Progressive Hamburger Maker McDonald's Insults The President Of The United States Via One Of Their Twitter Accounts

McDonald's tweets to Trump: 'You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President'

And they promptly trotted out the hacked/compromised/space-aliens did it/not our fault corporate blather.

Except, look who is on McDonald's corporate site!

gibbs mcd.jpg

Do I think it was the compulsive liar and spinner of the Obama fiction who orchestrated this? No...probably not. But it is loose corporate shit, and maybe that lack of attention to detail leaks into their sanitation and quality control and a host of other important things.

There are too many options available to the fast-food consumer for companies to allow this kind of idiotic mistake. Some smug little SJW fresh out of her six-year BA in Lesbian Low-Country Poetry with a minor in Interpretive Dance is chuckling away...hopefully on the unemployment line. But my guess is she doesn't care.

I am a sad obsessive. I had a haircut last week and I thought it was left much too long.. so I went back to have it trimmed back some more.. but now it seems too short and I'm worried its going to distract from my ski vacation next week (I was planning to go to bars at night and try to talk to loose women). Good advice when you can lose half your customers with one single tweet.

Naw, it's likely just the work of some stupid entry-level social media assistant who graduated last spring. However, one can believe that stupid stuff happens like this when your corp. culture is out of whack (read: very progressive/SJW focused as top priority) and/or it is a sign that the fish rots from the head (reflects lack of message discipline, management restraint).

Posted by: Rick in SK at March 16, 2017 11:07 AM (FZYNt)

McDonalds had better food forty years ago before they decided to become a marketers dream instead of a restaurant. They change the menu, their sourcing, and their prep of food every other week in some response to a SJW complaints or to a new market target.

Their fries are inedible at this point in time. You can't tell the difference between them and the paper sleeve you take off the straw. Their sandwiches such as a Quarter Pounder have water dripping out of them, and the condiments are slopped onto them, sometimes landing in the middle, sometimes off the side. Unless you are lucky enough to visit a store that has a plethora of retirees working at it, the staff can't speak English even if it's their native language, and have zero incentive to do anything more than toss a prewrapped sandwich that was made an hour ago in a bag and dump the dried out fries in upside down.

My niece worked at McDonalds for years as an assistant manager and finally left for another corporate job as she could no longer tolerate corporate rules regarding staffing and ordering. Not to mention hiring today no longer means hiring teenagers that you can beat into submission like yesteryear and actually teach them how to work and hold a job. Today's hires are welfare single moms, and convicts working through a work release program. 25 year olds who cannot read or write. it is an impossible situation for which McDonalds has no answer.

The fact there's been no apology speaks volumes.
=========
"Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this."

If you parse the statement:
1) "Twitter notified us"
-- passive voice and avoids _how_ they were notified. Allows that they read their own Twitter feed and saw the tweet. Technically true that "Twitter notified us."

2) "our account was compromised."
Compromised is way different from "unauthorized use." That word allows the impression of a "hack" while also including an employee with full authorization to use the account.

3) "secured our account"
Again, allows for an employee. E.g.: "we secured our account by firing/reassigning the employee who did it."
Note well: The first thing any hacker would do is change the password. Look how quickly they were able to delete the tweet AND post the response. 8:17AM tweet; 9:22AM response--just barely an hour.

4) "and are now investigating this"
This is designed to throw you off, give the impression they don't know who did it. It's also a false reassurance/trust move.

Yeah, it's over 90% that this was an internal job, an employee with full access to the Twitter account.

346 Bums me out because my first job was at a McDonald's. Back then (yeah yeah) the fries were cooked in beef fat, not vegetable shortening. The menu was a lot smaller and the emphasis was on cook-to-order. Now all the ingredients are cooked in bulk in the back and kept in holding bins to be assembled.

Microwaves were forbidden when I worked there. These days, not so much.

And as a teenager, I did actually have pride working there. It was a hard job, but everything made sense and I could see the need behind even the scut work I had to do.

Something changed quite a few years ago, and I couldn't stand it any longer. I stopped going. Indifferent counter service bordering on the hostile. Food that was assembled by bored grill staff. It's sad and I hate that it happened to an organization where I learned so much as a young man.

355 Well I can't start boycotting MickeyDs because they were already nearly last on my list of places where I'd get a fast food sammich or snack. Chick Fil-A if I want chicken in any form or GoodTime or BK for a burger; and I try to limit fast food stops anyway because they aren't very fast and are diet and budget busters.

This is just one more example of the socialist kids feeling like rude and vile statements and actions are OK as long as the target is a "nazi equivalent GOP/conservative" and I think this is very dangerous for society/the country. So far conservatives have been taking a stance of "refusing to take the bait"

But at some point there needs to be at least some kind of tough love "well no one who treats me like this continues to live under my roof" pushback where the dole for commie brainwashing professors in the form of student aid and grants to study why lesbians are fat or where is the mythical warming hiding and etc gets cut off"

And McD's advertising is a total shit-show. A certain segment of our nation makes up roughly 11 or 12 percent of our population, yet manages to comprise (depending upon which McD's commercial we're talking about) between 50% and 100% of the actors appearing in their spots. "Diversity" my ass.

I just let that one go.

I never went anyway, so it's not like her little boycott affected me.
Posted by: TheJamesMadison at March 16, 2017 11:49 AM (GBcFH))

Ah yes, Jimmy went to Africa, paid tens of thousands of dollars in fees for licenses, guides, etc. all dictated by the government of where he was hunting and shot the last rhino or some such thing.
He was found not liable by the government there, but his guides, etc were fined and removed from guiding as they ended up taking Mr. Jimmy into a game preserve to hunt that they did not have permission to hunt.

And that just piled onto the SJW memes of not hunting in Africa, directed at the dentist who shot Cecil the Lion, and the Trump boys who also hunt in Africa and the 14 year old girl who hunted.

And resulted in the closure of hunting in many areas of Africa, which predictably resulted in the increase in poaching by locals who now no longer have hunters paying thousands to hunt and supported their villages.

The Dallas Safari club has been a strong conservation effort in Africa and has followed the tragic results of good intentioned and brainless thinking of the SJW. There site has a lot of info on it.

391 Is it possible that this was Gibb's purpose? To infuriate the people who regularly go to McDonald's in order to shut it down because it's a gross fast food place that only gross people (those bible thumping/gunclingers, dontcha know?) frequent?

I know that's conspiracy oriented, but dang, these days, I'm beginning to wonder what's NOT a conspiracy. It's easier.

Personally, McD's was a place of refuge living overseas- you knew what you were getting, because it was strictly controlled. After ameobas, you tend to look for that. Plus, the burgers, at least in Saudi, were freshly made, and tasted more like Five Guys burgers than McD's burgers.

I don't really eat McD's here in the states, except for an occasional fry hankering. But this seems so unbelievably stupid that I have to wonder if it was intentional, just not for the outward appearance?
