Gizmodo Thinks It's Found James Comey's Secret Twitter Account, and Surprise, That Account Follows David Ignatius, the Reporter Who Kicked Off the Russia Investigation Leaks

Seems pretty likely this is Comey's account.

Sure would like a subpoena for this account's DMs with David Ignatius.

Ah, thank you!! So this would be communicating with others using a platform/account that skirts his legal requirement to save all work-related communications/documentation. And by having a secret account he makes it hidden from any FOIA requests from, say, Judicial Watch.

114 Can't figure Comey out. He didn't always do what Obama and Jarrett

115 This is a big deal. FireEye is one of the cyber consultancies that testified at yesterday's Senate hearing on Russia. I didn't see it, but looked at their prepared opening statement:

"Let me now turn to explaining why we assess that the Russian government was likely behind this activity.
In order to make such an assessment, we reviewed and compared intrusion methodologies and tools, malware or authored exploits and use of shared personnel.
We also examined forensic details that were left behind, such as the specific IP addresses or email addresses from spear phishing attacks, file names, MD5 hashes,
timestamps, custom functions, encryption algorithms, or backdoors that may have command and control IP addresses or domain names embedded.
***
The size of the infrastructure, the targeted information, the amount of malware and the totality of the sophistication, suggests a long-term, well-resourced espionage campaign in which Russia is the benefactor. "

I'm just an Ignoramus, but it reads like they're saying it looks like the Russians, therefore it must be the Russians.

190 "wants to primary the Freedom Caucus?"

Why not? The truth is if a politician doesn't get the right pork projects they are out. Trump can get any of these people out by just messing with Federal grants. FDR became President-for-Life by giving out Federal money. Hillary became a Senator by Bill Clinton granting four billion to the right places in NY.

Trump is showing these guys that they need him more than he needs them. The difference between good leaders and ass*oles is that everyone likes the results of good leaders. Trump has till 2020 to have good results. The FC has till 2018. Results.

This generally explains all of the "odd" actions you might see where government agencies have limited investment in whatever they are supposed to be doing...but a lot of investment in protecting each other.

In Comey's case I would presume the issue is he could see that Hillary would have put the whole government at risk in a way that a more competent politician like Obama would not. Remember she was running on starting a way with Russia, and almost certainly would have led to a "State Of Disobedience" scenario.

The best case scenario for a somewhat more serious solon was to sabotage BOTH Hillary and Trump...but more of the former.

The director of the FBI has people to aggregate news for him. Heck, that's a good part of the job of the FBI.

As to communicating with friends and keeping up with them, no one in the intelligence game should be doing that on a public website. Not for any reason.

And, besides all this, you would think that the director of the FBI wouldn't have time on his hands. If he has this much free time then he's not doing a very good job at the FBI. Of course, we knew that.

However, he used it to follow journalists covering stuff his office is investigation, so there appears to be a work element to it. That could be done by an assistant with some sort of generic FBI account/one that doesn;t draw attention to itself as being FBI - and it would be something that could be subpoena'd/known for public records act.

OK, I can see why someone like Comey might not want to advertise his family and interests for the sake of not making himself or his family an easier target for anyone (say, a foreign intelligence person) to exploit. So an Ana Chapman type can't see he likes to go to X bar to watch the Redskins games because he's a superfan or go to his kid's football game, that sort of thing.

If there are more than two people of the same sex in the story - or in any of the unrelated side stories - strict attention to the use of pronouns must be observed, such that people can follow which he or she you are talking about, unless it is blatantly obvious to someone, who, while listening, is thinking about boobehs.

Several years ago Boy BFF and I got into a screaming fight when he called me to complain about how his wife wanted to go to the fancy resort in Jamaica and he wanted to go to the cheaper place and I started shrieking at him about how he lost his job a month ago and it was irresponsible to go to Jamaica at all.

This went on for a good 45 minutes until he mentioned, in passing, "I mean she just got that $10,000 bonus" and I replied don't you think you should have started the conversation with that? Because, you know, that's a rather different proposition now, isn't it?

383 Peter Thiel allegedly helped Hulk Hogan sue Gawker out of business. Gawker outed Thiel who now actd as DJT'S Silicon Valley liason.

Per Wiki

In September 21, 2016, Gawker Media's assets except for Gawker were purchased by Univision Communications and have been moved to Gizmodo Media Group.[9][10]

So there's that. Gawker wasn't in the business of making conservatives look good. So there is that too. Sounds like a peace offering.

396 I wish people would stop repeating the gossip that J Edgar Hoover was a transvestite.
The source for that is ONE, just ONE man who was a bitter enemy of Hoover. And he had no way of knowing such a thing anyway.

The Left, with help from the Soviets, spread the story and now everyone believes it.

Now, for all we know, Hoover was a furry or had an unusually close relationship with his parakeet. Who knows? But I hate repeating left-wing smears.
