EMT 11/12/16 [krakatoa]

I haven't stopped laughing since Wednesday morning.

Let's play a game.

We'll call it The Debt Pool.

How soon after inauguration does the media rediscover true unemployment, a bad economy, crushing public debt, and the plight of the homeless?

1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Saturday, November 12, 2016. On this day in 1970 the Oregon Highway Division attempted to destroy a rotting beached Sperm whale with dynamite. But the people planting dynamite did not know a whole lot about dynamite. They planted a half-ton of dynamite on the whale. Result. . .whale blubber everywhere and a very large chunk of whale still left. A laughing actor could be heard in the background; "you think you used enough dynamite there Butch?".

2 DNC leadership officials are still squabbling about whose fault Scankles nomination was. This from the team that virtually shut out all other contenders using the so-called super delegates. Now none of them want to take credit for it.

6 Investigators have tracked down the funding source for all those violent anti-Trump riots. As expected it came from a group financed by George Soros. It would seem to me that he could be prosecuted for that. The problem is tracking him down. He does have a home in NY but that doesn't mean that you can find him there.

10 Heritage discusses what Trump can do regarding immigration. I say the first thing he can do is immediately undo everything the Choom did with his pen and phone. Then using the Choom's precedent he can go in the other direction. Heritage says he needs money from congress to "build the wall". IIANM they have already passed a law to do that. All he has to do is find the money. I would suggest all those massive increases in federal protected "parks" that Obama did on his own should be undone and the land sold to private developers as one source of money. The federal government owns huge portions of States in the West and that is simply not right.

Federal retirement programs are somewhat funded in the same manner as large company pensions are. That changed about 10 or 15 years ago. Their healthcare programs changed too to be similar to private sector programs (other than a lot of private companies have eliminated retirement healthcare).
The programs that are in a LOT of trouble are the local city and county programs, and some State programs. Their programs had invested combined employee and government contributions into "investment accounts" and promised employees golden retirements based on a rate of return that is impossible. And even some cases where the investments actually went bust. There was one in the midwest a few years ago that went bankrupt and the city said too bad. A black robe said no, you will pay them even if you have to raises taxes a huge amount.

Cue the violins:

Donald Trump's election victory and his plans to crack down on illegal immigration is so troubling for the groups of men gathered just south of a rusty, towering fence on the U.S.-Mexico border that some are even considering going home.

But for some like Juan Alberto Lopez, the prospect of living in a country they believe will become more hostile to people like them no longer holds enough appeal to make the risky crossing across the desolate Arizona borderland. "Now everything's changed," said the despondent Lopez, as he sat staring blankly at the ground in outside one migrant center, under a cobalt sky.

Meanwhile, in Canada's Hat:

Joe Miller earned the Libertarian Party its highest-ever vote percentage in a federal Senate race this week, with his 30 percent in Alaska. Miller impressively got 30 percent, coming in second against a Republican Lisa Murkowski, 44 percent, with Democrat Ray Metcalfe, 11 percent, and independent Margaret Stock, 14 percent far behind him. Miller beat the combined total of the Democrat and the 3rd place independent.

Miller was well-known to Alaskan voters, having been the official GOP Senate candidate in 2010.

You know, I quibble a bit with the downstairs post about the MFM being "smug incompetents." In my view, they outed themselves as traitors. They deliberately used their power to influence a presidential election by withholding facts, distorting others and kneecapping the opposition candidate while providing unallowed access and privilege to the other.

Teh Donald going a little wobbly on O-Care doesn't surprise me. What I will not countenance - and will damn him as a water-spined nickelfucker for - is if he treats the press as if this is all water under the bridge and lets them enjoy the access and privileges they had under Obama.

The MFM needs to be punished nd ostracized and stripped of access. Otherwise, we might as well have Scankles in the WH.

Perhaps a Democratic Party supported effort to purge the voter rolls of dead people, and a call for some sort of Identification requirement when voting to reduce the likelihood of an outcome like this occurring again in 2020.

I'd say keep it above the belt, but punch back hard. Every time a protest turns into a riot, arrest everyone who's still there as an accessory to the damage caused by the mob. It'll require a lot of effort to corral and control them all, but it'll send the message that they don't get to go out to vandalize, loot, and burn every time something happens that they don't like.

Trump needs to head this off during his inaugural address. Something like this: "For the past 8 years, your government has been lying to you. 95 People, stop and listen to yourselves! We all want the government to return to its constitutional form, and that means the Donald needs to serve as the president of a republic, not the ruler of some tin pot democracy like the TFG did.

If he starts unilaterally making rules and ramming shit down everyone's throat like TFG did, we will lose the legislature in two years and start losing state houses and governerships like the dems did.

Remember, it's the long game, and turning this leviathan of a federal government around will take time and this is just the beginning. Now, he can undo a lot of the harm the TFG did by undoing the EO's, but a lot of what needs undone really needs congressional action.

Revenge is sweet, but I still want a president, not a dictator, because the unconstitutional power grabs of the executive branch are wrong whoever is in the white house.

Hell, we almost have enough state houses to pass a few constitutional amendments, like term limits. Lets not get greedy and screw this up!

98 OK, I'm back.

A couple of days ago, I posted a pic of Jean Harlow (and here's another, from 1931s Platinum Blonde):

goo.gl/LqDwRs

and somebody asked if she had a platinum blonde bush as well.

I said that I thought so, and now I can definitely say "yes." Allow me to introduce you to Kenneth Battelle, famous NY hairdresser to the elite. Here's what he had to say in a special Vanity Fair issue devoted to Marilyn Monroe's 90th birthday. The story takes place in Chicago, March 1959,at the world premiere for Some Like It Hot:

"When we got to the Ambassador East Hotel in Chicago, a movie PR guy spilled his glass of champagne down Marilyn's front. . .and you could see everything, like she was in a wet T-shirt. She was going to throw the mink coat over the stains for the press conference, but I told her that if she wasn't changing her dress she should at least out on some underwear. She said no, she wouldn't do that, because underwear made lines. I said,
"I hear Jean Harlow didn't wear underwear either - but she used to bleach her hair so it wouldn't show through."

"I went downstairs to the hotel drugstore and bought her powdered milk of magnesia, 20 percent peroxide and spirits of ammonia - you only need a few drops. It's a very old formula for decolorizing hair. I told her, "Now go in the bathroom and bleach the Y."

"Nothing showed through when they switched on those bright lights. After that she was more careful."

106 The elites, including Soros, were stung again, like they were with Brexit, and like with Brexit, they are going to try to make people pay for what they did and try to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Continuing to follow the Alinsky playbook, Soros I think, is actually trying to foment a revolution with these protests. They know that if the destruction and mayhem gets bad enough, people will start defending their property and people will start dying and that, they hope will trigger the descent into chaos.

Two things I think, need to happen. The Republican backed congress needs to make it clear that no federal money will be allocated to cleaning up or rebuilding in the cities where the riots are being encouraged and being allowed to continue with impunity, and the second is that again, the Republican controlled congress needs to make it clear that the funding for the riots will be traced and the sources of the funding will be sued until all of the bills for the riots are satisfied.

Soros acts with impunity in every crime he commits. He is the Clinton Syndicate on steroids. The country doesn't have a hair on its ass if they don't hold him to account.

It seems likely that Trump and Obama's discussion was about Obama's legacy - my supposition based on various news sources is that in fact Obama convinced him to not scrap the law in name, but in function, leaving the name "Affordable Care Act" on whatever replaces it. It seems a good compromise to leave the Nomenklatura un-pissed up to the point where they are completely disempowered.

It seems also a method similar to this should be used for Fed agencies that are useless but still could provide fuel for resistance - replace their functions but not the agencies, halting hiring, new work, but still paying and retiring the bureaucrats.

147 Interesting result here is that the chattering classes (media types) are all gung-ho to move to "swing states" to try to affect 2020, but meanwhile the rank and file leftists are trying to detach their precious blue states from the Trump Empire.

Looking at popular vote by the way, it's clear that fraud is indeed rampant, but Jefferson's argument about decentralization happens to actually apply in this case - Dems don't control hardly any political machines outside of places like NY and CA, and therefore their ability to win national elections just based on their massive fraud is minimal, now almost certainly permanently hobbled by the turning of a bunch of rust belt folks to red.

I'll bet you at least a million of the votes in CA and NY are utterly false - and if you look at the popular vote totals at the moment, let's see -- 60,800,000 to 60,200,000, you can see that they've never held the popular vote either, at all. It's probably more than that, too.

149 What she did has the stench of tyranny, whereas Clinton merely sold influence to enrich herself.

Skankles left an Ambassador and his security team to die without hope of reinforcement, let alone rescue and then blamed the attack on a stupid video, then stood by and said nothing when Barky let the guy get arrested and tossed in jail.

Not sure what qualifies as tyranny in your book, but in mine, Scankles and Barky are right there with Che and Mao.

That's what I've been telling my liberal friends. There's nothing in his history that indicates he's a conservative, certainly not a social conservative. But he's smart, he's got balls and he makes all the right people uncomfortable. And who knows? With Pence whispering in his ear, he might just do a conservative thing or two. I'm cautiously optimistic.

About three-quarters of Hillary Clintons supporters say they accept Donald Trumps election as legitimate, a new Gallup poll found. Seventy-six percent of Clinton supporters accept Trump as the legitimate president, while 23 percent do not.

Among all adults surveyed, 84 percent accept the president-elect as legitimate. And unsurprisingly, a full 100 percent of Trumps supporters say he is the legitimate president.

Now that the election is over, it would be nice if the official archivist of AoSHQ went through the thousands and thousands of comments made on every thread in the prior month to look for flashes of brilliance, to be recognized with a special award.

For Special people. Because we all like being Special.

But seriously, it would be good if there was a way to get some of the people who exhibited insight, stood their ground against peer pressure, made cogent arguments that proved correct and overall knew more than the collective intelligentsia of Washington and New York.

Think of it. That was quite an accomplishment.

Once identified, their comments should be highlighted in an article that contrasts their correct thinking and assumptions to the groupthink of the political and media elite.

And maybe a trophy.

Or a gold star for their forehead.

Something, for christsake. A little recognition. It seems a shame that some people can be so right and some can be so wrong and we all just go on afterwards as if nothing happened.

Or perhaps I just need another cup of coffee...

218 Obama skates away never having had to take credit for his clusterfuck of an administration.

-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------

Just as the media allowed Obama to put all the blame of the economy he inherited on Bush for around 6-8 years, so they will try to frame the current economy as somehow being owned completely by Trump.

Uneasy lies the crown or something like that. He needs to show the same determination in pushing his agenda that he did when campaigning.

219 57 "No, they will have to wait until Trump takes office. Otherwise, somebody might point out that Barry is president, and has been for the past eight years."

You underestimate their ability to warp spacetime with their minds, wherein just the prospect of a non-Democrat President is enough to bring about all sorts of calamities. My idiot SIL got her new healthcare premium notice yesterday and she claims it is boosted in anticipation of Trump wrecking everything. In all fairness, I have to admit that he has already wrecked her mind.

220 Greg Abbott is the ace in the Republicans deck.

221 The stories about true unemployment, a bad economy, crushing public debt, and the plight of the homeless are being written now. They will be published at one minute after Trump is sworn in as president. I've seen this playbook beginning January 20, 1981. The headline will be "It's All Trump's Fault!!!"

222 199 A search for Morons or ettes 'flashes of brilliance'... why not an easier task : finding the holy grail, perhaps?

224 hi there

225 Shibumi's Obamacare solution: for those who had their own policies before Obamacare, bring those policies back.

For those who are at poverty level and feel they need insurance, put them into Medicaid.

For people who don't want a full policy but aren't poor, offer catastrophic policies.

And do not make insurance a tax.

Finally, if you're going to keep forcing Obamacare down our throats, then spread the love around. Right now, the self-employed are getting screwed more ways than you can possibly imagine re: insurance. Include the Cadillac plans and all other employer provided plans so that EVERYONE can feel the pain.

And make ALL federal, state and local government employees buy their own Obamacare policies.

226 My guess is 100 years.

227 Only as long as it takes Obama's FedGov-paid retired POTUS staff to tell their media lackeys exactly how to deflect any possible bad Obama term things back onto the messes left by Boooooosh!

228 49. These guys are definitely up to something. I can't quite piece together
what exactly their goal with these protests is, but just registering
their discontent isn't enough to justify the level of energy they're
putting into it.

hey- if they get enough air play, Choom could claim a national emergency and declare martial law. oh, sorry, that inauguration thing - not happening.

They're trying to delegitimize the Trump presidency before it even gets started.

230 I wonder if John Bolton will be measuring for new drapes at the U.N. Ambassador's office anytime soon? Samantha Powers and her husband Cass Sunstein need to be shown the door.

231 Surprised it has not happened already. After all, they can blame it on the election of Trump.

232 Listen Horde......the left still controls VAST portions of the federal govt. Drastic measures will be required to undo that. Pressure to eliminate the agency level of govt is essential.
