Jason Chaffetz Asks Justice Department to Find the Leakers; Trump Also Calls For Probe Into Leakers

Trump announced he'd called the DoJ to find out who the illegal leakers of classified information are. He said this a half hour ago in his press conference.

Chaffetz called them yesterday.

The Utah Republican told host Martha MacCallum that "no matter where you are on the political spectrum, you cannot have classified information migrating out into a non-classified setting."

Chaffetz's letter to Inspector General Michael Horowitz, which was also signed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., described "serious concerns about the potential inadequate protection of classified information" and requested "that your office begin an immediate investigation into whether classified information was mishandled" in the Flynn case.

Time for some people to be trundled off to jail.

Regarding the Deep State, I've been saying for some time what scares the hell out of me isn't that they're sinister. I always imagined they were.

What scares the hell out of me is that they're so incompetent. It's one thing to imagine the world is being run by sinister but highly competent people; it's another thing entirely to find out they're not only evil, but bumbling fools who would trip over their own shrimp-dicks if their legs where small enough.

19 Ace,

One reason they are bumbling around is that they have not had an adversary for many years, and they simply do not know how to react.

For the last eight years they have done the bidding of the White House, but now they are in direct opposition to the White House, and they simply don't know how to cover their tracks and be stealthy and clever.

Also because they are dumbfvcks, but that's just a bonus.

24 Ace wouldn't remember this, being only 39 years old and all, but back in the '60s Hollywood started urping out the right-wing coup movies, like 'Seven Days In May' and 'The Manchurian Candidate', where earnest but deluded right-wingers rebel against their DULY ELECTED AND SWORN PRESIDENT/stentorian voice off and, wrapping themselves in the US flag, attempt to stage a coup to head off those there commie policies them their egghead liberals were a-trying to shove through.

And, of course, now that it's finally happening, the bunch of malcontents are either left-wing apparatchiks, or Republican relics from the Age of Dacron.

Amazing. I wonder what else Hollywood gets wrong? /spoiler alert I'm really not wondering at all.

Just remember, you are talking about professionals in the intelligence community. The person who saw the actual intel would hand it off to a 'cut out', someone with no obvious connection to the professional. The cut out would then hand it off to the media people who protect their sources. So even if you get the media to roll over on their sources, you only get the cut out and then you have to connect the middle man to the insider.

140 My theory: a large part of this is about teh gays.

Remember how in the 2012 campaign the Bamster taunted Romney like a twelve-year-old when Romney dared to suggest that Russia might be an adversary? Bamster was certainly not much exercised about what Russia had done on its border with Georgia.

I suggest things started going downhill much faster between Obama & Hillary & the MSM & Hollywood & Academe etc on the one hand and Russia on the other hand when Putin cozied up to the Russian church and came out for traditional family values, i.e., not the radical homosexual agenda.

Pussy Riot trespassing in a church and causing mayhem and then getting arrested and thrown in a gulag somewhere really got the US elites in a lather. What Pussy Riot was protesting was Putin cozying up to Christians and especially the Russian Orthodox Church. But they didn't protest peacefully on the sidewalk, they trespassed inside the church and harassed people inside and still claimed it was unfair to get arrested because LGBTQWERTY or something.

To Obama et al the fellow travelers, suddenly Putin was not just a former communist official trying to make his way in the post-USSR but actually a family values traditionalist!

Not a crypto-friend, but a crypto-enemy. And thus the taking of different sides in Ukraine, and Putin grabbing Crimea, taking the opposite side in Syria, and so forth.

The Deep State is all in with the LGBTQWERTY agenda and like Obama deeply offended that Russia did not get with the program.

So Trump cannot be allowed to patch things up with Russia, because otherwise next thing you know Putin and the FSB will be out in Dupont Circle breaking up gay orgies among WaPo reporters, or something.

181 The term "deep state" helps me a lot because it uses only two words to cover what it always took me a couple of paragraphs to describe.

Namely, that no matter what party an elected official belonged to their Washington staff was made up of poli-sci majors from Harvard, Yale, and Stanford (who had studied under progressive professors) and these people were rarely changed out when a new rep/Senator came in.

It is not 17 Intelligence Agencies, I am tired of this canard. The DIA is military specific intelligence, it feeds the US Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines, each of these have an "agency" but their intelligence function is to support the respective service chief and act as a reach back for deployed and deploying units. There is 5 "agencies" that can be knocked off the collective 17 right there.

In the Iran dealio we have the opposite. Non-classified information being treated like SCI classified.

With the Dems the way information is handled is to keep info that might damage the great and holy Party out of the sight of the American public. Foreign governments? They don't care if they have it as long as they are not Israel. The Iran deal is one example, Hillary's server is another.

The whole "Russia hacked the election" is about information, in DNC and Podesta emails, getting to the public and damaging the Party. That is treason to them.
