How Losing My Political Values Helped Me Gain My Freedom [Warden]

There's a frustrating game that the left plays with conservatives. It's an Alinksy tactic called, "Make them live up to their values." Now, living up to one's values isn't a bad thing, but setting high standards ultimately means that you'll sometimes fall short.

The left loves to exploit these shortcomings--every Christian who falls short of perfection is a hypocrite; the social values candidate you voted for just got arrested for drunk driving. Haha, everything you believe and advocate is now discredited.

They got away with it for years, waving away the lies, hypocrisy, indiscretions, and criminal behavior from their own politicians while beating the right mercilessly with the missteps of their own. It's effective because the right always maintains a baseline of integrity not displayed by the left, as evidenced by comparing what happens to Republican politicians when they're caught in criminal behavior with what happens to Democrats. Republican voters and politicians reluctantly dump the malefactor while Democrats defend their guy and launch an offensive against those who demand accountability.

And then came along Trump, a guy just ripe for demonization by the left. I think it's fair to say that even his early supporters worried that the Democrats would successfully make him toxic to the general voting public with his boorish behavior, vulgarity, multiple bankruptcies and very public divorces.

But something strange happened. Not only did Donald Trump not care about attacks on his character, neither did anyone else. We saw this new paradigm assert itself over and over during the primary throughout repeated media predictions that this time he's gone to far and he's cooked.

This same indifference that helped Trump carry the election has continued into the early days of his administration. With it comes a refreshingly freeing state of mind. Personally, I don't feel in any way responsible for Trump, nor do I feel compelled to defend him against attack.

Why? Because I voted for retribution.

"He's think-skinned and petty!" shrieks the left. "He takes everything personally!"

Good, I say. I want him to take attacks personally and deal out payback. I know I won't be the target, you will be.

"He's unpresidential! He'll destroy the integrity of the office!"

No, that's already happened. Remember, you elected a shit-talking jackass who takes selfies at state funerals when he's not giving stealth middle fingers to his opponents during debates. There is no dignity of the office, not after Clinton and Obama.

"He's a narcissist! He's got totalitarian impulses!"

Yes, he's basically a mirror version of Obama. Except now, he'll be working for what I want. The end justifies the means. You taught me that.

"A sitting president going after the media. OMG!"

Oh, like Obama trashing Rush Limbaugh and Fox News? How about when he sent his lackeys to berate news reporters for failure to flatter him at all times. Oh, and NSA spying on the press. That was pretty great, too.

"He won't show his taxes!"

Don't care. Where are Obama's college transcripts, by the way?

"He's a bully! Is this what you want? Someone who uses his power to bully other people?!!!"

And this is where everything funnels down to the very nexus of my change in attitude from "Do unto others" to "I will do unto you what you do unto me."

It's two words: Memories Pizza.

It was that moment that everything changed for me--not only the harassment, fake Yelp reviews and the death threats that forced them to temporarily close up shop--oh, that was bad enough, but the most powerful man on Earth bullying a couple of small town pizza owners from Indiana simply for expressing an opinion on a hypothetical asked of them by a reporter with a malicious agenda? That was when I snapped.

Do you remember?

It's this that sent me to a place from which I'll never return. I literally don't care what Donald Trump does because nothing he can do is worse than what they've already done.

Donald Trump isn't the bully; he only insults and abuses people in power who have attacked him. They're the fucking bullies. The left, with their smears, their witch hunts, their slanders, their insults, their riots, their violence, and their weaponizing of the federal bureaucracy.

There aren't any rules anymore because the left only applies them one way. And in doing so, they've left what once was a civil compact between the two parties in smoldering ruins.

I have no personal investment in Donald Trump. He is a tool to punish the left and roll back their ill-gotten gains, no more and no less. If he succeeds even partially in those two things, then I'll consider his election a win.

Further, I no longer have any investment in any particular political values, save one: The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I'll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because fuck these people.

This new philosophy has freed me of more emotional angst that I can describe. Literally nothing the left says or does matters to me anymore. I don't care about their tantrums. I don't care about their accusations. I don't care if they say Trump is lying. I don't care if Trump is lying.

They created this Frankenstein. They own it. I am free of all obligation. I will never play defense again. I will attack, attack, attack, attack using their own tactics against them until they learn their lesson.

What I will not do is let them play my values against me ever again. I don't need to prove that I'm better than them. I already know it.

12 I agree with some of this, but I'm not going to stop having values just because the left is full of hypocrites with no real principles other than whatever keeps them in power - hell, I knew that way before 2016. But what I won't do is let my values be a handicap.

I quit caring about what people who did not even know me, think about me.

Hell... I don't even care what relatives think about me...

And I AM a counterpuncher... I never start anything... but I sure will not remain silent in the face of stupidity. I WILL say something...

Which has led to a very calming effect at family functions... no one talks politics there... no one goes on the Lefty screeds they used to... because they know I will be there and will NOT allow them to 'have the floor'...

The Left only wins, when it is unopposed by those unwilling to fight it...

And I've found turning the other cheek, just gives me two sore cheeks...

30 Great article. I think it does a good job of articulating what a lot of us are thinking. Didn't really care for Trump as a candidate, but I LOVE how he punches the left over and over again. I don't care about his foibles, but I'm completely in favor of how he's taking care of business.

I think an unexpected bonus is that he's going to drag the Republican party, kicking and screaming, along with him once they realize that voters like a leader who has some sack.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ashley Judd already knows how to talk to real people:

"I still want to be called a "non person of color," to designate my whiteness in contrast with "person of color." It could help address the inherent flaw in whiteness as the default standard, the term PoC being obviously a contrast to white. And "non person of color" has the added benefit of . . . ."non." A negating word preceding talking about me and my race/ethnicity. Now, wouldn't that be helpful and good for a while? For me to experience what it may be like to have my personhood negated before a conversation even gets started? Because isn't that what has happened with and to people of color for so long? Personhood negated through language, and a prism of other ways . . ."

Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks. Laugh at a joke, get another joke free! at January 25, 2017 08:33 PM (Nwg0u)

52 wait, it wasn't so much that nobody cared about trumps excesses but that everyone detested the media and the talking heads, the pollsters the left and the establishment right.

in fact, people embraced trump to the degree he was rejected especially because of those reprobates being the agents of that rejection.

if it pissed off the right people, then that, unwaveringly, is what we did.

Posted by: Bigby's Ouija Board at January 25, 2017 08:33 PM (U0lQa)

53 Well I never have anything "invested" in any elected official, including personal friends. It's not sports, and I'm not 13 years old.

And Trump is a lot more than a tool to achieve ends, he's the tool operator in many ways.

He wasn't squeezed or flanked into taking a common sense position on mass illegal migration, or seeming dismissive of climate change nonsense, and Common Core, etc. All these things were clearly what he thought, and in some cases he was a much more credible and emphatic opponent of this crap than his GOP rivals.

And disregarding style issues to me wasn't a result of the absurd presidencies of Clinton and Obama, it's just a focus on what matters - and realizing how desperately bad things are.

He's not a breath, but a typhoon, of fresh air. Let's see if he has any imitators in the next few years.

But it didn't hurt him any, and then I started noticing that it often helped him, and now I'm really really grateful that he does that.

Remember the right about inauguration crowds? Over, right? It's over when Trump says it's over. He got a panoramic shot of the Washington Mall, filled with people, framed, and said it will hang in the press hall in the White House.

The funds were stagnant due to a "hold" by two House GOP members (committee chairmen).

Not dispensing otherwise approved funding at the request of particular reps or Senators is an informal, though uniformly practiced, courtesy - not a legal requirement. So giving the $$$ to the Pals may not have been illegal in the slightest - just what is technically known as a "dick move", due to the timing and the two holds still in effect.

143 It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the patriots began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait,
Til every count should be proved,
Ere the patriots began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight,
There was neither sign nor show,
When the patriots began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the patriots began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date,
That patriots began to hate.

On the other hand, their party is verifiably evil, insane, and the direct hand of Satan bent on stomping us all into eternal misery.

Thankfully, we seem to be separating the wheat from the chaff lately.

It reminds me of a Terry Pratchett long running gag. He had some old fashioned Conan the Barbarian types, people who fought the Dark Lords, etc. But the world had gone modern, and there wasn't anyone who called themselves "Dark Lord" or put up a tower with lava and a dungeon. It really made life hard for a barbarian hero, you know?

It was all grey. And so it is today... but it's a lot less gray than 20 years ago. For that I am grateful, even though the left infuriates me. I just hope more and more people flee their evil grasp soon.

There's also the longstanding game which the snooze media play when their Democratic allies get busted, to wit, "Name That Party".

Either the offending pol isn't IDed as a Democrat at all, or it's discreetly buried in the second-to-last paragraph of the story.

A transgressing Republican gets named as such in the headline or in the first two grafs.

Do not worry about what the other side "thinks" of you ( hint: they already hate us and will keep on doing it) just keep beating them and beating them and crushing what they believe until they sue for peace. And then crush them some more and then, as our own Horde member would say: "scatter the stones and salt the earth." ensure that nothing ever grows there again.

198 It reminds me of a Terry Pratchett long running gag. He had some old fashioned Conan the Barbarian types, people who fought the Dark Lords, etc. But the world had gone modern, and there wasn't anyone who called themselves "Dark Lord" or put up a tower with lava and a dungeon. It really made life hard for a barbarian hero, you know?

200 I did originally think Trump engaging on EVERYTHING, even small seemingly meaningless things, was silly, or ego-driven. But now I see the genius of it - he refuses to let the media set the narrative about anything without a fight.

Reminds me of LeBron blocking Steph Curry's shot during a time out - the shot didn't even matter, but it was LeBron saying "you're going to have to work for every point, even points that don't matter."

No more getting bullied. So hell yeah Trump, keep fighting the Inauguration Number Wars, and while the MSM is busy trying to keep hold of that narrative, get tons of other stuff done as well.

Sounds like the very first thing you need to tackle is your job, which I think is fairly new? If you are somewhere a large portion of your waking hours, and it's not good for you, then it will affect everything else. Tell yourself that you will not be there forever, only until you find something else. And then go on a fierce hunt.

And you know that everyone who matters knows that age matters not, except that the older you get the more experience you get and the smarter that makes you.

You know what? Sometimes anger can be good for you; it can get the ball rolling. Make it work for you, dear.

254 225. Seguin might have been a tolerable place - Fredick Law Olmstead called it a beautiful city when he'd seen it - but the '90's and after were none too kind to the place. Honestly, the bars had to out up 'no neck or face tattoos signs' and the Texas Syndicate and Mexican Mafia ended up in a shooting war over a strip-club parking lot fight a few years back.

273 I saw a thing once again today from a dummy who said Trump will get bored and likely not even finish his term.

Sigh.

I will say though that letting Trump be Trump is the best thing that can happen.

Trump builds things. Let Trump build things.

I saw today Trump wants to oversee the building of parts of the wall personally. I say let him do it. I want to see him on site with a hard hat on. To say this will trigger the shitheads is an understatement.

Trump wants to do rallies. Yep he's got a yuge ego and likes the crack hit he gets from his ardent supporters. I say let Trump do the rallies. It will keep the base fired up and, again, it will trigger the shitheads.

We're in uncharted territory and the man is delivering. Let Trump be Trump. Don't bottle him up like all the past presidents. If he wants to oversee the wall and do rallies, he's fucking earned it.

Yes. There have always been movements with crazy people. But it seems people are getting crazier and crazier in larger numbers.

I guess it's the nihilism brought on by our scientific, rationalistic age? Rudolph Bultmann, liberal Lutheran, said "We cannot use electric lights and radios and, in the event of illness, avail ourselves of modern medical and clinical means and at the same time believe in the spirit and wonder world of the New Testament." That's why some people love Muslims. Because they get vicarious relief from their introspection and angst by surrounding themselves with unthinking animals.

A very wise man pointed out that much of Marxist propaganda is about forcing people to repeat a lie. Doesn't matter what the lie is, they just want to force you to repeat it. You don't have to believe it -- you just can never admit you know it's a lie.

Once people get in the habit of repeating the lies -- because if you don't, well, when they're in power they'll kill you, and when they're not they'll "just" try to ostracize you -- they can do anything, because who will call them on their lies?

337 Rudolph Bultmann, liberal Lutheran, said "We cannot use electric lights and radios and, in the event of illness, avail ourselves of modern medical and clinical means and at the same time believe in the spirit and wonder world of the New Testament."

Bultmann was a moron, and not the good kind. People applied their God-given talents to understanding the universe He created. That in no way contradicts the New Testament.

This "Lutheran" was a militant atheist, without the cojones to admit it.

(And I'm saying this as an agnostic. If there's a group I can't stand more than the militant atheists, it's the people who think science somehow says anything about a Creator.)

So no, I don't want Trump to lie either. But frequently Trump's 'lies' have proven out to be, get this, true. Or at least mostly true.

Oh, and I want to point one thing that was a recurring theme here. Many commenters said that Trump would never build that wall; that it was rhetoric. My contention was always that he would have to, that it was a central part of his campaign. *ahem*

and here's the thing-

I can relax.

Really relax. Mentally. Physically.

Because I helped vote into office someone who will TAKE ACTION.

Not a Republican't. Not a limp dish rag like Jeb, McConnell, Ryan. Fuck those guys.

i voted in a man who will TAKE ACTION living up to the promises he made while campaigning for the job he now holds.

And practically every thing Trump does, everything he accomplishes will make the Left howl like howler monkeys receiving ghost pepper enemas.

And I don't care.

Becuz I don't need to care. I no longer care what the Left wants about anything. They broke the social contract. So, now that's the way we'll live until they can find it in their hearts and minds to act like human beings and fellow Americans instead of dire enemies who was to impose their whims on me and mine, who only want to make me poorer through the force of law.

I only want them defeated.

381 At the moment, the Left has the upper hand. They are the dominant culture in the media, the academy and the arts. That's why they are so relentless. Posted by: Caliban at January 25, 2017 09:09 PM (3GFMN)

======

Gotta disagree here. The Left has been in (Bigly!) decline for about 6 years, as evidenced by record losses of Federal, State, County and local political positions.

The visual Media is exponentially increasingly irrelevant.

They have no political bench. In 2018 they have 18 Senate seats to defend, about half of them in States Trump won.

Most importantly, the Country voted for the Fuck Politicians! candidate. They almost had it all, then they went too far too fast and exposed themselves completely. Only a very vocal minority liked what they saw.

The Left is at the same crossroads as the Right, but to a more extreme extent. They need to put their party together or split it into moderate and extreme factions. Based on what I see today, less than a week into Trump! term one, my money is on a split.

Now, as I have said before, I have long awaited the War of the Fellow Travelers. It is impossible for there to be a coherent coalition that includes both LGBT's and Muslims who debate whether they should be hanged or stoned. Muslims who call for the extermination of Israel and Jews. Black Evangelical Christians and militant atheists. The only thing these disparate groups, and all the others, have ever had in common is, no matter what the question, a government program is the answer. Problem is, I think they have run everybody with any sense out of the party and all they have left is the true believers.

472 Many of the cobloggers vanished and I assume it's because of Trump.

I don't think Ace ever did a post about it, or if he did I missed it, but many suddenly vanished.

Meh I don't know. Things change. The old way Thank You Sir May I Have Another not only wasn't working, it was becoming suicidal.

The strand of the party that became Trump was always there. I've seen people say Pat Buchanan was John the Baptist to Trump, but you could probably say the same thing about Perot.

Too many people are hurting and the old way was easily seen as not only not working but actively making things worse. You can say what you want about protectionism and tariffs and populism and you'd be right on some things, but the economy is not the country. The totality of life is not a spread sheet nor is it a bottom line. Elevating the economy over the country hurt a lot of people and would have eventually turned us into something far worse.

I think one thing this election really highlighted for me is how many people give zero fucks about their fellow citizens. That's both on the Right and the Left. There's a lot of I've Got My Little Sinecure so too bad for you going on. It was painful to see it on the Right but I think a lot of us always knew it was there. You saw it with the Harriet Myers nomination. She wasn't one of them so she had to be shamed and driven out.

Just my two cents.

Lots of blog friendships fell apart. Ace and Allah used to be thick as thieves. Almost all of the cobs around here fell away one by one during the primaries.

Political lines needed to be redrawn to represent what had been the true divider in American politics for more than a decade. The people "with juice" vs those without. Turned out, the party they belonged to mattered not at all. Trump pulled off a lot of masks as to where people stood on that issue.

And, honestly, good riddance to the elitists. They were never our allies to begin with. Sad as it is.

508 I'm a fair bit younger, Miley, but I know exactly how you feel. My income has moved sideways all century. I've watched both my parents fade and die in that time. I spent two and a half years looking after dad as he was less and less of the man I knew, little or no help, and now I'm soon out on my ass with maybe $20k from the sale in a couple of months, God knows. I've been ignored, disrespected, insulted, cast aside, taken for granted and left for dead.

Having reached near the bottom (I'm not sleeping in a cardboard box...yet), I see noplace to go but up.

Having seen all I care to of humanity, I have decided my old, kind, generous ways just don't cut it.

I will be kind to those who prove themselves friends, but it's damn well time I made myself top priority. And it feels now like that's become possible now that some of the BS is getting cut away.

It turns out that that just made him relatable. His year doing all kinds of things like his involvement on WWF and the beauty pageants taught him how to CONNECT with the working class, which let him come in under the radar vs the elitists. They STILL don't understand what happened.

In fact they won't even TRY to figure out how a billionaire who was never poor a day in his life, and who went to an Ivy League school, is a sort of folk hero to the working class, and an lowlife outsider to the supposed "elites".

None of those things are CRIMES, by the way, and only an elitist bigot would consider that more important than actual issues and accomplishments.

The circumstances of our lives happen between our choices and God's. There are hidden blessings that God has given us that we don't realize; dodged bullets, close shaves and narrow escapes. My life (which I think is something like yours) hasn't really changed all that much but thinking about the hidden blessings helps my attitude. I listen to Joel Osteen's sermons and that helps my attitude, too.

556 Another thing about depression : being rational, I tell myself my thoughts are my own and I SHOULD feel this way because... reasons.

It is hard to describe... but because the shift is so gradual, it appears to be continuous and therefore, there is no LINE where suddenly I am depressed versus the day before.

But there IS. I just can't see it at the time.

And, honestly, that's the most dangerous time. When I'm depressed but haven't admitted it to myself yet. That's when you are liable to make very, very bad 'rational' decisions.

These assholes treated the gulf states and the people in them like they were sub humans. In about 10 or 15 years from now we will know just how bad people were poisoned/slow killed. Know some fishermen that would get rashes and burns and have terrible respiratory problems a few years after the incident after going out. Older people in south Alabama and Georgia getting sick after a spring storm from the gulf moisture.

That pissed me off with the Left in power running cover for BP, who should not even exist right now, and the criminals who shorted and bought put options the night before it blew.

Nobody STILL seems to get that the reason they're shrieking is that nobody has had the ability to call them out for their propaganda before. Even the best of the Republicans were easily bullied by the media, if they weren't secretly looking for any excuse to cave anyway, because they're phonies and/or have no backbone. Even a lot of the Fox reporters are really part of the same media groupthink.

Nobody notices that while THE MEDIA obsesses about stuff, criticizing TRUMP for obsessing about it (in his tweet that he spent all of 30 seconds on), and supposed Republicans blame TRUMP (for "stepping on the message"), Trump is off doing OTHER stuff. Implicit in that is the Republican abdication to the Leftist media - the admission that they DO NOT have to do their JOBS and report on real news instead of spew propaganda.

THE PROFOUND THING ABOUT THE TRUMP ERA IS THAT HIS GOVERNMENT IS PROVIDING A CHECK ON MEDIA POWER, VS THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Trump is the embodiment of what everyone on the Right has begged our leaders to do. Don't accept the Left's assumptions. Don't just curl in a ball when they call you a sexist, bigot, homophobe, etc. FIGHT BACK!

I love the Left's outrage. I love that they show their true colors more with every passing day. Theirs is a revolution against logic, human nature and morality itself. You can't reason or bargain with them. Like any bully, they are actually cowards who pick on who they perceive to be weak.

Trump has these godless, hell-bound, demonic freaks rending their garments. The wailing and gnashing of their teeth as they become more and more shrill is music to my soul.

As a guy who has been a chief executive for most of his adult life, Trump has to recognize "sanctuaries" as a challenge to his authority, and there's just NO WAY that he will stand for it.

It's actually not much different than Washington's Whiskey Rebellion and the Seccesions that confronted Lincoln.

Expect Trump to respond SIMILARLY. I see these weasel mayors in those cities being defiant and "brave", and I have to chuckle a little. I almost feel sorry for them. They're fundamentally cowards, and will cave like a house of cards long before Trump is forced to do anything drastic. It will be GLORIOUS.

All we have to worry about as far as "Sanctuaries" is the possible exhaustion, due to too much winning!

You've come a long way, Grasshopper, but what you're still not getting is that "what Trump does" is generally NOT bad. Yes, it is not all in line with what a prototypical Conservative would want, but it is ENOUGH in line, and he's a guy that has proven himself time and against he deserves the benefit of the doubt. It was unreal to see Republicans act as PC enforcers during this past election.

The actual conservative leadership had formed a corrupting suicidal alliance with the Globalists that was guaranteed to surrender the government to the Democrats for a generation, if not permanently.

Instead, Trump is the perfect guy to bat clean-up after Obama's original decimation of his party, all while actually "Making America Great Again" - by doing all the common sense stuff that any self-respecting country throughout history would do, and more besides.

611 good essay

the idyllic world could be a great place for all the wonderful ideological philosophies of the NeverTrumpers perhaps ... but we don't have that world.

When they throw dirt in your face, then punch you with brass knuckles, it makes sense to protest "Queensberry Rules"

Then they kick you in the groin, pull a knife and you cry "Queensberry Rules"

Then you look at the referee and figure out he has money on the other guy, and will hit you with a chair if need be.

At some point ... "this is war" ... pull the gun and shoot them both. You do still have your gun, don't you? Don't let them take that.

Trump may not live up to "usual" Conservative values, but he's a semi-truck with a cowcatcher plowing through a horde of Leftist zombies who are so brain-dead that they don't even see him coming.

I've been unfriended on FB multiple times since the election because I now absolutely refuse to bite my tongue. Apparently, Leftists can't handle being called mentally ill cowards who, if they really want a revolution should pick up a gun and come at us. Instead, I get a meek, "Fuck you" and they slink off to their safe space.

I won't actively encourage their deaths, but I wouldn't shed a single tear.

They have absolutely no idea how to handle someone who doesn't put up with their bullshit and really doesn't care what any of them think. Its glorious. GLORIOUS. I now realize, Trump was/is the BEST candidate. No one cares what you think anymore snowflakes. Go back to your campus safe spaces. You cry bully tactics are about to come to an end.

They've been telling us to fuck off for years. Shutting down conservatives in business, boycotting brands and companies until they break, getting people fired from jobs for speaking to conservative values. Turnabout is fair play bitches.

617 Warden: " Literally nothing the left says or does matters to me anymore. I don't care about their tantrums. I don't care about their accusations. I don't care if they say Trump is lying. I don't care if Trump is lying. ...I will never play defense again. I will attack, attack, attack, attack using their own tactics against them until they learn their lesson."

Well put. The issue underlying Memories Pizza was, of course, the coercive redefinition of marriage, in which the majority of Americans were silenced. An allegedly free society was forbidden a voice in defining a fundamental building block of that society. "Who decides?" is paramount in our system, and in this case, it was a tiny handful of corrupt judges.

This is all fundamentally destabilizing and tremendously radicalizing, even if people aren't marching in the streets over it, even if they haven't thought it out like you have and even if, ironically, Trump was more liberal on the issue for years than many Democrats because, again, it is not just about what was decided, but Who Decides.

I think it probably contributed as much to his election as immigration and the world-in-flames-debacles.

This is the way.

I periodically have posts appear on my Facebook page from Minnesota Liberals. I respond by digging up an appropriate post from GatewayPundit, Weasel Zippers, or the story behind a post here, or at Hot Air (still a good news aggregator), or other site, and posting it on the Libtard's thread ...

The result is worth facing an occasional Flying Monkeys attack. More than a few are, well, personally hurt that someone would provide evidence (EVIDENCE!!) that Their Own Personal Values and World Outlook are, provably, wrong.

They were friends of convenience and weak spirits. Yes, even the ones you knew for 20 years perhaps. Those friends too. Those who demanded tolerance were never willing to give it. Those who insisted you tow the line and slandered you when you didn't. They are weak. They are unrepentant and diseased.

So fuck them. Fuck all of them.

623 Just before logging off, Warden, this is the best distillation yet of how former conservatives were moved from turning the other cheek and playing by the rules to adopting the complete nihilism of the Left. The turning point for me came when Soros thugs started to physically attack Trump supporters and their media propaganda organs shamelessly blamed the victims. In the last few days they have declared physical violence a legitimate tactic against those they deem "Nazi."

We have moved from a cold civil war to a hot one, and this very easily will end violently. There is no constraint on the Right now to do anything necessary to crush these loathsome pricks and ruin their lives. Trump can do no wrong and that includes domestic napalm.

Best thing I've read in a long time. Thanks.

624 In 1973, I was in college, when the Left attempted to ban from campus a writer whom they didn't like. "No Free Speech for Fascists!" was their slogan - and making it clear they would be the ones deciding who was a fascist, and who wasn't. Further, they wanted the man's books removed from the campus bookstore.

At first, I shrugged: what of it? Then it hit me: These people want to make themselves the gatekeepers of my mind. They want to dictate who can hear and who I cannot, what I can read and what I cannot.

The moment I realized that, I burned with fury. I still do.

No compromise with tyrants. Period.

625 I agree totally. I really don't care what they say, do, or bring up. Part of that is because we won. This kind of means I don't HAVE to listen to them, doesn't it.

Another part is I'm sick to death of being screeched at and called names. We don't deserve that abuse.

And another part is I know it doesn't matter WHATSOEVER what Trump does or says, because he could cure cancer and raise Elvis from the dead, and they'd still be screeching and carrying on.

I notice that deplorable, unredeemable, homophobic xenophobic racist and all the rest are no longer enough for them. No. Now we are also Nazis.

So who in their right mind would care any longer what they say? They are lunatics. All of them.

626 Spot. Fucking. On.

I had this very discussion with an Army buddy today, in a round about way--we were searching for what went wrong with W's administration.

The answer? He never fought back.

It all must have seemed very noble to W and Dana Perino: "Oh, this office is way above all that partisan nonsense. blah, blah, blah."

As we watched the Republicans get wiped out in cycle after cycle.

I want Trump to pick a fight with some left-wing media puke every day and punch him in the mouth.

634 I generally agree with the post. It's a good post, a great post, one of the best posts. This post makes AoS great again. We're going to build a wall around this post, and the Democrats will pay for it!

But I still want to add my two cents: the word "values" has been broadened and watered down a lot, and there has occasionally been confusion of means with ends. Tactics and weapons get identified with parties, and when someone proposes adopting enemy tools they're often met with criticism as though they had proposed adopting enemy goals.

Analogy: the Wehrmacht innovated a strategy of rapid offensives and concentrated advances with highly mobile units, commonly known as 'Blitzkrieg'. Imagine that the Marines propose stealing this strategy because hey, it looks like a useful strategy to know, and some nitwit howls "we can't adopt NAZI strategies, it would be a betrayal of our values!!"

Balderdash.

The Left has demonstrated that certain strategies are 1) effective, and 2) in play. I welcome Trump using every one of those strategies back at them twice as hard. After the Left forced people to sing the praises of the gays because "public accomodation" - Trump should likewise force the Left to sing the praises of the Wall. BAKE THE CAKE, FUCKERS.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at January 26, 2017 05:28 AM (fDdVG)

636 And another thing.

You know that whole "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to eat welfare" shtick stuck on the Statue of Liberty?

I want Trump to take it down, and then he can rent the space to the highest bidder or something. For only $100 000/month, you can have your own message displayed here! Ask about our discount pack, $1 000 000 for a whole year!

Because that's how the scribble got there originally. It didn't come with the statue. It appears nowhere in the original plans. It was inscribed as part of a fundraising effort. The Left has been treating it as a law or at least a founding principle ever since (Steve Sailer humorously dubbed it "the Zeroth Amendment to the Constitution"), and getting its way because it would be meeeeean to take it down. Well, I'm sick and tired of being jerked around by the heartstrings over 19th-century sonnet. I'm tired of charity being exploited by the infinitely greedy - "give us more stuff or we'll denounce you", but the demand for stuff always grows and the denouncement never ceases. America has taken in more migrants and refugees than died in the Holocaust; if anyone considers the removal a tear-jerking graffiti poem to outweigh this, their moral worldview is insanely warped and their opinion should count for nothing. America is great. America is charitable. America can remove a much-abused emotional wedge-lever (apologies for the mixed metaphor) for the sake of rational discourse.

It's the Statue of Liberty, not the Statue of Immigrants, and one of the liberties it celebrates is that America is a free and sovereign country, run by and for Americans. Not Brits, not Mexicans, not Syrians. To quote Adams, America is the well-wisher of all, but the champion only of her own.

Say that out loud and you're a racist. Who among the horde would not have done a better job than the idealogical swamp rat the dems crammed down our throats? Since Trump has been elected, I don't care what the media prattle on about, what gets their knickers in a twist, or what lies they spew. Trump won in spite of all of their efforts, so he can declare war on them. If he gets the economy rolling, he'll get 8 years. 650 I'm way late to the party, but for the record; this is just a great piece. I think I could have written it myself. I differ in only one area. The day the paradigm forever changed was the video of the asshat "CEO" clown berating the Chick-Fil-A employee at the drive through window.

You remember this, right? The crime; Dan Cathy, founder of Chick-Fil-A had the audacity to give money to a cause in which he believes. This wasn't allowed to stand, because how dare someone use money to support things the left disagrees. Only Soros can do it, since he uses money for things they agree. But Soros isn't the only rich person. And Mr. Cathy obviously wasn't listening to them; so they attacked his store.

How did the attack go down? Cathy also supported giving out free samples of his product. So that was the moment chosen to video tape the triumph of the progressive. They order their free item, receive it without comment from Chick-Fil-A other than "thank you for coming, have a blessed day". Then the young lady is verbally assaulted for having the additional audacity to take a job from Dan Cathy's business.

How dare a young lady take an entry level job (from a company that tends to pay better than minimum wage for those entry level jobs), and just do her job without worrying about the politics of her boss's, boss's, boss's, boss's, boss. She's needs to hear it from the rich and powerful CEO of another company, because he has the time and resources to be a badass bully.

Yeah, that was the moment I realized these people are not reasonable. Trump wasn't my first choice. I did, and actually have come to regret, support Cruz in the primary. But Trump is what these people deserved. That Trump is exceeding my expectations just happens to be what I always wanted from a Republican President and haven't seen since Reagan.

658 Whew. Talk about some projection. Ace - You have become an excellent example of the phenomenon of right of center people who are incredibly sensitive...and spend much of their time complaining about how sensitive and "PC" people on the left are. I can imaigne there is quite a long list of "trigger" words that set you off. In fact, I bet the word "trigger" triggers you! I am not a liberal, I am moderate. But, people like you from the right who whine and cry and complain every single time you are offended or your precious "macho" guy Trump is criticized are WAY worse to me now than people from the left who do the same. I am constantly rolling my eyes at all the emoting that is coming from the right these days. And usually it is emoting about how you can't handle the emoting from the left. I realize you are saying you don't care anymore about being criticized by the left or whatever. But do you realize that screaming "I DONT CARE ANYMORE!" actually shows you care quite a bit? You are just choosing a different weapon to attack the left with, that's all. The "Oh I dont care what you say" weapon. But you definitely care, or you wouldn't feel the need to make this post. Anyway, just a suggestion - stop being so freaking emotional! You are exactly what you complain about in the left.

You could have found common ground with the people you think you are your 'enemies' instead of throwing anti-American tantrums where you're perfectly happy with destroying the country you live in. You may have abandoned your values but the left has found theirs in exile. 665 The only way we can defeat this bigotry, that Ace is showing here, is:

1. to actively get out and support Keith Ellison for DNC Chair

2. Begin the process of Congressional support for reparations to all peoples of African descent in the United States.

3. End affirmative action, recruiting and contract preference for White Women.

4. Ensure that black and brown children have automatic entry into state colleges.

Folks, this is totally doable, and I am calling on all decent White People (I know we still have some in this Trump Era), specifically the Christian whites to step up; and listen to words of our Brothers and Sisters of Color. That's why I am supporting Tulsi Gabbard to be the FIRST female president, in 2020. She is will sooth the damage that Trump (and his radical white , especially male followers) will do in the next 8 years.

673 I'll plow through the comments later, but regarding the original post.

Civilized behavior is something we owe civilized people.

People who demonstrate they don't care about that - those who put themselves outside the law, also, morally, put themselves outside the limits.

Some, as in the prisoners dilemma, will, once you punch back, back off and say "sorry" and straighten out and act right.

Others will double down. Worse, even if you don't punch back, they'll take it as weakness and double down, triple down, and then cry if you ever even say "no."

It may only be a "minority" of the left, but it's a LOUD one. Many of the offenders are in positions of power, status, adn influence. And those in positions of status who do not engage in this behavior nevertheless cover for it.

I dare any leftist to find me a case of protests similar to Friday's after Obamas inauguration. Even if they manage, or go "muh abortion clinic bombers", you won't find the behavior of those violent scum excused.

The left does it. The left doesn't care. The die hard among the left refuses to believe when you show them.

They wanted to break heads, scream nazi, and put people out of jobs? They wanted to put themselves outside the law and that behavior on the table?

They should have been careful what they wished for.

Outside of Wayne Barrett, (who most of you don't know) knows more about Trump then perhaps his children. Or maybe they wouldn't acknowledge it. The book is in the library. A short 214 pages, with plenty of notes where you can then check the records. Johnston's email is in the book if you have corrections, which I doubt you will. It is too bad that most of us, conservatives and progressives really don't know about Trump. Well we do know he is a liar, a poor businessman (didn't know jack about casinos) He got taken to the cleaners by a Japanese gambler. The guy so cleaned out another casino the casino had to close. He was from Japan. He was later found in his home hacked up beyond recognition by the yakuza. Trump has also bilked a lot of people who bought in to his properties because it was made to believe he was the developer, but turned out he just licensed his name. Is this the type of person you want leading the country. By the way there is a documentary called http://trumpthemovie.com/ You can watch it for 3 dollars on You Tube. Some how Trump got it suppressed for 25 years. Another thing he has been able to do is get a lot of records sealed. I am guessing there is some bad stuff in there that he doesn't want seen. Much like his taxes. F. Scott Fitzgerald said action is character. We are going to see how bad his actions are.

681 Interesting double speak coming from the so called liberators who are so racist and bigoted in their comments about anyone who happens to be Christian and/or White. Their only answer is to whine and shout bigots, while they openly send out calls to action to obliterate anyone in those categories. Yep, no doubt about it, they called down and named The Destructor here. The saddest part of all this to me, is they don't learn from their mistakes. They keep on with the same rhetoric that got them in to this boat in the first place. Like schoolyard bullies, they keep hoping they can intimidate everyone by the sheer force of their threats and aggressive stances. Listen up, lefties, I'm the golden egg in the voting booth, the Independant one leaning on the school yard fence watching you and the asinine antics you and your hordes use, you want to keep calling everyone who isn't in your gang a racist bigot? It's a free country and you can do it, but you got what you deserved. To use your own rhetoric against you, "If you kick the dog long enough, you will eventually get bitten". Why are you so shocked? Learn something this time, would you? And please resort to something other than name calling to sway opinions. Use logic instead of diversion tactics to win your argument and stop making everything about race, religion or color. Start listening to people, even if their opinion is different- you might learn something. Stop acting high and mighty, or self righteous as if your ideas are the only truth there is. That is not logical, or tolerant, it is condescending! If your ideas would make this planet utopian then you have had 30 years in recent history to have already made it happen. I for one am sick of hearing, 'it's the Republicans fault',...'It's the Democrats fault'. Nope. I'm tired of these games. Get real! The people who don't know by now that this is a parody just choose not to wake up. I've voted for presidents who did not win, as well as those who did win. I had to suck it up. What makes you so much better that you can't? Stop being so sophomoric in your 'holier than thou, we will just bully you into submission', attitudes and your next candidate might just stand a chance. You did it to yourselves. My suggestion is to go home and re-think your attitude.

682 I once heard someone in a World War II movie say, "Well, it looks like Roosevelt got his wah."

Now I say, "Well, it looks like the liberals got their wah."

Sun Tzu teaches, "If you know the enemy
and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle. "

I pray to God that we will know our selves and also know our enemies.

683 Great article! Summarizes what I have thought a long time. The Republican party has always played a high moral ground game while Libs/Dems played street ball. Down, dirty and nasty. The only goal was to win.

With Trump, his goal is to fight back and win ... for the rest of us. I too have in recent years taken off the gloves and am fighting back "down and dirty" and I don't take crap from anyone. Their shtick is that of a "one trick pony" and it is old, tired and lame on top of that. Time to teach these pukes what it means to be a real American. They are posers who only want something that can never be, and they want someone else to pay for it.

684 Liberals, the Leftist, and the Democrats have lost ALL moral authority to judge anybody. They freak out over any slight to Muslims, but give standing ovation at The Book of Mormon(Hillary Clinton). Doubt me. Do a similar play about Islam, LGBT, civil rights, etc doctrine and see what the response will be. It is clear who the most tolerant and open minded people are in this society and I am not going to apologize. We don't resort to violence or ostracism the way the Left has done. I would rather live in a tolerant society than an accepting society.

689 For me, the point was reached before Memories Pizza. Remember how the left treated Sarah Palin and her family? ere was a working class woman who fought against a corrupt establishment, while raising a family, including a handicapped child. The left, instead of saying, 'I respect, but disagree with her,' went full jihad against her and her family. Her email was hacked to the guffaws of the same assholes who are shrieking that the DNC's perfidy was made public. A creepy writer literally stalked her. She was subjected to pornographic lampoons and her children insulted on national stages. After the election she was hounded until she had to resign her office, both for the good of the state and because, not being a trustifarian like many of her foes, she had to foot her own legal bills. So the creeps added 'quitter' to the litany of insults.

Now the people who share like Sarah Palin's outlook have an avatar in Trump- one who has defecated on the Marquis of Queensbury rules and other gentleman's agreements that have dominated politics. You've given us Trump, the man who not only can touch proverbial third rails, will do so while cackling manically as he gains superpowers. Trumpis the middle finger to the smarmy intelligentsia and their odious activist allies.

Murum aries attigit.

I truly plan on getting a box of popcorn, my favorite adult beverage, and truly enjoy the show of Trump showing the rest of the Republican Party how to deal with the left, the media, the Globalist left around the world, and this attempt to weaken conservatives and the US by making us play by our own rules instead of playing the game the way they play it. They have been blunted and exposed to their left wing propaganda and the people are finding them not credible and more and more insignificant. Soon their party will self destruct and so called democrats will leave this radical wing. It's about time. No one has stood up to them and called them out before Trump. I hope he continues to disembowel all of the so called OBAMA legacy of divide and conquer. Obama should be put on the ash heap of failed dictators . 731 Emotions aside, your argument is mostly valid.Couple of flaws libs would point out though, for disco sake:

1.Libs get pinned to the wall on SJW-type stuff the same way conservatives get done on religion/morality. Arguably, Libs spend so much time repenting for every non-PC utterance that they are too divided and too tired to fight their corner on real issues (and, thus, lose elections)

2. False equivalency. Is Obama's bad better/worse/same than Trump's bad. Subjective, but taking stuff AWAY from people (visas, healthcare, etc.) is always going to draw more fire and LOOK worse.

735 I voted Democrat for 34 years because I was so busy working 14-16 hour shifts that I didn't pay attention. I always had it drilled into me by my parents that they were the giving, caring party of the poor. Well, the past 10 years I have been off work, and now, I have studied everything I could read, watch and listen to on all parties. Needless to say, I left the Democrat party in 2012 and vow to NEVER return. I belong to none now and that is how it will stay. I agree 100% with this article/blog because it ius exactly how my EX party has made me feel. Sometimes just reading the lies the Democrats are saying, yelling, etc., has made me ashamed to even be an American. I have listened to them all these years, believed they were there to help those in need, but realized that they were actually doing the opposite, but just needed the time to put it all together. They have buried the black race, the illegal immigrants, the disabled and so on, with proven lies through the years. Like I said, I REALLY believed they were helping others. Now all I see is them starting a war within and people have told me it would happen because of them changing history. THAT is how I know what the left says are lies. At least I was an awesome student through my teen years and then on through college. I have heard them speak of so many things that THEY said was done or happened, and I KNOW what they are saying isn't true. They have these damned video editors, book authors...everyone, changing what I used to know as the truth. Hell, some of it I was around for and then for those asinine pricks to say "THIS" is what happened or was said just blew my fricken mind. No wonder they have tried so hard to get the young adults to not listen to the elders. They don't want anyone to know what they have done. I say FUCK YOU to the Democrats and I hope Trump tramples your asses good, even though I think it's all added in together. There is only one boss and that is the owner of the banking industry. They even bribed the Milwaukee Mayor, Tom Barrett, and everyone who holds a big seat in the city. He is also a millionaire now and I hope he dies an ugly death when he goes for letting the people down. I just wish the S@A and our military would have done the right thing and pulled all these punk bastards out of the WH. I am done.
