look as the guy's friend's house).

This is all very sad. He was a para-educator for special needs kids in my school district and well-liked.

Highly misleading statements. First, it is not really routine but actually somewhat rare for the NSA to request unmasking, the NSA is a consumer of information not a creator.

Second, the only things the NSA should be dealing with are foreign policy and national security threats. We know that Rice was unmasking Trump officials from conversations that had nothing to do with Russia. We don't know what they are but what possible foreign policy or national security issues that have nothing to do with Russia could the Trump people be involved with a year before the election?

Forget the spin. This is a real scandal and there is more there.

366 It sounds like Bannon's role there was mostly for the transition anyway, and he was not especially active in that role. Now the senior guys are in that role.

367 Ivanka is Trumps' favorite and wants her close so he has at least one friend in the Oval office. Melania is a nice lady but she's in Mom mode and doesn't have the necessary chops (that's an observation, not a criticism).

Ivanka softens Trump's image, and so far he doesn't act on her issues (e.g. CAGW).

Having Jared involved is necessary to have Ivanka. He only becomes a problem if he starts to believe he's Special and can't get fired.

I do not put it beyond the capacity of Assad to launch a gas attack, but I know it can be produced by the jihadists/"rebels" easily enough, and if it was being produced in a building in a populated area, an airstrike on that building could easily result in the release of sarin gas to the immediate area.

Can't really trust any of the players in this instance.

The DNC sold the narrative for him to jump in - so it was there if he wanted it. He pulls some Working Class votes that went Trump. He's more personable than Hillary.

What I find interesting is that there is no definitive proof about what the chemical agent was.

They have the victims in Turkish hospitals... which is a NATO country..... we have tests for various chemical agents...

We could also easily get in and take ground samples, as it is supposedly in Rebel occupied territory....

For an international charge this large... you'd think everyone would be running tests... would be looking for that definitive proof....

Because from a GeoPolitical standpoint... Assad using Nerve agents on a small town held by rebels makes no real Military sense....

What would he have to gain by killing 100 civilians?

The fact that the two key people that allowed the farce to go forward are dead, Robert Novak and Tim Russert, adds a conspiracy element. Novak could have quashed this at any time. Russert got a broken leg just before he perjured himself. If this was a conspiracy then those two would have had to die to cover it up. And they did.

It makes no sense to use it, but I can't read the guy's mind. However, my limited knowledge of chem/bio weapons, says that Ricin and Sarin are both "easily" concocted by a bathroom chemist vice, weaponized anthrax or VX which require a formal laboratory to manufacture. I would not be surprised to find, when the final bomb has dropped, that the rebels/jihadists were fully engaged in the process of producing chemical weapons.

Eh, it wasn't really a conspiracy. It was a silly issue to begin with but once it went to a special prosecutor someone was going to get found guilty no matter what.

Armitage admitted he was the source and Novac confirmed that Rove was the person who confirmed.

Libby was found guilty of obstructing the investigation and lying to the GJ. Special prosecutors always seem to be able to catch someone in a perjury trap and Bush should have pardoned him. He has a huge blindspot for following the rules and bending over backwards to not appear partisan but he went way to far on this.

563 Don't see that Biden thing, at all. Pretty much ignores what actually happened, and the traction Trump got - and where he got it - and a lot of that would have been the same with Biden.

Would Biden have been able to keep cross-over white working class who were/are desperate for change? How? Biden would have spent time, taken risks, to somehow keep this segment, while not pandering to the Dem's sorry base of tribal/racist/self-dealing public sector/suburban NPR airheads?

More than has been the case in most recent elections, Trump's margin in key states voted FOR him, and for the the themes and specific policies he championed. Obviously. Biden wouldn't go one inch toward co-opting or muddling the waters on any of these key things (illegal mass migration, trade, regulatory destruction of economic opportunity). He wouldn't have touched any of those.

Meh. The portrait is still a more worthy topic of, um, "discussion" - yeah, that's it - than all of this theoretical bubble-blowing (stole that from Karl Marx his own self, though I've always wondered about the translation).

You seem to be misapprehending the post you are responding to (deliberately or not). Islamic terrorists are practicing Islam. They are following their religious texts and dictates as preached to them at THE most holy Islamic site. Fail to recognize that and you cannot hope to combat terrorism.
Many, even most, Muslims do not commit acts of terrorism but most do support those acts (both philosophically and with the 10% of their money that goes to their mosques and is filtered out from there. To paraphrase what P.J. O'Rourke said about the Lebanese Muslims he met man to man, one on one, they are salt of the earth. Reading it more closely, I don't think BSG was going for "chickenhawk" precisely, though I think there was a question of how personally experienced you in fighting, which seems to have been an error, both in that you sound like you are in fact experienced, and the fact that you are both discussing the attributes of a stranger, which doesn't seem like anything that should be personalised.

And now the media will covedr the story by shouting how Trump is a liar, and Trump is wrong. And then further revelations will come out that maybe there was something there, but it wasn't illegal. And then it will be yes, it was unlawful, but not illegal-illegal. And then it will be a muttered Trump was right, and more people will check onto the psych ward.

You know - the usual drill for a Trump tweet.

I figured he must have evidence to be tweeting that - and telling Obama to get a lawyer. That wasn't your typical trading-insults-with-Rosie trash talk.

This was so effective - tweeting the accusation early on a Saturday morning, and not only did it throw the DC/NYC bubble people into a complete tizzy, it broke up what was a very serious effort to pick off each of his appointments, one by one, with them being emboldened after the Flynn scalp.

689 OT --- I mean, ON topic!

I like this photo. The expression is serious while still being pleasant and friendly, perfect for a FLOTUS.

I like the setting. This is taken in the central hall of the 2nd floor residence, west side. You can tell that by the window and the hint of the Executive Office Building outside. I can't recall any previous FLOTUS using a backdrop in the private residential floor --- but it works.

And I agree with Dolce & Gabbana that she wears their stuff beautifully. This is a classic D&G look --- the tailored jacket softened and perked up with the scarf.

He's a fencer who has a very deep intuitive understanding of his opponents. These attacks aren't meant to strike home, but to elicit a response from his opponents, allowing Trump to close off lines of attack against him, open new lines of attack against them, and create a bind which gives him a better knowledge of his opponents' intentions. And if an attack doesn't work, he backs off, resets, and tries something new.

What are you talking about?

King Abdullah II was born in Amman Jordan in 1962. and became King upon the death of his father, King
He is a Hashemite, who believe themselves to be the 41st generation direct descendents of Mohammed, the Prophet.

This king was not "installed" by the British, Jordan became a state long after the region was carved up post WW I .

Most of the middle east consists of tribes that have been moved in and out of the immediate region due to wars and conquests. Jordan is no different, although it's desire from it's founding is to be a moderate, progressive, modern Arab kingdom.

King Abdullah's website has a lot of historical info. He and his father have been strong allies of the USA and I have quite a bit of admiration for what he and Queen Rania have done to keep Jordan modern and to foster a more open society.

The King of Jordan, the last British installed monarch in the Mid East.

Not even from a tribe in Jordan.

Most of the middle east consists of tribes that have been moved in
and out of the immediate region due to wars and conquests. Jordan is no
different, although it's desire from it's founding is to be a moderate,
progressive, modern Arab kingdom.

King Abdullah's website has a lot of historical info. He and his
father have been strong allies of the USA and I have quite a bit of
admiration for what he and Queen Rania have done to keep Jordan modern
and to foster a more open society.

Charles Glass's "Tribes with Flags has a pretty good history of that region (along with his travelogue which includes the story of his kidnap by Pro-Iranian terrorists in Beirut).

Now I can go back and check on the early news threads.

My day is all out of order.

754 That $3 million ENGAGEMENT RING, which of COURSE she should be wearing! is giving the Leftoids a real hardon. They're all screeching that it's just not fair, dammit, that she can flash that kind of ice.

I bet President Trump bought it at Harry Winston's. Same place Richard Burton bought Elizabeth Taylor's Krupp diamond (IIRC), which the Leftoids never bitched about.

Melania looks fabulous, and the Leftoids can eat excrement.
